What's happening thanks to Jonas. You could even be joining us closer and I would like that. I would like you and I to get closer. All-man-ac adventure land, 651 West Tower, Alameda tons of beer on tap, wine ciders, slushes. I don't know if those are the kids of the adults. I love slushes. They have to be spiked, special rotating food trucks. And we're in the Emerald Lounge featuring a state-of-the-art projection and sound system that creates an incredible theater quality environment for watching sports like the Niners and the Rams Todd Husek. Of course, home games pre-imposed. He joins Copes and it's Stanford. He was hot for teachers. I'm sure. I don't know that actually. I do not know that. Todd Husek joins us courtesy of the Uma Guest Live. What's happening? How are you? I'm NFL season in in action right now. We got the Niners tonight. Rams, college football, high school football. Man, I'm fired up. It's tough to be done. I appreciate the hot for teacher leading. Yeah.

I mean, you thought you don't stand for probably a lot to hot teachers. You have not been around Stanford campus. Not hot for teachers. Do you think they would even let me on Stanford campus? They would be like alerts going off. Like, I graduated from Utah State. They're like, you are not worthy. What a bad easy. Yeah. Cooler pond. Upon to be nice for you. I mean, there's just no way they would let me. I can't miss. In regards to just the game itself. Did you ever go over to year? I've covered a couple of games over there. Did you. Did you ever go to Europe or anything NFL wise? I mean, I'm sure you've been there. But did you ever go. I played in NFL Europe. I played in NFL. You're there. Okay. There you go. Yeah. Okay. NFL Europe champs Berlin, Thunder. I need that. We beat. We beat T Martin's Ryan Fire. Come on. 2010. I'm going to be in the NFL. I'm going to be in the NFL. I'm going to be in the NFL. I'm going to be in the NFL. I'm going to be in the NFL.

I mean somebody will say they would retire. You can't even. You weren't watching that game back in 2002. I can't believe. But there's some good stories about that season, by the way. We started out. Oh, and three. And our week four. Game. Was in Amsterdam. Oh my. and had a team bonding experience and we won out and won the championship. What did you bond over like when you're an Amsterdam at the grasshopper cafe and we was like there's grass. We bonded at a higher level at a very good time that we ended up winning the championship after an 0 and 3 start. We came together and won the championship. Yeah, that's true story. That is amazing. Yeah, it was and then I by the way, what was it? Maybe seven years ago, Stanford played in Sydney against rights when I was doing the Stanford games. And so I went over and spent a week in Sydney, Australia is.

That's a real class place. That is Sydney is very much like San Francisco, great people, great outdoor, like great weather. It was epic. That was an outstanding week and and Stanford went out and got got the road win. A very long road win. I know what you've talked about like the travel schedule and everything. I think it's a fascinating. I think the most important thing is that we have a great, well, it's a very dynamic of how these teams are getting. Now we will impact the rams. They've only been there for day and the adrenaline and all that stuff. It might not impact it as much. 15 hour flight. I don't care how nice that plane is. Yeah, the sleep schedule. It's got to be impacted. It has to be. It's going to be a very, very good time to react to it. I think they'll maybe come into play in like third and fourth quarter of these teams. On, on the same level. Certainly it's, it's going to be different. Those teams are going to be different.

And how their bodies react. And after going through 40, 50 plays and how they responded as last 30 plays might play a part in how the game ends. Todd Huesack is joining us. Of course, you, you're going to hear and see Todd 49ers home and of course played as Stanford, a broadcast Stanford. Let me go back to that for a minute because here's my completely non-athlete theory on this whole thing that during the like adrenaline is going to be happening. And like you said, third, fourth quarter might show its rear. It's ugly head. But what I mean, you were broadcasting those games. But when did you guys go over? I don't know. You probably didn't have a choice when you went over. But I mean, what is that like? Now, because I've done two games over in London in Europe. I went over to the Raiders and they told us what to do the whole time and I did sleep in one of those kind of half-up beds. I still couldn't sleep in that. Everybody's assuming that you can sleep in that. I couldn't. Maybe these athletes are different. Maybe they're taking melatonin. I don't know. But like, what was the adjustment like for you when you went over to Sydney? But by the way, their, their plane is not the same that the setup they have is not the same that I'm sure we traveled in.

Yeah. It, it takes you, it takes you some time to adjust. And I think it's interesting. The Rams are like, this is how we're going to do it. This is how we're going to approach it. It's not the same sleeping on a plane and sleeping in a hotel. Your body is not the same. It's just not like sleeping in your home or like certainly at home game or home hotel and getting up and your pregame routine and you're in a different place. And it's, it's just different. Like it, the Rams are, we'll see. We'll see how it all plays out. But I think that I went over there. I went, when I went to Europe, it was a 13 hour flight with the Raiders. And I had one of those flat beds with the TV and the whole nine yards and everything. I was exhausted for the first two days. And I, I slept off and on. But like you said, it's not like hotel. It's not like your home. Because I heard the Rams yesterday saying they put so much science into it. And then of course, you know, McVague got up there and was trying to sell it to. And he was saying, Oh, the players got a ton of sleep. Then we had a, had a walk through. Then they got tons more sleep. And I'm like, I'm telling you, that's I think it's risky. They're saying it's science. I think it's risky.

