President Trump says the U.S. will hit Iran very hard today. Speaking earlier from Daryl Florida at a Latin American leader summit, Trump said the strikes on Iran had to be done. They would have had a nuclear weapon, you know, a crazy, and they would have used it so we did the world a favor.

1:00Trump again said Iran was close to obtaining nuclear weapons. He said his administration is trying to keep casualties to a minimum. The bodies of six American soldiers killed during Operation Epic Fury arrived back in the U.S. today. President Trump and other senior officials took part in the dignified transfer at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware. The six Army-reserved soldiers died in an attack in Kuwait on Sunday, the day after the U.S. and Israel launched strikes on Iran. The president spoke before departing Florida. Very sad situation. To greet the families of the heroes coming home from Iran, coming home in a different manner than they thought they'd be coming home. But they're great heroes in our country. All six service members were based in Des Moines, Iowa. Millions are under threat from severe weather again today after an outbreak of tornadoes turned deadly in Michigan and Oklahoma. Another roundup potentially severe thunderstorms is expected to continue across the central U.S. from today into next week.

2:01That system brings with it chances of large hail, damaging winds, and even a few more twisters. New research show shoppers are changing their habits due to inflation and tariffs. In a study by Simon Kutcher, only about one-third of those taking parts said they understood the impacts of tariffs. The study found most consumers were concerned, though, about rising prices. Another survey by the Kerney Institute found more than half of those taking parts said they are dining out less, while 44 percent are buying fewer clothes and 37 percent are substituting for cheaper brands. Women also consistently said in the report that they felt the price squeeze more acutely than men. I'm Lisa Carton. Democratic leaders paid their respects to the late civil rights activist Reverend Jesse Jackson at his funeral in Chicago. Jim Forbes has more. Former presidents Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and Bill Clinton all delivered remarks at the ceremony. I came to truly love Jesse Jackson, and we had more in common than he thought.

3:02Clinton praised Jackson for his commitment to policy and acknowledged that the two did not always agree, but he said Jackson made him, quote, a better president. I'm Jim Forbes. Thousands of marchers from around the nation are gathered in Selma, Alabama for this weekend, 61st annual bridge crossing Jubilee. The bloody Sunday event marks the day in 1965 when Alabama state troopers attacked peaceful protesters, as they were attempting to cross the Edmund Pettis bridge for the right to vote. This year's celebration will pay special tribute to the Reverend Jesse Jackson, who passed away last month at the age of 84. California has seen its largest spike in gas prices since the start of the conflict in Iran. Here's Jason Nathanson. The cost of a gallon of regular gas up 17 cents in California overnight, according to AAA, the price is now above $5 a gallon to 508. And more than 15 counties in the state crossed the $5 mark overnight. California has seen a more than 40 cents jump in the past week, analysts put most of the blame on the fighting in the Middle East.
