So this woman just joined TikTok and she might already be the most hated TikToker in TikTok history. Let me explain. So her name's Casey and Casey is unemployed, living in Florida with her parents, and one day in 2005, life drops a bomb on her. She's pregnant. Now, why is this a problem for Casey? Well, not only is she unemployed, but she's also only 19 years old. She ain't ready for all this. So she decides, oh, I'll just give the baby up for adoption. But Casey's mom, who will just call Casey's mom, Casey's mom says absolutely not. So Casey has the baby and she keeps her, and the baby's name is Baby Kaylee. So now Casey and Baby Kaylee live at home with Casey's parents. But here's where we run into problems. According to Casey's friends, Casey is a little jealous that all her friends get to be normal 19-year-olds and get to go out and party and stuff,
while Casey is stuck at home taking care of a baby. So then over the next few years, Casey starts lying to her parents about having a job. She'll tell them, oh, I gotta go to work. And her mom will watch Baby Kaylee while Casey leaves and goes off to party with her friends. These are actually some pictures of her partying. There's another picture of her partying. You get the idea. And to keep up the lie to her parents that she has a job, she starts stealing from people, from her friends, from her family. She's taking money from her mom's purse. She's forging checks, all kinds of stuff. Plus, she keeps making up lies to get other people to babysit for her. I mean, she clearly no longer wants to be a parent. And eventually, she unfortunately gets her wish. Because it's now 2008, and one day, Casey tells her parents she's going on some work trip and that she's going to leave Baby Kaylee with a nanny. And this all seems pretty normal behavior from her at the time. But then, Casey suddenly just disappears.
Like she doesn't come home, and her parents haven't seen her in a while. And they start to get a really bad feeling that something terrible happened. Then, a month goes by, and Casey's parents get a letter saying the car Casey had been driving was impounded. So Casey's dad, who we'll just call, Casey's dad, her dad goes to pick it up. And when he gets to the impound lot, something immediately is very wrong. Because there's a really strong odor coming from the trunk of the car. And there's nothing of importance in the trunk right now, but it smells like there had been a body in there. Now, at some point during all this, Casey finally comes home, and Baby Kaylee is not with her. And that is when Casey's mom freaks out and calls the police. My daughter was new friends for a month. I just found her today, but I can't find my granddaughter. She just admitted to me that she's been trying to find her. So there's something wrong with my daughter's car today. And it's not like there's going to be a guy in the room car.
And so, police bring Casey in and they question her, and she tells them, oh, I left Kaylee with a babysitter, and the babysitter must have taken her. Her name is, uh, Zanny the Nanny. And police are like, your daughter's been missing for 31 days? Why didn't you call us? And she tells them, oh, I've been doing my own research. And so they ask her where Zanny the Nanny lives. And Casey takes them to an apartment building and points at an apartment, and is like, she lives there in that apartment. But when police look in the windows, the apartment is completely empty. And not only is it currently empty, but no one had lived there for five months, and no one by the name of Zanny the Nanny had ever lived there. Because Casey never even had a Nanny, she lied. And so, bam, police arrest her. Here's her mugshot. But the story's not over, because we gotta get to why TikTok hates her so much. So anyway, this story immediately blows the f*** up, like it's dominating the news,
not just in Florida, but nationwide. Every news outlet is talking about it. People wanna know what happened to baby Kaylee, and so thousands of volunteers from all around form search teams to go out looking for her. But unfortunately, they don't find anything. Now, here's what's really crazy. We know that Casey had disappeared for a whole ass month. So there's a month of time in her life unaccounted for. And what did Casey do during that month? She went off the grid? Well, that's where it gets interesting. Because at one point before baby Kaylee goes missing, someone at Casey's house, we don't technically know who, but someone uses the home computer to search for very specific terms like chloroform and neck breaking. Then two days after baby Kaylee had gone missing, Casey asks her neighbor if she can borrow a shovel. She also at one point steals a checkbook from one of her friends and she goes shopping. Now keep in mind, her baby is gone.
According to her, baby Kaylee had just been stolen by her nanny, and Casey uses this time to steal a checkbook and go shopping? Not only that, but she's also hanging out with her boyfriend every night. And she never mentions to him that her baby would just stolen by a nanny or say that anything had happened to her daughter. She doesn't seem worried or sad at all. In fact, quite the opposite. She's going out to bars and clubs with her friends, drinking and partying. At one point, she enters a hot body contest. She goes and gets a new tattoo. Like your two-year-old kid is missing and you haven't told anyone, not even your parents, and you're out partying and getting new tattoos? Like it's no wonder the internet's mad at you. And so this Tom Fulery goes on for about 31 days before she finally returns back home to her parents' house. And that's where we saw her mom call the police. And that phone call from her mom, that was the first time the police had been notified that baby Kaylee was missing. So like, it's just a little suspicious, right?
Oh, but it gets worse. From there, police investigate. And they look at her car and the trunk of her car tests positive for chloroform and human decomposition. I mean, there's just so much, I guess, technically coincidental evidence that some foul play went on. But yet, despite that, Cayce still insists that baby Kaylee is probably still alive somewhere out there, she's just missing. And so people continue to look for her. But then, several months later, they get some inevitable news. One day, a utility worker is out in a wooded area, a little less than a mile from Cayce's parents' house, and he comes across a bag. And that bag, sadly, has Caylee inside. And she has duct tape over her mouth, meaning she had been murdered. And so then, fast forward a few years. It's now 2011. And this whole thing goes to trial with Cayce being accused of murder. And of course, she pleads not guilty.
And her lawyer actually ends up being a pretty good lawyer. And he argues that Caylee was never kidnapped. That the day she allegedly went missing, she accidentally accidentally drown in the family pool. And that Cayce's dad, I guess he didn't want to look neglectful, so he covered it up and made it look like someone kidnapped her. And she later makes a very different argument. But in court, that's what Cayce's lawyer argues. So, you know, believe what you want. Anyway, so eventually, the jury deliberates, and they come into a decision, and keep in mind, 40 million people are watching this verdict live on TV. And so the jury comes out, and they read the verdict, and they find Cayce not guilty. And of course, people are pissed, and like fights break out, and people are protesting, they can't believe she got away with this. And so then 14 years go by, and it's now 2025. And for whatever reason, Cayce decides to join TikTok.
