Hello and welcome to another reaction and a reaction series I guess of podcasts we're about all over the place I'm your host Christopher Gallagher we're going to react to Celtics to each draw it turns out again strangers at Ibrox delighted to say I'm joined by our very good friend Colin Keirney hello Colin how are you sir? Hello I'm well I feel like we are essential workers at the minute reacting to these goddamn games it's like a Covid throwback kind of like what's happening in the bench but yes yes we're here to to get you through it we're

we're watching it so you don't have to and boy did some of you not watch it yes I are you all feeling now eh eh eh and if we done uh you know sometimes we do podcasts where we talk about it at the beginning of the match we don't be preview the beginning we do a preview a half time and then obviously we do the wee bit at the end how furious would you have been half time Colin eh apoplectic eh the beforehand I think I like full disclosure I said we're going to get pumped I really thought that we were and we were going to get smacked about and at halftime I would have been see told you and would have been yeah they'd have been cussing um there was cussing there was definitely some cussing um but the listeners years are not potty so we'll try and keep that tim in them I said to you to start the game it would be a draw day and worry would make an error that would cost a goal and there would be a penalty involved now I didn't think the penalty would come

for us um but yeah it kind of worked out that way what a fucking weird game of football again um it's just uh does part of me that is really an awe of coming back all the time there's a part of me that's frustrated that we can't start the games the way we finish them um uh some players start some weeks and they're terrible and they come on as subs the next week and they're great and vice versa and you've got the start team isn't the right team but the team that comes on and end the team that comes on starts and then the next week and it's just a bit odd all it's all trying to react to this just it's quite it's quite insane and we have half time substitutes more often than not now which is normally a sign of things really you first time yet aha and um yeah it's just it's just been absolutely crazy uh but are you positive right now? well I was about to say what I'm taking from this is I'm going to try and and I think we've all been doing this mind exercise throughout the season is like I'm going to try and take this as a

deposit of because how dominant we were on the second half the fact that we did claw way back it was still a scrappy hugely inconsistent performance um and but the thing is the way it was going it was terrifying and we've got a two old draw which kind of like it's kind of keeps you at least the sort of title hopes alive but also we've got a game of them in the same place next week yeah and I think if we were off the back of a pasting it would have just made things even more difficult for us so um that's good I think I think over the piece this result will help us more in that tie than them um here's a listen just this is in no way um Michael will hear a message that half time and I think he probably is relevant to what uh how we were feeling half time this isn't thrown him under the bus because I think this was all how we were feeling uh not at all unexpected but no less embarrassing men against boys

then more money fuck me they need to start getting the manager search under way now because he's sure as fuck won't have started it already that Michael I think sims up exactly how we were all feeling to um that's just that at a point from a half time um from Michael kind of very well put game of two halves it's a cliche for our reason uh before we kind of get into the meat of this game we just aren't very good now halfway through the first half they looked like the Harlem Globetrotters and a lot of that was most of that was to do with how we we were playing in the second half you saw how vulnerable and how how much we can actually counter against them if we play right um is there a blue I'm going to ask you a question that maybe I'd prepare for but is there a blueprint for how to beat them next season uh next week and is that blueprint just getting their face and be as physical as them I think that um that's it's got to be because I don't understand how

I think this season people see that it can press us and we lose possession and we're not composed and our passing is bad and our touches are bad and our decision making is bad so I've reasonably organized press like creates results and um and our press is always seems a little bit half-assed it always seems a little bit either like it's really just the player's decision it's not sure and it's not a sort of coherent um sort of game plan and as you say like when they were when they were sort of remotely pressed they they did look a bit uh they looked very shaky and um that second half was we were as dominant in the second half as they they were in this in the in the first and um we probably actually generated more chances in the second half and they did over the whole game actually so uh and that's comes from more aggression and um also not just trying to

like forget about your midfield our midfield has to do so much more linking because it does seem like it's the defensive line trying to get the ball forward for the forward line to hold it up and then wait for everybody to arrive just doesn't really work and so um I think the midfield has so much work to do in connecting our generally but yeah we just need to be more aggressive and more confident I just felt we in this in the first half we just looked scared yeah that that that's kind of how I I I felt it do you think that um with that sort of um it just feels like we're picking the wrong team to start and it's almost like you start wrong and you have to wreck on it and then when you wreck on it it ends up kind of where you where you wanted to beat the start and we need to learn from that I guess I mean as much as I was saying it kind of flips back and forth but um what impressed you most about the subs that came on today it just kind of I think was wrestling control of the midfield it just it was good I don't know you hate that but he was

good um not like a tidy was good and also the thing is it's a tidy we all get frustrated with him and um we were curial as the as the touch word for that and um but like I was quite pleased to see Chamberlain starting because I was like oh I think he's got a bit of class and I think they'll be it maybe give us a bit of composure but you can't say a 14 that lack of game fitness just just looked really really apparent and and if he came on like later in the game when there was a bit you know some flagging Rangers players maybe he would get a bit more time in the ball because um I don't know if anybody can I caught this but um everybody's a fabulous footballer if they're given time in the ball so Chris boyted that um they said that pre-match and I just tickles it's just that everyone's a great football after they get time in the ball what what not me Chris you're sick clearly never seen as what I play five of sides um but in regards um

to the actual lineup let's get into the kind of the the meeting drink of it um um start eleven centicellowing goals uh which was big positive cashmaker wasn't on the bench so you had centicellowing goals you had Aracho, Murray Scales and Tierney, McGregor, Oxley Chamberlain and Negrin and up front you had Adamu, Maida and Yang on the bench no cashmaker again you're doing you had Chavanshira, you had Macau and Tuneke, Sarecchi, Hattati, Arthur, Forest and Donovan now the big question the big comment the big decision was a cashmaker Martin Neil came out and said our cash bar fell ill this morning and uh couldn't play um purly was the word purly said um how much do you believe with that again I guess it doesn't matter but like do you do you think that he there was an excuse putting place to have light having to

make a decision or maybe he was purly what's your thoughts it's a fig leaf it's I mean it I think centicell will thoroughly deserve to start um and did you think you deserve to continue after today's performance yes I do yeah I do I think he's he looks much more game fit he seems to read the game better I don't think you I think you'd have to be quite unkind to to think that he was at fault for the goals um and I just saw several things happen today that I think especially Michael would not have got a hold of and I'm talking about basic things about coming out off your line collecting the ball given a bit of confidence to that back line um I think okay he's purly sure um uh but there's it I don't know I just think the whole goalkeeping situation is is so odd and he stuck with Schmickle so on so whether or not it's a he centicell got picked Schmickle spits the dummy and refuses to you know and and this is just

guessing but I can see he seems like quite a churlish character yeah I don't think you've got a lot of people in the the the support who are particularly on his side I think most people just won once in a cell to start and today he was pretty good yeah I did think he was pretty good and um there was no bomb scare moments I mean I know we can see the two goals and but the first goal is a really remarkable finish and when you see it from the angle from behind where the the ball is kicked from you normally those kind of bicycle kicks can it go straight straight yeah or the or the go wild but he directs it in a real angle and I don't think keepers are going to be saving that generally um second goal is where I don't think yeah exactly and the thing is you know he'll be I think he can come out with with past marks and I think the second half it was if you're taking a half by half I think centicell is literally the only Celtic player that comes out of past marks

and we can see the two goals yeah um let me let me actually this right because this will be discussed probably over the next couple of games day and money he's a player who can play really well for 85 minutes but he's always kind of going to make a mistake that either causes a big opportunity or causes a goal now you could say that um the the the second goal I don't think he's completely fault now the ball comes to him currently ducks because he thinks that he's going to put his laces through it he slices it it bounces but they're still work to be done I'll host still there and stuff like that but day and money I thought was pretty solid in the second half as well um he's physically you know there's a couple of times where he does you know he's not always successful but he always tries to use the ball the right way which I think is certainly a positive um but it's just that idea that he probably will at least give up because every game he's played he's giving up a one by easy their cost of goal or he's giving up huge I mean even the living

