Robert Thomas dropped his first NHL hat trick, powering the St. Louis Blues to a 3-2 win

over the Colorado Avalanche at Ball Arena. He sealed it with two minutes and fifty seconds

left in the third on a backdoor feed from Jimmy Snuggerud during a 2-1 rush. The Blues

jumped ahead first in the opening frame on Thomas' one-timer, but Colorado tied a quick

with Parker Kelly's redirect and took a one goal.

Lead on Brent Burns' wrist shot early in the second. Thomas answered right back 29 seconds

later to even things up. St. Louis fans are buzzing as their team wraps a solid 2-1-1

row trip, now sitting three points behind Nashville for that second wildcard. Spot in

the West. They're on a 6-1-1 heater over their last 8 games, thanks in part to Joel

Hofer's 26 saves. Colorado stays dominant at the top of the Central Division and West

in conference. Eight points clear of Dallas with five games left. McKenzie Blackwood stopped

25 shots, but they couldn't hold the lead despite Burns' goal and assist. These two squads
