Ask about 0% financing plus extra discounts for Costco members, wolfgmcbuic.com. It is 5 o'clock somewhere. We play that for Donovan's big country music fan. Obviously not as good as the original song, but uh... Yeah. Keith Pelley says he doesn't foresee a rebuild for the Leafs, because they already have foundational pieces in place by Chris Johnston at the athletic. It's going to go well. And I... Who are they going to sign to turn it around? But here's the problem. Like tell me what their defense, how many things do they have to do on their defense to get better? Three, at least. And there's not three out there, man. And that's assuming that Oliver Ekman-Larson continues to have this type of season next year. Ekman-Larson's been awesome. Yeah. Like they could sign Connor Murphy? Yeah, they could. They could sign up. That's it. Declan Rick Campbell, sign on this coaching analyst.
This is via Elk's Nation. Just seeing this here. Have you heard anything about that? Yeah, signing on as a coaching analyst. He was a special teams coordinator in Ottawa last year. Ryan Dinnwoody comes in as the new head coach. So he's out. Didn't have a great year as the special teams coordinator last year. But yeah, listen, one, two great cops with the Elks is an assistant back in 03 and 05. Head coach of the year. A great cup champion is a head coach. Record isn't the best, but good coach. Good mind for the game. Excited to have mom board. And in the role of these in coaching analysts, I think it's going to be very well for this staff. Well, the bloodlines are good, right? Like his dad was pretty damn good. Rather his legend, people actually people don't forget, but I don't want to bring it up again. I forgot. Um, the auto's lines go like this for tonight. McDavid with Pond Coles and Savoy, Newge, Hyman, Roslavic Dickinson in the middle with Samansky and Captain Henryk with Jones and Lazar. A couple of guys on their way back, including Frederick and Doc. Not quite there could be later in the week.
Echo and Bouchard, Nurse Murphy, Walmond, Emerson, Ingram to start tonight. Jarry gets the next game and then I guess Nashville would be Ingram based on the rotation and what we might see. That Nashville, that Vegas game is huge, but they all are. What are you putting a scale of one to 10? 10 being they're going to win the Pacific. One being not a chance and don't carry. He's not an answer. What do you think the chances of the Everton owners winning the Pacific is? Don't care. Um, damn, wait, no, hold on. I'm not allowed to say that one. I'll give it a seven. The ducks are on a touch of a slide here. I mean, did they play head to head one more time? No, no, that's it. Okay, so the oilers basically have to win and rag all the way down the stretch here. In my opinion. And try not to do the small favor. Try not to do the small favor. The ducks only pick up one point. It's just really quickly back to our opening conversation about the ducks and about how, you know,
are they a threat? Things like if you guys had to guess how many teams in the West have less regulation wins than the ducks. Without looking it up, if you just had to guess. Is it two? Sorry, I already looked it up. I'm on the NHL. No, I don't have to say that. I'm not allowed to guess. I'll say three. It's four. Okay. In the entire Western conference, the sharks, the black hawks, the canucks, and the kings. Like that's, that doesn't exactly scream team. It's a threat to me. You know what I mean? There are three on three merchants. They mug and they're and they're shootout merchants. But they can't even know when the shootout. Like they could ride to the Pacific Division doing that. And that's my question. Can the owners catch them? The owners could catch them. I'll give you a five. I'm somewhere in the middle as they will be where there's catch them or not. But as Josh said, frankly, I don't care. Yeah. I understand that. Yeah, I don't care for different reasons, though. Yeah, I know why you don't care. The 19 or the 2029 Stanley Cup final is coming soon. That's the. Yeah, I know. Hey, listen. Again, if I called my shot correctly on that,
I've been looking up what I'm going to get for my second tattoo. But that will for sure be a tattoo, I guess. I got. Is the airwaves from the first time I say they're the 2029 Stanley Cup champions. So that you're stacking and racking your tattoo future right now. Well, I mean, like, because it would be the most amazing shot called a vault. Like you'd have to that photo of Babe Ruth calling his shot. Mm hmm. Throw it away. I'm going to the loop. And there you go. Five is like the perfect number. But the we don't care meter. Is that like a perfect 9.5? Well, I just want to thank you, gentlemen, for for answering my question. Even with the limitations I gave you. Not a one in it, not even close. I thought we did what we were talking about. We did what we were supposed to. You didn't you sort of did it, but you didn't you did not have your heart in it. You weren't committed to it. You're like, well, I guess if I can't give my answer, just absolute perfection. And that's what I expect from you, you know, good. That's what we bring on the show. That's right. You know, I I don't like your question. So I'm going to answer a different one.