sting game when we beat them um when Brad and I just still manager he gave up like a big opportunity that Livingston just didn't take and again I'm not like I'm not operating on but I just think that's the fact of it yeah but also our centerbacks quite often have those kind of stakes and we've got two starting centerbacks that have done exactly those things in games they just have a larger sample sample size so it's drowned out by the sheer amount of performances day and money has had made these high I think a bit car style throughout when he first started and he made like a very obvious blupper and then it was just that way he was yeah and I know day and more he's made maybe made a few more of those errors but also he's played so inconsistently so little and yeah so few minutes but the thing I really liked from today was like see that swiff and that swig in the mess he does like you're like what the hell but he does have cover and it's I don't think I really have himself yeah and and I think that I think you know like the

the intense there but just and it is it's a very kind of it's a very clever finish but we're making this kind of bang average striker look like amazing but I liked the fact that money didn't collapse and I think he he screwed the nut and I thought he's performance going on from his mistake was good and he was winning head or as he was confident and I think that's that shows a potential and I also think if you get give a player like that a run of games they will be able to iron out these things you know and the ball that he does a that he slices it's not like a it's not like a super simple movement I mean obviously he should connect with the ball and it's a mistake but it's still a ball flight it's an awkward height etc etc it probably looks worse than it actually I mean yeah I mean yeah no no it's really hard to defend because it's like right in front of your goal and it is basically you may be taking your eye off the ball for a wee second and you've just missed it and

a I think I think you can earn these things out yeah no no absolutely for me what I would do though is like so see money you have to stick a twist on them now also so there's two things at play right because I'm thinking long-term Martinoni will not be thinking long term Martinoni Martinoni Martinoni will be thinking the next game right and so the next game is obviously the cup game and and no sorry the next game is obviously the game on Wednesday when we play Aberdeen but like you know if trusty comes back if what you call him Murray's played three or four games and he looks okay and trusty comes back and entrustees fired right back in to me there's a part of me that thinks well trusty has made so many high high profile errors over the last couple of games that who's bearing with the ball their feet probably day and money who's a better defender overall I mean I don't know because this is definitely recency bias because you know with

we have good point against Bologna if Murray was in the defense you just don't know he has made so many high profile errors I like him I find him massively frustrating I don't think it's the young boy like he's 223 but like I don't know I'm kind of I thought he recovered well from the goal and he was sold enough at the set in the second half that I'm kind of like okay fine I don't know what I'm with him is it's like a lot of players in this team I also late wildly with what I think of them sometimes half to half and that's just the nature of how we're performing yeah and also it's just it's a real crisis position for us generally yeah and it's really just kind of working out the least terrible option of combination and yeah and it's just a shame I just think that perhaps Dane Murray can't it's about ceilings I guess I think we know the ceilings at loom scales I think we know the ceiling of wasn't trusty and Dane Murray still probably has

some improvement and maybe we should invest in that yeah but also if he keeps making big mistakes again which is to be expected in this run of games it could cost us a thio and that's so you got to weigh up development versus you know specific targets that we need at the moment and I'm not I'm not sure that Martin they'll look at Martin Dane Murray go it's my job to to develop this player for celtech I think you look and say I need one football matches and who's who's less likely to make a mistake but then again I'm like may it might be Dane Murray maybe less likely make a mistake compared to fucking Austin trusty because Austin but trusty I think it's been shite recently oh god that first half you could have had fucking Zeus playing for his at the center back and he probably would have made an ass of it whoa it was well I think if you look at it from the goal keeping perspective right like Sinacella we know I mean I think he's played two games

pretty well but if you make some mistake you're like he's made a mistake cashfish Michael has been chucking in gold season that's it yeah and Austin trusty and lame scales are at fault for so much and it's not just about big mistakes at the back it's also about how they build play and how we lose the ball quite a lot when we're because it because we are using the center backs a lot for our kind of movement of the ball across the pitch and they lose a ball a lot yeah and so it's kind of it's not just about big massive blippers and bomb skiers and all the rest of it is about that's exactly how apart that's that you've absolutely nailed it right because I don't think lame scales makes as many obvious and clear mistakes but he makes mistakes that he makes mistakes from build up and so a ball's played in a midfield maybe the midfield turns and he loses the ball people say oh he's lost the ball but it was actually the pass and yeah so there's lots of kind of ways that first half is really hard to talk about just because it was so fucking poor it's maybe the

poorest we've played in a long time like we were really fucking dreadful it was the epitome of a tough watch it was because you know we were being dominated we're being bullied there was no glimmer of hope it just seemed hopeless because like we weren't get I mean I think a damu barely had to touch the ball I think you think he was doing enough off the ball I I think I think it's a really difficult thing to judge because obviously there was so little service and so but like all the front line you know I think there was a metric that was put up and the few touches you know top three was our third front three but I feel like I've seen from just just kind of like over the course of the season it's where it's Schwanchara a damu maida and that you and actual you know that you've got a centre for who is not being utilized and all they can do is drop deep and maybe sort of

link up play and are the I mean the thing is like to meet you today like at one point was any's half and he did a sliding tackle and stopped an attack and I'm like okay that shouldn't be happening but it was happening because there's a bit and I don't think I can't think of a single thing that a damu did that was you want to impress you want to impress with him and stick out either not particularly and I know that he did like he did well for the goal and but and also it's a really difficult job it's a really really difficult job when you have so little service and we're we're playing in this particular way it doesn't seem that we have worked out away I mean the fact we don't score many goals at all I mean the reason got two goals today is was like was a excellent cross and we actually scored a header which we don't score a lot of headers and we got a penalty which took three goals to get in so um I have sympathy for all our strikers but at the same time I don't think I've seen such an ineffective front line um I said

I think it's the worst front line we've had literally since about nine to nine four so it's before one how don't came in people say that's um complete hyperbole but at the same time I don't there's not one striker that we currently have and obviously you include my death through the middle wait look at them and you think I think you're going to score and I've not felt like that since nine to nine to nine to five we've had worse strikers maybe and maybe this isn't just about the actual personnel it's about the whole system but right now when I'm watching a Celtic striker I don't believe there's going to score a goal which is wild it's it's mad and the thing is like uh Dyson Maida who was our player the year last year um had such a great season and I don't I think even the biggest Dyson stan will be like snoping quite the same this season and I for whatever reason that is I'm not going to analyze that the motivation behind his his precipitous decline but see the stuccar second leg um if Dyson Maida was uh and he's he's not saying it forward we know

that but even if he's that kind of you know when Dyson Maida was scoring before last season he just scored weird goals they'd be bundling them in and you'd be you know they'd be hitting all all parts of these body and we'd just be getting these odd goals because he was in the right place and he was fast and chaotic and then you had last year there was a bit of quality you know he's delivery and he's finishing um I just think that quality has been absent and in stuccar we got that early goal I know it was basically a dead rubber but like that early goal gave optimists like I am optimistic yes um a little bit of encouragement you're like okay maybe we can get you know take this takes a time to see what happens um and Dyson Maida was probably the only player that had any chances in uh to sort of increase in our goal you know uh our goal line and then manager let me ask you this should tell you to come on that game on the on the if you look at both halves and you was it a fair was a draw a fair result or do you think sale to create it more than

majors I think that's a difficult question to answer because the first half was so bad but also when you look at how we made our own mis like we sort of made a news for our next in the first half and we course corrected and we were by far the better team in the second half um I think a draw on average I mean I think it's like a half time you know I was you know even though it draws it's debatable how useful it is because this title race is so tight and stuff but it's at the feet you're right at the feet about the feet would it be knit right so yeah and I and the thing was like I was like I don't think we can I was like I don't think we'll be able to draw a little on one we come out of the draw and I think you're right I think we're the better team in the second half I think we created way much more ham look to the next year and like that but it felt like we were the only team that was going to win it unless we did a first half and create our own stakes and like basically be pressing for the winner and let them in behind but we didn't uh so I

think on balance I think a draw is about fair uh and that's with us having an awful half uh Rangers Rangers I think yeah I thought they were dug me in the second half I I thought I thought we see them at chances we could see how frustrated we have many times we jumped out of the couch because we've dropped into a position and we've rolled the ball out to fucking a player on the edge of the area and they've just ballooned it over the bar and it's like because I said to you there was a point where Nekirin receives the ball in the second half and I'm like it doesn't need to shoot there I know that his instinct is to shoot and that's okay usually that's fine but just hold the ball up there because you had my aid on his right hand side you had I think I don't remember who was overlapped on an open lap and on the left hand side but it's like I get why he shot there but stop the ball and we've done that so many times where actually we it felt like we were there's a certain frantic playing the final third whereas actually see if we take a breath and we can a cool be a little bit more cool coming like they'll try to do everything

