There's trades and tampering a happenin'

0:00Dean Rappaport earlier today on the AJ Brown negotiations J.L. Phillips to the Carolina Panthers, $120 million. What does that mean for the Eagles and AJ Brown and by proxy, the Patriots and AJ Brown? Few items went down during the break, Keith. Yeah. We got financials on Isaiah likely, who by the way did pretty well on these free agency lists. ESPN had him 19. So I had somebody from Maldon text me and say that they claim Isaiah likely as well. So because Isaiah likely apparently grew up in Cambridge, that's what I rolled in high and everybody. Oh, I think everybody's grabbing their shares of Isaiah likely around now. John Harbour on the New York Giants. You brought this up in the break. He's back with Harbour. In Harbour in New York. But likely shares of Cambridge, Everett and Maldon, now in New York Giants, he did pretty well on these lists. 19 on ESPN's list, 37 on PFT's list. He got three years, 40 million upside of 47 and a half according to rap sheet.

1:01Okay. By the way, Chris Schein put out his free agency list. I missed this today. Do you see this? Yeah. Well, I saw it after the fact, but yeah, he had Dremont Jones too. He had Dremont Jones on the list. He says they're going to choose quantity over quality and it'll be terribly disappointing until they give Gonzo a contract and trade for AJ Brown. Okay. So that's not bad. They do all these things. That'd be great. He's on Schein's list. He said he's one for one that's since changed and yeah, Dremont Jones is on there. Good for Schein. Yep. John Simpson is a guard, a resigning Baltimore three years, 30 million. That one's out. You're now one for two, Schein. Okay. He did not have Isaiah likely. He had the other popular name though at tight end, Chica Conquo, who did play for Vrable in Tennessee. Still going to happen. Hollywood Brown at White or Sierra. That do it for you? No, I don't like Hollywood. I like Hollywood Brown like three years ago. Three years ago. He did nothing. He's been washed for three years. Yeah. No, it sets about right here. Like Nikhil Harry does because they were both drafted ahead of all those stutters. True. And he got, he got traded. The Ravens did pretty well with him, right?

3:04You see that one? No. Yeah. Demario Davis, two year, $22 million deal, $15 guarantee because he's going back to the jets. Okay. He is old. He is old. Yeah. Kingsley and Igbari signed ten year, uh, $10 million deal with the jets. There was a couple of past rushers to them. Uh, so anyway, where are we stand out with the Patriots? They've signed Dremont Jones, Keith. So I think that's a good signing. I like that signing. He can play a couple of different sides like a big edge so he can maybe play on the inside a little bit too, which he did earlier in his career. So he probably ideally will play on the outside, but we sort of brought up the idea of like depending on what happens with bar more, maybe you use them a couple different ways. But that, that's good. So you can't say they're sitting out day one of free agency. They went out there and got a player. They were connected to and had so many Patriots fans and beatwriters talking about Alex Pierce. And they didn't get him. Pierce didn't go anywhere. He ultimately signed a massive contract to stay with the Colts. I'm not upset about that at all. However, the fact that the Colts then traded Michael Pittman to the Steelers for nothing.

4:05All the Steelers really had to do was give him a new contract, which was three years and 59 million out of all the moves today between Jalen Phillips, Alex Pierce and Michael Pittman. That's the one that bothers me the most. That seems like you could have gotten him for almost nothing. And Pittman is digs-ish in that those are the kind of routes he's going to run. I think he's bigger than digs. Yeah, but he was like a physically. He was like a target machine a couple years ago and he's 6'4, 2'23, so he's a lot bigger than digs, but he's not 6'4 outside running down the field now. He's like more of a middle of the field guy. I think he'd be good with this team. Now all of it will, it won't matter if you get AJ Brown. To this point, they haven't. AJ Brown's still going to be a top of a discussion really until the season starts. Like, if you're still on the team, people are still going to be waiting on a time where he's gone. Right. But so at what point do we have to say the dream is dead, like Wednesday? Like if it hasn't happened by Wednesday, do you think it's going to happen at the draft? Do you think it's going to happen at the draft and then it's a post June 1 deal? If the Eagles are serious about trading them and they want to do it, I would say, yeah,

