The Problem of Biblical Interpretation and Authority

Spare No Arrows

About this episode

Send a text

Doesn't God's word have to get filtered through something? It could be us individually, or the culture, the church, a prophet, etc. according to most religions. But while other religions admit having other interpretive authorities above God's Word, Biblical protestantism claims that there's no authority of any kind above God's Word. Is this a contradiction, or can we justify this?