No, hey, we answered your question. But we were just like, hey, you know what? The thing that you took off the table is the actual answer. That's why I took it off the table. I wanted it. But then we all answered it. Yes, we answered your question to the level that we saw fit. Five, seven and five. Correct. Okay. All right. That's more than I thought you'd give it because because they're rolling. Let's be real here. I think it's more like a three that they win the division. Really? Yeah. Because at some point in time, you're going to be in second, you're going to go, okay, they're in second. They're four points behind the docs. Right. But they're in second. But you're going to be solidly in second. You're going to have that button down. And then you might want to give somebody a rest. So I would just suggest that the docs probably do have a little bit easier of a schedule. It's debatable, though, to be honest, it's pretty close in terms of schedules.
They both have some cupcakes in there, but the docs maybe have a smidge easier in terms of scheduling. But I just look at it and say, yeah, I feel like the docs, I don't think they're legit. I think they're just a young team that's not quite there yet. So I feel like they're going to peter out down the stretch here and into the playoffs. I feel like the orders have only just gotten going. No, I feel like those defense pairs have really changed everything. Seven after one, low down with low tide, coming up at 20 after we're going to be talking to Tim Booth from Seattle Times. I have my questions ready. I will tell you that much. Greater Man J says, hey, boys, can Donovan comment on the great flag football debate? Jesus Christ. Wow. We don't need to get into this again. Do we free? Jesus, luckily not in the room right now. So I'm not going to get remodeled. Well, Jesus isn't in the word.
Neither is Declan. And you should be you should be happy for me. Even I wouldn't say that. We didn't say the whole thing. You stopped yourself. So I did stop myself because Declan again would get upset with me if I said the whole thing. And I recognize what I was not happy either. Just so you know, I'm aware. At least actually, I think he's looking down right now and is going, we don't need to revisit this topic of conversation. That's true. You're going to have to answer. Here we go. Ladies and gentlemen, here we go. That's not how we're going to have to answer to either quite frankly. We've got seven minutes and I want to take care of this. We had a conversation not long ago about a flag football game which Jalen Hertz was on the field. Yes. And NFL players were on the field. And these young men over here took the opportunity to say, Declan, do you want to frame the issue again? Yeah. Where you originally. And I'm glad you gave me this opportunity because to your credit, I don't know if I wanted better at the best way possible.
So basically my thing was the NFL players had been campaigning saying, we're going to go to the Olympics to play flag football. We're going to be the ones out there. This is going to be our thing. And the team USA flag football organization or team, whatever it may be, they said, well, hold on. That's not guaranteed. This is our sport. And the NFL players said, no, no, like we're going to go. We play in the NFL. Like this is we're going to be there. And then they go out and play the game. And Team USA wins. They play in a tournament actually. And Team USA wins it. The Team USA flag football team. And so my thing was optically, that looks horrible for these NFL players who have been campaigning to play flag football on the Olympics, presumed it was just going to be handed to them said, hey, yeah, we're in the NFL. This is our thing. They go out there. They lose. They lose this tournament. I think optically, that's a terrible look after actively having campaigning and said we should be gifted this spot. And I said, it doesn't matter. It's not important at all. It doesn't impact the fact that they didn't do it. They probably didn't practice. They probably didn't plan.
