Hello and welcome to the reaction to Aberdeen 1, Celtic 2 on the 4th of March 2026. I'm your host Graeme McKay and I'm joined by an illustrious panel on the left we have Mr Chris Amane. How are you Chris? Ethan Graham, I'm good because we won, but we just won, the performance wasn't the best, but why am I expecting anything else, but yeah I'm good, we won, that's me being positive. And I'm joined on the right by Amane who's just to shaky fond nature and therefore appreciates
shaky teams like Celtic, Colin Key, how are you Colin? This team needs a lot of dolls and a lot of glue, Graeme, I tell you, I'm okay, I'm like, I'd be one, yes I am, did I enjoy watching that? Not one bit. We won the game and that is all that matters, BBC's just put up a portion, how the tables looking, Celtic have moved into second place, Elite Frogging over Rangers with 29 games played and 58 points, 1 ahead of Rangers and 5 behind hearts with 9 games to go in the season. Amane this season has been going on I think for several years at this point, it's kind of, do we always think of it during this game, you know at the end of Cool Runnings and this is a spoiler for the John Candy film Cool Runnings, where they're going and I think they're going to win and then like the, to bogging the bobsleigh as well as starts to fall
apart, let's let bolts and shirts start to come with it, it feels like that, but for Celtic Rangers and and hearts all at the same time going towards the finish line, it's just whoever can hold on to the bolts. Yes, it is, it is a very second hand bobsleigh season isn't it and I think what it underlines is that neither Rangers nor hearts have moved to our level, we've regressed really far in terms of making this, you know some sort of contest, not going to go over the reasons why we know that as the case, but objectively I mean is it more exciting for the neutral well, you'll have to ask the neutral, but I imagine they would say it is, but there has been a drop in quality certainly from us and I don't see that slack being picked up by either of the two teams, but you know quite frankly if we win this league, it will be, you know that bobslabel will be glued back together and John Candy will push his over the line, well John Candy's no longer with us, but someone will push his over the
line, so. Colin, it's not really at this stage of the season we're not looking for dazzling performances, I think after the weekend, similar to what Kieran said in the agenda, I've probably overrated to Rangers a little bit and I think at one of the few Celtic fans it maybe felt better after the the game in Sunday felt as if actually we probably will win this league. First 10 minutes I was like okay we're kicking on here, this is thing like it, we've finally turned the corner, but again we just can't seem to, we'll get into the game in good detail, but we just can't seem to make cohesive, it's not even about cohesive 90 minutes, it's just like cohesive extended periods of time in the football match. Yeah we played in very short spells, you know it did seem to be, there were some nice patient build up play, there was some clever passing, but then there was all kinds of confusion about how to play the game overall, it seems like we have our press is, you
don't know when we're going to press when we're not going to press, we seem to be playing a much longer ball game and I mean I don't know if it's to do with Sinus Allor, if there's instructions he's getting, but he does seem to be playing the ball out long a lot and we're leaving a lot of things to chance. Yeah I was the same as you, the early on I'm not just talking about a rarely goal, but like I was pleasantly surprised and especially when that the nick of that pitch, but yeah it's, yeah we don't expect sparkling performances but you know like this is Aberdeen and I just felt that we gave them way too much of a sniff of getting a result of some description, so yeah I was a bit like you, I was slightly buoyed by the result on Sunday just because of the nature of the comeback, but yeah kind of come back to earth with a bump, but still we're in second place and the winds all
that matters and that's what I'm going to keep telling myself. I mean so man, yet in a normal season where things have been going well, when you look again, a midweek, Patordra sandwiched in between two trips to Ibrox, they've had biblical reigns since Christmas time, probably because Aberdeen and Heronntley has done something wrong that needs to be toned for, but I mean I've been crying for the loss of Broodog The last time I was in Aberdeen, the last time I was there I was, I bought a motor combat too for the PlayStation, I think it was, so it was the last time I was in Aberdeen, so it's interesting place, but I mean as I was talking about there, it's a kind of result in a normal season, you'd be like okay, that's just, you go and get that done, that's it. I think we are all trying to look for green shoots and that's what maybe
makes it a little bit disappointing the way that it's just still that kind of like, I don't know, just can I patch work football that we're playing basically? I think that's fair enough, I think the old cliche is that's the sign of champions, you know when you can grind out results like that, but when you look at our last games, they've all been very late goals in a series of performances in late goals, I'm talking about the commoner game, the Livingston game and then even in Sunday against Rangers, that's not a sign of champions, it's digging out results with a last kick in the ball which does show a little bit of character, but when you look at the games as a whole, maybe not Sunday, but certainly the second half was good, but the first half was terrible, but when you look at the games as a whole, there's real questions about our resilience and there's real questions in my mind about our game management, tonight was a really big example, a good example of that,
we got our noses in front and then we looked at bag of nerves towards the end of the game, we were wasteful and I'm sure we'll come to it, but someone who shall not be named could have gave away an absolutely needless penalty if the attacking player had been a wee bit more, what's the word, game savagery, shall we say, so you look at these things in the context in which they're played out and you could view it that way and in many ways you can because we just need to win, just now so I wouldn't have too much kind of problem with some people looking at it that way, but for me it's a continuation of the nervousness, the average play where we're eking over the line in some of these games, but you know mafielin on these things is is it more likely than not that that will come to a sugar and hope potentially, but you know I'm not the biggest optimist, but yeah this time of the season you would just normally chalk that up, but the context of what's going on before means that you don't do that.
Yeah, the penalty incident you were referring to, we will get to exactly the one thing I would say is it was Leo Cameron, we were speaking before we started, he's only been arranging us for a few months, so he probably hasn't got that cheating ingrained in him properly yet, Colin, like after a few months he would have gone down, probably. Well I think the Dark Arts pamphlet is over two pages long, so it might take a while to get through. Yeah, it was, yeah, let's not skip to the end right now, but yeah, sorry, I'm still kind of like blown. Yeah, that's just after watching that, I feel like I've played the game with them, but hey, you know what, we started well didn't we, like, let's, let's, I'm going to try and keep up positive thing. Let's, let's go to the start. We had unfortunate news in the warm up that the most cost footballer of all time, Den Murray, a, a thigh injury or a felt is thigh, basically, it's what the commentator said,
so he was removed from a starting lineup and Ben Arthur came in to a set alongside scales and then central defense and sell on goals, a Rockle and Katie at fullback, McGregor, Hattati and Macau in the middle of the park and with a front free of big time through the middle and connect to and Yang either side of them. So my name, not too many surprises in that lineup, I think when you beforehand that since I was going to keep going and then other than that probably not many things that would have kind of surprised you with that starting 11. No, not too, too many, as you said, I mean, Sinicello, I think, I mean, we could, you know, speculate on Casper's Michael's illness, what it is, if it's real or all of those things, but I think most of the support had been crying out for Sinicello to be given his chance, I'll be honest with you, in the limited game time I'd seen of him before that, I wasn't entirely confident that he was the guy that we needed, but even for Michael's sake and just based on
some of the goals easily and that change had to be made, I thought it was absolutely fine on Sunday and today as well and I'm sure we'll come to one of the really key moments that he had. The one that I questioned, well not questioned, but Macauin's starting was a wee bit, all right, okay, I'm not the biggest fan on Macauin, but there's a little bit just now that we don't have any would on starting 11, you know, there's a wee bit about and I think personally a new is probably trying to take in a single out or trying to get a feel for the players that have got the fight in them as opposed to maybe the technically best 11 players that we've got, you know, I think just now we're misfiring that much and he was looking for a wee bit of grit and determination, so I wasn't too bothered about it, even though I think the fact that if we're starting Macauin in games, must win games away at Petordry, I think that says a lot about where the team in the squad are. And Colin, what about yourself, anything that stood out to you about 11?
