2:08ah, gotta be the Justin Rankin touchdown. He had not been having a game. He blew it open. It was the highlight of the game and it obviously gave them the lead there. Now, I ordinarily read your tweets, but I wasn't in a tweet area available at the time I was watching the game. And so my questions were often you'll give the tone or the tenor of the game by quarter. How did you feel for the first second and third quarters of that game? I thought the first quarter was the worst quarter they've played all season. I thought by extension, the first half was the worst half they had played all season. I thought the decision to kick them all in the third quarter was weird. Calgary got the touchdown to make it 25-7 in a lot of respects. I thought it was over. Get ready for the rematch. And I thought the fourth quarter was arguably the best quarter of CFL football. A team has played this year. Issue two, Jay's looked awful and sacramental last night, wasted a start by Dylan Seas. What do you, what do you, why can't this team hit even when it's in a minor league park, Donovan Paulson? Because their roster just isn't that good. I mean, that's the truth. But I mean, what happened last night was was a little bit more depth, it was a little

3:11bit more than that. Like there was bad playing. Yeah, I mean, it was, it was, they shot themselves in the foot yesterday as well as the one issue to really key in on about last night's start. Dylan Seas' average on his fastball is velocity. All season long, he's average 97.6 miles an hour now. You're thinking, damn, that's really good. Last night, he average 94.9. Yeah, that's happened. Kyle Harrison happened to something was off with Mizorowski. Maybe it's just a hit in the wall. Maybe they're, maybe they're hitting the wall. Maybe that's, but usually when you see it drop a couple miles an hour, that's the sign of bad news bears. Yeah. All right, issue three. LeBron is partnering with Polymarket. What are the odds, Josh Fenwick? I guess 100% now this is, this is really like bad. First of all, David Stern is rolling over in his grave right now. As now, Yannis and LeBron have teamed up with betting apps and sites where you can,

Yannis, was he going to be traded or not? Did he request to trade all these things? Things that you could bet on on Calche. Then, of course, Polymarket, where's LeBron going to go? Is he going to go to Miami or Cleveland or Golden State or where could he go? You can bet on all these things. Now, he ended up in Philly, something I did not suspect, but we all sort of circled the drain once it got later. Damning, absolutely damning. David Stern would have them both like evicted from the league. This is what we know though. LeBron will get richer, Polymarket will get richer, and there'll be more people living under bridges. Correct. Okay. All right. I mean, I think they didn't have enough money already. Okay. Issue four, college football controversy when officials put one second back on the clock. Michigan Wolverines won in a Hail Mary, good call or brutal call, Declan Krueger.

5:21Man, I don't have time to do this rapid fire style, but I'm going to try. So the broad, basically how it broke down, and I kind of count this as a Western Michigan win for it's worst, how it broke down was that the stadium clock and the broadcast clock weren't synced. So the Matt commissioner and the Big Ten commissioner both reviewed the footage. There was like, I think it was under half of a second left by 10 seconds. I think it was like 0.4 when the ball was touched via the stadium clock. Obviously, the broadcast clock was at zeroes. That's why they reset it to one feels very cheap. Feels like Western Michigan got cheated. I don't love anything about it. I feel like the integrity of the game was questioned in a lot of ways. But I guess by the letter letter, letter letter of the law, maybe they did the right thing. And what is the excuse for Notre Dame and Oregon? Notre Dame. Okay. Oh, man. Oh, Cal, try and make this quick. I think Boise State and Wisconsin are both better than we thought. Boise State, we knew it was going to be a good G 16. Rust a little bit. I think Oregon did not play well. Notre Dame, they just don't have a running game, but they still blew it open the second half. Okay. Issued the five. What is training camp roster will be

6:27released soon? Could be by now. Who are you most curious about Donovan Paulson? Probably. Devon Levi. He's going to be an interest, especially now with the injury, right? He could take the job. He could absolutely take the job. And he could turn out to be the goalie that he was hoped and assumed to be after what was an amazing collegiate career and amazing world juniors. Devon Levi has all the pedigree that you want in a potential and keyword there as potential. Right. Starting goalie for years to come. But will he become that? I have no idea. All right, 1208. Low down with low tide. Issue six. Expansion is coming named one NHL and one MLB destination, worth consideration. Josh Fenwick. MLB, I'll say Salt Lake. I think Ryan Smith would eat up. It's good job. A team there because he already owns the mammoth, the jazz.

