Iran is named Moushtaba, Homanie, the country's new Supreme Leader. Homanie is the son of former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Homanie, who was killed last month after a series of large-scale U.S. and Israeli missile strikes carried out against targets in Iran. He was selected by Iran's assembly of experts and 88-member body of elected senior clerics.

1:03President Trump said Thursday he must be involved in the appointment and that the choice of Moushtaba was unacceptable to him. A majority of registered voters disapprove of President Trump's handling of the situation in Iran. According to an NBC News poll, 54% of the voters are unhappy with the situation compared to 41% who approve. More than half of those polls specifically said the U.S. should not have taken military action. Polsters note the support for the White House is mostly polarized along party lines. A real clear politics average of 11 different polls puts those who disapprove of the conflict in Iran at 49% with those who approve at 43%. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is calling on President Trump to release oil from the strategic petroleum reserve. The New York Democrat urged immediate action to deal with soaring gas prices due to the Middle East conflicts. American families cannot afford to simply wait and hope for the price to come down. The solution is right here at home, Trump. Use the SPR, release it, prices will come down.

2:08Triple A reports the national average is now $3.45 a gallon up from yesterday's 341. California has the highest prices in the nation hovering around 515 a gallon. A fourth grader from Los Angeles is the youngest ever fashion designer to have a show at Paris Fashion Week. Ten year old Max Alexander has his debut show this week. He already has his own design label, employees and millions of social media followers. Alexander became a Guinness World Record holder in 2023 as the youngest runway fashion designer. I'm Rob Martyr. The Obama Presidential Center's grand opening celebrations will start in June. Jim Forbes has more. The news was announced by the Obama Foundation this weekend with the former president saying in a video that quote, hope is getting a permanent home. This is not a monument to the past. It's living destination for people who refuse to accept the status quo. The center, a museum and public gathering space in honor of former president Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama will be dedicated on June 18th.

3:11It opens to the public the following day on June 10th. The celebrations will run through June 21st. I'm Jim Forbes. Tennessee lawmakers are moving to crack down on drinks spiking as reports of suspected cases grow. A bill in the state legislature would make intentionally spiking someone's drink, a felony and require bars and restaurants to offer drug testing strips for customers who think their drink has been tampered with. Supporters say the measure would help victims act quickly and give law enforcement better tools to investigate. It's being called the closest finish ever in Los Angeles marathon history, more from Jason Nathanson in LA. An incredible ending at the LA Marathon. It is a photo finish. American Nathan Martin barely edging out Kenyan Michael Kamau in the broadcast on NBC4 in Los Angeles, Kamau led the entire race until the last step. Martin sprinting to catch him in the last 800 yards. I believe from the start I could win it, but it's one of those things. I just wanted to go out there, test myself, see what happens. Kamau collapsed at the end after losing. It was carried off in a stretcher. We're pulled to be okay.

4:13On the women's side, Kenyan Prisca, Toronto, a 45 year old mother of three finished first. I am only a 45, but I am feeling I'm okay running. Pixar's Hoppers is projected to make between 35 and 40 million in its first weekend.
