Timothée Chalamet's Ballet Days & Oscar Nod

Timothy Shalamey recently shared a sweet throwback video of himself performing in a ballet production of Romeo and Juliet. The 30-year-old actor danced on stage as a kid in a show choreographed by Jacques Dumboise. The footage comes from the New York Public Library's collection for the performing arts. That library holds tons of recordings, photos and programs from ballet, opera, and other performances. Shalamey highlighted it in his post as a fun, archival find from his early days. He added a light-hearted note in the caption, poking fun at switching from ballet while giving props to dancers and opera folks everywhere. He joked in my costume, a tiny bit of his audience. The post went up right before the 98th Academy Awards on March 15th. Shalamey earned a best actor nomination for his role in the ping-pong drama, Marty Supreme, but Michael B.