7:28Yeah, the mammoth in the jazz. As the same name of an oiler's hero. This is true. For the NHL, I mean, like, to a place I'd like to put it, I have no idea. A place it's going to go is Atlanta. Again, they're going to try beating the corpse of that dead horse. Okay. This is not a question for anybody specifically. It's a general question. NFL starts this week. It's Wednesday, right? Tomorrow. Right. Yeah. So I want to go around the room and I'll start. And we're going to talk about what we're most looking forward to in the NFL this year. For me, I don't know how express this any other way, but I'm looking forward to the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback leading the team to the Super Bowl and pointing my finger at these two jackal lanterns all year who poo pooed my man because of a flag football game in the offseason. I am, I am calling it now Eagles to win the

8:28Super Bowl. He sucks at flag football. I don't know what you want to hear. He's really bad at flag football. Going to win the Super Bowl. All right. What about you? I am most looking for to fantasy football because spoiler alert, my team stinks. And so I'm going to have to watch the dolphins all year in pain and misery, except Willie franchise is going to save them. So hopes brings eternal. Yeah. Hope springs eternal. And no, I think in all seriousness, obviously I love fantasy football. But I would just suggest that what I'm hoping for and what I think are going to is going to happen is you're going to see one of these big boys that hasn't won a Super Bowl win a Super Bowl this year. Oh, that would be great. I don't know. I'm not going to call my shot and say, Bangle Spayles, who ever chargers or Ravens, but I'm going to say I'm going to say one of the big boys who haven't won a Super Bowl yet will win. Well, the Ravens have won a Super Bowl. Well, no, but with Lamar. Oh, I see what you mean. Okay. That's what I mean by

Well, I'm looking forward to the Bangle season, you know, AC North winners, AFC, division, game winners, championship winners, Super Bowl winner. That's going to be pretty cool. I'm also looking forward to the NFC South battle because I think the Saints are going to win. And I don't think he's going to be particularly close. I think the Saints are going to be awesome this year. So I like that. So I'm very much looking forward to also watching Saints games this year because I've got a lot of stock in the Saints this year. Okay. All right. I didn't realize you had a reason for it, but I like the Saints big deckland. I'm looking for the prospect of the Buffalo bill is getting over the hump. Like they have consistently been the bridesmaid, not the bride in the AFC like haven't even made a Super Bowl couple AFC championship games, lots of losses to the chiefs who aren't that same team anymore. We don't think we'll see how this season plays out. But it's just at some point, it gets time to

10:35get over the hump. And quite bluntly, it's been that way for about three years. Like 2020 was the first AFC championship game they made. It was three kind of, you know, less than stellar playoff exits directly following that. And then another three years. So like at some point, you have to get over the hump. I expect them to to a degree. And that's what I'm looking forward to this year. All right. In the general and genuine tradition of Jeff Skinner and Ramanji Apani, all of the guys who came into this city on July one and then became wild disappointments by Halloween night. Is that too soon? Certainly by Christmas day. That's fair. Who do we think is going to be the major disappointment this season? That's a tough one. I'm going to say Freddie Anderson because he's going to hurt the entire time pretty much. Well, it's off to a good start. Interesting that you think he's going to play a game before Christmas. But well, that's going to be the disappointing part. I guess so.

