Sources say Romeo Dobs. The Packers standout receiver has agreed to terms with the Patriots. He is a new target for Drake. Make it a deal. Four years, roughly $70 million for Romeo Dobs. You wondered what was his payday going to be like? It is a lot. It is a lot. And for the Patriots, you know, I think it's safe to say they have been in the receiver market for some time. And there's a lot here. First of all, there's Dobs who has been, I would say, on the field and off an interesting case for the Green Bay Packers talent has never been in questions. Patriots hoping to hit it big there. The other part of this is the Patriots have been in talks at various times over the last week or so with these Philadelphia Eagles on a potential deal for AJ Brown. AJ Brown is making a lot of money. Now, the Patriots, you can do a lot of different things with the cap. But if the least, what this is, is a big money signing in the receiver room. At a time when many thought it would be AJ Brown. If it's not the Patriots for AJ Brown, the Eagles face

the possibilities kind of going back to the drawing board. Or maybe Brown goes, you know what, I'm going to open it up and consider going to some other teams. There's a lot here. But for the Patriots and for Drake May, most importantly, they get a big time target in the receiver room. Our two Jones and Keith WEEI, that was Ian Rappaport. Like five minutes after our show ended yesterday. Of course. We're all a little prone to hyperbole. I feel like it got away from him a couple of times there. A little bit. Stand out. The talent's never been in question with Romeo Dobbs. They got themselves a big time player. All right, we're doing too much. I think it's a nice signing. No, he's not terrible. Well, let's start there. Yeah, he's not. Guys, if you think he's terrible, he is not. He's not trash. Yeah, say these trash players. He's a he's above average player. Yeah. No, we've mentioned his name a few times. And it's funny because yesterday we had Tom Kurnon. And he was like, it's AJ Brown or bust. And then they end up signing Romeo Dobbs and giving him decent money.

And he's a name, you know, Nick brought this up yesterday. Nick was, he's pro dobs. He's a dobs head. He's a big dobs stand. Yeah, he was like, he thought, and I'm sure there are others. And the Patriots have to be on that list too. That in 2026, he'll be better than Steph Diggs in 2026. Whatever. That's really better than Diggs in 25. Correct. Whatever Diggs does this year, Nick believes Dobbs will out produce Diggs this year. And that is possible. Is an interesting take. I mean, he might be right. I would take the Diggs side of that, but let's see. So I also think with any of these receivers that just finished their first year, or their first contract, they're available for a reason. So the Packers, I think we're fine moving on from him. So Christian Watson's a better player. He didn't have as many receiving arts. He didn't play as many games. Now he's average boy. He's hard all the time. But he's here when he plays. But they had a lot of guys. Matthew Golden, they drafted. I don't know if he's going to be good or not. They dropped him in the first round. He was not good as a rookie, but first round picked. Jalen Reed, they have, they got the tight end.

I know he got hurt, but like they have, they have few options for Jordan Love. I think they got a pick. They can't pay everybody. I think they have paid Watson. So they're picking who to pay and it wasn't this guy. So look, the patch are giving him four years, 68. I applaud them for spending. Let's see how real those numbers are. Like last year we dug in on Milton Williams' contract. It's not quite what it was publicized as. Yeah. The digs contract wasn't even close to what it was publicized as. Even the Vera Tucker trade, we've already found out. He's getting $250,000 in roster bonuses and per game bonuses to stay healthy. So like, let's see what the numbers actually are. But 468 is real money. And I think they really had to out bid other teams to get him. He's 25. He's 6204. You know, I hear a lot of criticism about him not playing. Rapshee just said it. He's played 13, 13, 13, 16. Yeah. So he went. It's banged up during games, but comes back. Okay. I mean, so he's, that sounds like every other football player. Sounds like somebody who's tough to me. Yeah. But so 55 for 724 and 6 touchdowns last year.

The 55 were the second most in his career. 724 was the most. Six touchdowns were second most. So he's coming off a good year. I have one word to describe him. Eh. He's eh. And if he's your number one, that's not good enough. If he is in addition to what Rapshee was saying there, AJ Brown, then I really like it and then it makes sense. It's like, oh, you have dobs and booty and AJ Brown's the alpha number one. That makes sense. And that's a good receiver room. Dobs, booty, Mac Hollins with Kyle Williams sprinkled in. That receiver room won't get it done. So I like Romeo Dobs enough. He's fine. Eh. As a signing, but you need an alpha ahead of him. If you get that, I really like the receiver room. If not, I think you're worse than you were last year with Steph Dicks. Yeah. I agree. I think he's a value add overall, but you don't want to put too much on him. So in four years, they're better than they were yesterday. Yeah. But they're worse than they were last year. Not there. Yeah. Yeah.