Oh, particularly, no, I mean, yeah, the sort of the midfield conundrum and the thing is like Macauin has ability, some sort of technical ability, but he's just so weak and I was kind of sad to see him start because I, yeah, I don't know, because like we're bringing on Benjamin Neekton to save the game and I feel that if he had more of a game about him and was like could do anything apart from score goals, then maybe he would be that start, start number, but you're really just missing angles at this point, you know, it's in Sunday, you know, when we got that penalty, that was, that was the first time I thought about Arnie Engels in a while and I've stopped thinking about him since, but yeah, pretty predictable otherwise, I was pleased to see Tvanshaar getting the start over at Danube, but I really think that one of the biggest things, you know, we've just got a huge, huge striker problem either we don't know how to use them
or all our strikers are dreadful. It was actually, it's a lot of culinary. I was trying to give it a bit of ambiguity just for discussion, but yeah, let's just cut to the chase. I mean sometimes when you sign players and you hear the fans of the club that we're signing the player from, when you see them actively celebrating the way the fans of clubs that we sign players from in January, it's always a bad sign sometimes, you think, okay, we do that when we sell players and the players go into a decent career wherever they go, but it's not happening for, is it, is it happening? So, Arnie, I'll come to you, is it happening for, for Tomas? Let's, I mean, it's definitely not happening for a junior senior, but what about Tomas? Do you think there's anything in anything there? Like is there anything that you can build on? It looks to me as if he would be good enough in that two up top, but Yeah, I mean, obviously with this, generally speaking, we're looking for a focal point through the middle, obviously we'll get two players out wide of the front three, generally, when we've
played in recent seasons, but of the, between having them in a, in a dame, and even made it to be perfectly honest, he's the guy I would start, and that's down on my faint praise, we've seen flashes from him, and I don't think he'd played that much this season, but he's been here long enough where you think he would be getting up to speed, but he just looks kind of like an honest pro, you know, a sort of a guy who will do a job for you, who won't hide, will work who sucks off, but he's lacking in quality, and it takes me back to when we signed Jack and Marcus, who would probably come under that mold, he was a bit older, obviously, and when he came in, he was very much second fiddle with Hugo, and they ended up leaving because he didn't want to be second fiddle with Hugo, you would kill, absolutely kill for Jack and Marcus to be your first choice right now, that speaks about the regression and quality, but it also, you know, you also need
to take in a temper yourself and go that Jack and Marcus wasn't that good, but he was so far ahead of our striking options just now, that when you're, you're saying is it salvageable or anything like that, well, he's the best of a bad bunch this season, but if he asks me right now, should we try and sign him permanently, the answer that that would be a firm no, he's not showing anything that suggests that he would be worth the investment to go forward now, the only caveat I'll say with some of these guys, and this isn't a slight unmarked new, but sometimes when you get a fresh late with a new manager who plays a different way, you know, he might come into his own, but you're guessing on something that might happen, so for me just now, you persevere with him because you've got no other choice, and that's a really honest review that if Sven Charrick, Steven Charrick, I think I've got that then. Victor Math. Victor Maths, if he hears that, he'll probably be warned, they'll warn the cockles of his hearts with that kind of really stunning review of him, but
for me, he's a guy, he's the best of what we've got just now probably, but he's just here to get to me, and that's the end of it for me. Just the way you're talking about him, it reminds me of like, like a dundee-nited striker that would maybe score five to ten goals in that season, and up against us, he would absolutely ragdoll our centerbacks, we would have a crisis about our centerbacks, and he would maybe score one goal. That's what if he was like to me, he's just one of those kind of players that would stand out a little bit out of the SPFL teams, but not massive lads, so much that you'd want to sign them, and I think that standard, I was listening to the agenda, I think it was last week, and someone, one of the subscribers wrote in about, or interesting scales, and how much they're just hopeless, and then at the end of the message, you said something, but at least it's not Daniel Mistorevich that we've got, and I was thinking about that comment, and how much I hated Daniel Mistorevich, I hated his big stripping, he'd did his black eyebrows, and everything about him, I just thought he was a shit centerback, but this is a guy who played
400 appearances, oh 400 something appearances, for teams like Celtic, A.K.R. Fins, FC 20, Basel, it's 50 caps for the Swedish national team at a time when they had a decent national team, and I think what you just said there about the standards, that's what we've got now, people, people are making fun of someone who is clearly a better centerback than what we've got just now, and it feels like boiling the frog situation where you just don't, and you don't get how far we fall in when it comes to standards calling, am I being too harsh, yeah? I don't know if you're being too harsh, but I do love the way that you manage to expertly flip that from talking about strikers to talking about centerbacks, because I have another sentence I'm back away to talk about that. I thought you might have something to say about that, yeah, but the sheer kind of, yeah, the sort of lack of quality is so visible, and I think just quickly on big, big time, I think he did some good things today, but like the thing is like he played in a cross that nobody else
apart from Tierney would play today, that he could have probably got his head on, but there was nobody there, he was a really nice cross from the right, he didn't get any of that kind of service, I'm not saying because he's tall, he's not sadly good ahead of us, but he kind of should be because he's tall, and let's face it, and some of his line-up play was good, and some of his hold, you know, I think I think he had a very thankful task, but so I've still got sympathy for him, I do broadly agree with you Chris, that it's probably not really, you know, you're not as enthralled by him as you were with Adam Eda, and we signed them for a lot of money, so I don't think that thing he's got a long way to go before we want to be signed them down permanently, but I think today was the general lack of quality, and also the trouble we have scoring goals, I think they were talking about the last, when we played them in 151 in Potogery, and we don't score five goals anymore, that's just not a thing that happens,
and the fact that Katie was one of one man mission to win that game, and taken every available shot, just showed me that, you know, he probably doesn't have a lot of faith in our cut and edge, so, yeah, we've been spending this whole season trying to find the positive, and I just think it's games like this that, okay, it's a win, but, you know, I'm aging rapidly watching these games, and, but, it's set in our backs, I actually thought Arthur, even though he wasn't the first choice for that start today, I thought he did, I thought he did really well, thought he was one of the best players in the pitch, I think, a bit of competence was shown for me, he had like one bad touch, but that I noticed, but I thought on the whole he had a pretty positive performance. That's a certain back I wanted to talk about, some money, I'm going to put it out there, I'm going there, he's the best at the back at the club. He could be, and I will also say that as an average of three grades.