This is my first of probably many recordings on a series that I'm starting. And even though she was found not guilty of unaliving her daughter, TikTok users pretty much unanimously are like, hey, get the f*** off our platform, you monster, you're not wanted here. And regardless, she only has two videos up, but she has since turned off all of her comments. I guess she doesn't want to hate. Now, I have no idea if she's gonna actually post any more videos, I mean, she says she is, so, I guess we'll see. So this woman is apparently crazy, and you should never date her. Now the woman's name is Jody, and Jody's around 25 when the story starts, and she's living in California, and Jody appears to really, really want a boyfriend. Like she just wants someone to love. And one day in 2006, she finally gets that opportunity, because she goes to a work conference in Las Vegas. And there she meets this guy, Travis.
And Jody thinks Travis is fine, and Travis thinks she is fine. Now, she's actually dating someone else during this time, but she doesn't seem to care. She now likes Travis, and they hit it off instantly, and they hang out the entire conference. Now, unfortunately, the two of them live in different states. She lives in California while he lives in Arizona. But that doesn't stop them. She immediately dumps the guy that she's dating to focus all her energy on Travis. Not only that, but Travis is actually a Mormon, and his long-term relationship goal is to marry another Mormon. Well, that's not gonna stop Jody. She straight up converts, like right away. She's just like, well, I'm a Mormon now. Here's actually a picture of her getting baptized into the church. I believe Travis is actually the one who baptizes her. And so from here, Travis and Jody officially start dating in a long-distance relationship. And everything's going well.
They're having fun. They're calling each other all the time. They're traveling together. They're doing, you know, all sorts of couple of things. Not only that, but their physical relationship is apparently very spicy. Now, he is a practicing Mormon, so he feels like it is sinful to be smashing before marriage. But I guess that doesn't stop them. They hook up as often as they can, and they talk dirty on the phone and through text, and sometimes they even hook up in the car. But damn, wait till you get home. Anyway, you get the point. They get physical, and this apparently causes Travis to feel a lot of guilt, but whatever. He still does it. Now, Travis has a set of friends who try and look out for him. These friends are convinced that Jody is not good for him, and also that she's a little nuts. And to be fair, they're not exactly wrong. Jody will sometimes get jealous and possessive and go through Travis's emails and his social media, and she's just like generally spying on him at all times.
Sometimes she even follows him to the bathroom and waits outside to see if he makes a phone call or anything. But I guess it doesn't bother Travis enough to push him away. Because like he even buys her a shirt and a short set with his name on it for Valentine's Day, you see there's this Travis Alexander's, and so I guess it's that kind of relationship. But anyway, then around 2007, things start to change. So these two have only been dating for like four or five months at this point. And one day Jody is snooping through Travis's phone, like she often does, and she sees that he's been texting with other women. Now she already knows that he's a flirtatious guy, but this time, I guess he crossed the line and they end up breaking up. Now you would think that this would be the end of it. But no, Jody's crazy ass actually moves to be closer to him. She literally packs up all her stuff and moves from California all the way to Arizona
to live just a little bit away from Travis's house. And so they do this whole, they're technically broken up, but they still smash thing. And to make it worse, Jody starts helping him out by cleaning his house for money. I guess he just like gives her the work. Imagine breaking up with someone, and then they just show up at your house, like, hey, can I vacuum your living room? All right, but anyway, to be fair to Travis, he actually does try and move on and date other women. However, strange things keep happening in his life. Like his tires get slashed and his social media gets hacked. His journals go missing, which is probably the result of Jody acting crazy. And like one time she wants to get into his house, but she doesn't have access. So she just like straight up crawls in through the doggie door like a frickin' psychopath. But anyway, here's where their on-again, off-again relationship starts to go wrong. Through all of this, Travis and Jody continue to smash.
Even though he's trying to move on. But Jody, she's not trying to move on. She wants Travis back and she wants him all to herself. Regardless, he's actively going out on dates with other women trying to find someone new. And eventually, he does meet one particular nice woman and he thinks she is fine. While Jody, she decides to move away from Arizona back to California and live with her grandparents. But despite not being in Arizona anymore, she still wants to be with Travis. Like she still calls him, she still stalks his social media, and she still just keeps showing up in his life. All the while, they seem to keep up the occasional phone sex thing too. And so now we're in like 2008. And around this point, Jody finds out about a trip Travis is going on to Cancun, Mexico. I guess it's like a yearly company trip and I think he's allowed to invite people to go with him. And he decides to not invite Jody to go with him.
But you know who he does invite to go with him? That other woman that he likes. And so Jody finds this out and she's apparently all pissed off and she is not going to let him run off to Mexico with some other woman. So she goes and she steals a pistol from her grandparents. And then several days before Travis is set to leave for Cancun, Jody packs the gun in her bag. And then she suddenly just shows up at Travis's house to say hi. Now by this point, Travis and that other woman are still going to Cancun, but they're just going as friends. I guess they ultimately decided not to date. But I don't know if Jody knows this or if she even cares. And so Travis lets her into his place. So they're hanging out and one thing leads to another and they start smashing. And they're apparently having a real good time. And Travis has gotten a new digital camera. And so they decide to take some spicy photos of one another in the bed and apparently in the shower too.
Now it's at this point that Jody decides that it's time to make sure that no other woman can have Travis and that she needs to unalive him. And so she gets a knife that I guess she had hidden somewhere. And boom, she starts stabbing him. Over and over and over again. She actually stabs him 27 times. Then to make sure the job is finished, she cuts his throat. Then I guess to really make sure the job is finished, she shoots him in the head. Now here's the really wild part. Remember that digital camera that he had? Now I don't know if she took the pictures on purpose or by accident, but a picture is taken of Travis while he's dying on the bathroom floor. And obviously I can't show you the picture, it's awful, but it exists. Then once Travis is unalived, Jody drags his body to the shower to wash it.
