And today I am headed out to the US open HBCU live is going down at the US open, which is a HBCU connecting event. You don't have to be in the HBCU to attend HBCU live events that happen at the US open today. But it happens every year. This is my second year attending. Shout out to HBCU live in their team. Now I'm excited. Number one, I'm always excited to go to the US open. I listen, y'all know I am not a avid sports enthuses. Right? Like I don't follow every single thing. But I do enjoy watching the girls in the guys have a time at the US open.

4:09Somebody that I've been paying a lot of attention to for the last two years. I mean, I feel like everybody has because she is such a big name. And tennis Naomi Osaka. We talked on the last latest with Lauren the Rosa episode a little bit about Naomi Osaka and some of the fashion she's been showing up in. Okay. Her and luxury law law road, she is a famed stylist. He's worked with everybody from us and day to our destiny to, you know, some of the greats in this game is working with her. And coordinating these fashion moments. And dedication and then tribute to Alan iris and now Alan iris and has actually responded to Naomi Osaka. I saw this this morning and wanted to let you guys know what what I was in felt about some of this and then listen. Alan iris and is one of those people who gets love and tributes a lot. I think in 2026 and you know, this last like I would say shoot. Like five to six years, I think the world has really, really begin pointed on heavy to Alan iris and understanding what he did, how he broke through.

5:14And I might even just talking about like basketball because for me when I look at certain things, I'm not just looking at it, especially in sports, be honest. I'm really not looking at it from a sports take first ever. It's always like a cultural impact or impact on people and influence. Alan iris and was that from his braids to the way that he, you know, dressed to the things that he said, the things that he did not go for. There's always been a conversation around that and how he made room for basketball players, but athletes in general. To be able to really lean in and hone in on themselves, their looks, their images and making statements through the things that they're not going for in the fashion statements that they're doing. And I'm a lot of what she is doing these last couple of days on the court is just that, but Alan iris and reposted her tribute. And he said, thank you for the beautiful tribute. I'm grateful to have inspired you blessings to you on your journey, your inspiration to many, including myself. Now this was because she's done an imposter, a few different tributes, but this was after she wore the black and white Nike skirt tennis skirt and tennis top.

6:24And she had the headband and iris and braids and the arms leave as well. So I know it feels good if you're AI to see it, but to see it across all sports epic and just speaks to his impact and speaks to the impact of representation in a sport. And I think for me, that is what is always exciting. It is not just about the actual sport itself, but I remember last year when I went to the US open, it was my first time going to the US open under the HBCU live event. And the biggest thing that stood out to me was I saw all of the, there were so many, first of all, I was surprised that there were so many black people not just there, but like involved in the like the day, the production of the day around the US open and not just on the HBCU live day, but in general. I learned so much about you know, different organizations that they have to support the black tennis players as they emerge and become successful in the sport. And just the community within the US open, there were so many people there, just in their prairie, which is like, you know, whether you're in a fraternity or a sorority at a HBCU, that's when you wear your letters, your colors, there were so many people there.

7:38And support, but these are people who are doing this not just at US open time, but are supporting matches as much and as often as they can. So that was like the biggest thing was like such an eye opening thing for me. I've been the woman then before, but I'd never been to US open. And even when I went to women, I was young, I was a part of a tennis camp. And I'll be honest with y'all, my little black tennis camp that I was in from the inner city, we were probably the most black people I saw there. I really remember because when you're that young and you were taken into this huge stadium full of audience cheering white people and we were literally there to see, I believe it was Serena play. We were there to see Serena play. I just remember it because I remember being us in Serena. And it was few farm between other rest of us, but I know to see the evolution in the sport and in the support. I was behind the black tennis players as they take the field. I also felt as they take the court. I also last year, I talked to you guys a bit about getting to see Coco golf warm up. And I've been seeing Venus and Serena post videos around their warm ups because they're doing the doubles this year.

8:44I'm going to return to the US open and people are really excited about that. So I know we'll probably like I'm a try to if they're there practicing. I'm a try to sneak over and go see that but it be lined literally to wait to see people practice. Like it's insane. The amount of people that come out just to watch, you know, everybody play in in real life. When you're watching these tennis players play. They're like superheroes. It's insane. How like just oh my god, the full court coverage, the way their bodies are moving. Like it's it's amazing to watch. It is amazing to watch in person. Yeah, like even if you don't know everything about tennis, it's amazing to go and watch these people be literally the biggest. Both its names in their sport and real time and make it look so effortless. So I'm there today. HBC live shout out to the team shout out to Sean and everybody over there. Thank you. While skillet baby was here on the breakfast club, we talked about a ton. We talked about the fact that he's on his journey, his faith walk. But during the interview, there was something that happened that is now going extremely viral. And I want to talk about why it's going viral. And it kind of the irony of that. Let's take a listen. Because when skillet baby was here, we actually we prayed with him. And it's getting people to talk about God. Let's take a listen. You're going to prayer. You want to support. I want to try to do it. Dear God, have me father. Thank you for bringing us together today. I thank you for skillet baby and his journey and his voice. I pray that you cover him.