And so you can fault them for that. But on the grand scale of things, it's not going to impact. I'm going to shock you and agree with that. No. I think optically, it's terrible. And I think, it is terrible. Like, we don't even have to agree. It just is optically bad. I also just think who cares? So to me, it would be different. Like, I think the... And in seeing some of the highlights and in watching some of that, it just looked like the smaller guys. Because a lot of those flag football guys were kind of small and slight, right? Like, they were skinny guys. They were smaller. They looked really nimble. Maybe if they were some smaller NFL guys going, who I thought were really quick and weren't as easily... I think it's a lot about how you maneuver your body. Yeah. And maybe they're different games. Yes. It just looks like a different sport to me. Right. So maybe when you go into it, you say, hey, listen, the NFL guys didn't win, but they play a different sport. And so... Well, then don't send them to the Olympics. Don't send them to the Olympics. That's fine. But what I'm saying is that when you say
this reflects badly on the NFL or on Hertz or anything like that, did they practice for three weeks, even did they? But I don't think that can't... I don't think that matters. I just don't think they're suited for the sport. That's fine. But they're also like professional football players. They should be able to handle it. They should be able to, yeah. But you just said it, that you're playing professional football in a different way against guys who are physically built differently as an advantage in the game that they're playing. You don't have to hit anybody. So you don't have to be 270 pounds. Yes. Donovan, this was kind of the analogy I used. Yeah. Like I think it would be a bad look if Nathan McKinnon and Connor McDavid and Nikita Kutrov and Zacharynski and Kalmokar and Connor Hellerbuck went and played a ball-hockey tournament against ball-hockey players who did it once a week and lost. Like I think that is a terrible look for the NHL. I agree. Yes. Okay. Yeah. I wholeheartedly agree. It's just... You agree that it's a different game. It is a different game. But it's not like it's... No, but it is a different game. No, but it is a different game in that the players...
The NFL players clearly didn't research this very well. But you said it yourself. Maybe if they had a bunch of DBs in there, they would have played better. This is a different game. I don't see how you can walk away from this. DB hands? No way. I don't see how you can walk away from this and go, my god, this really reflects bad on the NFL. It's a nothing burger. Well, I don't think it reflects badly on the NFL themselves, but I think it reflects poorly on... The guys who are out there. The guys out there. To me, in watching that, I think it was very evident that if you're going to bring NFL players, to me, I think you need to bring guys light. And this is crazy to say. But a guy, you know, like a Josh Downs, where you're really small and I think you can maneuver your body and your nimble and you can... And have no connection. Kind of be shifty. Yeah, and like you're a smaller guy who's maybe five, seven, five, eight, five, nine, and you've got this body contortion level to you.
Like, to me, like if you're going to bring out guys like Jalen Hertz, it's not going to work. And that's fine. Which is a, to me, it's also a bet, like it's a bad look for those guys. Yeah, like let's just break this down. You acted like you were going to go out there and crush them and you just walked out there and embarrassed yourself. The NFL players lost a football game to non-NFL players. Like that's a pretty tough look. A different kind of a game that they did not, I'm sure, prepare for it. But at the same level, it's still football. It's just you have flags on you. We're not comparing apples to lemons right now. Here's the thing. It's, you even said it. You said physically they're different, right? They are. Yeah. So, so for me, this, the NFL players might have misjudged this completely. But if we're doing anything but treating this like a nothingburger, then I don't know what to tell you because it's nothing. But I don't know how you can treat it like a nothingburger when they've actively said we want to go to the Olympics. We want to be there. We want to be in the gold medal. I always think you should. We're the top dogs. I've always think you should send the flag football team. They're the ones who did all the work
and they're the professionals in that part of the game. Absolutely. Valid. But you don't also think the NFL players playing a football event and losing is kind of a bad thing. If they were serious about it, they would have done more. How do we know they were serious about it? They're the ones who said we want to go. We want to go. How do you, why do you just presume they were not trying like, how do you approach a completely different game? It is a completely different game. It's not. It's different. I wouldn't say it's completely different. It's really different would be polo. We've just talked about the size of the players in the flag football game. This isn't completely different. And look, you can say the NFL players didn't research it. And that's a bad word to use because it wouldn't have been a research. But the fact of the matter is the NFL players went, tried, didn't wear nothing. It's not even a ripple. It's nothing. Let the flag football team go. They should have gone anyway. And we'll all learn to move on and not ask NFL players to play flag football against really good flag football players because they won't win. See, I think guys I would take if I was like,
if the NFL players, I think you actually have to have like an active competition and see just take their best guys. Or actually the best that like I think our Jackson would be awesome at that. The flag football team should go because they won. Sure. It's made a complete. I want the best actual guys on my team. Take the flag football. But man, I think that's tailor made for Lamar Jackson. He's shifty and nimble. How many are he big? But how many practices and preseason games do you think he'd need before he could play in a game? Not very many. Watch him run around and he has pressure on him. He'd need like zero, but he's kind of a specific case. There you go. All right. Well, I enjoyed this. I just think it's a take away being wrong again. No, yeah, wrong. I'm now convinced that three of you are trolling me. All right. We're going to take a break on the way. We're talking to Tim Booth from Seattle times about the Kraken and their playoff chances. And it might take a while. Low now with low tide on sports 1440 and YouTube. It's truck month. Check them out at wolfgmcbuick.com 120.