100 miles an hour and a final start to feel like and it's with those kind of chances as well I just remember earlier this the season I was listening to something and we were talking about Michelin and how Michelin was this robot who just was calculating percentages with every single ball he received and he was like if he thought that was a high percent you know like he would just do what the percentage told him to do and if it was laying off was the higher percentage when I go you know he wasn't just taking pot shots constantly and I feel that that kind of decision-making calculation is absent from quite a lot of our players and I think I think we've I think they've got it though you think you've got what I think they have I think they have that ability to do what only a bit of things like Negan and I think I think it's not like he's not calculating the chance that the percentage of that particular chance of like so I think always on the spin and taking a shot is always touching go right but he's like I'm the highest

goal in this team we've barely had a no if I don't know I don't know as well so it's a good point I think that's a psychologically that's maybe what's going on but I think in the second half like I just think the finishing we've seen such pure finishing throughout the season and at one Reo had a couple of shots today the first one he took was on target he didn't quite catch it cleanly and it was it was tip round the post and it was a shot on target and we were we were delighted for that but then later he's he arguably has an easier chance with that the one winter actually puts the ball through to him I think so yeah it's cut back to him and he's got a bit of time and his son he's left and he kind of he just gets his angles wrong and he doesn't shape it properly and it goes over the bar and you're like I don't know it's just the I think with a bit you know there's just coming back to consistency again then consistency is wild and what did you

call me you called me a dyes and my the truth or yes not a real with that he truth or I'm sorry Chris Baugh did I dyes and I did a truth or I'm a reo had that he truth or I I've always found him like he's like yes he can be the best player but also like the things like you want your best player like see when the ball comes in like that you want like I should be thinking that he's our best player he's going to buddy that and I'm thinking he's going to blaze that over the bar but you think that everybody and I don't mean you oh yeah 100% yeah yeah but like the that's the things like a reo tie is our best player but also he's not as good as he can be and it just shows a how bad there are set of teammates see our build up of how we create chances right it's not it's not really particularly good at the moment right and I think that's why some of the sometimes you know a damo I think a damo was poor today right so I think people will say and maybe even I might have said like it doesn't matter who you put in that position they're

not going to score there is there is a truth to that but I think a damo off the ball is really really poor what I would argue is if we had went in January and got a really really clinical striker who was oh can you imagine if we went and bought a person on form as opposed to a person imagine if we approach the team to try and get their best player as opposed to who's not playing he's not playing let's buy him as instead of doing that if we went and we bought a player who's on form and scoring goals we paid money for them and some sort of transfer fee I think we'd be quid's in for this this title I think I think that we'd still I think we'd be quid's in we're masters of the false economy and I can't help I think there's a song by Swami John Reese called Harbor Freight and Harbor Freight is essentially the B&Q in America but it's all

tools are cheap and you buy it and the chorus goes that shit's going to break on you that shit's going to break on you when you need it the most that shit's going to break on you and that is basically Celtic or Harbor Freight you know like we're we're shopping in the in the bargain bin uh thinking that drill bit is going to survive that one job and it's not it's not doing the job a damn it looks crappy I don't I don't understand why I think Shivan Shara has shown way more why did they all come on I find that quite I think that odd mmm I don't know what's what's going on that he's not getting a look in because I mean I mean it's it's slim pickings but I just think he looks better than a dummy I think he's just he's just got more uh tools in the belt and um maybe not all of them are from Harbor Freight it turns out Harbor Freight you heard it here first um we'll talk about the uh by the way the referee of course was fucking abysmal John Beaton uh let it go stopping that's a free kick not giving a free kick let it go like you know we Celtic

Celtic should have had at least five or six free kicks in the first half that were blatant so you're talking about potential bookings for that person then it nothing comes from that um Callum McGregor gets a booking for his first foul um I mean okay they're maybe trying to break in it as it as a foul but he gets an instant yellow card and then Rangers players are doing fouls like that and worse in more dangerous areas and not getting yellow cards and it doesn't they got a yellow card until John Sutter when it was an absolute stone wall you know like you see John Sutter's one as well um there was so much spate like so people say well he wasn't in the last man because there was people covering but there was so much space for Tuneck to run into like that to me is as much as uh when trusty got sent off when that ball was coming and uh going basically to the corner flag they're like that's that that was a lower percentage chance than what Tuneck yeah and that's why that's why you're here yeah to call out the corruption corruption

we need to uh downtown uh pressure badge and you're good um in terms of uh the goals we can see there let's just quietly run through them just to get well we did start well did we Rangers came out the blocks we like aggressively absolutely rubbing head like stuff um I think the first Noah taking his 30 seconds as a cross fuel bowl and the Rangers player is literally on the right hand side and acres and acres and acres of space um nothing comes from it but that was an early and scary start but we can see the first goal in the seventh seventh and a half minute um so make so the balls that are right at back position calmy gager drops back to win the ball back but we're kind of pressed quite high and Rangers win the ball back up they work it out to our left back position uh so they play it right across the front it's dropped and then uh there's a ball can and a pretty nice ball put in and it's an overhead kick um a rojo probably should be

have more pressure on the striker I found a rojo was all at sea at times today um you should have turned me under more pressure but you know we're just not particularly well set up in the box there's nothing the goalkeeper can do about it we either need to be we know that we either need to stop the cross before it gets in at source yeah at source but if you're not going to do that you need to be set up in a way that means you can defend it and we did neither go yeah and it's again it's it's just making average players look good and giving them the time to do that sort of thing and um yeah but we we just that first ten minutes especially we just looked so frantic so unorganized um and i i think that the the the sort of not only do we give the ball away a lot we also can't we can't win second balls and we can't tackle yeah so um i feel like there's

just so many examples of just basic stuff that we could just like try and do a wee bit better on and as you say just like don't let the crosses come in because when it gets into that area uh you're you're you're basically just kind of hitting the kind of the random january or is it going to like take a deflection is it going to get hit blah blah blah is it was a very very good finish but again it has to it was a shame because you're a salesman i thought it was the worst overhead kick that was a good day and yeah but the thing is like it's but it's like and it's almost like so frustrating as well that they get that sort of like considering nine times at 10 that's going to go anywhere but the goal and it goes in and they get this class goal and then they get some loads of confidence i remember i had to post the call go the same one time um we let the like there were some that he was talking this is was it before he was at selfie career when he was at selfie essentially he was okay with letting ball he would would almost let balls into the box as long as you're set up right so the whole idea is okay we'll let balls into the box because if we

win back position we can break quicker so it needs to be one of the other it needs to be that sounds like a strategy i'm not saying it that sounds dangerous like a strategy get back goalkeeping coach we used to have john kennedy back um bad fun steve clerk but yeah so like when that book is it because when the book comes in chermetti's there and it's an oh ho and you know he shouldn't be one and one with him it should be scales and money that should be marking him and it felt like they never got the opportunity to press upon him and the book maybe they did during kind of different phases of play but defensively defensively we were all over the place for the first i mean there is something to be said about it's kind of almost lucky they wouldn't go in more than two and a half time because we gave them so many we didn't give them lots of opportunities but we gave them so much space in the box like as an example that make him more um he just kept finding space and people will look at that and they'll be like he's really good to find space we just allowed them to because we didn't

in the second half and that's a difference call and if you flip it on its head people will say us it rangers dropped off rangers didn't drop off Celtic were better and they didn't really know how to counter us and it also i think this is some some things when this happens i mean i know we've been critical of the management team but some if you're not problem solving and the field that's the players problem and um you know that sort of way where you know everybody knew that calmer gregar you just you know like let's nullify calmer gregar by marking him out of the game and it's like and then you have a a player that's basically bossing it and sort of turning your players inside out you you double up on him you close down that space you address the the very very clear issue and if you can't do that problem solving in the pitch and you have to wait till to have time in substitutions that's part of the problem as well yeah absolutely um the couple uh i just put i put in bold capitals within 10 minutes um say to get getting bullied all over the pitch