5:06maybe after the draft, I'd feel like it's dead, but I'd say up until the draft. So in the draft weekend, it's still in play. For me, it would be your time. It was straight. It was April 28th. Yeah, it was it. It was not one of the drafts. Right. Yeah. Just because if they're like, all right, we're going to, I mean, in the case of Tennessee, they tried to draft his replacement. It didn't work. I don't know if Philly would take number 31 and draft a receiver, but they might want to drop somebody for the upcoming season. So I would say, yeah, give me, I guess a month plus, I would say it's still someone alive. So I think that Profil Ball talked us a pretty good job updating their free agent list in real time. So I'm just going to read from their list over ESPNs. But like already, and you can see how quickly this happens in legal tampering. So for instance, the top free agent receiver, free agent on PFT's list is George Pickens. The Cowboys have already placed the franchise tag on him. So he's out. Number two player, Daniel Jones, transition tag out Raven Center Tyler Linderbaum on their list of the best players still available at three, followed by Jaguar's linebacker, Devon Lloyd and Bengals, Ed rusher, Tray Hendry. So that's three, four and five.

6:07Okay. Number six Kyle Pits tagged number seven, Alec Pierce, four years, 116 million earlier today. Number eight, Jalen Watson, cornerback, going with McDuffy, although he went free agent. Yeah. They're just taking the. To the ramp. He signed a three year deal today. Number nine, Breeze Hall, tagged number 10, Malik Willis, sign with the dolphins. So like there's your top 10. Then you get into the next wave here, 11 Kyler Murray, 12 Jamel Dean, 13 Rashid Shaheed, 14 Rashid Walker, the left tackle. So these guys are still up for grabs number 15 Kenneth Walker. So like most of the top 10's gone and a lot of the top 15 are gone and it happens quick, quick paths update. Not that I thought he'd be back, but Austin Hooper, signing with the Falcons. So we're turning to the Falcons back to Atlanta one year, three point two, five million. So that was already a spot. It felt like they needed to they were going to upgrade on and so at least he's out. So he already signed somewhere else. Okay. Look, I think they're going to be in on a tight end. I don't know if that means on the draft.

7:07No, they have to be. I don't know if that means, yeah, but I'm sorry, not not just like a body, though. I think they're going to have to be somewhat aggressive and, you know, Rears and Rears, Reese and Breer AKA Rears had the they both had the same names. Likely again is now a New York giant and the other name was Chica Conquo, who they drafted. That's happening in Tennessee. I feel like that's the one probably happening. And if not, they're probably going to aggressively look at one of the draft because I don't know how many more options there are at tight end beyond that. People say at the combine that you can find good rest tight ends in the fourth and fifth round draft. He did. Yeah. You got to look at like where a lot of these guys are. Oh, so I guess that flies in the face of what I was bringing up about a high draft capital. But like, right, think of all the best tight ends in the league. You know, Kittle, Kelsey, Kittle, uh, uh, yeah, Laporta was also a high pick second round, I think, right at the top of it, too. Hawkinson first round pick, right? Yep. I don't know. There's some highly, who's the kid in, who's the kid in Green Bay blew out his ACL last

8:09year. Good player. Tucker Kraft, my pick. Good. Yeah. Good player. Yeah. Uh, Mark Andrews, I think was a fourth round pick. Yeah. Yeah. I was in love with them. It was a top 10 pick last year. Good call. Love my anti-warren were both high. Yeah. But it was good. Wasn't the general rule never take a tight end in the first round because they don't pan out. Yeah, but Hawkinson kind of broke that. Well, I'd rather take a tight end in the first round than a guard. Oh, same. Yeah. I think the way it's gone, too, tight ends are much starting with that Laporta class. Laporta, Bowers, and then the two rookies last year, even a Phantom was a second round pick. Third round pick, where was he? I forgot. Phantom was, yeah, probably third. But like, even later. Okay. So just stick to the first two then. Well, don't decay it. Also, first round pick. Like, I feel like tight ends, it used to take a couple of years to develop. I don't think that takes a while to develop anymore. And like 10 years ago, that was the same with receivers. 10 years ago, it was like, God, it takes receivers two or three years. Now, if they're not good right away, they're probably not good. And I'd say the same thing at the tight end position now. So are the Patriots looking there? Could they double dip at the edge rush spot? And what are they doing at wide receiver?

