Tina Knowles' Gumbo Booth Shut Down, Reopens at Rodeo

Tina Knowles, the 72-year-old mom to Beyoncé and Solange, set up a popular gumbo booth at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. She served her mom a Tina's gumbo from March 2 through March 22 near the Ferris wheel. But Health Department officials temporarily shut it down on March 16, due to a complaint. The Houston Health Department investigated and paused food production that Monday. Tina's team cooperated fully with their recommendations. They passed a follow-up inspection and reopened the very next day on March 17. Customers loved it anyway, with long lines and big smiles all around. Former Destiny's Child member, Latoya Luckid, stopped by for a cup and gave it a big thumbs up. rapper Bun B grabbed a bowl too, and Tina even shouted out his true burgers in return.