Certainly at that receiver. That's what I mean. Yeah. So if you look at his, and you're right, he's been pretty durable over the course of his career. If you did 17 game averages, right? So he's only actually played 17 games once. So you're sort of giving him what he would do if he played 17 games. He's averaging 58 catches a year just under 700 yards and six touchdowns. So there's some production there. He has 21 touchdowns in four seasons. Yeah. And that's not the missing. And some of his red zone metrics are good. And he gets open in the red zone, which nobody could do last year. They definitely need that. That's fair. No, that's very good. I view this as, go back to 07. I believe the order was, they got Welker first, then Stallworth, then Moss. Moss was definitely last. He was the game at the draft. Yeah. So like, Welker, you're like, oh, nice one. They're like, Stallworth, that's pretty good. Like, you're like, I don't know if he's like a real number one, but he's like, he's fast and like, whatever. But then you got Moss after the fact. And that's how maybe I view this one. Whereas if you went brown first, then Dobbs, I think everybody has much more of a positive reaction to the signing. Agreed.

So slot imperfectly. If it's, if it's AJ Brown, and then again, you know, Dobbs and Booty are like, you're way better than two. Two A and two B. Yeah. That's a, that's a really good receiver room. So, you know, Twitch chat is saying no one expects Romeo Dobbs to come in and be a true number one. Well, you, well, I hope not. Right now he is. So like that. And that to me is a downgrade from Diggs last year. Maybe he'd outperform Diggs this year. But like, Austin is one playoff game last year. Did more than Diggs is four playoff games last year. Okay. And I think Dobbs has had a couple of good playoff games in his life. Did you see Mike Reese's tweet? Yes. How much of that was, you know, Jordan Lovehuck and up to him when they were behind against the Bears and losing the Bears. They were winning against the Bears. Is that when he was putting up his stats? Was it, was he putting it up when they were behind Jason? Well, they were tied and he had a long catch towards the end. Got it. Did you see Reese's tweet after the Dobbs signing? I did not. All right. So this I found strange. He said top Patriots wide receivers. And then he did the thing where he had like the little football emojis and he listed six receivers.

The receivers are not listed in alphabetical order. Okay. Therefore, I assume he is doing his own mental one through six. Don't leave. Look at it. Okay. I'm not. Do you want to guess? I'm looking up his postseason game. No. Just the professor. But like I said, I think he've ranked them as where he would slot them in in a death chart. Yep, that's my guess. Because again, otherwise you would just do alphabetical order. So if I had to guess, I would go Dobbs wrong. I was surprised by this. What does he have? booty. Yet. K Shang booty won. I would go Dobbs booty. Holland's Williams chism. Whoever else. Who else. Who else am I missing? If he has a pop on the tape. Oh, yeah, I'd put pop below Mac. What does he have? He has K Shang booty. Mac Holland's. Romeo Dobbs. Kyle Williams, DeMario Douglas, Efton Chisholm. So I have a theory on hype. Well, I have a theory on maybe why he did that. Is he go, because Boone and Hollins are outside receivers and Dobbs is gonna play more in the slot here in like a digs type role? Is that why he put him third? Oh, maybe. I mean, I just tried to think of why Reese would do that because Target-wise, he's definitely gonna get more

than all of us. But where would you put digs if he was on that list? Wouldn't you put him at the top? I would put digs one. So if you think Dobbs is somewhat a digs replacement and you would put the dogs in there. I don't think Dobbs is a pure slot. I think you can play outside. I just wonder if he's projecting some of that. But yeah, that's not what I'd order. Not only would I put Dobbs at the top, I'd put pop over Kyle Williams. What has he seen out of Kyle Williams? Wow. I'm higher than that. I would wish. I would wish cast Kyle Williams ahead of pop, probably. All right. But anyway, you look at that group and you're like, that's not a great receiver room. You know, last year, one of the advantage the Patriots had over the bills was the receiver room. Like all year long, we looked at it that way. And this year, they had DJ Moore. And so now it's a little bit closer to what Buffalo's was. Dobbs, in his playoff career, Nick is right. It's pretty good. Well, he had a bananas game. His first playoff game, I think was insane. So like three games, two really good ones. His first one, six for 151 and a touchdown against Dallas. They scored 48 points. They lost the next week to the Niners. He went four for 83 in that game, so good. By the way, losing playoff games is familiar to Romeo Dobbs.