We have declinations coming up in 20 minutes from right now. Looking forward to this conversation for several different reasons. Tim Booth from Seattle Times joins us now. Tim, thanks for joining us. Appreciate it. Yeah, thanks for having me on. So I was going to try to explain the different ways the Seattle Kraken could make the playoffs as a wild card. And then I thought I would ask you, but I didn't want you to hang up. So let's not talk specifics, but there is a way, especially because they have two games in hand on the Nashville predators. There is a way for the Kraken to make this postseason. Yeah, there's a path. I don't know if that's a path that they will actually decide to go down. But there's the math works that they can actually get there. They need a little bit of help. And yes, having two games in hand on Nashville is a big deal right now. Getting a point tonight would be pretty massive, frankly.
If they could get out of Edmonton with a Lisa point, if they could somehow miraculously get two points out of tonight, then I think the math starts to change a little bit more in their favor. But they have a really tough clothing schedule. They have a incredibly tough clothing schedule. And so every little point that they're able to pick up here keeps them in the race a little bit longer. Even if it doesn't seem likely that they're going to be able to catch Nashville or the Kings or whoever ends up claiming that final wild cards thought. The mammoth game, and I hate to use the word mammoth twice in a sense, but it's very large on Thursday as well. So this week really kind of, I think, the game tonight and the game against Utah are going to dictate a lot of how the things look by the weekend for the Kraken, right? Yeah, it's the next five days, really. I mean, you've got the Oilers tonight. You come home where they have not played well. Post-Olympic break, they've been pretty terrible at home post-Olympic break.
Come home for Utah on Thursday night, which is obviously a really significant game. And then you've got Chicago at home on Saturday. And Chicago, it represents one of two maybe breeders that you would consider looking at the schedule, coming down the stretch because right after they play the Black Hawks, they have a back-to-back in Minnesota and Winnipeg. And then they come home for Vegas Calgary and the Kings to close out their home schedule. Oh, and they get a back-to-back in Vegas and Colorado to close out the regular season. So there's not many opportunities. You look at the schedule going forward and go, oh, there's two points right there. Oh, there's two points there. They're going to have to grind every point they get coming down the stretch here. And it still might not even be enough to catch one of those other teams because of how poor they played coming out of the Olympic break. And now having to go into this really difficult stretch of a schedule. At the deadline, one of the players that was sought after in a lot of markets,
including this one, was Bobby McMahon. He ends up going to the crack in for a fourth and a conditional second. And just looking at the numbers, especially the five on five scoring, Bobby McMahon has made a difference there for Seattle since arriving in the last eight games. Absolutely. And he brings a little different element that they've just been lacking in their forward group that he's just fast, like he's really fast. And he's been able to translate that speed on the ice into scoring opportunities and then converting some of those scoring opportunities. And he's just something different that they did not have a monger forward group. They don't have really that blazing guy who can just skate past everybody and create a chance. Berkeley, Katten, maybe it can become that guy eventually, but he is a kid. He's a rookie in his first season. It's tough to expect that kind of impact in your rookie season.
