Todd Meadows, a deckhand on Deadliest Catch, died on February 25th after falling overboard

from the Illusion Lady crabboat in the Bering Sea.

His death certificate lists drowning with probable hypothermia as the cause, and he was pronounced

dead at 5.15 pm.

The crewmates fought hard to save the 20-something father of three, but it was too late despite their

efforts.

The water was just a degree or two above freezing that afternoon, with calm seas and good visibility.

Meadows was in the water for three or four minutes before they pulled him back aboard,

but a rescue harness snapped during the attempt, sending him.
