They drafted him in the third round back in 2021 and just added him to their 40-man roster on November 18th, 2000. 25. This year marks his first option year, but he's facing some setbacks after major elbow surgery. He underwent Tommy John's surgery in August of 2024, which wiped out his entire 2025 season. Then this spring, starting February 24th, elbow-swordness sideline him again. The team ran an MRI that came back clean and they're playing it safe by keeping him on hold for now. Before these injuries piled up, Tideman was tearing through the minors. In 41 starts over 140 innings, he racked up 206 strikeouts against just 68 walks. At 6 feet 4 and 220 pounds, he brings serious power with a fastball up to 98 miles per hour,

He's young with time to bounce back and plenty of pitchers have overcome early troubles to thrive. Even MLB Pipeline still ranks him as the J's number 5 prospect.