I thought it was quite shaky at the start, and I think he said we're down, he looked okay, and then I think when he, when he first came on, he looked to me like a football player, and I think we've been crying out for a football player, and then, you know, Dane Murray start, I mean, I think the game against Rangers, I mean, he's got a real thing, I think about going for balls, he's left foot, and it just, that was one of the, you know, he made the big mistake against Rangers at Ibrook's, but then went on to have a, I think he'd find game after that, you know, but even at that, out of the forum, you could make an argument probably to say each, at one of these is the best, right, but I think that's probably in Arthur's case, we've not seen enough of them. Murray, when he has come in, has made some horrendous howlers in between some nice play on the ball, you know, able to move the ball quickly,
but then we scales and trust in things like that, it really is a toss-up between which one of them is better, and again, that just speaks volumes about where we are, but with Arthur, you know, there is a little bit about, okay, if Murray's now injured, you know, is there a chance for him to have more game time and he can show us what we've got, and right now, when you're looking at a guy who you're not entirely sure about, because you've not seen enough of him, I've still got more hope in him becoming a better stalwart for us between now and the end of the season than I do for any of the others, but I do think that when trusty suspension is up that any little bit, I'm straight back, but I wouldn't say I'm blown away by Arthur, but I've seen enough there to think that there's a chance if you go in there than you could get us over the line, so maybe not as hot on him as both of you, but certainly to me, he settled down in any looked at decent player today, and again, the positions are there for him to take,
it's just whether or not he does that and whether the managers get faith in him, but I think after that shaky start, I think he settled down and he was good today. I was one of the things I was to my friend at the weekend, he was Chris, I wasn't done worrying, I said out, basically what I said was we've got two categories, we've got shape players and we've got the might be shape players, and I just wanted to focus on this, the second group at the moment, the might be shape, but we just don't know completely at the moment, so that's where I've got Ben Arthur sitting in that category, because I'm hopeful he can move up a category to the other side. Ben, if it was Ben Arthur, that would be good, he was a good player, by the way. I get him in number 10. But that does give us a problem, Colin, before we move on from the centre, but we have a game this weekend again for angels, where we would either have to rush money back from injury, if that's even possible, or you would have to play Ben Arthur, or you would have to bring Austin
back and then remove him again for the game after that. So, pick your, pick your prize, what a least attractive scenario do you prefer? I think you've just got to go with what you've seen tonight, I think in Ben Arthur, we've been throwing players into Derby's early on in their time at Celtic a lot recently, and I don't think we should stop now just because I also think like, yeah, bringing trusty back, I think a bit of consistency helps, and I think we've seen the benefit of that in some respects, I think, just like Sinacell will have in a couple of games so we can see if he's shite or not, then just get a bit more evidence for the hopefully the not shite pile, but yeah, I would stick with Arthur at this point because, as you say, Dane Murray does seem to be quite injury prone, I don't think we should be rushing him back,
and I think that just a bit of trusty, we can't just be chopping and changing so much at this point, and I think he was brought in at the last minute, and maybe that explains the way some of the early nerves as well, so yeah, I've persisted with Arthur. Yeah, and I don't think we can forget just how horrendous that pitch looked. I mean, the players, the feet were moving underground the whole time, it was horrendous looking, but let's get to the kind of minute by minute. We started off really brightly, as I said, the first 10 minutes were probably the best football we played in a while, and I've got written down here in the first few minutes, it was a really nice move involving Rio, Atonic, Macau, and Tama, Thomas, but it came to nothing, and then we get the goal, after a great play from Jan gets a KT shot away, and it goes away for a corner, corner comes in, it's a pretty pure corner from Macau, and lame skills with these best moment of the night, does some kind of like overheads, basically kick some in, this makes
us sound a lot better than actually was, it kind of flicks it over his head towards the middle of the goal, and KT is here to finish it off. What were you thinking at this point, it's a good record against Aberdeen, but going there was always a difficult way again. Yes, it brought back memories of many, many great nights at the Ptojry, where we're blown away, scored a number of goals very quickly, and just going to put the game to bed. In first viewing it happened that quickly, there was a wee bit in my mind where I said it's KT offside, but no, it was a mile onside, Aberdeen defenders were totally static. Scales done well to create something, as you said, from a really pure corner, but I think the impetus in the start that we've had by that point, you were thinking, right, good, this is us, being hopeful, this was us going to show our T3 bit now, and maybe we would go on, to blow them away very quickly, and a couple of pals actually text me at that time and said,
it's good to get this early goal, hopefully we can put this one to bed very quickly. Spoiler that didn't quite happen, but I think, from our early efforts, I don't think you could argue with the early goal, and I think KT was really good and really sharp the way that he got in there, and just on, he's a guy who's been up and down this season, and... I said his position, mate. Sorry? I said his position. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. I think he's well, though, with him, there was question marks early on about his fitness and his ability to last games out. I don't think there are those questions anymore. I think you know what you're going to get from him, and that is a portion of the game. You're not going to get 90 minutes out of him a lot of the time, but what I do think with seen from him in recent weeks and months is he still have really quality football player. It's just that some of the aspects of his game that he had previously, before all his injury problems, have regressed a bit, but that eye for gold that he's had recently, and I think it was
you that said that call, and I mean, he basically was on a one-man mission today to, you know, take the attack and impetus and take shots on, but I think sometimes you need that. I think that probably comes from his desire for us to win this league. He hasn't been a Celtic supporter. I mean, sometimes you under, underplay that, you know, that whole, he knows what the club's about, he gets it and all that sort of stuff. Sometimes I think that that's a bit of a cliche in it, and it sometimes can be an excuse to bring players in. Well, a lot of the time, certainly for Rangers, if we're talking about they get this club, it's an excuse to bring thugs in, you know, they'll book, fuck out a player's basically, but we tend to think that there's something good about that, he understands that. Personally, he's back in his first season, wanted to come back here and win trophies, I would imagine, and he's driving and putting his forward with regards to that, and I think that he's heder and Sunday, and then he's gold today, was just that desire to kind of try and push us over the line within the limits of what he's capable of. So it was good to see him get
on the score sheet, and I think at the point that we scored, I think it was a decent reflection of the dominance that we had. And it's one of those things as well with Katie, like, it may not be the player he was when he left, but he is such a quality player still that if it wasn't for the fact that he had this Celtic connection, he would have been far out of our price range. We would not have been able to say, he could have gone to another premiership team easily or a Premier League team down there and got a good money. So it is good to have that back, seen him score, reminded me Colin of, remember that was it free now, we won under Brandon Rogers the first time he tiered the score really early from like a shot, it came over at the far post and he drilled it in the bottom corner, I think then barely got a goal as well, I don't know, maybe I'm the only one remembering this, but yeah, it does, it loves an early goal in Aberdeen, and that's all he can ask for. I don't know what the question is there Colin, if you want to answer something then go for it. No, I trust your recall is total, I'm sure.
Gail says he follows it at the back, at least I'm not losing my mind, so that's a good thing. But yeah, so that says one now what, we are basically pinning them back at this stage, it says, there's loads of nice patient build up, pay them around the box, and in the ninth minute we do that for a minute, so I'll live and then McGregor gets a shot away, which is saved low, and then Aberdeen start to kind of creep into the game a little bit, I wasn't really worried at this stage, but they start to push forward, there's a bit of a, in the seventh minute, there's a bit of a stream ash in the box, Aberdeen player goes down, Colin, and I think it first, I didn't think there was anything in it, and then it's just one of those ones where Scales looks to kick the ball away, and the last minute that Aberdeen player has removed the ball from his area, and Aberdeen player gets a kick instead of the ball, it's a stone wall pair, I suppose. Yes, Clumsy, and you're always going to get that given against you, but I think the main issue,
well obviously Scales is just naive to, and yeah, but you just want to point out that the pressing that we were doing in the first ten minutes, because I think there was a little bit, even Tenecte made a tackle in the first ten minutes, and I was like, oh, okay, and there was like, you know, because I think that some of the, some of the real concerns I had of the range of the game is the ball was ballin' about a lot in midfield, and we were not getting to first ball-set balls, you know, we were losing a lot, and there was a bit more control in that first ten minutes, and we were sort of quite, we were quite aggressive, and then we just seemed to sit back, and I think this was, we just kind of let them have the ball in their own half, and then play through, and I just think that that's, I don't know what the decision was to do that, and we were kind of inviting that pressure, and yeah, and yeah, you know, Scales, when we're giving them praise, we say that he's a good penalty box defender, a good penalty box defender doesn't fall for that trick,
with a striker, just basically just gets in front of you and takes a kick in the back. Yeah, so I was, I was pissed off of Scales, but I was also pissed off that we'd kind of let them get to that point in the first place. I'm just looking at the little comments that people send into the BBC, and someone has said Arthur reminds them of Virgil Van Dyke, and the other person says, Scales and the Raho should not feature against Rangers, they're considered goals every game, don't even or rousing or better right backs. So I need, did you have, have anything negative about Raho tonight? Nope, in a ward. It seems that as we guide Kev right in the BBC, it's off he's not. So this period of the game, so I mean for me was a bit just, it just became a bit better, like the kind of overwhelming pressure, we're self-dependent in back, that just wasn't there anymore, it just became much more of a basketball end-to-end. Aberdeen had quite a lot of physical
players, the guy that used to play for Manland was starting up front for them and he was putting themself about. It just got to one of those games where it went from feeling very secure at one note and us pinning them back to a one each game where anything could happen. Yeah, and I think that's a stat resilience thing where I think that we're quite often if Scales were on the front foot, we pin teams back and we create chances but don't take them. And then I think it can change on a dynamic, it can turn on a dime where the ball breaks in the midfield, Aberdeen come forward, and there was a lack of confidence, a lack of resilience, and a lack of somebody in the midfield have been perfectly honest, who's able to put a foot in the ball and retain possession. And that then feeds into, it's not all outpanic, but it's just a nervousness that goes through the team. When after we've pinned a team back that they throw a punch basically and essentially
we kind of go back and forth on that. Now even after that happened, we did have spells, where we had some nice playing more pushing forward. But if you don't get that goal, when the game's moving at the pace that it did at times, that nervousness doesn't go away. What you really do need, the best Celtic teams have been able those times to either get a goal to kind of shut the other team up or just slow it down a little bit and just move the ball around to kind of take the sting out of Aberdeen, but we're not capable of doing that just now. So when we had that spell at the start, it was good to get the early goal, but I think nearly everybody watching that would have been thinking, right, let's get more, let's get another taking a try and to kill it off if you were as early as possible because we knew that that might be coming because that's just kind of typical of our performances this season. But it did change pretty quickly and I think that's just a characteristic of where we are just now and I think we'll probably see that in what is our eight games to go, I think now not nine games to go.