I guess she's trying to clean up his body and maybe stage the crime scene. I'm not sure what her full plan is. But afterwards she tries to mess up the digital camera and she throws it in the washing machine along with all the bed sheets. Then she just leaves the place. Like nothing happened, like she didn't just murder the guy she's in love with. Anyway, so eventually police investigate all this. And immediately Travis's friends bring up the fact that he has this nutty ex-girlfriend Jody. So of course they search Travis's place and along with other evidence, they find the digital camera with all those spicy picks on them. And these pictures are timestamped, placing her at the scene of the crime. And so bam, they arrest Jody. Here's her mug shot. And ultimately she goes to trial and she's found guilty and she sentenced to life in prison. So this guy, his name's Luigi. And Luigi just unalived a man
and people love him for it. So Luigi's got a lot going for him. He was a valedictorian in his high school. He went to an Ivy League university. And he's generally a charming and friendly dude. And one day he decides to move to Hawaii. I mean, he's in his 20s. He has a remote job. So why not? And there Luigi learns to surf. Here's the thing though. Luigi has had bad back pain since he was a little kid. He actually has a condition called Spondylolisthesis. And I guess all the surfing aggravates his Spondylolisthesis and his back starts hurting like crazy. In fact, it's so bad that he's in bed for a week. And even after he recovers enough to get out of bed, the pain doesn't really go away. So most days, Luigi's just in pain and it sucks. So he does his research and he starts reading books about chronic back pain. And he does everything he can to help himself. But nothing seems to work. And this back problem is really starting to consume his life.
Like he's not sleeping right and he can't surf. He can't have sex. He can't live the active life he wants in Hawaii. So eventually he leaves. And I don't know exactly where he goes after this, but things continue to get worse. Like the pain is just unbearable. Sometimes his legs feel numb and he just never feels rested. And this is just a bit of speculation on my part because we don't have all the info right now. But it is speculated that this whole time he's battling with his health insurance provider, trying to get them to cover his treatment. And that unfortunately isn't going too well as these things generally don't. And eventually something happens to him that gets him sent to the ER. And from there, he has to schedule a surgery for his back. No matter what it costs. I mean, there's no other way around it. This is ruining his life. So he schedules the surgery and he gets it. And it's a spinal fusion surgery where doctors fuse part of the spine together. And so they do the surgery and after about a week, he's already starting to feel better.
And little by little, he becomes active again. And he goes backpacking through Asia and he ends up in Japan. And this is just what he really needed. But again, this speculation based on how American health insurance works. But it is speculated that during this, he continues to fight with his health insurance provider to get them to cover his back surgery. And they just keep giving him the runaround like they are known to do. And by the time he gets back to the US, Bro has had enough. He's done with these insurance companies and he's done with the US health care system. And so he decides to do something about it. And he comes up with this insane plan to assassinate a CEO. So first, he distances himself from his friends and family and he stops posting online. He basically ghosts everyone for months. Then he gets a bunch of fake IDs and he 3D prints a pupe and a silencer. Then he takes three bullets and on the casings, he etches the words deny, defend, depose on them.
Which deny defend a pose is a reference to delay, deny, defend, which is a reference to the shady tactics that American health insurance companies use to deny coverage to people in need. And so after doing that, Luigi gets on a Greyhound bus. And they believe it originated in Atlanta and he takes that bus all the way up to New York City. And there he checks into a hostel and he waits. 10 days later, it's early in the morning and Luigi leaves the hostel and he heads over to the Hilton Hotel. And there, outside the hotel, he waits for about an hour for his target to show up. Then his target does this guy, Brian. Now Brian is the CEO of United Health Care, aka the largest health insurance company in the United States. Now allegedly, United Health Care denies more claims every year than any other health insurer. So a lot of Americans really hate this company, including me. F*** them. And so Brian is just arriving to the hotel for an investor's conference,
probably to talk about his record profit margins or whatever. But then Luigi sees him walking up and he walks right up behind him and he aims his pew-pew at him and he shoots him in the back. And Brian stumbles and he falls to the ground. And the whole thing is caught on security footage, which I can't show you the murder, but you can see Brian here and obviously Luigi is here. So anyway, Luigi shoots him, mission accomplished. And he knows he needs to get the hell out of there before police show up. So he jumps on one of those bike-share e-bikes and he flees. And you can actually see him on surveillance footage here, passing by. And so he rides over to Central Park and he ditches the bike and his backpack and his jacket and he hails a cab. And eventually he ends up at Penn Station. From there, allegedly, he gets on a train and he flees to Philadelphia. And so Luigi's long gone. His plan worked, he made his escape. And Brian, as you already know, he doesn't make it. But then the news breaks.
Tonight the urgent manhunter New York City after the CEO of one of America's largest health insurers was fatally shot in a brazen targeted attack. And as crazy as the story is, it doesn't really catch fire with the general public until the public learns about the bullet casings, the ones that had the words denied defend, to pose that's on them. Because this suddenly lets everyone know that the shooter's motive was likely tied to being denied health insurance coverage. Something that nearly every American adult has experienced or will experience in their lifetime. And so real quick, you people who aren't from the United States, I don't think you quite understand. In America, the health insurance business is all run by private corporations. There is no public option. So even if you have insurance and you get sick or injured, the insurance companies will very often figure out ways to not have to cover you. Even though you're paying them every month, doesn't matter. They will find a way to not cover you. It's a really fucked up system that the general public is absolutely fed up with.
And so people learn that Luigi unalive this healthcare CEO and they start going ape shit. Like people online are defending him, saying the shooting was justified. People start putting up wanted posters of other healthcare CEOs. Luigi gets a ton of fans. His social media accounts quickly blow up with hundreds of thousands of new followers before social media platforms take them all down a few hours later. And people are like reposting shirtless pictures of him, thirst trapping over him, like, oh my god, he's so fine. I mean, people on TikTok are talking about how attractive he is. Every woman in America is thirsting so hard for this Luigi mangeone guy. Yes, he's objectively attractive. And so people from all sides of the political spectrum are cheering him on because he suddenly become a representative of every Americans frustration with the US healthcare system. Meanwhile, the NYPD is on a manhunt for Luigi. And they release a few photos of their person of interest that they don't really know who he is. And he covered his tracks well enough that they can't find him.
