0:00Welcome to This Week in Wildlife with the New Mexico Department of Wildlife, your quick weekly update on news, events and deadlines coming from the department. These are short and important updates on everything you need to know for the week ahead, so let's get into it. For families and young riders, the ATV Safety Class will be held April 11th from 8am to 1pm. This class is hosted by the department's off highway vehicle program in cooperation with the Los Luna's Open Space Division. Students will earn the required safety permit for riders under the age of 18. ATVs and safety gear are provided, but space is limited. Participants must be at least six years of age or older and have a free department account set up online before attending. And lastly, if you're interested in becoming a hunter education instructor, we have a training coming up on March 28th from 8am to 5pm at the Albuquerque Game and Fish Office at

1:007816 Alamo Road, Northwest Albuquerque. This workshop is required to become a certified hunter education instructor and will certify you to teach both the traditional and the field day hunter education student courses. This workshop will also provide New Mexico hunter education certification to those instructors who need a required New Mexico hunter education number.