you also highlighted the fact that ple- so here's another clear example of the difference of the between the first half and the second half and the first half our playing out from the back was booting the ball so far the fuck it's unbelievable and we actually played out from the back in the second half like we actually played the ball out and i think that goes to show the difference in confidence between the two halves um um um twenty-third minute is the time when i think uh the ox showed how good they can be um sent a cello kind of rolls the ball out to him he beats as far as i could tell he beat three players drop of the shoulder but it's a really good ball out to Maida um and he keeps his run going which is great and Maida out puts a fucking awful ball into the middle to nobody it just squanders so you know and snuffs out our own attacks you know because it ends up having a minute and i don't think he i don't think he delivered a particularly good ball at any point i don't think he sometimes had a good first touch and then the second touch would ruin it um he did do some good defensive work at points uh but it's

it's more about how we're just breaking down when we get into the final third and a lot of it's to do with Maida because he is our quickest player and he's normally the person that's in space if there's any i mean he used to torment them and he doesn't really torment them anymore um and i'm not saying you have to be ninety nine percent for it like for every angels game you don't have to be the best player on the pitch dies Maida can still be effective without necessarily being what he once was but like that passage of play where Oxley Chamberlain drops shoulder beats one beats two puts the ball out keeps his run going i think Yang was out on the other side and all in Maida needs to do is either stop and wait for play catch up with him because he's not in a position or deliver a better ball but he just kind of somewhere in between it's quite lazy it's quite i'll just get a ball in maybe the manager and the manager team says just get balls into the box and he's taking it quite literally because it was a fucking honking ball and it's it's i think there was quite a bit of it it wasn't just dies and i think there was quite a lot of time when when when players received a ball

looked like they just didn't want the ball when they were just getting rid of it you know let's just get rid and it really but that particularly frustrated me because i think that's been annoying me about recent Celtic performances is that we don't play into space we're always just playing to feet or behind or whatever and we get caught in a fancole we get pressed and we lose the ball and you know like and that that that move uh the Rangers move in the first minute with they basically just like you know they just like we're all pressing on that end they switch it into into space boom off you go and that it just it looks so simple when they do it and it's just well you know like we need to play in space and but then when we do it we don't take capitalise on it so you're just like well you know what's up you know damned if you do don't doubt if you don't yeah absolutely um also chamber and just like to offer in terms of physical not physical as in he's not physical but he just doesn't look match fit either come three or four really nice pieces of play but ultimately he was bullied off the ball a couple of

times he lost the ball a couple of times this the intensity of that game i think is a level he's probably just not prepared for that's not to say he can't be but maybe lesson learned for next Sunday um but then again you could probably play him on Saturday on Wednesday against Aberdeen that's what a game i did i can i just want him to get game sharpness and i think that the wanting more time in the ball um because when you've got time in the ball um but you know i do think sometimes we especially in midfield we just want that extra second and if you don't get it then so people aren't scanning properly they aren't like calculating the risks properly um but i still i'm still kind of keeping the faith because i think he could be like a game changer i do too i do too i do too but yeah i do agree and maybe maybe it was better to you know but then again we bring on her tag as a sub and he makes a difference so maybe who knows maybe it's a master trope well that that's the thing like um if we if if i'll also chain balloons on the bench um we'd be kind of

furious at the start of the game because you want them to be in place so i understand my name was kind of caught caught between the rock and hard place without one where you want them to get more time but it just didn't quite work out for them today um but when you just go two and i'll up um yeah it's a ball in a ball in our left hand side it's a ball in as the ball comes to money we saw that he played where he didn't he only ducks out the way because he thinks that money's going to put his foot through it and just clear it but he has this huge swipe um and the ball he just misses it he kind of swipes for it and he can't miss it um or he hits it but it just it doesn't he doesn't clear it and it bounces um but trimmy day it's not like it's a tap in it's not like it the ball bounced him in the taps in i'd also still probably doesn't cover himself and glory either he kind of he goes to the ball trimmy he takes a touch and puts the ball over his head and then it's to finish i think he's more concerned with the player than the ball yeah that's a good point and maybe that's fine but trimmy he does take that touch with takes him away and it's a it's a clever finish but uh yeah i think he's just like he's two he's

he's not concentrating and where the ball actually is he's just concentrating the player you kind of have to do both yeah so two now up at that point i think that was the 25th minute at that point we all thought it's going to be a long day um i took a note in the 30th minute you described that as a net ball pass because and there's kind of some celty cup in that first half where um in an undermining way by the way yeah of course yeah um sinis alo gets the ball and he runs the edge of the area and there's like see a four celty player running forward but none of them are looking for the like none of them want the ball and he just kind of net ball throws the ball to one of the one of their feet and i was like look at that no one went to ball that's when you say that's like a net ball pass and it wasn't because the reason he did it was because no one was wanting it no one was available no one was but the three of them were there in space but it was just like no one really wanted it but he was like where you're going to fucking take it i'm going to have to be there's no plate for you so it's right there and you have to deal with it and i think it's a good path yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah should just highlight as well that um the the book in from a good

egg and it came from oxley chamberland just on the edge of the area the edge of ranger's area just taking too much time again just needs to be brought up to speed um half time yeah we were feeling pretty lazy yeah i don't think md was feeling good after that first half and i think you'd be have to be very very like rainbow positive to think that we could get something at this game and also you're wondering what because you know obviously in commentary terms are like what can martin and yield do to change and i was like what can he do you know i mean it's just um a couple of half time subs oh something sticks yeah i mean that's it some of my notes um were we're never in that first half billy doll over the park yeah uh they press weak rumble no coherence waffle i think one of the things as well was that uh then it kind of plays into what we're talking

about with the the netball pass was that nobody there wasn't there was few instances where celty players dropped them onto the ball now real hotati has come in for a lot of uh criticism and i'm a real hotati truther i'm sorry girl uh you know if you burn real hotati um he he doesn't melt at uh burning but i'm making the joke about another thing with the metal about yeah a rocket fuel rocket fuel the the the the mission point of steel yes rocket fuel fuel malt liquor dam which is a news radio joke that no one will get um listen it's good to try out different thing but no no real hotati came on and he looked for the ball he dropped into areas specific areas where he picked up space really well i would argue he picked up space in the in that second half the way that uh make him more was in the first half but he was more effective on the ball and he tried

to make things happen now again real hotati doesn't whenever he tries to make things happen it doesn't mean he's always gonna happen but he was making something happened yes i agree but i tell you the thing that concerns me it's not about hotati specifically what concerns me and i think that you know what eddie Eddie Walsh um her good friend Eddie Walsh always sort of said about a Kalemagegger that he was like a direct in traffic, you know. And the thing is, he still does that, but real attack he does it as well. And it's like the fact that our players need so much direction from the midfield to know what to do. It just shows you that there's like, how long have these players been playing together for the most part? Um, you know, and you could say, okay, well, Dan Murray's been dropped in it. But for the most part, these players should really, you know, like you shouldn't be showing these skills. That's a mind that Yang, all these guys have been around for years. Ah, you shouldn't be showing them where I put the ball. And, um, and also the thing is just about finding space. I would say that I did do that better than most, but like also we just continue,

continue to not utilize set pieces. And I mean, every set, kind of set piece. And our shies today, I thought we're especially poor. We were really just like given the ball away. And also the people weren't hustling. People weren't looking for the past. We weren't, you know, trying to drag a defender or whatever out of position. So the throwing could go somewhere else. And that stuff annoys me. I mean, it annoys me because it's, we need to be better than that. We need to be better than that. I mean, we need to use our margins. And if you remember, when we were talking about, um, last minute winners and, you know, I think one of our last minute winners came from a throw in, you know, we actually had a long throw in at the box. And we, we got some results out of that, which we wouldn't try before because we were, we were too good for that and we'll just play it. And we'll get free kick in a really good spot. But I'll just do a short pass and we'll start again because we're so good at playing the ball. We're not that good anymore. We need to get better at these things. So we hold possession and we need to use every single possible advantage. And the fact that we don't do it does my head. Um, yeah, I couldn't

agree more to find margins. Um, you know, set people have like made comments about like set piece coach. I can imagine the board would roll their eyes and go, I very good. They want to be like the Premier League in England, but they don't want to do anything that gets them to the level where marginal gains and zero percent and all that stuff. It's just we buy into that kind of Scottish narrative of like, what's your bottom extra? Ah, and it's like XC's bullshit. Um, and it's just like, okay, you can think that, but like, you're deliberately misapprehending what, like, you know, what XC is designed for, you know, it's like, I had XC, but it's all lost. And it's like, yeah, yeah, yeah, but, you know, that's, it's a clean chance is to score. And it's just like, you do understand why we have this metric, right? Yeah. And we'll go into more detail with our good friend. Well, on Tuesday, when we do the debrief. I'm trailing that. I'm trailing that by talking about XG. It stands for expected goals listeners. Um, it's a new thing. It might not catch on. And the first half, 30 CAD one shot. One shot. I don't even remember that shot. Who hit that shot?