But McMahon's a veteran. He's a B was described as a late bloomer when it came to his professional career and finally getting going and truly getting an opportunity in Toronto. And I think there's, you know, he's kind of created a bit of buzz among fans here about, well, he is a pre-agent, what if we bring him back? What if they can get him back at a viable number? For next year, how does that change maybe some of what they view as some changes that are going to happen to their roster just because of the number of UFA that they have right now? He's coming and made a really strong impression. He played for Lane Lambert when Lane Lambert was an assistant last year with the Leafs. Obviously knew what kind of what they were getting and now he's stepped in and really been impactful so far for Seattle. So all in all, it was kind of a very quiet trade, kind of like sort of under a little under the radar because it happened right as the deadline
was hitting on on trade day, on trade deadline day. But it's turned out to be a really important trade for Seattle to still linger on the edge of the playoff chase right now. Tim Booth, our guest from Seattle Times on the low down with low tide and sports 1440 radio. There are people in this city to this day who are angry about the Jordan Eberly trade, which happened, you know, like a long time ago, almost a decade ago to the monitors. And when he moved to the Kraken, there was talk of maybe they can sign him as a free agent. Maybe there's a trade to be made. And I know he's had some injury issues since getting there. But this is, I think, year five for Jordan Eberly in Seattle. Having a really good year, I think he leads the team in offense, a really fine player, very slick, very skilled. How important is he to the Kraken efforts? Well, considering how difficult offense is to come for this team, the fact that he's leading
the team with 23 goals this year is pretty significant. I mean, he's obviously the captain. He's their leading goal scorer. He leads the team in points. And he's shown a level of maybe resiliency that I don't know if everyone fully appreciated coming back from the injury that he suffered last year. Like he suffered an incredibly rare pelvic injury that based on what the doctors here in Seattle had said, they've never seen that injury take place in a hockey player. Like that level of impact when he crashed into the boards against Chicago was the kind of impact that leads to an injury typically seen in more contact sports like rugby and football. It was a really major, major injury. And so the fact that he even got back on the ice last year and then to get back this year, and be as productive as he has been at the age that he is. I mean, he's not a young guy anymore. He's 35 to the point where Seattle
was willing right before the deadline to sign him to a extension to keep him here and take away any chance that he becomes a UFA this off season. I think that all that speaks to his general importance to this franchise still being young and still trying to find its way and having at least you know, a captain to center around who not only is a great guy in the dressing room, not only is a veteran leader for the group, but at 35, it's still going out there and producing to the point that he's your leading goal scorer and you're and leads your team at points. You probably don't want that in a truly successful team to have have a guy at 35 leading your team and points with 51 points on the season, but it's for where they are right now and still trying to find who their offense and stars want to be or could be in the future. He's incredibly important to everything they're trying to do. So I have a question about Chandler Stevenson.
I know that his goal share is poor. I also know via Pakai Q, he plays an enormous amount of time against the other team's top 42.9 percent against the team's other team's top opposition, the elite players. It looks to me as though he's being asked to take on some heavy lifting and he's minus 20 and we know that doesn't jive with the rest of the group. Is that a role he's played all year and does the coaching staff feel is though it's an important role by him or is he considered to be a player that has not been able to meet the challenge and it is a big challenge. It's a little bit of both because if you ask the casual fan, they look at his production, they look at the raw numbers, they also look at his contract and they go why? Why is he here? So if you just look at it in that prism, it looks like he's not living up to the contract that he signed a couple of years ago when
he came here as a free agent. But the structure that they have with who they have down the middle as their centers right now, he kind of needs to take on those matchups. He kind of needs to be the guy who goes out there against McDavid or goes out there against McKinnon or name your top center in the league. That's the matchups he's going to take because Maddie Benears is really developed through a pretty nice two-way play for Seattle but he's still kind of young and he's still trying to figure out how to be more successful when he is matched up against those top line centers. So he kind of slots in and all along Benears is always kind of projected to me at least that he's eventually a 2C. If he's your 1C, you're kind of lacking and he's probably more of a 2C and if he's your 2C and he's on that second line, that's a pretty good second line. That goes more to speak to
some of Seattle's roster construction that they're in that position but that's meant that Chandler Stevenson has to take on a lot more of those matchups and so if you look at the raw numbers, it doesn't look good but you look at it a little bit deeper like you pointed out with the amount of time percentage wise that he is matching up against top lines. It kind of maybe justifies or makes sense a little bit more why his numbers are where they are. Shane Wright is interesting to me. There were rumors about him being dealt so I looked into him and this is a little more math too. His goal share is 43% expected goal share 57% that implies some bad luck, bad fortune but it's always felt to me as though and correct me if I'm wrong that maybe he's not fulfilling the role that the team would like him to and he's a young player and so that there has to be patience but he's also a player who's impatient to get to whatever level he's heading for. So is this