Now I think we just need buckle in boys and that's probably where it's going to be like for the next nine games. But I mean, the crucial thing is we got the win, but this is not going to be fun. This is going to be nervous all the way out of all those factors. If you were a, if I was a betting man, which I'm not anymore because I'm shite at it, you know, I would say of those nine games, if we're to win any of them, I would think that winning any of them by more than one goal would be quite unlikely. And I think that's a combination of the striker problems we've talked about and that nervousness that goes through the teams, through the team sorry and our inability to keep clean sheets. So yeah, looking forward to the next nine games. I think we have, I think it was on BBC Sports and the other day that we've only won one game by more than one goal this calender year and it was like four cook to know at home, I think, in January. Oh, and in this and the lake.
And so we've only won one, we've only won by more than one goal once in 2026, basically, and the lake. So yeah, I've got a shape better according to you, but I think you're probably all the right when it comes to this bit. I mean, we just need to go back to the time, remember John Barnes, remember how 70 teams used to put at least five past that by the other time, we just need to go back to that year. We should reappoint John Barnes, that's what I'm saying. Colin, anything to talk about in the end of that first half, I mean, what I've got, it's 27th minute and good work from Yang gets the net Ken and left and he gets it and said netting, other than that, wasn't really much, much going. There was, yeah, there was fixing starts, there was a nice bit, about 37 minutes, according to my notes, there was like a really nice bit of a passing down the left hand side and Macau and the much more lean Macau and did a very nice depth chip, but then it kind of gets to sort of into the box and we end, I think it hits Yang and Tom and they can't quite
decide who's going to shoot or I think Yang passes it to, to the franchise era and there's nobody can get shot away. Katie, CalMac, a couple of like weak shots, there's a penalty check for a hambo, which is sort of of the stripe that if it was given against you, you'd be raging, but you've seen them given. What did you think about it? Nice, one of those words, where is this supposed about his hand? He has to have a hand at some point. The annoying thing is that the player in front of him actually puts his hand towards the ball, but he misses it, I don't know if you noticed that, he's actually makes like a play for it, so I was just like, I think we should get it just on the combination of those two actions, but yeah, it was, there were some moments, but I think that sort of equaliser did give us a, we've done a confidence, a done to our confidence. Well, this is, this is like, I'm on Caitlin Collins Show and I'm done at Trump because I'm
been fact check in real time here. Partly we've been donated for now on the 10th of January. Thanks for that, Gal, you're an upend. Okay, so let's move on into the second half. My first note, the second half, well, we didn't make any subs, so that was, that was interesting. My first note of the second half, so about 10 minutes into it, where we go direct with Yarn through for for said, but he gets to a near to the goalkeeper, basically around straight to the goalkeeper. And then a couple of minutes later, we have a really nice cross from Q and T on the big time, goes up for it and the Aberdeen player just gets ahead in front of him and it's a corner, nothing comes with that. And then about the sixth day of the minute, we make the subs, some anime, Maeda and Benji come on for Tomas and Macau, and what did you make of those subs? Did you expect those to start, actually? Sorry, Maeda and Benji in the green.
I got the impression that a new one was trying to keep goals on the bench, and if you will, or attacking impetus, and I think on Negrin, spoiler, again, he might make a contribution soon. After the Roma game, now I went to the Roma game, I didn't, I came off the home cup ticket scheme, didn't take the Europa League package, but both my boys wanted to go and see Roma, so worked out, got tickets and went to see. Did you explain another penicamp into them? I did, but they just started singing Ness and Dormann my face, and that was that, basically. We went there, and after that Roma game, maybe I was overreacting a bit, but I was screaming at him that it would listen to me that Benjamin Negrin should never play for Saudi again. His inability to hold the ball, his inability to show any sort of strength in, he was just pollen that night. Now, again, levels, we're not going to play Roma every week, but for me,
the guy is not a central midfielder. I don't think he can play really very well across the front three. I think there's been some folk that have suggested. I think I was listening to the agenda. I can't remember if it was Kirin or Lorenzo who was suggesting that he plays as a false nine, or rather, I'm not entirely sure, but Mano Man, he's like in Zaggy and midfielder. He cannot play football, but where would we be without these goals? Where would we be? That's a thing he calling, he seems to have the instincts of a striker. See, if you just showed someone a game, he, like a stranger, didn't know the team. They would think, okay, that's the replacement for Kiyoko. Because he's making, he makes the Kiyoko runs in behind the defense. He's making space in the six-shot box. He has basically a striker, apart from the fact that he's not officially a striker. I just, I've never known a player like it. It's like when he does start, it's like playing a four-free
two and Benjamin Negrin. It's like he's not part of the rest of the fucking team. He would just thought about and do his thing and maybe we'll score a couple of goals. It's, it's, I've never known a player like it. It's like a guest star in like a long, long-running sitcom. And it's just, and Benjamin Negrin, and he just comes in as a wee cameo, which normally happens to be a goal. Yeah, it's, yeah, it's emblematic of this season, isn't it? And I don't know, let's just try him. This is, try him as a first sign. I mean, like, you know, it's the one of, it's probably the only possession up front he hasn't tried, we haven't tried him in yet. So maybe he'll be just getting hat tricks every week. But, yeah, I think just briefly just before we can have cancer towards the end of this half, just I want to give a shout out to Sinacelle who's saved right and started the thing because I, that really saved the, like, and the thing is, I feel that in these limited appearances recently, we haven't seen, I think we've conceded goals, which weren't, he wasn't at fault for,
but we also didn't see a lot of saves around because we weren't actually sort of facing a lot of shots on target. And that was the moment when you're like, okay, we've got a, we've got a quality young keeper that can make those saves. Casper's Michael is not saving that in a million years. And, yeah, so I just wanted to, yeah, I just feel that he does deserve credit because he kept his in it because if we, we can see that start the second half, I would really, really doubt that we would get the win. I think we could maybe have scratched out a draw, but I didn't not want to go behind. So yeah, big shout out to the young Finn. So you and him, when he made that save, my mind did go to Casper's Michael and he would have went to it with these wrong hand and immediately the curbinger enthusiasm theme would have went on in the background. The minute he did that, is the ball trickled in the net. And then he would give every day that was in your shot, an absolute ball looking for a, I like, I like, I like, I like, Casper's Michael is basically like
the Santa Claus of this season, like, I've written jolly gentleman, he's boot at one point in the season, but we'll come back at the end when we win the trophy. He will bring it on, as when we win the league. He gets gifts to the other teams, am I right? Very good. Red and white Danish flag that is all coming together. There you go. So the two of them come on and it's a pretty instant impact within six minutes, Celtic score to go to one up. Great play from Rio Tarte to to find a Rocco on the edge of the box on the right hand side. And Forest then sets up Benjamin Grin for tap in, I think maybe three or four yards from go. Again, like, Negrin's coming on as a number eight. Why is he tapping it in in the middle of the six yard box from a cup bag? I don't know. I don't ask questions. It's fine. We're going to win the league with Negrin as a mucuro player. So it's going to be fine. A few minutes later.