I don't know. Let's come into here. I don't know. We get with one shot. It wasn't on target. It was Dyson Maida. And it was a header from a set piece. Right. And it was 0.03 XG was the header. But let me just compare it to the so one shot and the first half in the second half. We had 16 shots. Yeah. We had 16 shots in the second half. And seven of them were on target. And we created six big chances. That's probably more shots than we've had in entire games recently. What happened to that half time? Genuinely, I'm not like, what happened to that thing? Because... I'll rock up the ass. I'll rock up the ass. It's called the hairdryer treatment. See these fucking players? No, they're two. Look. They need a fucking... I mean, whatever that was. They need a fucking hammer. They're fucking joys with they need... Part of me is not actually joking. Yeah. Um, you heard her first hammer at the jaw.

How about to the jaw get this bow to that fucking gingerroom after I mean, maybe he was. He wasn't here today. Usually he's always here. Where was the Danny DC crossbow that I have time? It wasn't the Celtic dressing room. That's... Could somebody call in and let us know? Yeah. So I don't know if it's... I don't think it's just entirely but the subs. I think there was... I think... I mean, it's... But it's also a fairly easy halftime talking. It's just like, lads. You know, what do you think you're doing? You know, this is embarrassing. Your own fans are out there like play for them. Exactly. You know, because I felt sorry as shit for those people who've probably been there since like half nine this morning. I, you know, been kettled probably and they have to watch that pitch. So yeah, you use that. You use all the old tricks of the book and you hook a couple of ineffective players and... And the jaw and the jaw and the jaw.

And you hook them in the jaw. Yes. Good. See? I can see you're uncomfortable with it. Yeah. But it's good. I'll tell you who I can find. I see it against the damu. I do. No, I don't have... That's a bad fun. Hey, come on. What are we doing here? Come on. Bad fun. All right. Stick to the junior senior jokes. Everyone dead. Everyone dead. Maybe senior Adam. Hi, everyone dead. In every single, see every person in the pub or in their house or even in the stadium and around the world at some points I went, someone went to them. Maybe senior Adam would be there. Do you know what? Still a good joke. It's still a good joke. Just because everyone says it doesn't mean it's not a bad joke. Exactly. On the cynic we endorse low-hanging friend. That's it. But Adam and also Chamberlain came off for Hattati and Tunecki. Tunecki, I thought you were quite a few serving as praise from... I was sticking up from. I thought he did better on the Stuttgart game than other people were

saying. I just thought that he was getting about the hard time and I thought he did some useful work. Not all of it great, but if our wingers were 100% consistent, we would be a different vocal. They've been comal. I call it injustice wherever I see it because of her. I was just sticking up from her. I thought Hattati and Tunecki, I don't want to say they changed the game, but they were very much involved in how the game played out in the second half. Big props to both of them. To play as I've been very critical of, but again, I think we've all been connected with everybody. Exactly. You've got to give out the sort of blurrits when they're required and when they're when they're earned. I just wish Tunecki would learn a bit because I think Yang has learned to defend better. Yeah, that's true.

I think Tunecki is still honking in defence. It took Yang. It took him a while. So what that meant was Hattati replaced Oxley Chamberlain. Adamu came off, which meant Maida went through the middle and Tunecki went wide. Let me just ask you this. I don't think Daida Maida is as effective through the middle as he was as he has been even specifically last season. You're calling my husband? He was. I'd know where to go there. I thought that's funny. Leave it gap. I don't know if I don't know where to go. I don't think he's been as effective as he has been. But did you just call me a liar? No. That's worse. But not a bit like he was still more effective than Adamu through the middle to date. Now, people will talk about game state and they'll talk about how, you know, if Adamu had been

played, it had been as part of the second half, maybe he would have, and all that stuff. But you can only, you can only play, work with him, play with what you've got. Adamu, kind of, I think, was not working hard enough or not, not even hard enough, right? Clever enough. He wasn't working harder. Smart. He wasn't working smarter or clever enough off the ball, the way that probably Maida did in the second half. Maida just was more effective. I don't think he was as effective as a Celtic striker should be, but he was more effective calling. I think so, and I think that, but it's also you've got to, I think you should talk about game state because the thing is, we were absolutely all over the place in the first half and it's not Adamu's fault. Second half, we got it together a bit, Maida looked a bit better in the centre role, so I think anybody would have. My thing is, it's also Maida through the middle, which is, you know, Maida's in the middle, through the middle, which just goes through my head

all the time whenever you see that, and it's quite distracting. Maida through the middle. Somebody should crack that up. Maybe that's what Martin and Neil did do in the second half thing. So, but I just think that maybe if Tvanshara had that second half, we'd be saying the same thing about him. Absolutely. Again, you know, obviously we're recording straight after the game, but the further we're getting away from it, the more I'm thinking, why didn't he play Tvanshara? Like he would have been almost being perfect anyway. Rangers start the first half, the second half. I'm talking about the first two, three minutes, very aggressively, very attacking. Person is really high. Doing exactly the same thing we did at the time. First half. And I think at that point, I think we all thought off, I think we're going again, we're going to lose two or three more. But once Celtic kind of got a hold of the ball, and you could argue that Rio Hattati, Cal and McGregor and Tineke made that happen,

we started to take over and we started to actually play some football. Yeah, it was surprising to me as it was to you. Yeah, a game of football broke out. And yeah, we dominated the second half, largely. And the funny thing about that is because we know, you know, this thing's like, we know Bershite. We know we know where deficiencies. But you saw that and you're like, oh my, this Rangers team is fucking doth garbage. And we made them look like, as you say, said earlier, like the Globetrowers. And it's just, I was obviously delighted. But it just felt like we needed extreme adversity, almost like the kind of, the risk has gone down because you're already trailing, shackles are off, you get to play a bit of football, you get a bit of control. And nobody comes out of this game well.

But you know, it's funny because like, this is how kind of coming in a half time, this is, I wasn't even thinking, I'm always one of those guys who's like, I don't know what to do, no, don't have time. But yeah, I don't know why I'm from a redesign pit or a minder. I was thinking actually more minder. You get a go. Chris, I don't know, I've talked to myself now. I'll cut this bit awful, right? But what I was thinking, usually I'm the type of person who manages the, okay, if we get a goal at this point, we've got to this point to get a goal. It was a very, very dangerous score line. Exactly. Whoever scores the next goal and all that stuff. But I wasn't half time, I was just kind of watching the game wash over me as opposed to being like, if we get a goal the first 10 minutes, then you know, then we've get we're back into it and then the full of the game could change and then hopefully I was just like, whatever happens, happens. But we do get a goal within 10 minutes of the restart. Um, 55th minute, care and tyranny, back post header, fucking brilliant,