So the NYPD offers a $10,000 reward for any tips leading to his arrest. Then the FBI offers a $50,000 reward. But so far, no one is snitching because a lot of people think he's a hero. So then five days go by since the shooting. And Luigi, he's been hiding out this whole time and he ends up in Altona, Pennsylvania. And at one point, I guess he gets hungry like we all do and he decides to go eat at a local McDonald's. And while he's there, another customer feels like they recognize him and they tell an employee and that employee calls 911. Minutes later, police show up and bam, they finally arrest him. Here's his mug shot. And here's some more footage of him. He's in police custody. Anyway, so he's in jail now waiting on his trial which will probably happen sometime in 2025. And it's gonna be an absolute circus. But I'm sure we'll cover it and I'll keep you updated. So this woman is about to assassinate a famous pop star.
So let's call her Yo. And Yo's around 30 years old, she's living in Texas and one night in the early 90s, she's at a concert. And there's this local act on stage. And Yo is blown away by the singer. She's like, this woman is amazing. I love her. I am such a huge fan. Not only that, Yo goes home and she starts thinking about her all the time. She wants to be best friends with this singer and be close to her. So she decides to start a fan club, like an official fan club. And she contacts the singer's manager who's also the singer's dad. So we'll just call him dad. So Yo reaches out to dad and she's like, do you mind if I start a fan club? Dad's like, I don't know. We don't really have the time or the budget to run a fan club. And Yo's like, no, no, I'll do it all for free. You don't have to pay me. And dad is still like, nah. But Yo isn't gonna give up. She keeps calling dad over and over again. She really wants to be close to the singer. And so finally, after about 15 phone calls,
dad finally agrees to let her start an official fan club. So Yo starts working on this out of her home. And she's running this fan club and she's going to concerts and she's signing people up and the fans pay a membership fee and Yo will then send them posters and t-shirts and stuff like that. And she legitimately does a good job running this club. In fact, she does such a good job that management eventually lets her meet the singer herself in person. And that singer's name is Selena. And so over time, as the years pass, Yo starts to get in good with Selena. She's helping her out with things and she's starting to get close to her. And later, they even make her an employee of the business and they start paying her. And pretty soon, she's scheduling appointments for Selena and basically running her life. While Selena, her star is rising fast and she's getting more and more famous. And as a side hustle, she opens two clothing boutiques and Yo is doing such a good job assisting Selena.
They promote her and they have her start managing these boutiques. And so here she is running all this stuff for Selena and she's around her all the time and Yo knows soon enough she'll finally be her close friend. Until. At some point, Yo screws everything up. She starts skimming money from the business. I mean, she's managing the finances for the clothing boutiques and she's still managing the finances for the fan club and she starts writing checks to herself and making up fake invoices. So over time, the clothing boutiques start losing money. Plus, while she's scamming all this money, she's still hyper focused on trying to get Selena to be close to her. Like one time, she collects $3,000 from employees of the company to buy Selena a gift, like a gift from all the employees. And they collectively decide to buy Selena a ring with diamonds and the diamonds are in like an egg shaped. Looks like this because Selena is a big fan of Fabricet eggs.
And so Yo takes this $3,000 from the employees and she pockets it. And then she goes out and buys the ring with Selena's company credit card. Not only that, she then gives the ring to Selena and pretends it's not a gift from all the employees but that it's a gift only from her. And of course, Selena loves the ring and she's so grateful for it. Here's a photo of her actually wearing it and you can see it on her hand here. And she totally thinks, yo, got it for her alone and she's like, yo, we're gonna be best friends for life. And so yo, finally has what she wants. This woman, she's been obsessing over for years is now her close friend. Meanwhile, dad, who's still managing Selena and the whole business, he notices that there's all this money missing from the boutiques and from the fan club. And he starts looking at the books and he's like, hey, these numbers aren't adding up. And so he investigates and he discovers all those checks, Yo was writing to herself and a bunch of other evidence
and he's like, this asshole is stealing from us. And so bam, he relieves her of her duties with the company. And this is where everything starts to go wrong because this is when Yo goes out and buys a pupe. A few months later, tax season rolls around. And Yo, who was Selena's assistant and managed to finance us for two of her business entities for her has some financial documents that Selena needs to get from her. And yo, keep saying that she'll hand over these documents but she doesn't. She's always making up excuses as to why she can't. Then, right before taxes are due, Selena finally gets her on the phone and she's like, give me my tax documents. And yo is like, okay fine, I'm over at this motel. You can come here and pick them up. And so Selena goes to this motel and she goes up to the room and Yo gives her a stack of documents. The next morning, Selena is looking through all that paperwork and she realizes that the specific tax paper she needs still aren't in this stack.
Yo never actually gave them to her. So she gets on the phone with her again and instead of talking about tax papers, Yo starts making more excuses, talking about how she had been SAed recently on a trip to Mexico and that she can't give her the tax documents because she really needs to go to the hospital and get herself checked out because she's bleeding from all the SA. And so Selena, being the nice person that she is, she wants to help and she drives over to the motel to pick her up and take her to the hospital. And there at the hospital, Dr. Xamance Yo and finds no indication that she was ever SAed, suggesting that she made it all up and that it's just another elaborate excuse to not hand over those tax documents. And Selena learns about this and she is not happy. So she drives Yo back to the motel and she goes inside the room with her and she's like, I need those financial papers now. Stop bullshitting and Yo is just not gonna hand them over. And so they start arguing and Selena gets really mad,
like really mad and she's had enough. And so she takes off that egg-shaped ring that Yo had given her, the ring that symbolized them being friends for life. And this absolutely destroys Yo. I mean, how could she do this to her? This friendship was everything she had worked for. And so she pulls out that pupew that she had bought before and she points it right at Selena. And Selena's like, oh shit! And she tries to run away and then, bam, Yo shoots her right in the back shoulder. But Selena just keeps running out of the motel room and outside while Yo continues chasing her, screaming, bitch! Like she's gonna shoot her again. And so Selena runs into the lobby of the motel and she tells him, I've been shot! And she falls to the floor. Minutes later, she's in an ambulance on her way to the hospital. Meanwhile, police, they show up to the motel and they're now looking for Yo. So they search around and they eventually find her in the parking lot sitting in her red pickup truck.
