Two folks lost their lives in a nasty crash on State Road 60 in Hillsboro County, Friday night. Florida Highway Patrol says it happened around 11.25 p.m. near Horton Road involving a GMC Yukon heading west and a pedestrian. The driver was a 20-year-old guy from Plant City, cruising along when a 50-year-old woman stepped out into traffic right in front of him. He swerved to miss her but clipped the pedestrian anyway, then veered off the road, flipped the SUV and got thrown out. Sadly, both died right there at the scene. Troopers are piecing it together, but early reports point to the woman crossing unexpectedly in the dark, turning a late-night drive into tragedy. This hits home how quick things go wrong on these roads. Stay alert out there, especially after dark, and we'll keep watching for updates. That's the story for today.
