Timberwolves Grab Series Lead, Lose Key Players

0:00On April 26th, Minnesota Timberwolves grabbed the 3-1 series lead over the Denver Nuggets with a solid 112-96 victory on Saturday night. That's their third straight win and the second one by more than 15 points, showing they can hang with the West's best. The win came at a steep cost, though, as two starting guards went down early. Dante Divenchenzo tore his Achilles just two minutes in, sidelining him for the rest of the playoffs and the season. Then, right before halftime, superstar Anthony Edwards hurt his left knee and didn't return. He's already been dealing with runners knee in the other leg, and now he's headed for tests to check the damage. The bench balled out without them, especially Iodosunmu, who dropped 43 points on 13 of 17 shooting and went perfect 12. For 12 from the line, they powered through the second half to seal the dub. With Divenchenzo done, an Edwards status up in the air, closing out the series won't be easy. Advanced day's healthy, though, the walls could keep rolling deep into the postseason.
