The Pentagon says today's U.S. strikes on Iran will be the most intense with the conflict now in its 11th day. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth says Iran stands alone and they are badly losing. And also said that operations in Iran won't be endless. Two suspects are wanted by Canadian authorities after multiple shots were fired at the U.S. Consulate in Toronto.
It happened early this morning and the Toronto Police Service says they don't yet have a motive. No injuries were reported and police say they have no information about the suspects. Police are on the scene of an active shooter incident in Baltimore. Police say an officer and the suspect have been shot. The officer has been transported to a hospital. There's no further word on the suspect. Several reports another officer was injured during the shooting. Police are advising people to avoid the area. The shooting took place in the area of an orthodox Jewish synagogue. But police are not saying if the incident is connected to that location. The NYPD is investigating a suspicious device located near the home of New York City Mayor Zoran Mamdani. And NYPD Bolton asks New Yorkers to avoid the area near a park. This comes just days after two men allegedly tried to detonate explosives in front of Mamdani's home. Police called an ISIS-inspired terrorism incident. A special election to fill former Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene's seat is happening today. Voters in the states at 14th Congressional District will select their choice on a ballot that includes 22 candidates.
A 50% majority is needed to win the election with a runoff set for April 7th if nobody reaches that mark. Visitors going to Arizona's Glen Canyon National Park are being warned about quick sand. The National Park Service issued the alert for the park located along the Arizona Utah border saying it may be present near the park's shoreline and drainage areas. A statement from the Vatican on Monday said the Pope was praying for the blood shed to end. It's at the pontiff expressed his sorrow for the many innocent people who have died, including children and those who care for them. Those caught up in the conflict so far include a Catholic priest killed in Lebanon on Monday as he rushed to aid parishioners after their home was struck by apparent Israeli tank fire.
The chances of an economic recession arising along with oil prices prediction market bettors are increasingly expecting the US to slide into a recession this year. Calche's market odds of that happening jumped over 34% yesterday. According to the platform, the likelihood of a recession came in under 25% just last week. And speaking of the Chiefs yesterday, they signed the Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III. It's a three year deal worth over $28 million guaranteed, the running back it spent four seasons in Seattle.