He had two catches for 13 yards in 2024 against the Eagles, so toss that one out. And then last year, eight on 11 targets, one, 24 in a touchdown. So he's one and three in the postseason, but he's producing three out of those four games. Right, three out of four right now. What I would ask is, all right, well, if he's so good in these playoff games, where is he in the regular season? It's Charles Barkley here with Wayfair. Let me tell you, game day is serious business at my house. If I'm grilling, chilling, and watching hoops, my outdoor setup, that'll be ready to play. That's where Wayfair wins. Well, I also, yeah, well, there's that, but to me, the coffins is a mess with the floor. But it stands out to me that they balance it, is would probably be the answer. And maybe, like that's what stands out to me, the packers are pretty good at like, drafting receivers and developing some of their guys. They don't spend money though. Yeah, but don't they, they usually don't spend money on other guys. They don't see the guy they like, we're Sean Gary, we're Sean Gary walked. They spent on Parsons. Yeah, I know it's like a, it's like a different level of player, but like, I mean, they spend on some guys. So they lost their left tackle. They lost basically everybody from last year. Yeah, Jenkins is out, Rashid Walker's out. Maybe some of that is the after effects of paying Michael Parsons. Maybe that's why you can't keep players like that. I don't know, but they kept Devonte out of them. They chose not to keep him. His regular season numbers are pedestrian, but there's, there's a lot of mouths to feed in Green Bay. That's not the right way to put it.

There's, they're all kind of similar type of receivers. And so you spread around the production. I also think if you want to be charitable to him, why does he stand out in the post season? He's good against man coverage. The Patriots struggled against man coverage last year compared to zone. And so maybe you see more of that in the post season and he stands out more in the post season. Maybe that's why. But okay, that's Romeo Dobbs. To me, I'm not satisfied unless someone like AJ Brown is coming in text line is saying Brian Thomas Jr. I take him. I hate to burst your bubble chapter came on yesterday and said he's not available, okay? So you can cross him off the list. AJ Brown, I think is very much. That's what they want you to think. Well, sure. Yeah. AJ Brown, I think is very much in play. So if you get AJ Brown, great. I feel differently about the Dobbs signing. If Dobbs is the number one receiver in your room or according to Mike Reese, the number three, I don't feel very, I don't feel very good about your room. Right. Meanwhile, I don't feel good at all because it stinks to high heaven about what's going on with Max Crosby. There needs to be an investigation. If you missed any of that, I don't think there does. I think you cracked the case earlier. I think we all know what happened.

Yeah. The Ravens over the weekend traded two first round picks to the Raiders for Max Crosby. Tom Brady allegedly said over my dead body, when I trade Max Crosby to Mike Rable, put that to the side for a moment. Then you get to free agency. No real offers on trade Hendrix and his price tag drops and drops and drops and drops. The Ravens wind up backing out of their deal according to the Raiders. Nothing about a failed physical according to the Raiders. That's been subsequent reporting. The Raiders are like, they backed out of the deal. Oh, they're pissed. The Ravens get their two first round picks back and then wake up today and low on the hold. So bad. Side tray Hendrix into $28 million a year, whatever it is, four over one 16 or four one 16, 28 million, whatever it works out to be. And so I think it's pretty clear what happened. They saw Hendrix and his price tag dropped. They're like, wait a minute, we can get him for that and keep our two first round picks. Sorry Raiders, you can take Max Crosby back. We're backing out of the deal. I think it's pretty clear what happened. You'd get thrown out of the Jones and key fantasy league for less. You would. This would be like all of a sudden, you know, a player gets to trade first. No, like a really good player is like on waivers. There was one trade.

They enter. Just one. Phantom for Pat's D. Big swing. Big swing, obviously. Turb should have started Phantom more. Yeah, but this is so outrageous. We're like, if you're another team in the league, you can't make a deal with the Ravens anymore. And they shouldn't get like it is some sort of like penalty for this because that is wild. They make this move. The rest of the league now thinks Max Crosby's off the board. The rest of the league starts making moves, including the Raiders who signed a whole bunch of guys. I don't know how many of them are good, but they signed a bunch of players thinking that the Max Crosby money is off the books. So now they're like, they at least said they're keeping all those guys. They're not going to then, you know, cry poor and get rid of those guys. I don't know what they're going to do. They said they're going to. Let's see. Good point. Cause Florio wrote about that today. He's like, technically they're, they are not beholden to any of these new deals. Just the, it's the shadiest thing that you're going to see because you're like, Oh, wait a minute. Trayhenderson will sign with us. We'll give him that contract and we get our first round picks back. Yeah, let's just do that. It's like, what the hell? So should the Patriots, who could the Patriots offer the Ravens just to back out of the deal?