15:15You continue to leave him down a path of leadership, but also down a path of vulnerability as he places his life story out for other people to see to know to understand. But also to follow in the right way. I also pray that you comfort him. The moments where we don't even understand what comfort is where he may not understand what comfort is. And I pray that you sit right there next to him. Just speak to him. You hold him in the ways that he is needed because there are moments and times where only he will understand exactly what you were saying to him. Why and who you are as you show up there God I pray that you show up. You show up here. I pray no spirit of confusion, no spirit of fear. And I just pray that you continue to show favor in his life. I think that he I know that he is here for reason. I know that he is so here with us for reason. I know that you continue to you know display that for him as he continues to walk forward. I've listened to that probably like four to five times just today alone because me and Charlie and we're talking about this and it's crazy because I think.

16:15I don't know like I I I feel like I was talking to myself as well. And that's something that Charlie made sense to me and I was like okay like but I heard what he was saying like me and Charlotte talked about this and he was like you know a lot of times when I'm watching you do topics which is like report on things at a very surface level. The like your confidence your your discernment your discernment your distinctiveness the you know the not stumble versus do you stumble it's not always consistent but in that moment you it was like confidence. It was a flow. Yeah, like but I think you know something like that is is like I like in real life like I'm really on a journey to figure things out and I talk about it a lot because I think a lot of people. They're trying to do the same thing but people don't take the moment to like actually acknowledge it like people want to act like they've already arrived and I know that in certain instances.

17:16God has walked me through the door and I have arrived and I and I know that to be facts that that's why you guys are able to press play and listen to me here on the latest with on the roads of the podcast but I also know that there is a lot of depth and substance to what I'm here placed here to do that I don't understand yet and I think what I identified most with skill of baby and listening to him in the conversation that we had was that he's been very honest with like he's kind of just like walking by faith and I by sight and that is. I don't tell him it but he's so self aware. Yes, I think you have to be though like when when one of the most clear things that has ever happened in my life happened because I know for a fact like people be like oh my instinct and I heard something no I know for a fact God said to me you got to move it is time to like shake the room and it's time I heard it clearly. There is no confusion there is no second guessing what I heard why I heard it what I was supposed to do any of that I've never been more sure about anything in my life other than my faith walk and understanding walk and by faith and I by sight.

18:29I think it gets hard because our human gets in the way and when I was talking to skill of baby and I'm talking to him about you know 10 being skill of baby the rapper and the lyrics and the fact that he was shot and like him one and retaliate at one point and then changing his mind is like the battle of your human wants a needs versus like what God wants to be. Can I can we play that clip of him like kind of saying how he was he was his opponent himself because he knew better like I've never heard. Yeah, but I've never heard of rapper that still being a mix of what he grew up upon like understand that about himself that he messed up. You know what I mean like I've never I've never heard that so we're still kicking it with skill of baby his new album the price of famous out now. You got shot last summer right. How did that impact you mentally like mentally it just put me in a spot where I was dark I was dark for a minute and that's when I really my faith started I tested my faith the most because I felt humiliated I felt like I let myself down or I thought it was the but why you feel like you love yourself now and why do you feel humiliating because I know better.

19:39Oh you mean what you moving yeah like I know better but I felt like in the moments like I'm bigger than the program like you know and certain stuff you don't do when you do what I do like and I had to understand I always be trying to act like I'm a normal person and stuff but my career is not normal. I'm learning I'm not and that's why I think I talk so much about discipline because when that time went off for him and it was his prayer time that is him building. Yeah discipline and oh my God tell her you was you on the last episode when I was saying to you like and a lot of times when I'm talking to people I'm talking to myself oh my God God that like right now just clearly right now God just said like that wasn't me that was God talking to me literally right now because when I said to you yesterday you locking in and your faith journey helps you so much through a pivot it's because things become so much more clear like and when I I'm listening to this prayer back and people are like hitting me and just telling me like you know what the prayer did for them and I'm like man I'm here and I'm locked in but like I think that there's another level of locking on the spiritual side that God is is is saying to me and revealing to me and I think that for a long time I've been

20:55because I think everybody has their thing right like when you think about Wendy Williams you know her niche you know what she's you know I mean it's the messy candy on who like always knows everything when you think about Charlemagne it's like he's honest he's from South Carolina it's mental health I think in me developing in this space as a business woman as talent as a voice as a source as you know in a trusted you know across all of those venues like I have as as a person as my flesh is like I have to find my niche in like rent and repeat but like the spirit in me is like girl that none of that those little titles and the niche and the brand and the curating have nothing on the reason why I mean I'm even allowing for the masses to be able to hear you I don't know where I am in that yet but something is like there's some work I have to do and I think what it is is I got to like take a step back I wouldn't even say slow down because I think that I've got a balance of everything but I do need to dedicate some more time in listening to God and in listening what God is is allowed me to say to other people because I think what he's what he's doing and I literally hung up the phone from Charlemagne I was like I got I heard you we just all crazy that it was Charlemagne the devil that caught me and said that but when he caught me though he said like you know why like this is this is what I'm