11:39Boy, I also want to go goalie, but I'm not saying Freddie Anderson. He's a proven product. And he's there for the playoffs. Just a journey by Justin. Oh, really? I thought you might go Tristan, Jerry. I think there's probably a reason he wasn't getting a lot of reps up in Buffalo. And they were running three gold tenders at one time. And they were still losing at one time. Well, I mean, they were winning in the net. Yeah. And so I and we know what problems they have protecting the gold tender basically in this city, even with Mike Babcock will be interested to see like how that hard they play whatever. But Devin Levi, I'm putting on watch. Okay. Uh, Declan Krueger, who's the most disappointing winner by Christmas? Uh, you know what? I was actually going to say Freddie Anderson as well. Literally for the same reason Donovan was, I'm going to go in a different direction though. And I don't like that I'm throwing it out. But I'm going to say Jake Walman. Oh, that's a good one. Actually, I think he is because he's heard a lot. I think Babcock may fade him. That's a good choice. I buy into that one. Yeah. All right. Fraser Mitten contract is the top of the talk of the NHL.

12:43How much was it? Uh, it's just over seven million. Right. Was it seven to five? I think it's something like that times eight million years. Seven years. Right. They can only do seven. Does Matt Savoy sign for more or less than Mitten and when does he sign Declan? Oh, that's a good question. When does he sign? And how much? Oh, I'll say, you can just say over under Mitten, you know, uh, I'll say I'll say over. Okay. And I'm surprised. I surprise myself by saying that, but I'll say over. Okay. All right. I think Josh, I think over seven point two. I think it's going to be close though. Like I think he'll get like seven point four. Dude, seven point four is not what we are. No, yesterday seven point four. How many points did he have last year? Thirty seven. Yeah. Oh, and Fraser Mitten. I read after the All Star. Also had, did you not have thirty seven as well? I'm not sure. I just don't mean a double check. I was laughing at Toronto until today. This is a lot of money.

13:43Is there one redeemable young piece? This is absolutely true. So I think it'll probably end up being an end of season thing. For Fraser had thirty five. Oh, thank you. Uh, I think it'll be end of season because he's coming off an injury. So they're going to want to see what he is. Post injury. Man, all right. I'm talked into it. Right right around seven point two. I've convinced myself in my own brain. Okay. What about you? There's one key difference here. Right. Fraser Mitten. I think we would all call him a centerman. Right. So the center is in my mind. Obviously a little bit more valuable. Damn straight. When they're around the same point total. I guess it just depends on when the oilers want to get this done. If they want to get this done right now, I think it will be less. I think if they wait, it will be more. So depends on when they want to get this done. Sounds like you're trying to sell me a house. But that's the caveat is when do they get this done?

14:45Because hey, you could do this right now. And you would say we know you had two more points in Fraser Mitten. However, he's the centerman. So you're not going to get as much because you're a winner. I have a question. Do you think he makes he would be able to get more money though because he's proven that he can play next to Conor McDavid and Leon Drysato, which is a thing that is eluded a lot of other NHLers. I don't think he would because Fraser Mitten has shown the ability to drive it himself. Okay. 1215 low down with low time. We've got rumors on the way. Declanations coming up at 1240. We've got Sean Bell and Jason Grigger. What's on declinations? Yeah. So as we discussed last week, we're going to be doing the Tuesday trivia, rotating host, if you will. Now, final before we go very quickly, one thing that you happen this weekend that will be memorable for you because it was just good for the soul. For me, I was reading an article about great albums that nobody's ever heard from artists who are known.

15:49And I recommend it to me by this article was Amy Mann who sang voices carry with tools. Who's day? I've just always been in love with their voice. She had an album out a few years ago called Bachelor number two or the last remains of the dodo. I've been listening to it for a couple of days. It's brilliant. I love it. It made my weekend, along with some other things, family and dogs and cats and stuff who are family. So that was mine. What about you? Josh. What I did this weekend that was good for the soul. Yes. Oh, that's a great one. The lady and I we watched like 100 people versus general trivia. They competed for five thousand bucks or something. But it was really fun just like sort of sitting there watching and answering these questions. Did you call them all stupid? Stupid. Oh, yeah, I did. There's a couple times that like nobody could get it and I got it right away. My only problem is that I've watched so much jeopardy in my life. I kept saying what is right or who is and she was like, Hey, you don't have to keep saying that. I'm sorry. It's worked

Now it was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be because of the amount of stupid crap that that guy has said. Right. I was totally perplexed. I was horrible at it because everything is so stupid. And you're just thinking surely there's no way he's this stupid,

