In that time, six U.S. service members have been killed. The Iranian Red Crescent Society estimates more than 1,300 Iranians have also died. Iran's president says his country will never surrender. Masab Pzashkin delivered a televised address. His remarks came after President Trump said Iran's only option was unconditional surrender. President Trump warned, today Iran will be hit very hard. 1:00was targeting the area in Iran where a school was struck. Molly Hunter has the latest. The school was built by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps on a compound once home to a military base. But multiple people on the ground, including a former principal tell NBC News, it hadn't been an active military base in more than a decade. Two U.S. officials told NBC News the strike on the school was not by the Israelis. The administration officials acknowledged to lawmakers that the U.S. was operating in that section of Iran. According to Iranian authorities, around 170 people were killed at the school in the southern Iranian town of Manab. U.S. Central Command has said the investigation into the strike is ongoing. A mother and daughter are dead after driving through a storm in northern Oklahoma. George Siles reports. At least seven suspect the tornadoes roaring across Texas, Kansas and Oklahoma, where one claimed the lies of Jody Owens and her teen daughter Lexi. Their family tells me they were trying to get home when conditions quickly deteriorated. Jody was on the phone warning her other children to take cover.

The conflict in Iran is driving up gas prices. Iris Bitzer has more gas prices in the U.S. are climbing sharply as the conflict with Iran disrupts global oil supplies. The average price for a gallon of gas has jumped to about $3.32 up 34 cents in just a week, according to AAA. Analysts say the surge is tied to rising crude prices linked to the Iran conflict and the temporary shutdown of the Strait of Hormuz. The jump in prices is also creating political pressure in Washington, though President Trump has brushed off concerns, saying prices should fall quickly once the conflict eases. Two companion bills in a Senate and assembly would end standard time opting for indefinite daylight saving time in the garden state. Identical bills were introduced last year, but stalled in committee. Now, even if the bills pass and get signed in the law, they still cannot take effect until Congress gives the OK for states to make daylight saving time permanent. New Jersey would also need Pennsylvania and Maryland to enact similar laws since Delaware already did, and they've been waiting for the other states in a region. Eight Democrats are running for California governor going against party leaders who wanted fewer Democratic candidates on the ballots. They worry that so many Democrats could split the vote, letting two Republicans advance to the general election. Experts say this would guarantee a conservative governor for the Golden State, even though Democrats are the majority. The 2026 Los Angeles marathon is Sunday. Daniel Martindale has a preview.