a player that you see being long-term a Kraken and if not, is this a player that you think might benefit from a change of scenery? We all prefer things a certain way like Groceries. If you want Groceries just how you like them, you gotta try Instacart. They have a new preference picker that lets you pick how ripe or unripe you want your bananas. Shoppers can see your preferences upfront helping guide their choices because when it comes to Groceries the details matter. Instacart get Groceries just how you like. So anytime you're a top five pick there's going to be an enormous microscope on how you develop and what your base around what your expectations were. He is he's plateaued. I mean without question the season has been a plateau if not a little bit of a dip of a season for Shane and as you point out some of that is bad luck. Some of that is they
kind of shuffled lines to try and figure out how to unlock a little bit more offensive production from him. Some of that is he's struggled a little bit with some of his defensive responsibilities of what Lane Lambert is asking him to do in this in this system. The talks about him being on the trade market before the deadline were it seemed to be very real all the way back to some rumblings in in December and January about a potential a potential move for him. He is the we go back to how Scales Wasters constructed and how they don't have that top line scoring threat they don't you know they were in the talks about Panarin and that never came to fruition. You know there even conversations about maybe Robert Thomas right before the deadline from from St. Louis like that's the that's the guy that they're lacking the guy that they know can go out and get them a goal when they need a goal in a in a pressure clutch situation. The one piece that makes the most sense when you look at the roster right now that could be moved
in the offseason to maybe get that piece issuing right and if you were to package right and one of Seattle's plethora of draft picks together you might be able to put together a pretty good package to to you know wedge someone that fits that need for them out of an established an established team or a more of an established player who's shown through their career that they can put up points and score goals. So whether he needs a change of scenery I don't know it seems to lend that that might be the case but he also remains the most obvious young piece that has some proven NHL experience that Seattle might be able to package together this offseason to do something that really might impact their offense on a on a bigger scale and then obviously with that comes the risk of creating the way it's hop five pick and what he maybe becomes in the future. But if this team feels like it's you know one or two pieces away from actually contending
for a playoffs spot in a season when the West isn't as down as it is he might need to be the piece that's that's parted with in order to get get something in that helps them more. Final question for you one of my favorites when he played here was Adam Larson just a really tough smart shutdown kind of defenseman I know that he's been providing that kind of quality play for the Kraken since getting there a few years ago now. How has how has Larson played? I know he's got a lot of miles of NHL hockey and that can wear down a defenseman. How's he played this year and what's the forecast on Adam Larson? He played pretty well I don't I don't know if he's played probably as well as he had the last couple of years maybe it's a maybe it's a you'd say it's a little bit of a dip of a season but his durability and his consistency is I mean it seems like
it's unmatched you know among defenseman in the league he just played as a thousandth game on this past on this road trip down in Florida he's going to be honored on Thursday night before the game against Utah back home just like you asked for a steady defenseman and he's a steady defenseman and he's been paired with Vince Dunn pretty much from day one of arriving here in Seattle and Vince has a little bit of a tendency to be up and down and so to have someone as steady as Adam paired with him for this long has really made them into a very effective duo on the blue line for Seattle he's quiet he's unassuming he hated all the attention that came with his a thousandth game he'll hate the attention that comes with the ceremony on on Thursday night but he's just as steady as as they come uh that you could ask for from a from a just a professional
but but a guy for a young franchise to come in and and be as consistent as as he has been um there's a chance he's going to play in 82 again this year just I mean everything he's not going to it be flashy he's not going to put up numbers for you but you need someone just to play consistent solid defense for you he's your guy and he's gave very much lived up to that to that in Seattle Tim Booth thank you so much appreciate your time enjoy the game thank you guys appreciate it there you go Tim Booth Seattle times we've got the uh what time is the pregame Josh what time is puck drop you know you have the actual freeze he not in the room oh he's not in the room okay my fault puck drop is seven all right so pregame it's six right we got uh steady talker walker steady talker walker and you get uh donnie the exec no I don't have to I don't have to go back to back uh for shows uh yeah when we get him to the break I got to ask donnie about his team