9:09I'm a little worried, Keith. You know, where are the options? Well, where are the options? It's AJ Brown. We've talked a lot about it. If it's not AJ Brown, who is it? Evans is still technically available. Yeah, it doesn't feel like it. I've been not connected to him at all. Romeo Dobbs. Dobbs, they've been connected to a little bit. Fowler wrote about him over the weekend. Patriots are one of the teams. What called it Jacksonville with Brian Thomas Jr. Dial about BTJ? I've been on Brian Thomas Jr. for one, for, I mean, the most you go is like a second round. Not 31. No, no, no, no. Yeah, I don't think I do. They're selling kind of low. Jacksonville may just keep him. But I'm still confused that Michael Pittman went for really nothing and DJ Moore went for a second. Brian Thomas not coming off a great year, but just two years ago, he looked like you'd have to try to first round pick for him. He'd be one of those guys that's, you know, on his rookie deal getting traded away. I think there's a ton of upside at least with Brian Thomas. Way more to me than like Romeo Dobbs or something like that. I agree with that. Some of the other guys that are just free agents, but that would, that would probably be my

10:10next choice besides AJ Brown. Like who's your second? I like Jennings. I like Jennings. Oh, I mean, John Jennings. Okay. Evans, even digs. You mentioned digs coming back. I like any of that. Yeah. I like John Jennings. I like that nobody in the league likes him. And on your Pittman point, on the field does make a lot of sense why he'd go for so little. So I wonder if there is like, we were speculating maybe it was the contract. He turned around and got a contract. So maybe that was part of it. Maybe there's an off field component with him. And I don't mean like legally, I just mean like how he carries himself or something because it feels like he went for, I agree, nothing. So that's an odd one. The other, I don't know if we said this on the air, but the commanders also signed a two-year extension with Laramie Tunsell, who got dealt last year from the Texans to the commanders. So two years, about 30 million a pop for him. That's another move. Otherwise, it does seem like the cycle has slowed down a little bit. Yeah. If you remember a year ago, Keith, that doesn't mean all the moves are dead because basically

11:11we were sitting down the hall right after our show ended last year and the past got Milton Williams. I mean, this year to me, I mean, maybe disagree. But I feel like I'm more a little bit interested in potential trades that are out there. So the Max Crosby trade that happened over the weekend, like massive, like the Ravens get Max Crosby. They give him a couple of first-run picks, but that was one of the best offensive players in the league. He goes from a garbage team to a team that just missed the playoffs, which I would expect them to be a lot better next year. So that's like a big, impactful trade. A lot of the free agents, these are like the best available guys. I don't know how great a lot of them are. Good point. You just want to do the top 15. Six of those guys are really good, like maybe. So I don't expect the paths to get Tray Hendricks in, but it's true. How many of those guys even like Pickens Island, Daniel Jones, I don't like Philips is good, but like when Philips is, I don't know, like, it just seems like it's a little underwhelming. The fact that Alec Pierce is that high up there on the list. It's a little underwhelming. So we're looking for some of the big moves today. I guess Kenneth Walker is like a big movie.

12:12He's just, he's the Super Bowl MVP and the chiefs have had issues with their running backs the last few years. So if you're trying to help Patrick Mahomes out, Kenneth Walker makes them better. But then the flip side, they just lost two corners. So I grabbed the chiefs. Another team like the Ravens, I would assume is going to be better this upcoming season than they were. But now they have a lot of work to do on their defense. And they get Kelsey's coming back. They lost their whole second. They don't have any corners. They don't have any corners. They're the Patriots at Ed rusher. Yeah. Before they signed Dremont Jones, all their corners are done. Right. And so those are some of the big moves that don't have any ed rusher's either. Who's that? Oh, the chiefs chiefs. Have a defense anymore. Are they, are they going to be back? I don't know because you're also in a division with the Broncos who are good and the chargers who I don't, I don't count on them in the playoffs, but the regular season are going to win a bunch of games. I mean, they brought back Kelsey and brought in a running back, the Super Bowl MVP, but a running back. So I'm so far and they've subtracted two corners. Like are they back? I don't know. Probably not.