Maida screws a shot wide. And the reason I want to come on in this quickly is because it was some cameo, some manual, some manual, some manual, some manual. Within half an hour, he screwed a shot wide. He fell over in the box. He is not having a good time at Celtic. How do you how do you solve a problem like does you sell him? Not now because we can't and we can't afford to, but the thing about Maida is for me, he has attributes. He has attributes that really have suited us at certain times. He's pressing and even, even at points tonight, you know, sometimes he is still quite remarkable just how fast he is and how he pushes back on it. But over his entire spell at Celtic, those are the one thing that you can't say that is a technically gifted football player. I mean, that's the one thing that is often made me think that he would stay at Celtic for
well, I was going to say as long as we wanted, but for a lot longer than one of our top players, if you would, if you will, shall we say, because where's he going to go? I mean, for me, those attributes and, you know, if you're going to talk about his pressing, could you say that he's best, he's world-classy pressing? I think you probably could, but there is not anything else in his world-class about, you know, Dyson Maida. And we'll maybe talk about Hitati and a little bit, you know, in the levels that he's previously been at and, you know, his technical ability on his game, Maida's never really liked that. So for me, it's almost kind of like, yeah, we had that last season, you know, where he was scoring a lot, but even at that point, I was thinking that that's not sustainable because the season before or the seasons before and the season after, he's not someone that's a prolific goal scorer generally, and as much as his presence,
you know, is really good, there's been periods where, you know, he couldn't get arrested, the guy wasn't contributing that much to it. When you add into the fact that all signs point to the fact that he doesn't want to be here, he's nearly able to go. And he's not a player that I'll mourn the loss of, you know, in terms of he leaves. There's guys who've left this football club who you go, I'm really gutted that they've gone. See, for me, Maida's not one of those guys. In that short, that's good wide, just it was almost kind of like the cliche of the worst of Daison Maida. So for me, using what you can, I'm not saying that he's not got moments of huge quality and we might get a few of them or at least one before the end of the season, but for me, it's just, you know, depending on what happens in the Scottish Cup, we'll get nine league games to see after that. Tell your agent you go and find your club, I think he's time itself takes absolutely over. That's one of the things Colin with Maida.
I don't even, I don't even want them, I don't even need them to go back to the last season, where he was scoring these crazy amounts of goals. He was scoring goals with really good technique, as well, which he didn't think he had it in him. I don't even need that. Like, if we could go back to him when he was just like the left winger in a couple of seasons with Ange and even the start of the Brendan Rodgers stuff, like that was, like that was, he was a fantastic left winger for his, he was an unusual left winger because he wasn't like a jorter or a cun, but he was really good at what he did in that left hand side. And we just don't even get that from him anymore. No, we get so little and it's kind of baffling because, you know, like today, I was thinking about whether, you know, there's some, whether it's a game state thing or he's getting to these chances because he's dying to Maida and he's faster than anybody else. And I think that's probably more the latter. But then he has two chances probably to rubber stamp the win today. And he,
he absolutely messes up both of them spectacularly badly. I mean, I would have loved to have seen just, just out of sheer interest because Chauhan Chara and Damu haven't had, I can't remember them having a situation where they had a bit of time and a chance to have a shot against the keeper, sort of one-on-one. But yeah, he takes it and you just have no confidence that he's going to do anything with it now. And I do miss him on the left wing because it's also this striker problem that we have to sort of bring him on and then put him down the middle because to Nick Day, who pretty much played the whole game, I think, apart from a few air moments very, very early on, he was driving me bananas and so, so predictable. Like, it's more predictable than Leipamma, and that's saying something. And you know, he was killing the moves left right in center, well, mainly left, but you know what I mean. And so, yeah, with Dyson, you may have got a bit
more sort of getting to the byline and more kind of cutbacks and all the rest of it. So, yeah, Dyson just feels a wee bit like, and also he's good for, he's good for us sort of the occasional like sort of petty foul and yellow card and putting things in danger, but you know, and so I don't know, we need every player in this very, this very sort of patchwork squad to get to the end of the thing, but yeah, I think it's been clear for a while that Dyson's for Pastors You know, one of the things that, if one of the things that I football club is there for and the manager is there for one of the things that a manager has employed for is to make sure that they do the best with the assets that they can, and they're moving it just from a financial point of view as a company, you need to improve your assets or build up your assets. And it feels like, you know, all the victories that we've had in recent years with like buying corn for so little and then selling them on matterally the same, there's also this collection of people that we've done wrong with that, what you think back to the ten season where you kept iron, you kept
edwards and you kept crissing, you got fucking buttons for them in the end where they would have been free the biggest assets to sell. Yeah, they had a massive bid for my either that we're not back because we didn't, we weren't prepared for it and we didn't have the scouting to get a replacement. And then even things like Somani, I was talking to someone about this other day, since we rejected that 25 million for Arm the Angles, he's played 71 minutes with getting nine games left, he's not anywhere near coming back, it just seems like again another stupid financial decision from a club that's just not prepared for the modern transfer market. And I know this is a bigger topic than anything else, but we're only talking about that because we're clearly, my either is overcooked at Celtic, like it is beyond prime, my either because we've kept them so long and that's a failure of the football club in general in my opinion. Yeah, and the parallels between this and the the Lennon's season 20, 2021 are kind of startling to be perfectly honest, I mean I've reached
for my mask a couple of points today because I thought it was Covid again, you know, and again it's punctuated by key players within the squad who, you know, by all intensive purposes no longer wanted to be here, and I think when you see my either's performance this season, and to Taty, I mean, I don't know if the reports have been as clear as my either that he wanted to leave or maybe they have maybe I've missed something, but his performances this season have really pretty much appeared like a guy who didn't want to be here, but because of the way that the clubs run, earn ability to scout other players and bring them in, we've basically turned around and pulled rank and said you're under contract in your stain here. As you said, Edward, you know, Christy, and in that season, these were guys who were basically told you need to stay because we've not got the business in a replacement, and that's reflected in their performance, you know, I think back with Edward back in the day, I'm pretty sure I had read reports that I was in
another one I think where we actually reneged on an agreement to say that you can go. That's just a terrible situation to be in, and the way that we conduct ourselves hasn't changed since then, so you're thinking that it's entirely the case with the likes of my either and the likes of I, you know, Taty and maybe others in there, and that's a bit of a reflect. Yeah, even if Yang was in a bit of a different position, you know, in terms of, I don't know, I mean, it was monon, I'm going for £3 million, I think he's shown a bit since then where you would think we would command more, but fundamentally, when you conduct yourself like that and then you're expecting players to perform at a top level, I mean, in many ways as fans, we would demand that they do, and they would say you're a professional, you still need to do it. It's not a good way to earn a club, it's just not a good way to embed, you know, morale within the team, and that's probably being reflected, but a lot of these goals come back to the one thing, it's the both,