What was good for your soul? Yeah, you know, it was nice long weekend. Obviously and had that had that gender reveal and then moved to odd company after like Donovan mentioned some there. I had to leave early so I could go home watch LSU Clemson. But just overall it was it was the week one of college football. Does anybody think that at his on his wedding day, Declan's going to have it like on a Thursday because that's the good day. There's not a lot of sports in the afternoon. Well, he's getting married on like a Saturday afternoon in June, you know, like that because there's no there's not the one of the interrupt Rocky's athletics. Josh knows me so well. There you go. I learned this as a young man when the Montreal expo's sign are traded for Mark Langston giving up Randy Johnson, Brian Holman and Jean Harris, Randy Johnson, all a fame pitcher in his younger portion of his career.

20:01And they interviewed Langston and they said, you're going to sign an extension. He said, well, we'll have to see it. Nada. We'll have to see means no. And undecided means no. Very unlikely, you get them chances are there's a trade. That's my take on it. We'll see if I'm right. The senators have held a media availability during their 2020 six senators charity open. Hosted by James Duffy, by the way, that's some nice, nice, um, classy host for this event. Some clarity on the Drake Batherson contract holdout or contract front, according to Claire Hanna of TSN, Steve Steyos and not providing an update on the details reassured the negotiation between Batherson and the senators are ongoing. He called Batherson an important part of the team and on and on and on. I think that gets done. They have a really good young team. Are they in your opinion, gentlemen, any closer to making not just making the playoffs, but making Toronto feel like they've made multiple mistakes and finishing later in the year in the playoffs than Toronto. Is

21:04Ottawa that team? Are they still one year away? I really like this Ottawa roster. I know they lose Brady Kachak, but I think in all seriousness, I've long since held the opinion that people kind of just look at that last name Kachak, especially regarding only regarding to Brady. And kind of overrate him as a result. He's smart player. He's a good player, but I don't think he's the same player that everybody like, he's an 80 point player tops. That's kind of what he's shown in his career. He reminds me of Derek Sanderson. I'll tell you why. As great as Sanderson was a great two way player, fantastic penalty killer, but he would let his emotions get the better of him. And sometimes Brady Kachak does that and it harms his team. Oh, I completely agree. Brady Kachak, like he's a really, really good player. Don't let don't get me wrong here. He's a really good player, but I have felt he's been overrated for what he is. Like Kyrgyle and points is 83 and he's never gotten above 74 other than that one season. But the sense I really still like this roster.

22:07I think you look down the middle. They have all the spine that you want of Stutzluck, Cousins, Pinto. Like sure, would you like maybe a little bit better depth on the fourth line? Yeah. Well, like you have three really solid lines. I love the anchors on the blue line. I think Jake Sanderson is my pick for most underrated, maybe player in the NHL at this point. I love that guy. They have all the parts of a good team. It's just the problem is that division is loaded. Yeah, it is. Declan, do we see Ottawa passing Toronto at least in terms of having a better playoff run, or is that too close to the sun this early for this team? My initial gut feeling is a little too close to the sun too early. I don't know if either of them are fat, like I think Ottawa, it was legitimate regression losing. I don't think they'll be as good. I know I like Jake Sanderson a lot as well. I think it's just a little too early to tell on all fronts. Josh, the nobody's on the Ottawa train. Are you on the Ottawa train? No, I've been farther off the Ottawa train than everyone

23:09else. I think through the entirety of the summer. All right. So no Ottawa. So I will say this, though, like in respects to a guy like Brady Kachak, where really good player, as I said, but Willie McClend is your Brady Kachak replacement. We presume Tim Stutzler. William McClend is a 50-point player at this point in his career. 53 points. This is total last year. 58 is his career high to this point. Still unbelievably young. He's only 23. That's a breakout player to me, and I wouldn't be shocked to see him hit 70 points. Here's the thing about Kachuk, and I'm going to use math and numbers and analytics,