And police are like, come out with your hands up or whatever. And Yo is like, nah, I'm just gonna unalive myself. And so this turns into a whole standoff. And then the SWAT team shows up and they're all trying to negotiate with her, trying to get her to not unalive herself. And as all this is going on, Selena, who's at the hospital in critical condition, she unfortunately passes away. She was only 23 years old. Thank you, Van, that's right. We are standing by live in Corpus Christi right across the street from the days in where this shooting did occur earlier today. And nine hours go by and it's nighttime now. And Yo is still in her truck in the motel parking lot in a standoff surrounded by police because she's still got that pupe and she's still threatening to unalive herself. Now eventually she does give up and police swoop in and bam, they arrest her. Here's her mug shot. And she ends up going to trial and she's found guilty and she gets sentenced to life
in prison. It's a sad one. So this guy really, really hates the government. Now the guy's name is Tim. And Tim, he's about 23 when this story starts and he's living in Michigan. And as I said, Tim, he's the kind of guy who really loves guns, but he really hates the government. So one day in 1991, he gets out of the army and he becomes sort of a drifter and a regular on the gun show circuit where he's traveling from state to state and from gun show to gun show. And there he sells military supplies and ammo and sometimes guns and stuff like that. But that's not the only thing he does there. He also rants and complains about the government to anyone who will listen. He passes out far right extremist pamphlets and anti-government flyers and he is die hard about this. In fact, this is all he does. He doesn't have a regular job or anything like that. He sleeps in his car or on friends' couches
and he travels to gun shows and sell things and preaches this extremism to people. And about a year goes by. And then in 1992, something crazy happens. Some federal agents in Idaho get into a shootout with a guy and they kill some members of the guy's family in the standoff. And this pisses Tim off and he thinks the government was in the wrong. The next year in 1993, the fed sees a religious compound in Waco, Texas and they get into a shootout with the people of the compound and the place ends up burning down and a bunch of people unfortunately die. And this pisses Tim off even more and he becomes convinced that both of these incidents prove that the government is willing to murder its own citizens and he is not about to let this slide. So he decides to get revenge and blow up a federal building with a bunch of people in it because he believes that once he does that, this will start a political revolution.
That all of these concerned citizens will see how right he is and they'll join his cause. So in 1994, he gets to work on this plan and he starts building explosives. Now during this time, he's sort of staying on and off with his friend in Kansas, this guy, Terry Nichols. And so Tim and Terry Nichols, they start experimenting with different types of explosives in remote fields and on back roads, blowing up buckets and barrels and just other types of containers. Then that same year, the federal government pisses Tim off again. Because Congress passes a ban on certain types of assault weapons and President Clinton signs it into law and Tim loses his mind over this. He sees this as confirmation that the government is gonna come and take his guns away and he is not about to let that happen. And so this motivates him to move on to the next phase of his plan, choosing a target to bomb.
So he starts traveling through the region, looking for the perfect building to blow up. He drives through Kansas City, Little Rock, Dallas, but at some point on its journey, he lands in Oklahoma City. And there, he comes across the Alfred P. Murrah building. And he thinks that this is perfect. A bunch of government agencies work out of there, like the ATF and the Department of Transportation and the Secret Service even has a field off as out of there. So this place has a lot of federal workers and it's perfect for him. It's also around this time that he settles on the type of bomb he's gonna use, an anfo truck bomb, which is just fertilizer and some other stuff put into barrels and lined up in the back of a moving truck to create this big bomb. So he starts buying up a bunch of fertilizer and storing it in various locations until he's got enough. And as he's getting the supplies he needs, Terry Nichols is helping him steal dynamite and stuff. So now it's 1995. And Tim is finally ready to put his full plan into motion.
And so he rents a moving truck and he and Terry Nichols load all the stuff in it and then they mix a bunch of stuff together and they make the bombs. Here's the thing though, these two guys, they think they are revolutionaries. But Terry Nichols, he ends up backing out. I mean, he hates the federal government just like Tim, but at the end of it all, he just can't bring himself to murder that many people. Plus, you know, he doesn't wanna get caught. Now, he doesn't try to stop Tim from pulling off this attack or anything, like he doesn't report him to the police. He just doesn't wanna commit the crime himself. So then Tim gets in the moving truck and he drives from Kansas down to Oklahoma and he parks in Ponca City and he sleeps in the truck. Early the next morning, he drives this truck all the way to Oklahoma City to the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building and he parks it out front. Then he lights the fuse that's supposed to set off the bomb and he calmly walks away. And he walks like seven to eight blocks toward a getaway car that he had parked
and then suddenly, cub boom, the moving truck explodes. And this explosion is so big that it can be felt for miles. It immediately shatters windows across a 20 block radius and dark smoke fills the area and everyone feels the ground shake and they're like, what was that? And the Murrah Building, Tim's target collapses almost instantly. Floors, pancake downward onto one another and this leaves a large void where offices had once been. At about 600 people, mostly civilian federal workers are working in the building that day and a lot of them are trapped under the rubble. And the worst part is that the building also has a daycare for the federal workers' kids and it has a little over 20 kids in it and a lot of them are trapped too. So emergency service workers show up and there's a whole rescue mission and they're pulling people out of the rubble one by one and they rescue a lot of them. But unfortunately, this bomb ends up killing 168 people
including 19 kids. Meanwhile, Tim makes it to his getaway car and he gets in real calm and he drives away and he merges onto the highway and he blends in with the rest of traffic and no one suspects he did anything wrong. I mean, everyone is too focused on the chaos of the bombing right now. So he keeps driving north and about an hour and 20 minutes pass and suddenly, woo! He sees flashing blue lights behind him. He's being pulled over. This dumb motherfucker is not only driving above the speed limit but his getaway car doesn't have a license plate on it. So this highway patrolman pulls him over and he makes him get out of the car and the two men they're standing in between both their cars and the officer notices that he's got a bulge in his jacket. So he asks him if he's got a weapon and Tim actually says he does. So the officer detains him and he searches him and he finds that he has a gun on him. And so bam, the officer arrests him.