it's the way they conduct themselves. And just on angles as well, when that bed was made, even though, you know, kind of everybody knew that you couldn't afford to do that, whether you'd rate them or not, and a lot of people don't, and they were thinking, Christ, you know, that's some bid for them, but you knew that we didn't have the squad depth, there were still some people saying, take it, you have to take it. Now, we didn't know we would get injured, but we're now seeing out the season without our new angles, and we don't have £27 million, or £25 million, whatever it was, so that's better, just went in the fucking bank anyway, but the point being, as you're right, the model, if you can move these guys on quickly and make the money back on them, that's the way they should do it, but we're not a well-run football club, but we're not a surprising, they'd be saying that, but that's the case. It comes back to, like, we couldn't afford to sell them, and the reason we couldn't afford to sell them is because it was just not, we were just not, like, efficient enough when it comes to being a football club, but it's ridiculous,
and when you think of players like Hattati as well, Colin, like I thought Hattati was great, when he came on against Rangers, I thought he was really good tonight, until the last 5 to 5, 10 minutes, where he seemed to just have a brain fart, but it was, it's the thing about these players as well, we forget how much, it's just humans going to work, and the one thing I heard recently on a podcast was, they were talking about Moce Allen, how Moce Allen has basically hit the shit season after getting a new bumper contract, and after the last season, where it was about, they have to give him a contract because they're blah, blah, blah, and one of the things getting pointed out in this podcast was Liverpool were basically over a barrel last season because of how good Salah had played, they couldn't not give him a contract because of how that would reflect to the rest of the players at the club, because the rest of the players were like, how could you treat them like that, and what are you going to do to me when my time comes? So it's something for Celtic to be thinking about when the players are not ready to leave or looking at us getting
in the way of the players that want to leave, and that's going to maybe have a negative effect on the rest of the squad as well? Absolutely, I mean, it's not like they don't talk to each other, as you say, it's a workplace, and it's going to be a buzz with Chech at about how they're getting fucked over, and like in the same way in the transfer market, how we've conducted ourselves, and how we've kind of developed quite a bad reputation, for some of the way we conduct business, or don't conduct business, and like once is maybe carelessness, but like to have all these examples about players that are essentially being told that they can go or whatever and then are stopped because of the aforementioned incompetence of our scouting network. That's not only is it going to create tensions within the players that are here, but it's also going to get around generally, like you really want your career to sort of potentially stagnate at Celtic when you're looking,
especially when we're working at our best, we're viewed as a stepping stone club where you can come absolutely blow people away and then move to like a bigger club in the top five leagues, you know? So you just feel that maybe that sort of reputation has been quite badly tarnished, and also it's reflecting on the pitch. I mean, as we're seeing it in real time, if you don't treat players well, they'll, you know, whether subconsciously has not. I don't think Andy's been unprofessional in down-and-tools, but they don't have the motivation and to sort of really do their best work. So super straightening also annoys me as well, because players don't get, often get the chance to go out like heroes, you know? Like you were brilliant, see you later, you know? Thanks for all the money. It's like you were brilliant, and then you were not so brilliant, and now we hate you. So yeah, very, very frustrating all right.
So the game up until injury time, the game was peatering out a little bit. The only note I've got in the 80, 80 odd minutes is in the 85th first minute scales, did one of those things where he said his second touches a tackle, where it literally was, he tried to control the ball and then had to run two meters ahead of himself to tackle an Aberdeen player. So that was fun just to see that in the wild in reality happening on the football pitch. And then when it got to 90th, 90th minute, so many are kind of control over the game, seem to vanish. Real attack, it went from having a very good game to just being a bit all over the shop. He slide tackles in 18 yard blocks, the lesser spotty slide tackle in the 18 yard blocks. It was actually very similar to what scales to give away the penalty and that he can affirm himself at the ball, not realizing there might be an Aberdeen player there. Thankfully, it misses ball and player, and as you mentioned at the start of the podcast, if the Aberdeen player had been a bit more canny, it might have been
a last minute penalty. What did you, what did you make of Rio Tatis performance overall in this match? Samania? I thought it was good. I think the energy that we've seen from him today and on Sunday in the second half has been missing for a while. I mean, I've said this before just to restate it, seeing his time at Celtic, when Rio Tatis bit the top of his game, he has been by far the best player in the country. I think he's reached levels that even McGregor hasn't, when he's been at his best. But one thing I'll say about him from when he came in, and I think those levels were predominantly under post-coglu. One thing I'll say about him though is I don't think he's developed. Now you could point at the club and say that's Celtic's fault, but no, not backing up the club or the board here. I think I think about it. You can't just blame that all on him. I think refining
your game and becoming better, part of that's down to the player, part of that's down to listening to the coaching staff and as much as... Did you get a hospitality at that room again, Samania? Absolutely not. Absolutely not. No, no, no. I went in with the plebs and don't you worry, spat in the direction in the boat. No, I don't really, just in case. MD's listening. But the thing about Hitati, as I said, some of the levels that you've seen from him, he's looked an incredible football player, but all round he's never kind of, you know, finessed the rough edges around his game. And you know, where we are just now, he's a pale shadow of what he once was or what he once could be or what he might be, potentially if he goes elsewhere. But one thing that he's never snuffed out is that rashness. He's fond of a rash tackle. You know, when they used to say, Paul Skull, Paul Skulls was bad at tackling. No, I think Paul Skulls was just a dirty bastard sometimes when he played football, to be honest. And I wouldn't quite
go that far with Hitati, but sometimes he is just, he just wants to linger in. And tonight, I mean, you look at moments in games, three attempts he took to put that penalty in, but he did. And real Hitati was the difference in the second half and he rescued a point for us. Tonight, it was excellent. You know, he received the ball, he turned the ball, he was really good. But at a different night, he connects with Cameron. He goes down for a penalty in the score and he's developing. And that's how small it can be. But I think it speaks volumes about Hitati that his form's been really good. But even when it's, it's, you know, in the last couple of games, he started to kind of pick himself up again. You've still seen certain things about him that he's never quite rubbed out. He's never kind of polished, if you will, in terms of his overall game. He's a rough diamond of a football player when he came here. And he probably still is that, and we're probably getting less out of him. But putting all that aside, see if we're
going to win the league this season. We need him to play football. We need him to be even at the level he is at now. We don't necessarily be great if we could get him at his best. But I mean, if we got him at his best, I think we would win this league quite comfortably. And that's how much I already done at one point. But we need him to contribute in a way that he hasn't in this season over the next, you know, nine games, as we say in the league. Because if we don't, we don't have anybody near his quality. But it was good that he continued that form the age should in the second half of the Rangers game. I'm not convinced that we'll see that from him. But I've got my fingers crossed because I think on form real Hattati is the thing that we need the most, if we're going to win the league this season. I think I was on a podcast with Krushen and I've described him as like a player that I have never known up there itself to come in with such high potential and then just not really like tick above it. It came in almost like we send
them for buttons and it came in either. That's a 15 million pound player we've just signed for nothing. And he's just never really got above that level. Like he's been good overall. He's been excellent overall in his Celtic career. It just feels as if he was someone that's going to come in at that level and then we would sell for 40 million or something like that. It's just never really happened for him. But yeah, he's not one of my favourite players. But it's a couple of things with him. I think it's sometimes you need to take in and refine those elements of your game that need work on. There was always a consistency element with Hattati as well. I don't think that you ever, you know, this McGregor he's best throughout, as I said I think, real went to higher heights. But there was periods and there was seasons where he was a 7 out of 10 minimum every week. And it's that consistency where you just know you're getting that. You've never had that with Hattati. Quite often you would dip below that. You would get a few games in a row where he's an 8 out of 9. But, you know, I mean, that's not uncommon. A lot of players are like that. But I think you're