his baseball team yeah big time offense big time he's got bats to the sky pitching well little dicey yeah didn't you inherit that open though uh I inherited a the best part of my team that I inherited was my pitching uh the hitting was the worst part of your team now because he's playing you should see what is going because I went full offense yeah he did all right on the way declinations low down with low tide on sports 1440 and youtube another beautiful spring day we all love this time of year we also love declinations brought to you by fairway divorce solutions divorce can be different we can help you make the road to a new life easier fairway divorce calm and with that Declan the floor is yours he check ice bath our favorite round table activity we'll get back to home my name is one day shout out Thai Nestler he still emails me in players and clues I do greatly appreciate it yeah well and we will get back to a username but we're doing
heat check ice bath today uh I assume Josh and Don have been are prepared low tide I don't know if you're gonna take a beat here oh yeah no I'm ready to roll I'm ready uh my heat check on March 31st the Tuesday of Holy Week are the NBA referees for finally calling some offensive fouls on that foul baiting guru shake you'll just Alexander game on the line clearest clearest day pushoff on javante green and he's sitting out there shocked like he's a grade 10 theater kid trying to make the senior play like it is unbelievable with this guy gets away with it then when it finally goes back his other way he can't take it on the chin I mean he was out there shamelessly flopping around trying to get out a win over the pistons who didn't have a single star barely at any start as in that game the the NBA reps finally getting a clue the rest of the world finally getting a clue by the way fun stat sga had 25 free throw attempts last night over their last five games when b is 23 free throws yokech has 22 but the NBA refs you are my heat check you're finally catching up
to things now they actually the the pistons did lose the game and over time so that's not a little bit but the NBA refs you're finally getting a right you're finally catching up you are my heat check of the week on my ice bath it's actually myself so quick little story here so I went into the gym yesterday after work just to go for my run whatever and the guy working at the front desk who's like very clearly a manager he stops me and he's like hey man do you want a month of like the black card the upgraded card I'm just on the base plan or whatever and I'm kind of like I know it's cool he's like it only take a second and I'm obviously I'm not really like trying to do this but I want to be polite as well and he's like he's it's only going to be a second I'm like whatever free month of the black card shore so I thought like the way it was pitched to me the way it was described to me you had a little attitude no but the way it was pitched to me the way it was described to me is like hey man you get a free month of the black card if you like it then you can you got got I got got so bad because I got fully upgraded to the black card plan which just happens to come with a
free month I thought it was going to be he's so good free months if you like it can you can sign on it was not that at all it was I got fully upgraded to the plan with a free month I want this guy there should be festival seating when this guy is doing the thing like so but he actually lied to me which is like crazy like I mean unless I he withheld the truth well wait a minute I could know he framed the issue boys so I'm gonna do I think it's a master class so what I think I'm gonna do today is I'm gonna walk into the gym and I'm gonna say hey cancel my membership fully down like I'm gonna cancel it all the way to the nub no membership they can rip up my card or whatever and then once they do that it's actually now and then once they do that I'm gonna say hello I would like to sign up for your cheapest membership like because the way he phrased it he was like here's a free month if you like and I knew I was never gonna up here because I'm not staying there for the tanning beds are you kidding me like I don't need the massage chairs I go there to use the gym and shower and get out like I don't need all these extra amenities so I'm gonna go in cancel the membership and then sign up for the cheap one that I was already on parkland mall 1982
I'm just sitting there in my car waiting for my girlfriend to come out of the whatever it was tasty freeze lady walks up to me and she says hi not every sale happens at the register before AT&T business wireless checking out customers under mobile POS systems took too long basically a steering contest where everyone loses it's crazy what people say during an awkward silence now transactions are done before the silence takes hold that means I can focus on the task at hand and make an extra sale or two sometimes I do miss the bonding time sometimes AT&T business wireless connecting changes everything this is a vacation with chase sapphire reserve the butler who knows your name this is the robe the view the steam from your morning coffee this is the complimentary breakfast on the balcony the beach with no one else on it this is the edit a collection of handpicked luxury hotels you can access with chase sapphire reserve and a five hundred dollar edit credit that gets you closer to

continue to tell you it was a master class themselves we you're on your side we're on his side I was lied to I mentioned the parkland mall McLean's five years you know you know what the simple is to answer this would have been you just standing your ground being like no I don't want to try the black card membership here's the thing I didn't think I was getting the black card period I thought I was getting a month of what is going to happen he said he's like he said he was like you were going to get a month of the black card perks for free the implication was that yeah true I guess but the implication is that then I can upgrade to it if I want this is I do not want to this is oatmeal all over again this is this is I want I want I want a monument to that sales guy in front of in front of the police hire this man you want a monument to fire is driving over to the gym right now to hire this fellow all right yeah all right anyways my my heat check not sports related
