So I've got a quick favorite ask. It'll take you all of about two minutes. So if you enjoy my show and you feel like you get value from it, I'd be incredibly grateful if you took literally two minutes and left me a five star review on iTunes. You know, my goal in life is to reach as many people as I possibly can and that'll help me do that. It would really mean a lot to me and I read every single one of them. So thank you in advance for that. One other thing, maybe you've heard Warren Buffett's famous quote and that is to be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful. There's been a lot of greed these last few years, but that has completely flipped. Incredible opportunities are here in multi-family real estate and a lot of other people feel the same way. So some are saying it could be the greatest transfer of wealth we've seen in our lifetime. So if you want to learn this business, come to my freaking virtual bootcamp. It's $47. It's two days of training. It's not a big sales pitch. Just text the word bootcamp to 72345 or go to rodsbootcamp.com and I promise you'll be glad you came. Again, text bootcamp to 72345 and I'll see you there. All right, let's get to it.
Today, I want to talk about the power and success that comes from your ability to execute. What am I mean by that? Execute. I'm talking about your ability to make things happen in your business. So you're a leader. You wouldn't be listening to me if you weren't. Now, as a leader, when you lead a team, you really have to have three main responsibilities. You have to create that vision for the organization, you know, for what it is that you plan to accomplish, right? Secondly, you have to have enough conviction and passion around that vision to enroll other people on your team to get behind that vision. But then most importantly, you have to be able to make it happen or execute on that vision. Now, the first two are fairly easy. Coming up with the dream or vision is pretty easy. Ideas are everywhere, but ideas won't make you wealthy. It's the other pieces that will, you know, it's your ability to execute on that vision or dream that's going to bring you success. You know, that ability to execute is what separates amateurs from professionals. You know, Thomas Edison said a vision without execution is delusion, unfortunately. So besides creating the vision or the idea and getting the team behind it, the leader with this team has to
come up with a plan and strategize about that plan. But sadly, many great ideas really never get past that stage because again, the key to all this is the ability to execute. Nothing's more important than that execution and it determines whether or not you and your business are going to take off. You also need to have strategized before you execute. You can't execute without strategy, but that's it for that execution strategy is useless. But again, having that vision and strategy just isn't enough. As I said, the most important piece of success is consistent day-to-day execution. Your ability to take action is the underlying key to your success. So how do you execute effectively? First, you've got to make sure you've set up some very clear priorities. As we've discussed, you've got to get your team behind your vision. It requires you to utilize leverage and then leverage as much as you can to other people. Remember, this business like life is a team sport. Get help. Now, it also requires focus. As you progress, it's important to evaluate what's happening consistently and adjust as needed. Now, you do this by setting up what's called key performance indicators
or KPIs. And those are important metrics of your business that you need to be measuring regularly to hold you and your team accountable for all the different aspects of your business. If it doesn't get measured, it never improves, right? Now, in all the businesses that I currently own and I've owned in the past executions, it's always been the most important piece. And it's also the most challenging piece that I've dealt with. You see, once I've established the target or the outcome and I've got my team behind it and then set up those KPIs to measure the progress, communication comes next. Communication happens to be one of the most important pieces of execution. For example, I'll typically have a daily huddle with my team to make sure we're all on the same page and then we have regular weekly and monthly meetings with very strict agendas to keep us on track. We also have scheduled strategy sessions with the entire team where every possible idea is considered. Now, another important piece as you're executing on your plan is it's important to break down things to their simplest and most easy to understand for a framework. You know, that's what helps minimize confusion and complexity because both of those things are going to slow
down your ability to execute. So remember this, my friend, average people have ideas and dreams, you'll hear all about them, but the truly exceptional success stories in this world have incredible execution. I'm Rod Cleaf wishing you incredible passion and massive success in your business and in your life because of your ability to execute.