Who could they offer? I was about to say Drake May, but like, you know, Lamar for Drake. Come on, Gonzo. Hey, you guys want Gonzo? Two first round picks. How about for a second round pick? Yeah. Hey, Gonzo for a second round. Or what do you think? Oh, black. I would do that. We hear them on the phone with like another team trying to make a trade, then being like, can we trust you like at all? Like no way. So yeah, that's, that's bad. It does put Max Crosby, I guess back on the board. We'll see what the Raiders end up doing there. But yeah, Trayhenderson stays in the division, a little rivalry game, allegedly the Cowboys who were the runners up in the Crosby sweepstakes. Yeah. They're out. They moved on to Roshan Gary. Right. So that's the reporting teams have done this. Okay. It's going to be a great one if like 10 years from now because there's going to be a lot of moving parts and like where you could have gone to what player would have gone somewhere else. So the Ravens are obviously out as a destination for Max Crosby. Yeah. The Cowboys are out. It won't be the Ravens. Are the Patriots sneakily in Brady. Brady said he wouldn't try to be here. Are the Patriots kind of in all of a sudden? Oh, they have to be. Yeah. Because I also, there's going to be a lot of, he said he said when it comes to like, was

it his physical? Was it not his physical? Like, what's going on? All right. The price was two first round picks, maybe the price is lower now. Or, you know, this also I think is good news for the Pats if they still want them because pick 31 might not have been as appetizing as pick whatever the one that they were getting. But all right. That one's not on the table anymore. So what else is still available? White that be one of the best pieces that is on the board. They might be saying all the things now like, oh, like maybe we'll keep them with some of the new free agents. They don't want to keep them. Max Crosby doesn't want to play for them. That part hasn't changed. There's no, he's not going to be a race. He's not going to be a race. They like have to say that to get any leverage and salvage whatever they can. There's no chance he's a rater. I agree with you on that. But there's no, I didn't buy the physical thing either from the, from the Gecko guys way more hurts get funneled through trades and they figured out Hendrickson was hurt last year. And they signed him. He passed this physical. Hendrickson didn't, Hendrickson didn't finish the year healthy, correct? No, no. So like, I mean, maybe he's further along in his rehab, but like, Hendrickson was hurt. So like, he's been like, guys, I'm just sitting there.

Well, that's true. He might have just been, you know, done with the Bengals. That was his injury. But yeah, he didn't finish the year healthy a year ago. So no, I think if you're the Patriots, what does it cost to get Max Crosby a first and a third now? I don't even think it costs you a first and a second. I mean, I think the Raiders are kind of boned. Not two ones. You're out on that. No chance. Only one team offered him to first, the first time around. The Cowboys were runners up at first and a second. It doesn't sound like anybody else even offered that one and a three from Max Crosby. I would do that. I mean, I would too. Would you rather the one and the three just to make it easy? Yeah. He call it for Crosby or the one for AJ Brown, one and three for Crosby. So now that it's one and a three, I'm with you. When it was two first round picks for Crosby, I'm like, eh, that's too much one and a three for Crosby. Cause you still don't really have, I'll put up with this receiver room. If I'm adding Max Crosby to the team, right. If it's this receiver room with Dremont Jones as your top edge, Russia, I'm sorry. I need AJ Brown. I'll take Max Crosby. But a first and a third for Crosby, I would rather pay that if that's what the Raiders

are now going to have to accept and it might be over just a first for AJ Brown. But again, you guys can jump in six, one, seven, seven, seven, seven, nine, seven, ninety three. Seven. That's the latest on Max Crosby. Trey Hendrixon, now a ball to Moore Raven, Patriots have Romeo dobs in the wide receiver room. It doesn't feel like they're done there. At least I hope they're not done there. Plus all our thoughts from the first hour on the Celtics and the Bruins. If you missed any of it, Odyssey app, AUD, ACY, get it on your phone. It's free. It's easy. You can take it with you wherever you go. I'm looking over some of the polling Keith. How's it going? In the Jones and Keith March madness, 1990 slash early 2000s heavy metal, new metal grunge, alternative pop punk, butt rock, rock bands, bracket, up now at Jones and Keith, dead heat. And I mean a dead heat between number 11 seed, 311, happy 311 day, by the way, yeah, to you as well. And the number six seeded white stripes, I see, it just shifted, but I saw 50, 50 on the nose right before that last vote just came in. Have a plenty of time to vote there. We'll get you another matchup coming up here later on today as we carry on in the bottom

half of the grab bag region. Next up is Blink 182 and no doubt. Oh, good matchup. Real good matchup. I bet they went on tour together at some point. I'm sure. A warp tour and sounds like a warp tour. That sounds like warp tour. So that's less than a half hour from now. You can vote at Jones and Keith. You can still vote in some of yesterday's matchups, so there are a little one-sided at this point. And then we're on to round two back to Woodstock 99 in the second round tomorrow at Jones and Keith. Billy Lanny with all the latest in trending. When we come back, would you rather Wednesday next? Get more out of every mile when you share the ride to work.