Here's his mug shot. Meanwhile, back in Oklahoma City, police and the feds, they're investigating the bomb site and they find a blown up axle of the moving truck Tim used. And it still got the vehicle identification number on it and this is a truck that Tim had rented. So they talk to the clerk at the rental agency and they're able to get a composite sketch of the guy who rented the truck, AKA Tim. And from this sketch, they're able to identify Tim who by sheer coincidence, police already had in their custody because he was driving a car without a license plate like a dumbass. And so Tim, he's at the courthouse about to be released but of course, now they're not gonna release him and they throw him back in jail. And eventually, he goes to trial over the bombing and he's found guilty and he's sentenced to death. While Terry Nichols actually turns himself in and even though he had backed out of the plan, he still gets life in prison.
So this guy, he's sort of a YouTuber but do you remember when he tried to kill the president? Now the guy's name is John and John is around 22 when this story all starts, living in California and John, he has kind of a problem. He doesn't have a lot of friends. I mean, he's a loner who no one really pays attention to. But then one day in 1976, his life suddenly changes because he decides to see a popular movie during this time called Taxi Driver, starring a young Robert De Niro. And John, he ends up loving this movie like he becomes obsessed with it. So he goes back to see it and he watches it over and over and over again. And he sees it at least 15 times because the thing is, John really relates to the main character, a guy who's a loner who no one really pays attention to. And as he's watching this movie over and over again, he starts to become more and more like the main character. Like he starts dressing like him,
wearing an army fatigue jacket and boots and he starts drinking the same alcohol and he even starts getting into guns. But that's not the only thing he starts getting into. Over the course of watching this movie so many times, he starts to fall in love with one of the characters. A character played by this actor, Jody Foster. And the more John watches, the more obsessed with Jody he becomes. Not the character she plays, but with Jody herself. Now, there's obviously a huge problem with this. Not only is she a famous Hollywood actor, but she's also only 13 while John is 22. But I guess John doesn't care. He continues to obsess over her and think about her and he's convinced that he's gonna meet her one day. And so years pass and it's now 1980 and he is still infatuated with this teen actress he's never met. Now at this point, Jody is 17 about to turn 18
and she's doing pretty well for herself. She's actually going to college at Yale. And John learns that she's going to school there and he decides it's time to pay her a little visit. So he flies from Colorado where he now lives all the way over to Connecticut where Yale is. Once he gets there, he quickly finds Jody and he begins to stalk her. Like he figures out which dorm she's staying in and he starts leaving her love notes and poems in her mailbox. And I guess when that doesn't really work, he figures out her dorm phone number and he starts calling her. He even talks to her briefly on the phone a couple of times and he tells her that he's the one who's been leaving notes for her. And Jody is of course totally creeped out by all this and she tells him to stop. But John, he's so obsessed with her that he actually records some of these calls. Oh no, not you, Chad. Look, I really said something, okay? You understand why I can't carry on these conversations
with people, I don't know. You understand that Stadius not fair is rude. Oh, all right? Well, I understand that, but this just isn't the same thing, okay? So you just don't ever want this phone? No. And so anyway, she tells him to stop, but of course, John doesn't stop. So Jody has to stop answering the phone. She even hands all of his love letters over to the dean at Yale and reports him. But see, John isn't gonna give up. He's determined to impress her and win her over. So he comes up with a new plan. He's gonna do exactly what the main character in taxi driver does in the movie. He's going to assassinate a political figure and the political figure he targets is the president of the United States during this time, Jimmy Carter, who's actually running for re-election. And so John gets to work and he makes an attempt to get close to him. Because Carter is currently in Ohio
doing a campaign rally. And there, there are a lot of people at this event and John actually gets within 20 feet of Carter so close enough to shoot him. But he doesn't have his gun with him. He doesn't even really have a coherent plan at this point. He just wanted to see if he could get close enough to a president to attack him. Now that he knows that he can get close enough, John decides that he's gonna try again, but for real this time. So he goes to Nashville where Carter is having another campaign rally. This time he's ready. He made sure to pack multiple handguns in his luggage. But while John is in the airport in Nashville, he has to go through security. And security ends up stopping him and they find the handguns in his suitcase. And so bam, he gets arrested. However, a few hours later, he gets released. And he only has to pay a small fine. I guess laws just weren't as strict about guns in the airport back then.
I don't know. But now, John has a new problem. Police have confiscated all his guns. But no worries. Four days later, he goes to a pawn shop and he buys some more. Now, here's where it gets even crazier. So the presidential election happens, right? And Jimmy Carter actually loses to his opponent, Ronald Reagan. And John, see, he's still trying to get Jody's attention. So now he's not going to target a former president like Carter. He wants to assassinate the sitting president. So his target shifts from Carter to Reagan. And of course, he feels like he needs to update Jody during all this and let her know what he's about to do. So he sends her a postcard of Reagan's inauguration and he writes some cryptic bulls on it about, one day you and I will occupy the White House. Please try your best to remain a virgin. This is an actual image of that postcard. So anyway, in 1981, John finally sets his assassination plan into motion.
And he takes a Greyhound bust over to Washington, DC. And there, he checks into a hotel. And he ends up reading the newspaper, which lays out Reagan's schedule. And according to this schedule, Reagan will be giving a speech in a couple of hours. So he writes one last letter to Jody. And then he loads up his gun. Then he heads over to this hotel where Reagan is going to be giving that speech. And as John expected, after the speech, Reagan comes out of the hotel and he's got a few secret service agents and staff around him. And as he's walking, he's waving to everyone there to see him and whatnot. And that is when John appears in the middle of a crowd of reporters and he pulls out his gun. And blam, blam, blam, blam, blam. He shoots at Reagan. Now, most of his shots miss and they hit other people. But one of them actually ricochets off the Bulletproof limousine and hits Reagan.
So the secret service immediately gets Reagan and they toss him into a limo. And the limo drives him to the hospital. While other secret service agents grab John and they wrestle him to the ground and bam, they arrest him. Here's his mug shot. Now, luckily, all the people who John shot that day survived. But one of them unfortunately died years later due to complications from his injuries from the shooting. And so ultimately, John goes to trial and he's actually found not guilty by reason of insanity. So he actually doesn't go to prison. He ends up getting sent to a psychiatric facility for treatment. 34 years later, in 2016, John is deemed no longer a danger to society and he gets released. And so now this guy, this former presidential assassin, is out here living his best life. Like he started a YouTube channel where he posts videos.