spot on in terms of he's never quite kicked on when everybody looked at him and looked at me. He's best and said, you're going to get a record transfer for Defi for you at one point. But, you know, anyway. In that last five minutes of Hattati Madness, they also put, I would say a short, about 40 yards by the posts from inside the box. It was remarkable to see how someone could kick it at that angle from such a close range. But yeah, it was fun to watch. It was quick, quick pod, Polna, was Midas shot worse or Hattati shot worse? At least Hatties is a wee bit of power. I thought they were playing that sort of golf game where you trying to get it close to the head and they were just doing it with the corner flag. You can get it closest to the corner flag. That was that was lead through Reno's putt and challenge that they were playing tonight when they were doing that actually. You have chosen power drive. He suggested yes, putter. Yeah, I think that the thing about just my just my two cents on real Hatties, the fact that
you're always most frustrated by the players that have the best ability and, you know, they can do wonders and you just get so upset when you see it right and also that those rough edges, like for the fact that he's played in Scotland so long and still doesn't understand that he will never win these fouls in the midfield when he gets a slight push in the back and he goes down and it's just like things like that. It's like some players can get away with it. You can't stop doing it, but yeah, and just that we try to say. But on the whole, like, yeah, proud to see like he's continuing above this good form. And let's just hope it just kind of, yeah, let's just hope it continues because it's still giving us a bit of an age in the midfield and our midfield is such a conundrum otherwise. Later on in the game, well, just before we scored a second, actually, I forgot to mention it, Forest and Sir actually came on to the park,
Sir actually came on, left back, obviously, I've turned it and Forest came on for a young and then a Kobe Donovan and about five minutes ago came on right back for a role. So that was that basically the game, the game finished 2-1 Celtic. Before we go on to some of the list of questions, so Manny, would you surprise not to see Oxlid Gimbal and get on the pitch and what do you think that says about his role for the game in Sunday? I think Sunday's game there says more about his role for the game in Sunday. I think what you know about Oxlid Gimbal and his technically is a very good football player, he's good on the ball. I think when he came in, the suggestions where his legs had gone. Now, I think that's probably a fair assumption to make, but there was also the whole thing that he wasn't up to speed match fitness wise, but he was blown away in that game, utterly blown away on the basis of the pace of it. I think him not playing tonight
suggests, well, you know, that could have taken a lot out of him and there's also a bit about changing up the team and trying to get those, as I said, and he was going to try and get the people that are up for the fight most of all, but I think the game in Sunday and the game now suggests that he's not got a chance to start, there might be a chance that, you know, he comes on later on in the game and they're hoping that he might be able to put his foot in the ball, especially, especially after I think what we've seen is the Rangers huff them puffed in that second half because they put everything into the first half, and I think if we had seen a fresh Oxlid Gimbal it might have been a bit different, so I think he might see that this Sunday, I think he might see that he's on the bench and, you know, fingers crossed, we've got a lead to defender something on that, you might see him come on, but I would suggest that him not starting tonight suggests that he's not going to be close to that starting ball from Sunday as well. I think with the way the subs are, with the five subs every game, it's like you can know a fourth of starters and finishers in your squad, and I think we're someone like Oxlid Gimbal and
Binagia's. I think someone said he hadn't played over a thousand minutes in any season since the pandemic, which is obviously going to add up to the fact that he's going to be struggled to get up to match speed, but bringing him on in the last 20 minutes, I wrote since Sunday could be exactly what the game needs, so I think start with legs, start with fight, and then if the game's even going into the last 20 minutes, 30 minutes, get there, get the players on, they can win the game for us. Okay, let's get to some questions. We might have covered some of it already. Gao Dead Sea was going to put the questions in the chat. I've left the chat open for Zoom, where he's been commenting, calling me a dick, etc, and he hasn't put the questions in there. I just noticed that he put them in the chat for the WhatsApp groups. I mean, you can't really get the producers these days. Okay, so Alan first comment was, I thought Arthur was solid and looked very comfortable on the ball. Do you start him at Iberts? Also, with Dyson's talents, stolen from him in some sort of space, jam, alien heist, Guy can't kick a ball this season.
I think we've covered Dyson, Colin, would you start Arthur at Iberts? I have all, I think we covered that as well, because I said it, I would. Alan, just in the mud to you, Colin, just slapped down. Yeah, I think I would start him as well. I mean, what a choice. I'm just going to stir it in space thinking about this for the next five minutes. Russell, someone who will come to you for this one, for the reaction, I quite worked for big Ben Arthur solely without being flashy PS, I hate my either. So very similar to the last message, somebody do you have anything to add to that one? I would be against the start, Arthur, and you wouldn't know where you'll bring trusty back. And I can cover on Dyson. This edge like takes me into the next one, quite well. Andrew wrote in to say, for the reaction, Arthur, I quoted himself well tonight and Mario had shown signs of problems. How you've gotten, will it be seeing six trusted five skills on Sunday? Everyone wants to speak about the same thing? Yeah, I know it's just because
it's all coming down the turnpicking. We all know what's going to happen. Yeah, I put much more to say about that. So just a question, let's assume Murray would be fit for Sunday. Would you play Arthur and Murray in that game? I would, on paper, that would be my choice of centrebacks. But obviously, something bad would happen. And both of the careers would be ruined and it would be the end of the cup. I don't know. Colin, you answer that one. Yeah, I mean, it's, it's, I don't think I've either ever played in scales in this position. Like, I know, I know, well, you know, sort of the left hand, the left hand side. But yeah, I think the thing is it's, it's, it's so tiring to think about leave scales and I'm so tired with everything. No, I wouldn't do it because
you're right, something catastrophic would happen and you'd never hear the end of it. And I think maybe if we give leave scales enough rope and I feel I've given quite a lot of rope, maybe one day we'll be shot over and I feel he'll go and have an next time somewhere else, please. If it was to me, like, it's a trap, like, given me the chance to remove scales, like, start of ending in joins, I'm putting my hat down and pick out the gold thing and it's going to be fine for a second and then a big boulder is going to fucking chase after me. It's, yeah, I'm leaving that one. A big boulder that, uh, Dave Murray will have a swiff at in this. So let's get into the manager's comments before we go. Um, he was speaking to BBC Scotland, he said, quote, it was a tough evening, which I expected anyway and we've certainly got that. And it was nice to come through and win the game. We scored early on in proceedings. I felt as though we should have just asserted a bit more superiority. We allowed Aberdeen into the game. They get penalty and then you're forced in the second half to try to conjure something up, which we did. We could have scored a cup of goals towards the end as well. It would have been nice
if that was the case. It wasn't though. We should resilience to fight it out towards the end. Um, it feels like those quotes from Martin the Orchist, like, what's that, what's that comedy thing with the guy? Like, right songs to describe exactly what's happening. I think it was a family guy or something like that. So that feels like, Martin, he was just described the game in, in pull quotes at the end. So, um, some money, anything to take from those comments from Martin. Yes, it's, uh, generic manager quotes and a game you've won two one and you need to fill some space. But what I'm going to mention is, uh, the, I hate Celtic when it comes to throwing, no, I don't hate Celtic. Well, sometimes I do. But I hate Celtic when they take throw-ins. The throw-in from Donovan and the take by Negrin to then play Saratchaeon, late in the game. It was appalling from Saratchae. We'd, you know, put the ball over and there was guys free. And as Anil said, we could have won that. But, uh, I thought that was worthy of I mentioned because normally when we get throw-in, it's, we're just giving the ball away in some