25:17so everybody can go get coffee. But Shane Pinto last year played 50-point eight percent of his minutes against the leads. Not Kachuk. Mikemario, Claude Jarroux, then Kachuk. He played 35 percent. The senators will be fine. They'll miss Kachuk, and maybe they don't finish the same point total as they did a year ago. But I think that long-term, they'll be better off, because as good as Kachuk is, there are things that he... Remember, Evander Cain, Stanley Cup Final, when very, very fine score before the injury, but he was trying to make himself useful and trying to do too much, and he cost the team. So there you go. Bottom line here is that I think a lot of a long-term will be better off. A couple of things really quickly here. It's already 12-30. The Fraser-Minton deal, we talked about it. It's a seven-year deal through 23-33-34. I like it because they're an old team and they're getting younger. But we've had this a few times, guys. And maybe we

26:19can talk about the contract in Vancouver with Maiam, the contract now with Minton. We did discuss in the first segment the possibility of Cardi Savoy being that guy. I don't know that he will... I think they might be able to sign him for less because he's going to have an injury, you know, somewhat injury-tinged year this season. Having said that, how long before we can find what's reasonable and real? Because right now, I feel like this is a little bit... Like, I feel like if we're a boat, we're capsizing because I don't know what a $5 million player is worth anymore. Well, I think you have to look at it this way, Al. $7 million is the new $5 million. That's the truth. It feels like it. The new four, really. Like, truthfully. I think... So, what you're going to... What you've always had to do in the NHL is if you think you've got a young impact player, you pay off projection. What you think they're going to become. And the Fraser Minton deals no

27:21different. Like, Fraser Minton, you're projecting clearly with this deal. You're projecting them to be your second line center, not this year, but for the next six years after this year. Right. You're projecting him to be a 50-point second line center. That's what $7 million is getting you now. So, if you think that you have a 50-point player, you're going to have to probably pay him $7 million. So, Jason Dickinson's contract isn't overpay now as of now because his third line center. I would view it as pretty much par for the course based on what else everybody else got. I mean, look what everybody else got. Dickinson... Depth players, though, like, for top... Scoring guys are going to get the money. Yes, but if your third line centers are going to get money, and they already got money, they're soft. Look at what some of the other guys got. Oh, I know it's nuts. Even number six defenseman got $4 million. Nobody disrespects Evini DeHernet. Oh, my God. You're after him again. Yeah. But $4.2 million for a third-pairing number six defenseman. He had a great year. He still got healthy scratch by the San Jose Sharks at times. So, then who pays? The fourth line guys are going to make $875.

28:23Yes. All right. That's... I mean, look at the... Look at most of the roster. It's the fourth line guys. The guys who always have always gotten disrespected. They're going to get your league minimum deals. This is the point in the... If this was... We're on the 22nd Tuesday. If this was a country music concert, this would be the point in the show where the singer would come out and do a slow, religious-tinged song that involved talking over music for some time. It's an emotional moment for old low tide because Eagles' defensive end, Brandon Graham, has officially done with his playing career. He retired last off season before electing to return midway through the year. When Brandon Graham was drafted by the Eagles, they hadn't won a Super Bowl. They were... They were also in photo, right? They had endured years and years and years of everybody else on the division. Washington, New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Arizona couldn't win so they moved

29:27from St. Louis to another division. But the Eagles were sort of like, you know, they're good, but they've not won a Super Bowl. And then during Graham's time, and even in all honesty, he was well in those careers before they won the Super Bowl. But he hung around. He hung around forever. And I have a question for you, Declan, because I watched them and I loved them playing. But how did in a world where that position doesn't necessarily have an exceptionally long career? How did he adjust? Did he play last? Did he have fewer reps that was a part-time player? What happened to Graham that he could be effective for that long? No, his snap count never really went down. Obviously, it's a position that rotates. I just think he played the game really smart, but like the bigger one that I don't think he gets nearly enough credit. He took care of himself off the field. You know, like that moves mountains. That goes a long way. And when you play the game with that level intensity and that at that level that he did with those Eagles teams, like it takes a toll and you see you really got to be smart about how you're practicing and how you're taking care of

