很久以前，释迦牟尼佛在维耶离国度化众生。有一位长者听说后，就来到佛的住处，顶礼佛足并恭请佛去他的家中，接受为期三个月的衣服、饮食、卧具、汤药四事供养。佛祖默许后，就整理好衣服，托着钵器来到长者家中。