of these going for us. But that long throw from Donovan to Negrin in a way brought it down played out in Saratchae. Nothing came from it, but I thought it was worthy of a mention and, uh, I've tenuously liked that to Anil's comments about being able to score later in the game. So that's reminds me when we used to have the, the two takeaways at the end of the reaction. So that was good. Thanks for that. Well, that's one of mine. That's one of mine. Yeah, like, what I like about Saratchaeon, this is nothing to do with his footballing ability. It says the big hair in the beard, it looks like a 80s South American footballer. Like, I want to keep him just for that, like, a, a, a lich for Oshis. So that's, that's, that's all you can ask for. I thought he was quite good today. I thought he was fine. Apart from that, that Chris, you should have done a bit with that, but yeah. Yeah, absolutely, but I, I thought he, um, I think he's a really able deputy and I'm glad we have him. And, uh, I've got a funny feeling he is going to get an important goal in this run and that's going to be one of my productions. There you go. I like us. I, I like that. And then, and you know, you've seen a Rahul who's going against
command. Look, can you imagine a last minute winner by Saratchaeon against Rangers? Just, just, that's the other reaction. And then he grabs his balls. That'd be fantastic. Um, so that's it. Both of you forgot to take him here. That's a, I've done the last one, but that's, that's fantastic. Um, so neither of you are probably going to be on a pod before Sundays. So I'm going to go to you, Colin, first of all, um, watch your team. We've, we've seen the game last Sunday against them. We saw the first half and second half. We've seen the 90 minutes tonight. What are you changing for the next go around, uh, against Rangers eyebrows? Oh, boy. Uh, what have I changed in? Um, uh, I think, I think Macauin cannot start, uh, because he is, I think he's got some technical ability, but he's so weak, um, and we saw that kind of ferociousness from Rangers. Um, so then you're into this, so maybe starting the green this time
round. Um, and I think we try and, we try and go for the joggiller earlier, uh, rather than sort of keeping the goals in the bench. I think having, uh, the ox as a kind of quality backup is a good shout. Um, so I quite like that idea. Uh, since Aloe, obviously, I mean, I think, I think the jersey says, um, and I'll be really frustrated if Michael, um, uh, sort of sogsies way back into the team, um, up front. I don't know, I think we persist, but yeah, I don't think Yang had these best game today. Uh, but he had, he had some, some moments and he hit the by-line at least once until he did not. Um, so why don't we try Dyson on the left and see if that, uh, that, that brings from results? Cause I do think Dyson, um, for the kind of chaos ball element in the frosty, uh, at the start of, uh, a derby might, so let's, let's, uh, let's keep big time up front,
Dyson left Yang on the right. Okay, so many, anything you would change about the 11? Working my way back from the front three, I would probably play Yang, Chivanchara, and Maeda on the left. Um, Tineke is, is that impact sort of something? Tineke, you know, see when he makes an impact as an impact sub everybody calls for him to start because, well, we need players to start, but, um, I like him in that robe, so I would start Maeda on the left. Coming back in the midfield, I mean, we're talking about impacts, obviously that's the problem, isn't it? It's, it's my, it's McGregor and Hitati, and then it's a toss up between the other three to be honest who you start, as much as I slagged them earlier on about my Cowan start, and I might want to start him for the reasons why I'm thinking bringing Negrin on and, and actually
chamberling for different reasons, you bring Negrin on if you want to go, you may be bringing actually Chamberling on if you want somebody who's a bit more comfortable in the ball against that tire and range of sight to, you know, maybe create something so, um, I'm only really going to say McGregor and Hitati, and I don't care how you pick out the other three, it just depends how you want to utilize them. Uh, and then at the back, ah, you're going to hate me for this, but it scales and thrusty, and that's not because I will rate them, or I think that they're better than the other two. There is just a little bit about that experience that the other two don't have, and it's off the back of, and I know Murray, well Murray's going to be injured, so let's room him out, but I think putting Arthur in is, would be a bit unfair, um, with regards to that, so I'm going to play it safe, I'm going to play it boring, um, and go with that, and then turn the arrow, and yeah, Michael's still going to be alcohol, and don't you worry, he's going to be out at the end of the season, so CineSalo will be in goals. I would, I would, so I'm going to just work on the assumption
that Murray is not going to be fit, so I don't need to make that choice between scales and Murray, so I think I would have scales and Murray, scales and Arthur at the back, um, I think I would have the Portuguese duo ledle come in out the code to sit in the midfield with McGregor and Hattate, like to just say a bit running in there, a bit of a composure on the ball, and I would, I would go for it, niggering up front, and my aid on the left and yang on the right, and just, just see what happens, I mean, something special might happen, Swedish players lights go on the Iberks, you've got Mikael Lister, you've got Larsen, all the goals he's got, the Iberks is, it's written in the styles, and one thing about Connect K as well, like, I think there's a big discussion now about how if someone comes off the bench and does really well, the clamor for the next match is that you start them, and what you're doing is you're putting the player in a different game state to the one that they've done well in, whereas maybe you just keep that person to be the guy off the bench,
like, him in going back to years, like, oh, oh, oh, look at him, I'll show you, he was the guy off the bench, that was his job, he came in when defences were getting tired, that's what I think Connect K could do for us, he might know what happy doing that going forward, but I think for the rest of the season, he should be a six minute man, he should be the one coming in and running defences when they're getting tired, that's the way I see him, a controversial Celtic, do either of you have any opinions on that when it comes to Connect K? Best of way, sorry Colin, yeah, no, no, no, I just, I just, I just, no, I think you're, you're bang on, and it's, it's that idea of, like, stars and finishers, and I know this is something that occasionally gets muted, but I don't think football players have that mentality, you know, like, is it all that happens in rugby, but like, I think, yeah, yeah, footballers take the hump if they're not chosen first, but I think that Connect K is definitely your impact hump, and in the same way that, like, you know, the forest kind of is as well, because like,
you know, you're bringing on forest, when forest starts as well, you have to see the same problems, that he just can't quite last enough to get to the substitution almost, you know, and I think to Connect these first 10 minutes for the best time, so maybe he's just only, it maybe it doesn't matter when he comes on, he's just only got 10 minutes of real football in him, he might as well put him on, like, towards the end, you know what I mean, so, but you know what, like, prove me wrong Sebastian, prove me wrong. Then you go, there's a challenge, they got that heading from down. Well, this was, it was a fun reaction to do, it was a, it was a vital three points, we have a 27 more points to play for, it's getting to the business end of the season, hopefully 12 games in total, if we make it to the cup final as well, so it is going to be a ferocious, it's going to be a nerve-wracking, it's going to be, it's going to be a title, a title fight that may be a Celtic fans have not experienced for the last maybe 15 years or some of that, so it is going to be interesting, a special for the young, the young ones that don't
remember the 90s, like we've remembered the 90s, so man, it's been an absolute pleasure. Yeah, thank you very much, enjoyed speaking with you both, and we march on to the next game, where we will be a bag of nerves within your pants, but that's what it's all about. And Colin, that final show you put on Instagram this evening, I want it, Karen, you post it to Jim there for me. It says plainly on Instagram posts that pick up from South Street, and it's not South Strasse, so sorry. There you go, tonight, tonight. I think I've got to sell it as well, game, sorry, but you know, there'll be other ones. Fine, I was going to offer money, but okay, okay. I've been grim a car, this has been the reaction, and we will catch you down the road.