Because I was in the exact, not the exact plane. But I had that, you know, that whole thing where you lay flat and everything. I, I struggled to sleep on it. Hey, and John, you're not six five 275 pounds. Good points. Like that. Like half that size. Like that. Those, those beds and the things that they have on the plane are not equipped necessarily for guys of that size. So it's, they're not getting their normal pregame routine. And by the way, it's also a pregame routine with like installation and how you're preparing and maybe we want to do our walk through. And this is how we prepare like this is our Wednesday and Thursday and Friday schedule. Like those things are impacted by how they're traveling. So I think it'll be, I think it'll be fascinating. I, there'll be a really interesting way to see how both guys and are both teams and their personnel react to that travel schedule. 49ers will be more prepared for this one, certainly in the later quarters. Now, here's the flip side. How does week two get impacted? Right.

The 49ers have to get back on schedule and granted, there'll be, there's an extra day travel and they don't have to play for another call it nine days. But that'll impact week two. And I think the Rams might be ready for week two. But hey, we need to win nine years into week one win. And certainly it's such a huge divisional game where we saw the Seahawks get a win cash really with. It's what finish them off and start the Seahawks off of the loss in week one. But it's, it's going to be at the end of the season. We saw it last year with that week one win in Seattle. How they great win for the Niners and impacted where were they ended up in the, in the post season. Todd Hussack is joining us. Thanks for hanging out. Remember we are live at all men at adventure land 651 West Tower Avenue in Alameda stop on by we're going to start the, the round table with everybody.

We're going to be getting out now at about noon so about 15 minutes and we've got a big announcement and a special guest at about 12 15 so don't miss that as far as the game is concerned. Yeah, you're the, well, you're the, you're the, yeah, this special guest isn't anything close to you. I mean, you're always a special guest. Of course. Take it kicks a even a beauty. Yeah. The game itself obviously there everybody's talking about the Rams and Aaron Donald is not going to play. But let me just start with the concerns and then we'll move forward. What, what is the thing that concerns you the most about the Rams tonight or today? I think Miles Garrett had defensive front. I think that's where the 49ers offensive line struggled late in the game and late in the season with back to back games against the sea hawks. The sea hawks defensive front took it to that Niners offensive front and those are the questions coming in. How can the Niners rebuild that offensive interior, especially that offensive line where are we saw the left guard.

And they, and we saw the sea hawks do it to the Patriots late in the game where they were able to get to the quarterback. Can that 49ers offensive front be not just good but solid and dominant like they did a dominant offensive front to compete with the sea hawks and the Rams and I think throughout the season. Can they come together and protect Brock Pertie who we've talked about at the last few weeks. Brock Pertie is in his prime. This is his fourth year starter. He has a chance to be a premier and a full quarterback, which by the way, he has been for the last few years when he's been healthy last year. He came back and that offense was different with him. Mac Jones did a great job. Brock Pertie is a different quarterback. He can run this offense better than anybody else. And I think this offense is going to be a new look where he's got some receivers and some weapons that both him and Kyle Shanian have not had.

So they're more equipped and they're probably better. They have better personnel to push the ball down the field, but that only works that they can protect and can they keep Brock Pertie safe where he can drop back seven yards deep throw the ball down the field. They can get those 15 yard ends and those throws that he does better than any other quarterback in the NFL. Can they create big plays, which is where like the Rams made some off season moves, bringing corners and trim. So can they attack that defensive secondary? That only works if they can protect. So I'm really curious to see Mike Evans and scribbling and Robinson and all of a sudden this is a passing attack with George Kittleback is Kittle 90%. He's a hundred percent. If so, that's a tough that's a tough task for defense, a coordinator to kind of keep all these weapons. They're going to be single covered on certain players and that's where Brock Pertie needs to attack and can Christian McCaffrey be effective in the run game can kill on black come in and maybe get 10 carries this game and move the ball effectively because Shanian has not had that backup tail back that he trusts to give the ball to eight to 10 times a game.

Which takes some pressure off Christian McCaffrey and all of a sudden we might see McCaffrey get six or seven catches and maybe 15 carries but kill on black can carry the ball for eight times and or 10 times and 60 yards and that's that could be the difference where I'm really expecting a more attacking offense and a defense that with their new defensive coordinator. Can they create some turnovers and get the ball back for an offense that can put up points in hurry and not just have those 13 play grind it out drives convert on a bunch of third downs like I want to see some six play 80 our drives that have big plates and Mike Evans is going down the field and and captain ball traffic and the Sean tripling is catching and running and I'm excited to see what this Shanahan Pertie by the way I think you have one of the top three. Offensive coordinators and play callers I think you have one of the top five quarterbacks and brought party who can execute that offense at a level that very few quarterbacks can all of a sudden with some weapons that he can spread it out there's there's guys all over the field that can catch and run we we haven't talked about the both Samuel come back can he get four or five catches for yard after after the catch and they're going to block better down the field for Christian McCaffrey.

So I'm excited to see I think a new look offense that is going to be much more attacking than we've seen in the last couple of seasons. You're the best man I could sit and talk matters with y'all day thanks so much we appreciate it we're looking forward to you working with you all season long thanks man we'll talk to you soon.
