Iran is responding to President Trump's deadline to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The President threatened a major strike on Iran's power plants if Iran does not comply within 48 hours. A spokesman for Iran's military-born Sunday that if his country's fuel and energy infrastructure is attacked,
Iran will strike the same type of facilities used by America and its allies in the region. The President's ultimatum came as global oil prices continued to soar with the war in the Middle East now entering its fourth week. Oklahoma Senator Mark Wain Mullen is a step closer to becoming the next head of the Department of Homeland Security. The Senate voted 54-37 Sunday to clear the way for a final confirmation vote Monday or Tuesday. Mullen would replace Kristi Nome, who was fired by President Trump earlier this month, then appointed as special envoy for the Shield of America's. A new anti-drug initiative in the Western Hemisphere. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy says TSA wait times will get worse as the partial government shutdown continues. Duffy joined ABCs this week. And as it gets worse, I think that puts pressure on the Congress to come to a resolution. Democrats have to say, you know what, we're not going to defund this. We're going to actually work together and have some common sense reform that the President will work with us on. He also defended President Trump's plan to send ICE agents to airports, saying it makes a lot of sense if they can assist with operations.
Air line passengers have been facing long lines and disruptions as lawmakers debate funding for the Department of Homeland Security. The average price of the gallon of regular in California is now 576 according to AAA and we now have two California counties above $6 a gallon. Humboldt County and Mono County San Francisco and some other Bay Area counties will likely get their Monday. The price of gas and the state has gone up by over a dollar since the start of the war with Iran.
AAA reports that the national average price for a gallon of gases creeping its way to $4 currently sitting at $3.94. A former bus aid for first student bus company is charged with abusing special needs children on Long Island. Sarah Lee Kessler reports. NASA County police say they got disturbing reports about to bone medlock pushing, shoving, slamming, restraining and sitting on students from Grand Avenue School in Union Dale. New research shows cyber criminals are using spyware tools to hack into iPhones. Anyone with an iPhone can now be targeted with invasive malware that steals personal text messages, photos, notes and calendar data. Researchers at Google and I verify and look out uncovered two campaigns exploiting iPhone vulnerabilities. One is described as a sophisticated iPhone hacking toolkit called Corunum that's being operated by a Chinese cyber criminal group.
The second involves an iPhone hacking kit called Darksword that can instantly infect iPhones visiting certain websites man have linked it to a Russian-based hacking group. A man is facing a slew of charges after police say he hijacked a yellow taxi driver at gunpoint in Midtown Manhattan. The New York Post reports the driver told cops he was parked on the street when the armed suspect got in the back seat told them to get out then took off. Charges include Grand Larceny, robbery and fleeing a police officer in a vehicle. I'm Rob Martyr.