uh project Hail Mary last week when we were doing when we were doing heat check ice bath I went that night to go see project Hail Mary with my sister I have no seen it twice it's so good I think I cried harder the second time when I saw it then I did the first time and it is lovely and it is fantastic the music I really enjoy Ryan Gosling this is the that bloody story right uh sure Ryan Gosling is a Canadian treasure and I remember as soon as I walked out of it the first time I I told my sister I don't want to hear anyone say anything bad about Ryan Gosling as an actor ever again because he he was he was acting next to a puppet for two and a half hours well he's a great actor he is fantastic so anyways I I if you haven't seen it go out and see it the movies they're alive and well shout out to Ryan Gosling my ice bath George Kittle and the 49ers injury curse yeah that seems to follow this team everywhere so obviously for those of you who don't know George Kittle is uh
Cody Ponce's brother-in-law and they all went to Toronto last night and for those of you that don't remember George Kittle plays tight end San Francisco 49ers who every week someone suffered a new uh season ending injury because they're right next to uh power plant essentially that is sending bad electrical waves through the ground and killing these people essentially and this is not the first time this has happened I believe George Kittle and Christian McCaffrey were at another sporting event this year I forget what it was this is like this called Nick Kalanas Kalanas yeah they they went and sat court side of the game I can't remember if it was a sun's game or something like that but they're sitting court side of the game and the star player uh suffered an injury and I was like what the hell are these guys on so anyways yes my ice bath is George Kittle and the San Francisco 49ers injuring everything they touch there you go before getting to mine I just want to say after watching Project Hail Mary I watched it
uh by the few days before you did Josh I I walked out I don't think I've ever walked out of a movie and just said give everyone the Oscar before yeah that was my takeaway from that movie I I loved it that much you genuinely probably one of my favorite movies I've ever seen beautiful but on to uh well we'll start with um with my ice bath because uh Josh knows I hate these gentlemen and I think everybody knows I hate these gentlemen Brendan Little and Jeff Hoffman those are my ice baths those two together because the Toronto Blue Jays I mean first and foremost the only two other times that they've started 3-0 it to open a season is they're two world series years and 92 93 and then they start 3-0 obviously in spite of Jeff Hoffman and Brendan Little if you were to look at Brendan Little's current stats right now I know it's early in the season Brendan Little has given up seven earn runs in 1.1 earnings pitched he has a 47.25 ERA 47
Brendan Little obviously gives up the grand slam Brendan Little is a disaster sent him to the moon sent him to Jupiter I don't care get him off that team and then Jeff Hoffman I mean the Jays just need an actual closer that guy is uh the bright lights don't they just they flash too bright for Jeff Hoffman in my opinion he doesn't have the stuff he's not a closer when is Louis Varling getting promoted hopefully uh next week but I I feel like it's going to take a long time for the Jays to get off of Brendan Little like they're going to give him a month or two I feel like to figure it out but to me Brendan Little just DFA I'm now get him out of my side I don't want to see that it's been there's some things you know that that guy's a disaster awful pitcher uh and then for my for my old heat check I am I'm going to go in a bit different of a direction here we are going to go towards the uh the old uh Vancouver sports market because for the first time I think in my
sports career of of watching sports I am actually siding with the Vancouver sports market no and they're hatred for the Conox ownership and their Conox PR staff if you haven't checked Twitter the Conox PR staff is getting eaten alive right now for their handling on Merritt for uh for Mr. Biggs Trevor Biggs if you haven't looked it up I would highly recommend looking it up also just a good laugh if you want to laugh at the Conox ownership and uh and PR staff it's uh truly debacle of monumental proportions and they deserve every bit of hatred that's coming their way right now and I'm just sitting back with the popcorn and watching the Vancouver Conox fans tear that team apart and it's a blast there you go all right very bad for Biggs though very quickly I think we don't have much time uh heat check Matt Savoy the orders needed him to be real and he is and it is a very big deal if you don't believe me check out what's happening in Toronto now there is a
problem when you don't have enough young talent coming up it has to be a value contract has to be able to play with skill Savoy and pod Coleson are all of that ice bath this one hurts baseball's ABS challenge system is brilliant but it arrived after angel Hernandez retired and that is horrible man I that guy that guy would have been checked on every pitch every pitch and some of these cats already are but my goodness wouldn't you have loved to have seen ABS with with angel man angel would have been wrong 50 times again too bad you only get that's not even a joke well no but if you get them right you continue to get infinite amounts you're wrong oh yeah so I'm sorry okay angel her nails trouble he he could imply he'd they have to fire him that day the first day oh my god what about 50 again all right I enjoyed this boys even the flag football talk thanks so much for tuning into the low down Jason Gregor on the way next please enjoy your day