Hattati, excellent on the edge of the box. There's some good play by Tonecki. But the ball comes to Hattati on the edge of the box. He waits, and he waits, and he waits, and it might have only been two or three seconds, but because it's on the edge of the box and because they're pressing out, it feels like a lifetime. He puts the ball over to Negrin, and Negrin delivers a beautiful ball to the back post, care and tyranny header. He runs up to the support, grabs his fucking shot, something calling, something to kick his back into feeling like we're fucking deserve to be here. Uh-huh, and I didn't say this at the time, but across my mind, there was a corner we had before, um, because we were building up a pressure, and we were winning some corners, and, uh, and care and tyranny delivered a really decent corner, and I think we'd seen a bunch from the other side where, uh, the ox was like sort of going for the near post thing and home for the best. The tyranny delivers a really wicked ball into that, and I was just like, I think care and tyranny is going to, you know, he, you know, he's taking it like the Darby is,

I'm going to do something about this. And as you say, Hattati, this is the thing, but quality players and something about how we want time on the ball, but good players create the time in the space. Yeah, there we go. And this, and the header is just, it's, you know, exactly what he's doing, he's directing it, it's, um, it's a strong header, and you'll have to see it, you'll have to see the fans in there fucking having something to celebrate, um, and you're really thinking, okay, we're back, we're, we're legitimately back in this, this doesn't feel like, um, it feels like this is our game to win, and if not draw, but it didn't feel like we were just going to go in sort of, we couldn't lose this game. Yeah, I feel like, and, and I think, the thing, the real moment of balance is like after kickoff is like, if you make it, if you just go to sleep and you let them score a third, then it's all fucked by. I didn't think that was going to happen. Uh, you always have that worry, but I was like, yeah, this is, yeah, this half is ever. I'm going to give some big, big props to Ben J. Negrin. I thought he was really, really

good in the second half in terms of, uh, finding space. Now, I think the issue with, wait, when Negrin is, he kept finding himself in space and the past that he would make would be to play or that you'd want him to be in almost. So it would be like, he would, he would find space because no one else is finding that space. And then he would pass the ball and you're like, ah, I want you to be there. I want you to swap. But I thought he was really good. I thought he was really effective. He's a real, I've realized he's a real transition player. He's a type of player that you win the ball back when you are, when you're getting attacked deep and you break quickly, one, two, three. And, you know, you put it over and there's a lot, there was a lot, we would transition really well. Um, a lot of breaks gone and a lot of kind of good use of the ball without necessarily that clinical finish. I think he showed he's got more of a more game than just scoring goals. Um, I, I do think he's been wildly erratic. Um, but, um, but I think maybe

he's finding these feet. And we, we just needed some kind of quality. And as you say, that kind of that sort of pass, it gets us out of pressure and actually gets us up the pitch. Um, and what you're saying about, I think I said the other day, um, at the Stuttgart game was like, can't Kaleci pass it to Kaleci because he does this really nice thing and he passed it and it's my done, my disc wonders it. And there are times where you're just like, oh man, you know, just, just pass to yourself mate. And then we just just just do a great individual team and individual goal. And then when the game for us, it felt like the second half, we just kind of took to, when, when we go control, we just started to really create opportunities. Um, the 67, 60 second minute, that Maida part, great ball and by Toneck, Toneck, he's on the right hand side and he delivers a ball to Maida. And if Maida does anything other, it's, it's the classically shade of if he heads it either side of the goalkeeper, it's a goal. But it was a big chance. And if you score

that column, it's, the game is on its head. Yeah. And I mean, I, I don't think you can ever really dig somebody out. I think I'm not totally digging. No, no, I know you're not, I know you're not. But like, I feel like quite often those chances are it's easy for a commentator to be like, always should be scoring that as such, etc. It's like you need to get your head on it and you need to direct it. And there's a lot of things you have to do. There's a lot of factors going in there. Um, I, you know, I've seen plenty of those balls where, you know, they don't win the header. So he won the header, gets on target. But yes, it's, it's, it's a, it's a moment when we, when, I think if that goes in the games on its head, exactly. This is the things like, you know, we were kind of on course for, I think we're on course, we're drawn to one. If we score that goal, that equalizer, only then we're on for a win. But we have to impuff a bit. And that's why we got draw. Yeah, absolutely. The reason we have to puffed, do you think it's because, and I guess

we'll never really know until, you know, we look back on this season, which the season reviews are going to be fucking mental by the way. It's going to be a lot of people on holiday. Yeah. Um, unless we were like, um, but we did huff and puff, but that was the, for me, again, I'm not, I don't know what it was in your mouth, but this is my take on it. We have to puff because, because of the execution of the final point, whether it'd be the final pass or whether it'd be the thing, because I've got a note here, um, 69th minute, ball over the top, deep into the dangerous box. And Niggadon's got the ball. And he holds the ball off really well. And he lays that ball to the Yohatati. And you're looking at Yohatati running onto it. And you're like, I think even that, uh, it's come back our field said, if he just opens his foot and he passes in, he's going to get it on target, at least, but he hits with the top of his foot and he just blasts over. And it's like real Hati's a technically very proficient player. But it was just that,

that pressure of the ball rolling to him. I think if he's on form, I think, I think he was really good today. I'll give him his props. Um, he's been up and down. But if, if he was pouring, real Hati's putting that in the top corner, if they'll take one pouring, that's an, that's an, not an easy finish, but it's a better finish. But because it's a good chance. It's a good chance. Yeah. And, and I think that we had a lot of those today, where actually I think we should have won the thing. And now I'm, I'm a can deeper than I was 20 minutes ago when I asked myself, like, was it? By the end of this podcast, we should have one fucking fault in our, but if I didn't have this podcast, we will have, we will have magic that into existence. Uh-huh. And I think, I think the thing is, uh, was real is that, you know, that kind of inconsistency is why, because if you look at Matt, really, uh, going to Brighton and then he's not fanseed, he's like, in and out of the team, he's put it in loan, et cetera, et cetera. I certainly, that's insane. And I think why Brighton have fallen off a cliff. Why is that?

Because I'm out of it. Just just think about that. A big fan's, uh, Mason Greenwood as well, isn't he? Not really. Let's move on. It's a light, um, the, anyway, but like, the sort of thing is, Matt really was such a class player. A tie, maybe what, I felt we all insulated that a tie, what would that move to the Premier League? I don't think it was a secret, you know, um, but that inconsistency and that just, you know, you've got the quality, but you can't have it on tap. And you see it, even in some of the, the lesser teams in the English Premier League, yeah, where a Burnley or a Wolves will get this chance and you'll have somebody coming onto this, this, this ball on its light, the one chance they have and they put it away beautifully. And I feel like we don't, that's, that's that just like little bit of quality that's just the kind of the next step that, uh, if you're to succeed, um, and I'm straight because I wanted him

to be the next 25 million player that we, we say all and he goes and, um, wraps up somewhere, wraps up somewhere, exactly. So, um, yeah, yeah, be pissed over the bar and I'm, when, when, when Hattie now scores, I was remembered that goalie scored against Rangers and was, was it his debut? I was, yeah, because he's second game or something. And he just, beautiful technique and it's like, he's not thinking about it. It's just natural. It's a Nate. And he just stands there and just like, look at that. And I feel like I think this, you know, you could write books and books on the psychology of this team and the squad, what it's gone through and, uh, partly because of the kind of the general mismanagement of it and players being stuck longer than they wanted. Like the man management of the manager is one of our current manager. It was one of the best things about him. But the man management from a club level with our players has put us into this situation. Dan Murray is the perfect example of someone, a young guy who might not be good enough for

