There to Serve

Hi, I'm Johnny Erickson Tata, and I love Colossians Chapter 3, where it says whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord.

It makes me think of my friend Lynn Wheeler, who's also a quadriplegic.

For many years, Lynn used my annual planner to help schedule the wonderful team of volunteer women who came to her house in the mornings to get her ready for the day.

One morning, her husband Doug happened to glance at the open planner on the dresser, and he saw that one helper had written, serve Lynn.

Not work for Lynn, or schedule me here. Now, these ladies were there to serve.

And it told Doug, and Lynn too, that those girls had their heart-spocused on Christ.

Oh, friend, would that we all put our whole heart into every task God sets before us?

And do it with an eye to his glory. After all, our service counts for all of eternity.
