2:01John J. Rich, Stephanie, good morning. What's up? Good morning. Hi. I wanted to call with my horrible neighbor story. Okay. What is it? So our neighbors used to be good friends with us. We spent Christmas together, birthdays together. And then they decided that they didn't want to be friends with us anymore because they didn't like the way that my husband acted. Because he doesn't let people like brag about stuff that they're not good at. If I'm friends with your husband and I go, man, I just can't get this juggling thing down. I just can't juggle. Oh, you're not good at that. We're no longer friends. So if you were saying, I'm the best juggler around. Nobody's as good as me. Everybody else should be good. Like, I'm good when you don't know how to juggle. That's what he was like. Okay. You should be saying that. Like, why don't you try a little bit harder? Take some lessons. Do what you need to do. And then we'll go from there. You know what? Those juggling braggers are really a lot of people. I'm understanding it's the other way around. He gets mad if you say you can't do something.

3:02No, if you can. If you can, yeah. He's like putting other people down. So my husband was like, well, that's not really necessary. You're not the best. Like, you can be if you try. But, you know, okay. Okay. So go on. So he doesn't want to be afraid. What did your neighbor do to make him? What was he saying? He was the best dad. I'm the best neighbor ever. No, I don't want to get too far into all of that. Okay. So we decide we're not going to be friends anymore. No big deal. Everybody was fine. So, but then one day we had a house fire. Our garage caught on fire. Thankfully, my husband got it put out right as the fire department showed up. But they realized that the garage was on fire while my kids were in a shower. So he yelled to the kids, get out of the house. So my kids get out of the shower, throw towels on, and run out front. So my kids are seven and nine. They're standing out front wet in towels. And it's cold. It's like the end of October. And all the neighbors come out and everybody's like, oh my gosh. What can we help with?

4:02What can we do? And that's why we still live there. Because we love all our other neighbors. So once we use to be friends with, they come out. Look at us. Look at us. Is like, what's going on? And then see that it's us. Turns around goes back inside. And then like 10 minutes later, they leave. And we threw all of the fire department vehicles. And everything just looked like nothing to say. Not like a, hey, are you guys okay? Or just, just no care whatsoever. And it's just, it amazed me. Are you guys okay? Rebuilt same place? It's still in the process of getting fixed. But everything is totally fine. Everybody's safe. Stephanie, thank you for calling in. That's okay. That's okay. That's okay. It's just fine. You know, there's been a lot of hype on social media and on TV about the 90s. If you think about it, we used to all get excited about things in the 90s together. A new, you know, whatever. A new Britney album or a new movie coming out.

5:02But now it's so divided. The culture is so divided. We can't all do that. Well, part of it right now is because of that JFK Carolyn DeSette show on Lulu. Oh, yeah. The 90s, the 90s wardrobes coming back. Yeah, the fashion. Yeah, the fashion, the music. Because a lot of music from the 90s is coming back huge, right? So I just saw this article about saying the 90s were not a golden era. These are a list of 90s things that sucked. That sucked. By the way, I did a post, I keep seeing these posts everywhere. Are these people doing like, hey, mom, what were you like in the 90s? Yeah. And they do a montage. I saw that day. And I just go to a photo album that I just took a bunch of pictures off the photo album and posted it. And it was, it was kind of a, I kind of feel what I look back at the pictures of me now. He's like, I felt kind of cool. There was a lot of pictures of me in tuxedos. I don't know why I was in a tuxedo. It's pretty nostalgic. It was. It was. It was, it was. And it was fun. I saw Darius Rucker do it. I saw Brooke Shields do it. I saw Naomi Watts do it. I saw a lot of people do it. And I was like, that's really cool. So I did one. I used that Goo Goo Doll song, Iris, which came out in I think in 97, 96 or 97.

6:04Yeah. And then you got Nirvana was huge in the 90s. All these bands and 90s. So these are things they say sucked in the 90s. Frosted tips. Taking a full day to download anything. That's true. I forgot all about this. CD player skipping when you go over bumps and cars. Yeah. Yeah. I remember having like scratches on my CD and like putting all the tooth paste on it to try to buff out the scratches. Right. All the tricks. All the tricks to get my stuff to play. This really hits home for me. Hearing a great song and knowing you might not ever find it again. If your friend moved away in the 90s, there weren't many ways to keep up with them besides a telephone call writing them a letter. I mean, that's why a lot of long distance relationships. I think there was no success. Success. Success now. Hearing stuff from a black and white low-resolution printed catalog and having to wait like six weeks for it to arrive. Yeah. I mean, nowadays you can order something and get it in an hour.

7:05Yeah. The insincereity of it all. Everything was ironic. Even joy. We dunked on nerds who liked things. People in the 90s were mean. Enjoying something was the wrong way. It would lead to ridicule if you enjoyed something. Cigarette smoke was everywhere. Not to mention cigarette butts. I remember back in the day. People were smoking on airplanes. And I'd go sit in the back of the plane and the smoke. It was so disc... To think about that sometimes, it's so disgusting. It was great to me when they stopped allowing smoking in bars in California was really early. And it was so different. I loved it. Once they stopped allowing smoke. Because now you can go out. Stuff that sucked in the 90s. Calling someone you wanted to date, but their parents picked up the phone. I remember calling someone and I would just hang up on them. It was a pretty girl that hear her voice and hang up. Late fees at Blockbuster. And rewinding VHS tapes. There's a lot of scary stuff in the news in the 90s. Violent crime rates of the early 90s. The AIDS crisis. Columbine, Waco. The Oklahoma City bombing.

8:05The crack epidemic. Lots of bad stuff in the 90s. The insanely high prices for technology that's basic now. Like TVs. Like the 100 inch TV I bought. I think if the 90s would have cost about half a million dollars. Yeah, now you should get them Walmart for like 250. What about this? Because getting a walk out of your house after school. And having no way to contact your parents. And just sat on your porch for three hours until they got home. Although the technology breaking into your house is always fun. I always like to try to break into the house. Okay, those are just some fun things from the 90s that are nostalgic. If you watch on Hulu right now. Number one on Hulu is that JFK documentary or JFK show. Finally, my sister got the watch. She texted me yesterday. She said episode two and she's obsessed. How many? She's like the guy is JFK. How many are left on that show? Like weekly things. They do weekly right now. How many are out? I think there's six or seven out. And I think it's the fact that I do catch up your car. I haven't caught up. I still have to catch up on that and shrink it behind. Oh, I'm one episode behind the show. Anyway, this is fun stuff from the 90s. If you want to participate, choose a text.
