Bar on August 14th, 2025. They pulled up a chair to a stack of unattended bags, tossed in their own backpack, ordered drinks, then calmly went through folk stuff, stuffing. Pounds into their gear, without anyone noticing. They walked out with pints in hand, like nothing happened. Latif had been on a spree days before, with a different partner, hitting a bar in Aldgate and racked up about 14,250. Pounds installing goods from nine thefts between early August and late September. Meanwhile, Aliwad grabbed nine laptops himself from mid-August through early October. City of London police called them pros, who took their time targeting drinkers. Both got serious time. Latif 23 months, Aliwad 18 plus 5-year bands from the city under criminal behavior orders.
