Hey guys, I'm Kiera, and today you learned how to pronounce the word Tham, or there. Let's say this word with good Russian default mouth position. Just slightly forward, tip of the tongue behind the bottom teeth, lips rounded and protruded. Tham. Tham. The Tha is pronounced with the part of the tongue just behind the tip. That's the portion that makes contact with the roof of the mouth. Draw Thang Leeps. Tham. Tham. Notice what happens if I don't use the Russian default mouth position. Tham. Completely not Russian. So commit to shifting your default position and keeping it there with daily reminders. Sticky notes on your computer in the textbook at the top of every homework page. If you don't make the shift, you have no chance of really sounding Russian. But if you do it, everything will instantly sound a thousand times better. Let's think through it carefully one more time.