Celtic, might be good enough for set. We never know. And we're not going to know whether it be, you know, I, I'm sorry, that, I mean, that was getting too deep. No, no, no, that was good. It was good. Um, yeah, so we've got Sir Hattie and Macauin come on for Katie and Yang. I would a kept Katie on. Yeah, I thought that was a little bit odd, um, unless you're just managing these minutes, but he plays now. He's saving them from the next Rangers game. Well, maybe, I mean, but what I don't get is like, oh, you know, you have to take him off and you have to manage his minutes. But then he'll play 90 minutes, like 390 minutes in a row. And then whenever they take him off, the fourth game is like, they take him off this other manager as minutes. And also, like, quite often he does his best work in the latter half of the game. 100% absolutely well done. I call him. That's a good point. And that's, um, I thought Sir Hattie was, Sir Hattie's really good. Sir Hattie's another player who holds off on making the pass too quickly. So the pass he makes to Real Hattie, one Real Hattie fucks up. He makes a pass into space where

everyone thinks he's going to make it out wide. And he puts this ball through the middle. It's a really clever pass. Yeah, I'd like Sir Hattie to be in the team at the same thing. Ah, I know. Could we not just like, can we not just put Katie as a centre back? You know, I mean, do some, do some. Do you play your best players? Ah, fuck all the, get all the team positions on the pitch. Ah, come on. Is there anything is like, but for Sir Hattie, I think he was quite, he had quite a deaf touch today. Um, he did, he kind of screwed up one pass. And I feel like that's what people focus on. But I think we should really remind people that he did a lot of good work in that. Absolutely. Absolutely. Yeah, absolutely because that pass they made when he just puts into the middle. It had been that pass had been made 10 times, 20 times in the first half. But because it was in the second half, when we were going on top, people make focus on that. But I thought Sir Hattie again, a handsome boy. Um, 77th minute, I've just put in Capital's brilliant move. Sir Hattie to connect gate to McCown. It's the one where the ball works across. And McCown

always has to work on his other foot. So he was, he's on the right hand side and he always has to work on his left foot and it ends up being quite a weak shot. But the build up play was excellent. McCown did really well to get into that position as well. Um, I also think that he could, um, he could still score that chance or increase the chance to the chance if he gets a bit of lift on the ball. Yeah, off these left foot, but he keeps it low on the floor and it's to the near post where the keepers are always going to have it covered. So I was quite disappointed about that. Um, because I still think it was quite a good chance. Um, yeah, yeah, yeah. So, um, yeah, I just took our gets picked in the 79th minute. So I'll take our just on top. Um, this, uh, 81st minute ball. So 81st minute, uh, there was a break and Ninkering has the ball and there's a ball into him and Ninkering holds the ball up long enough really, really well on our right hand side. There's no one on on on their left hand side to net the runs in his space.

Ninkering plays the perfect pass and he's just eased off the ball and you erupted out of your seat. You went fucking bitch cakes. Um, and, uh, I thought to net that a lot of good work when he came on, but there is parts of his game where it's just like, you need to just, it was so eased like, it was a really good pass from from Ninkering. And the run was perfect from Terekki, but he was just so easily kind of eased out that it went out for a, a bike kick. Uh, you exploded and I just took a note and I was just like, I like just, he's got lots to work on the young man. Yeah, yeah. And the thing is I've said from the beginning, it was just like, I hope we don't put too much pressure on it, but we've been putting an ordinate pressure on a lot of young players who have had limited exposure to, um, to like professional football. Yeah, yeah, you know, sure. Uh, and, um, we're, you know, obviously, but the thing is like, it's kind of that sort of if you play for Celtic, we have standards. So this, and I think we've talked about this

before and other pods, but like, there's standards that maybe the board don't share, but we share as the fans who have been here forever now as well be, um, after this board or dust, um, figuratively or metaphorically or whatever you want to say, it's like, uh, it's basically, we have standards. You've been signed, you've been chosen, you've been picked to play this thing, we expect a lot of you, but I feel for these young men who are thrown into these situations with solo cover, absolute chaos, um, you know, we've had, you know, like, you know, people make fun of, uh, not in forest because of like, I had four managers a season and all the rest of it. So have we moved? If you count Sean Maloney, we, we, we have, and, but like, you know, so we've had, this has been an absolute catastrophe of a season from an organizational point of view, like, from a professional football club. And to Nectay, who I think would be an

excellent off the sub, you know, like, let's, you know, talking earlier, but Dave Murray, you can iron these things out, he's gay, he's gay, he's gay, but like, you know, because of the way his cadet has been managed and he's had some injuries, obviously, but like, yeah, this is, this is a chaotic place to try and sort of like, you know, just put the sort of finishing touches on your game, uh, and they have just got to go out there and get these results. By the way, can I just, you make a good point? It's a chaotic place to do that at the best of times. So it's a chaotic place to do it when we are efficiently working to the best of, of what we currently can work at, right? Yeah. But in this season, this is what I'm talking about, like, we were talking about how, like, how, you know, before the game kicked off, we were sitting, chatting, talking about how it's quite difficult to judge players sometimes on games and performances in halves. And halves of halves, because everything is so, everything, everything tips you over to it. And let me just make this point, the fucking board and how they have mismanaged this football club. You are giving,

this Celtic board, we're giving a fucking slate, a blank slate, where rangers went out of business and you can build what you want to build and what they decided to build was something very, very just about where it needs to be. And all of this, everything that's happening, everything we're touching, touching on these players, the players that are good enough, the players that aren't good enough, the manager, the, the fourth manager we've had, all of that is because of the Celtic board. No one should forget that. Dan Murray making a mistake is something that he can learn to fix. Dan Murray isn't a bad player. Dan Murray might be a good player, we don't know. But the fact is, we have had a situation where the manager is given. The manager should be told we need to do this to promote the, what are the KPI? You know, like, exactly. And it's like, what are our ambitions? And when we're also chatting at the beginning of the game, there was a T4. And I said to you, just wait to see the T4 next

10 year Celtic part. Oh, wait a minute. There's not going to be one because for other flaws that they have at least acknowledged, like, they're just, it's almost like they look at Celtic. Like, let's just, you know, when George Costanza and Seinfeld does the opposite of what he feels he should do, and he starts becoming like success. Yeah, yeah. It's kind of like, let's do the opposite of what Celtic we're doing. Let's not antagonize our fans. Let's encourage them. Let's support the fucking, the ultra's lights give them fucking, yeah. And it's, and it's, that's already. And also when your, your rivals fans are singing, keep the board. By the way, that's no longer, I don't know if it ever was funny. It wasn't funny. It's definitely not funny. It was topical, like, sort of, have I get news for you? I'm a wanker, so away. Yeah. But the fact is, it's just like, and I think it's also kind of self-defeating because if you're, they're acknowledging our point, it's the board's fault. Yeah. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Yes. Because they are like saying, we would like you to keep the board because everything's shocking at your club, and it's a

complete mess. So thank you. You fucking mutants. I'm going to say thank you. I mean, it's fuck you. What's the, what's the Fienin equivalent of staunch? Right. And it's on the post. That was the Fienin equivalent. Yeah. So we, you know, 84th minute, the last 10 minutes, when the last 10 minutes came up, I thought to myself, we cannot not get something from this game. If we get something, if we don't, and this is the thing, obviously, myself and Colin are reacting to it. And I'm looking at this in the, I was like, the last 10 minutes, if we don't get something from this game, this reaction, how are we going to react? Like it's because, you know, your mood, the reaction is said by the over by now. I, well, definitely, I'm having a lovely time. Colin, I'll be honest with you. 84th minute, Jim Bag comes on, and we had been making, and listen, we all love James Forest, but I am probably more critical. So Colin has lovely partners, Tara, obviously, Claire,

are all big James Forest guys. And I love Jim Bag, right? But I think his time has passed, but we made a joke about, yeah, I said to Colin, I said, I can't wait till James Forest comes on, it's a day. It kind of did. It came on. He took that experience. He, I'm glad to be, I'm honestly as well. See, whenever I criticize Salty, can anyway, and the players make me look like a prick, terrific, but delighted. It's, but also the point remains. Yeah, the point remains. The point remains. And yeah, you love James, and I really do as well, by the way, I know I have fun, but, you know, yeah, but the thing is like, should we really be relying on this? You know, it's kind of, see, well, let me, let me see James Forest, right? See, giving James Forest another year's contract in the summer, right? People will be furious with that, right? And people will go nuts and think

that's, I don't think that would be a bad thing to do in the right circumstances. See, the right circumstances, when you say, look, Jim Bag, you're going to play 15 games, but we want you on the training pitch with Tineke. We want you on the training pitch with, well, Balak, we should, or whatever, like we want you on the training pitch with these guys, fix them. So what we're going to do is we're going to transition you into being the guy who works with player manager, player coach. So like people say, oh, you shouldn't get a new contract. I get what you're saying, and I agree, and it shouldn't be a thing. But I've said it, we're running well. You could give him a one-year contract where you say, you are going to be a backup, backup to the backup, but we want you on that training pitch every single fucking day, showing Balakwisha and showing Tineke and showing how to stretch, how to stretch, how to, because the ball that he puts in, the, the, the, the Denk, how, how he,