So he's like somewhat of a YouTuber and he writes a lot of music and he posts that there. Hello, everybody. This is an original song I wrote not long ago. I mean, he spent decades in treatment and supposedly he now says he's fully rehabilitated. So good for him. So this guy pulled off the biggest Ponzi scheme in history, about $60 billion. Damn. Now, the guy's name is Bernie. And Bernie's 22 when this story starts and he's living in New York. And Bernie, he's a market maker. Someone who helps buyers and sellers match up in the stock market. And he's doing well for himself. I mean, he's making some money. However, the guy's just not satisfied. He wants to make more, a lot more, even if he has to break the law to do it. So one day in 1960, he starts an investment advisory firm on the side. Basically, he advises his clients on how to invest their money and he'll also invest it for them.
But here's the problem with that though. He doesn't register his firm with the SEC. So technically, it's illegal. But whatever, this works for him. He takes his clients' money and he invests it for them. And he and them are making some gains. But then, something terrible happens. In 1962, the stock market crashes. And the money all gets wiped out. And Bernie, he doesn't know what to do. He doesn't want to ruin his reputation. So he decides to not tell his clients that he lost all their money. And instead, he low-key borrows money to cover the losses. And I guess the clients see that he didn't lose any of their money and they're like, oh, he's sh**t! The market crashed and Bernie didn't lose my money. So now, they trust him even more and they give him even more money to invest for them. So he keeps going. But here's the important thing you need to know about Bernie. He's actually running two different businesses parallel to one another.
A legitimate business and a shady business. And so anyway, about a decade passes. And it's now the 1970s. And early computers are starting to take off. And Bernie, who's actually a pretty smart guy, he becomes one of the first people to use computers for trading, which makes his work faster and brings in tons more money. And so his legitimate business keeps growing. Now, fast-forward several decades. And it's now the 1990s. And Bernie's market-making firm, his legitimate business, becomes one of the biggest in the US. And he's making millions of dollars. But for whatever reason, he keeps his illegal investment advisory business going. His shady business. And over time, he turns that shady business into a full-on Ponzi scheme. And like Bernie tells his investors that he's trading stocks and stuff for them. But in reality, he's not.
He only pretends to. Instead, each month he goes through the newspapers, picks out the best stocks that did the best. And he generates fake transactions that show that he bought them just before they went up. That way, it seems like he's always buying winners. And investors see all this money being made, and they're like, f**king sweet. And they tell their friends and families how good Bernie is and investing their money. And soon a ton of people are lining up to invest with Bernie. Not just ultra-wealthy people, but universities, nonprofit organizations, and several pension funds, holding the life savings of thousands of retirees, they start investing their money with him. So now, Bernie's managing billions of dollars. And with this much money pouring in, he's able to offer average returns of up to 15%, which is great. Now, normally, these kinds of returns would raise red flags among the investors. Like, damn, how am we making this much money?
Well, this can't possibly be legal. But since they're all making huge returns, I guess they don't look too closely at how Bernie might be doing it. I guess they just don't want to ruin a good thing. But here's where the story gets crazy. It's now the year 2000, and a lot of people think Bernie is a financial genius. But not everyone is fooled. Specifically, this guy, his name's Harry. And Harry, he's a financial analyst and to him, Bernie's numbers just don't add up. It all seems very suspicious. So he files a complaint with the SEC telling them that Bernie's gains are mathematically impossible. However, the SEC doesn't take action. And a year goes by. And it's now 2001. And a finance magazine called Barons publishes an article questioning how Bernie is able to pull off such high steady returns. Now, this article actually does catch the SEC's attention
because it mentions Bernie's shady business, not as legitimate one. And remember, this shady business isn't registered, so it's not supposed to exist. So the SEC starts looking into him. And once Bernie finds out that they're looking into him, he freaks the hell out. He's like, oh shit! And he hires these two computer programmer guys to fix this for him. And he tells them to create thousands of fake transactions and detailed records that look really real so that the SEC won't suspect that he's scamming anyone. And these computer programmers, they do their job. I mean, they spend several hours doing all this. And ultimately, it works. In 2004, the SEC shows up to audit Bernie and they clear him. I guess they really didn't dig all that deep. Here's the thing now. Harry, he's not about to give up. He still convinced that Bernie's business is a con and that millions could be lost if it ever collapses.
So he keeps hitting up the SEC multiple times. He sends them detailed information. He sends them mathematical proof that Bernie's returns just can't be real. And that the only explanation for returns like these is that Bernie's running the largest Ponzi scheme in the world. But unfortunately, yet again, the SEC just doesn't seem to take him as seriously as they should. Although over the next two years, the SEC does audit Bernie five different times and somehow he passes every single time. I think he's showing them fraudulent documents and they just aren't digging all that deep. Now, of course, while all this is going on, Bernie's been making a ton of money from this. So he's out here living the life. He's got four houses, including a Manhattan pin house. He's got three yachts. He also pays his staff, the ones who are helping him run his Ponzi scheme. He pays them huge salaries and they also spend it on nice cars and houses and shit.
And so it looks like Bernie and his team are just unstoppable and they're going to keep going and they'll never ever be caught. Until a few more years pass and it's now 2007, 2008. And something crazy happens. Boom, the global financial crisis hits. Banks are collapsing, the stock markets crashing. People in every industry are losing tons of money. But somehow Bernie's firm is still reporting steady gains, about 1% every month. Regardless, Bernie's investors are nervous. Like what if his firm takes a hit next? So even though their accounts look fine, they start hitting him up and demanding to withdraw their money. Here's the problem with that though. On paper, Bernie's Ponzi scheme has billions of dollars. But in reality, there's only about 300 million left in his bank. But the amount of withdrawal requests from his investors is about 1.5 billion.
And Bernie doesn't have 1.5 billion. And this is where his Ponzi scheme starts to fall apart. And old Bernie, he starts freaking out and he's calling investors and begging them to give him cash to keep things afloat. But no one is willing to help. And that is when it begins to dawn on Bernie that the end is finally near. So he calls his wife and his two sons together and he confesses everything. He tells them he's been running a Ponzi scheme all along and that in total he defrauded more than 40,000 people and took somewhere between 20 and 60 billion dollars from investors, including big names like Kevin Bacon and Larry King and Stephen Spielberg. And so his sons go and they do the right thing and they report him to the FBI. But see, Bernie, he knows what's coming. Like he knows the whole world is about to turn on him and his family. And so on Christmas Eve, he and his wife decide that they want to unalive themselves.