30:29yourself outside of football, the things you're doing. And he just did all that exceptionally well. And then of course, on top of that, like he was a very, very good player. He wasn't there that long for accident, you know? So I would I can't I have to have Brian Dawkins and Reggie White right at the top of defensive players for the Eagles, but I would put him not far down from there. 42:08roster. So you're going to have to give up something to get rid of him. Alex Coulorn who's not that good anymore. You're going to have to give up something because everybody knows you need to shed money. So you're going to have to give up something to get rid of Coulorn, Criter or Vatrano. Right. And I don't think any of them that good anymore. I think that team's going to miss the playoffs with a bullet. I think you're going to give the mo my prediction for them this year. You want a bold prediction. They're going to give up the most goals against in the NHL. It's and that should get the GM fired because they they did not see it coming. I mean it didn't happen in Edmonton, but it really happened in Anaheim. That defense is pathetic. It's not enough as well. That is easily the worst D group in the NHL. Jackson the calm needs to be Superman. If he doesn't play 30 minutes a night, they are screwed. And if he gets injured, which can happen when you're playing in a lot. 45:15twins recently sold and it wasn't close to anything we've heard out of the NBA or the NFL. They're mad about that and understand we're talking billions of dollars. Nobody can live long enough to spend this money, but that's the way the world is. But here's a point that I heard recently about the NHL and their continued expansion. It's just really pumping up their numbers, right? Well, you mean money? Yes. It's just to pump up their numbers. But once they stop expanding, their numbers, like this is just really inflated their numbers. Has it not? Well, yeah, but they were also slow to they've been very slow through the pandemic to raise the the cap. So I think it was artificially low because of that, but you're right about the expansion. And if they expand, like, are they saying four more teams? Yeah. It's going to be so watered now. So watered now. They're kind of just creating a problem for themselves, at least I view it that way. Eventually, it will somewhat soon. If you're going to pump up four more teams,

46:17but then you just contract all the Canadian teams out of the league and you're good. I'm teasing. Canada is a big Canadian teams are mostly big market NHL teams. Don't kid yourself. Western says I think Florida's a killi seal this year. We'll be goal tending. Not a lot of chatter about how bad Marks from was last year for some reason. Western. I do think that like I think Mike Babcock will improve the safe percentage of the orders goal tending. Now a lot of it depends on how effective they are, how healthy the defense is and how willing. You know, we've got a situation where we all including the players agree that everybody's going to back check. They're going to go down low. The center is going to be the the the extra forward behind the net, you know, helping to dig the puck out all those things and the autos can do it. But can they do it for long periods? Remember late in the year and the regular season last year, they played very well. They won like 11 of 13. They had a goals against average of two, three, three and then they lost it. The autos can get how to play good defense, but they can't hold on to it. And that will be Mike Babcock's chore.

47:21I mentioned this on the low down or on the what's the name of the morning show. Tom Gazola. Thank you. Gazola show this morning. Well, all of these names are flittering about with Gazola this morning. The the the fact is that the autos can play well defensively, but they they they have shown an inability to hold it and and frankly Florida showed them the trap and they were unable to overcome it. And that's a concern because that's a little bit coaching, you know, and it's a little bit maturity. And Babcock should be able to do both of those things along with DJ Smith. But until they do it, then I think you're looking at, you know, a situation that may be less than ideal. Um, Hey, low tide, why don't you give me the half the value of your house increase once you sell it? Well, that's craziness. That's an investment. And I know what you're going to say. So as an NHL franchise, that said, I don't pay my employees anything because I don't have any.

48:21But if if the NHL were to go back and play Gordy Howell, what was you, what he's worth in 1969, it'd be a hell of a lot more than $15,000. Read the book. And then tell me that NHL owners are hard done by you'll never get me to believe that. Not ever. They screwed over generations of hockey players, great hockey players, players who helped build their franchises to what they are today. The original six go to hell. I'll never, ever, ever, ever agree to that. They made money, they piled on more money, and then they did not share it with the players. At least now these owners share it with the players. And it was hard earned. And it didn't happen because of Alan Nicholson. And happened in spite of Alan Nicholson. Read about it. It all happened. All right.