how he lifts that. I'll just read out my, my description of it. Jim Bag drops a great ball into the box. And that's what he did. He drops it. It's a ball that is so, the goalkeeper does cultured cultured love it. Co-keeper can't come from it. Come, come for it. The goal, the defender has to clear it, but an attacker goes to animate. So in my note, my initial note, I was like, should my the score. And I was like, I fucking need to score all of that. And we were having that thing. You see the save. Then you see it from the angle of, oh, my does just has scored except the Rangers goalkeeper and Rangers defenders arms came out and he's blocked it off. What did you make in that situation? I kind of, you know what? I'd almost forgotten about it. Because I was just trying to remember, oh, man. Yeah. Well, obviously, if you're traumatized, as most of us are, by Celtic over the years, you think you're never going to get that break. You're just like, oh, this will be turned over. And then, and the first angle, I'm just like, nah, come on. And then you see

it from the angle. And essentially, the ball is going towards the goal. The arm is out. It deflects it towards the keeper. So still more penalty. John Beaton goes to the VR screen, takes an age, because he's like, can I not give it? Is there any way I can not give this penalty? Give me an out. Give me a finger. Finger over his ear. Give me an out. Yeah. So an absolute disgrace. And, but yeah, we get towards the penalty rightly. And a row is holding the ball. We're like, because we were talking about who's going to take this penalty, because I was like, I first went off with something, and I was like, Neekron is not the guy who takes our penalty. Was it his angles? Remember him? Yeah. And I was like, who takes the pen? You said, real, real tight. I was like, oh boy, because I think Aroko was standing over the penalty sport to protect it. Yes. But also, I was just like, I was like, on yourself, this is fireball energy. Jesus Christ. The whole stadium was unexploded. But yeah. So, but Hattati steps up.

See all that stuff, right? I'm a sucker for like, like, I'm a sucker for teams that are like, I'm a sucker for teamwork, and I'm a sucker for everyone working for it. So see, like, Aroko is there, and I've got a comment of what he did after the match, by the way. Oh, good. I look forward to that. But like, I'm protecting the circle and the penalty spot and all that, and people getting on other people's faces. Got raskin booked. Got raskin booked. And I fucking, I exploded when I saw raskin's hand go near. I thought it was a tonight's fate. I've just like, that was a rule. Yeah. So like, I love all that. The penalty itself is fucking, or real Hattati deserves massive props for today. I thought it was great. The penalty, and then the rebound, Christ, the penalty saved, the rebound saved, third time lucky. But they all count. Go on, they all point again. They all point again. Three bites of the cherry. And also, it's great. I thought it was really funny, but it was like, Dyson was hitting him. It's like,

you do not deserve this goal. Fuck it. And I need a goal. No, I think we were all of a mind. And the thing is, everybody will obviously, well, when you get a penalty, you always think you're going to miss it. I don't agree. I think you sometimes have a very good feeling. Sometimes you're like, you could go 50, 50, and sometimes you're like, this is never going in. And I was like, this is never going in. And the save, I was just like, fuck, say, but hats off, didn't, didn't switch off. Nobody switches off the, you know, you have the second goal. And the thing is like, okay. Butland is good at saving penalties. Yeah. So that's also another thing to contend with. And the fact is, don't give up. And if it takes the chances, they all count, as you say. And you're just like, if this had just happened a little bit earlier, it's quite late in the day. I think this says, yeah, a lot about both teams. I think that Celtic are, I think Celtic

are better than Rangers. I think Rangers are terrible. Now, people around say, well, they've won a lot, that 10 games at home in blah, blah, blah. I just think they are flatter to deceive merchants. Right. And I think we're better than them. That doesn't necessarily mean that we are the problem is that hearts keep winning. So we are currently third with 55 points. Rangers are second with 57 points and hearts are top with 63 points. We have a game in hand. So if we win that game in hand, we are 58 points. We're a point ahead of Rangers and we're five points behind hearts. I said, a couple, I said before Christmas, if Celtic are five, but you can go back and listen to this. I've found the quote. I said, if Celtic are five points behind of behind hearts in the first week of March, I'll still be confident we'll win the league. Obviously, there's factors within that.

And you said today would be a draw, Dave Murray would make a mistake. And there would be a penalty. Mystic Meg is. I mean, not an usher, not a mystic Meg. But yeah, this keeps the dream alive. 100 percent. You know, you can extrapolate from that draw. What you like, but I think I just think it gives us a bit of an edge psychologically. I think we're better than them. Yeah. And you can, you know, because also we've had a horrible run against them. And I think that's probably feeding into how we started. Yes, I think so. And you know, there is something, you know, like anybody's line of work, you know, you might, you know, everybody's a job will throw up a point where you're like, oh, I can't do this. I'm stuck in this thing. You work at it. You get through it. And then you're just like, and the next day, you're like, what was it? What was I so worried about? And I

think this is probably one of those learning moments for this team. They're just like, no, like, they're not, it's, they're not the, the, the sort of winning machine that we sort of maybe think they are. And we just went to their hovel, which was like, we're, they were, you know, it was a hostile atmosphere. And, and you know, that's, we, we've got to remember that a lot of these players are, you know, not used to that kind of level intensity as well. So it must be a bit of like, an eye opener. And they go to an L down, they get to two back, the outplay Rangers in the second half. And I think in the first half, Rangers performance was all due to our timidity and our fear. And I think if we can sponge that from our performance next week, we should win that cup title. Come on. You fucking yes. And then go all the way out. You're fucking yes. Fucking right. Yes, Colin. Yes. You're so classic and calm. You're like a Shakespeare play. But fucking, you say hangs that made me go, I come on to fuck.

Wow. No, no, you, you, you've laid out very well. We, we need, I think, if nothing else, what the thing we can take from today, and we'll, we've got some subscriber comments that we'll do through. But the thing that we can take from today, if nothing else is just confidence, we have five points is fucking nothing. Right. And I know hearts might continue this draw. It just means we can, we just need to beat them. So, you know, and they'll have another Edinburgh Darby. They'll have to play Rangers. They'll have to play Motherwell. And I, I, I really struggle with this, this team because I love them one half and I fucking hate them the next or I hate them one half. And I love them the next. It just so happens that we were two nailed down, we're two each. And I love them just now. Let me read out some comments from some scrimbers. Oh, this is from our good friend. Let me, he's saying in a voicemail, this should pick up. Let me just play it. This is from our good friend David McClemment. There we go. Does this play? Okay.

Hi, Sonic. Um, questions for the reaction. Um, how have we went and managed that? Uh, it's a good question because we're fucking the best. He reminds me of, we're simply the best. Oh, shit. Uh, he reminds me of Graham McClemment. It's so much. It's on blue game. You and David are like, uh, pals. Uh, this is from, oh my god, a good friend Ken has seen a video of him with, he's got a kneecap, uh, boy, clavon. I'll play that again so we can hear Ken. Hi. Great stuff from the big man. He says, hey, he'll help you. Ken is the guy from kneecap. That's crazy. He's the, the guy, he'll help me the drink after I had given up a half time, we should have won it in the end. And let's be clear, V are, and on-site pitch inspections done their best, not to give that penalty, hoping it was,

his leg, not as armed, that's a good point, Ken. Um, this is from, oh, this is from Michael Michael who sent the half-time thing in. He just says forget that first message. Good example Ken, good example. Sorry, Michael, good example. Let's not forget, let's not forget the first half. It's, it's, it's, it's, it's a warning. It's a warning. We should, we should acknowledge it. This is from Ryan, Ryan Patterson. He says, wow, a game of two halves indeed. If we can win next, the next two league games, we are due three home games after the split. Hearts, Huns, and probably Falkirk at home. Mother one hybs away, maybe we can do this if we take it like that last 45 minutes and they're running. That's exactly it. That's exactly it. If we can do it and take it, we can make it work. This is from our good friend Paul McGinley and Edinburgh. Overall, the first half was shocking. We just got it gifted it to them, dragged all over the place for their