And they take a bunch of pills. But for whatever reason, it doesn't work. They don't die. And so soon, FBI agents show up to his house and bam, they arrest him. Here's his mark shot. And ultimately, he pleads guilty to all kinds of fraud and he gets sentenced to 150 years in prison. And in 2021, Bernie dies in prison of natural causes. So one night, these two brothers bust into their parents' living room and they're each holding a pupew. And they start blasting, bam, bam. And they unalive their own parents. So the brothers, their names are Eric and Lyle and they're 18 and 21. And these two are living the dream. They live in Beverly Hills with their parents, their family is rich because their dad has some kind of Hollywood executive. But then one day, Eric and Lyle decide they've had enough of their parents and they want to get rid of them for good. A few days later, their mom and dad, who will just call mom and dad, mom and dad are chilling in the living room watching TV.
And suddenly, boom, Eric and Lyle bust into the room and they're holding shotguns and they just start blasting. Like, bam, bam, they shoot dad six times. And the bam, they shoot mom ten times and dad dies immediately. But mom, she's still alive, but she's hurt and she's trying to crawl away. So the brothers run back outside to Eric's car where the ammo is. And then they reload and then Lyle shoots mom one last time and unalives her. The brothers then decide they need to cover their tracks. So they shoot mom and dad both in the knee to make it look like a mafia hit. And then they pick up all the shell casing so they can get rid of them. And then they drive to a nearby movie theater and they buy two tickets to see Batman because seeing the movie is going to be their alibi. And after Batman, they return to the family home and that's when they call 911. And they tell the operator they had just come home from the movie theater and they found their parents they're dead. Minutes later, police show up in Eric and Lyle tell them the same thing. That they just came home and found their parents there. And it works. Police believe them. I mean, in that moment, they have no reason to suspect them of any wrongdoing. In fact, police see that mom and dad had been shot in the kneecaps and they start thinking,
well, maybe this was a mafia hit. So basically, the brothers have just successfully gotten away with murder. And I don't know if they're celebrating or what, but pretty quickly they go out and with their dead dad's money, they start spending like crazy. They buy a couple of luxury condos, a Jeep Wrangler, a Porsche, a Rolex, Ericires a $50,000 a year tennis coach, and Lyle buys a whole ass Buffalo Wings restaurant. So within six months, the brothers had spent $700,000 of their dad's fortune. I mean, from the looks of it, things seem to be going pretty great for them. Until this guy tries to impress his girlfriend and he screws everything up. We'll just call him Doc. Now, Doc is a psychiatrist and one day he gets a little too close to one of his patients and they start smashing. We'll just call the patient Mistress. Now, Doc is married with kids, but he doesn't care. He just keeps on smashing with Mistress on the regular. Now, Mistress isn't his only patient. Doc also has other patients, including one name Eric and another named Lyle.
And Doc, he has regular therapy sessions with both Eric and Lyle. And one day in one of those sessions, Eric comes out and tells Doc that he and Lyle had unalived their parents. And while Doc hears this and he continues to counsel them, he actually ends up tape recording one of their therapy sessions. So here's the thing about Doc. He apparently likes to flex. And when he's not at work, he likes to gossip about his patients to Mistress. And one day, he basically tells her, and by the way, those brothers in the news Eric and Lyle, they're my clients and they totally unalived their parents. They told me so. And then months later, Doc and Mistress's affair ends. And their breakup is apparently ugly, like real ugly. Allegedly, he assaults her. So Mistress, she gets pissed off and she's like, this guy, and she steals Doc's tape recordings of his session with Eric and Lyle. And she takes them straight to the police because she wants to get Doc in trouble by accusing him of knowing about the murder, but not reporting it. So police listen to the tapes and they hear Eric and Lyle confessing to unaliving their parents.
And they go out and they immediately arrest Lyle. Well, Eric turns himself in a few days later. So here's Eric's mug shot and here's Lyle's. So now the brothers are in jail and they're charged with murder. And they might get the death penalty for this and this scares the **** out of them. So they sit in jail for three years before they finally get to go to trial. And there, the state argues that Eric and Lyle unalive their parents because they wanted to inherit their parents' fortune, which is why they were outspending all that money. But Eric and Lyle, they argue that they did it because their dad had subjected them to years of mental, physical, and sexual abuse. And they argue that getting rid of their parents was the only way out of that toxic situation. It's sort of a self-defense argument. Now, this self-defense argument is important because it would give them a manslaughter conviction instead of a murder conviction. And a manslaughter conviction would have a much lighter sentence. So six months later, both sides have made their argument and the trial ends. And unfortunately, they end up with a hung jury. So it's a mistrial. Then a year and a half later, they go back to court to try again with a new jury.
But this time, the judge doesn't allow the brothers to present the allegations of physical and sexual abuse to the jury because of some legal precedent or something, which means this time the jury doesn't even have the option to convict them of manslaughter instead of murder. So of course, then Eric and Lyle are both found guilty of first-degree murder. And while lucky for them, they don't get the death penalty. They're both sentenced to life in prison without parole. But here's the crazy thing. 27 years later, a former member of the famous boy band, Menudo, he comes forward with new information. He claims that back in the 80s, when he was 14, he was also a victim of sexual abuse by Eric and Lyle's dad. Because remember, dad was a Hollywood executive and he worked with Menudo at the time. And this accusation is important because it gives credibility to the brothers' claim that their dad had been abusing them all those years. And if that's true, and if the brothers had proven in court that they had been abused by their dad, that would greatly strengthen their self-defense argument. And they would have gotten that manslaughter conviction instead of that murder conviction.
And they would be out of prison by now. So now with this new evidence and some other evidence people found, Eric and Lyle are actively petitioning to get out of prison. But for now, they're still there. Here's Eric's updated mug shot. And here's Lyle's. So shout out to Beverly Hills.