22:24hearing for you and whenever we have these like really deep talks one thing I can appreciate from Charlemagne is when we ever we do have these really deep talks he's very honest with me whether I want to hear it or not but there's nothing that he has ever said to me when he's like yo this is what God is like this is hot this is all my spirit right that either hasn't come to fruition or hasn't made me think twice about something and once I thought twice about it and changed it or open to myself up to you and I think that's what it has it made a clear path for takeoff like I might not agree with everything everything might not be a hundred percent correct because you know it's still outside looking in but I will say that there's a spirit of discernment there that I appreciate and in this moment like I'm watching people literally learn about God through the breakfast club and I remember when I first got here I had a conversation with he's a youth pastor at my church now but just my at the time he wasn't passed the Rome yet but one of my friends to run Lewis at my church he's a greatness his dad is our pastor pastor Rome senior but I remember I was saying to him you know sometimes I feel like I get up and I go to work every day and it's great and I have a good time but like what is my like with substance in it like how like what is the why how I help and people and I've been asking that even here on this podcast y'all for probably like the last seven months y'all are probably tired of hearing me say that and all of this has made me really think about how do I do this is I'm something I'm a little bit different I'm a little bit different than it would be if I could do this but more than that I'm not going to say it through the video because I'm a little bit different than it's just going to work but I'm a little bit different than it's just going to work and I'm a little bit different every time I'm also really talking about that I'm a little bit different but I'm going

23:54how I figured, like how I approach figuring out that why and not even trying to figure it out. I just need to like sit down and listen and really get into my faith walk and allow myself to be led into all of it. Because I don't think I don't think anybody's purpose is as surface level as like your day to day schedule allow you to believe. Like being a parent is great and it probably is your purpose. But when you raise your son and your son goes out into the world and you know, maybe he cures cancer or maybe he saves a life or maybe he's just the backbone you need one day. I think then you discover, oh, okay, it wasn't just being a parent. I gave birth to the answer to something that nobody else could have known was going to happen to me. But you know what I mean? Like, I feel like I'm at surface level right now and I'm trying to I'm fighting hard because I know that there's more to the surface level. But I got to the fight is not even mine. Like I got to just really lock in and figure out what that lock is because I'm being led to this like next.

24:55This like second, it's like the second iteration of my introduction to the world and it keeps like happening and into the world more so to myself for real. Yeah. I think with me, like what you just said with like what my, what main my like how do you say my son will maybe cure cancer or whatever like what's the bigger purpose? I think I live too much in the present sometimes and I have to fall back and like think about that in a in a good way versus like being deterred by the present. Yeah, I think I get I get we do and that's why like for me faith, I don't think you should just turn the guy when you are in a bad place. I think it should be in a good place or a bad place. But I do I will say that when you are in those dark places, I like like I think that's why faith is so important because when you are deterred from things, there's nobody that can really talk

Like and not just like career wise, like even the vision that you have for like your life for how you want to feel every day when you wake up for you as a human and as a person, it is literally yours. Like literally until you could physically physically walk in the house and see the rooms and see the stairs and see the water running you know what I mean like I think that that is like such an analogy for life of like I mean it don't it don't happen as easy like skillet baby went through a lot to get to where he is and I even saw some people and you know in some critique or just responses to you know the prayer now that all these different gospel sites and and and some just gospel faith based sites like you got the culture having a conversation about it right now right but I saw people saying like you know it well it took for him to get shot to find it don't matter where God finds you yeah what does that matter and also we don't know that exactly we don't know that whatsoever because how long how long go do that happen the shooting was in May 2025 so I saw the interview with him in pretty V and it seemed like he's always had gotten his

53:29trying to figure out like okay what's going to happen is he going to beat it is he not going to beat it who's on a stand a day what are they saying how is his defense team responding but young thug tweeted something because i reported a story about drake and drake helping little dirt pay for attorneys through this battle young thug tweeted out um this morning he said y'all be best he said best friends are on the stand he said my dirt's best friends because a lot of the people that dirt came up with are testifying against them best friends are on the stand saying he did serious things and put lying and quotation marks and y'all are asking blogs who paid for lawyers if i didn't say he was my brother my lawyer wouldn't even have took the case i sent brine to get with him and take the case stop making me the bad guy and pray harder for him because i am now this whole mix up of like paying for lawyers not paying for lawyers brine still was a really famed attorney he actually was a part of ditty's defense team he worked with young thug when young thug was on
