1:01Jacksonville Jaguars fans, welcome in to DoVal daily presented by ginjag.com. I'm Jordan Lugo. Thanks so much for being here Thursday, March 5th. Right now we're talking about the Jaguars and how aggressive they could potentially get during this 2026 off season. I think they should be very aggressive. I've talked about that. I think they should be very aggressive to push towards a super bowl title. The Jacksonville Jaguars have never won a super bowl. They've never been to a super bowl. They have one of the best combinations of management, coaching and some of your top level talent, specifically at the quarterback position, good receiving core, some good pieces around this football team to be a super bowl contender to be a super bowl caliber team. I'm not going to sit here and say right now that the Jaguars are better than any of the top teams in the NFC and let's not pretend that the AFC couldn't be much better next year.

2:02The AFC could be much better in 2026 than it was in 2025. If the Chiefs get their ducks in a row, that's not a team you want to see in the playoffs. If the Ravens get their ducks in a row, that can make them a very difficult out as well. You also have the bills who are not going away. The Broncos still feel like an ascending team. The Patriots, they've got a lot of work to do to re-kind of fortify what they did this past year. AFC could be a lot better. The Jaguars need to be a lot better in 2026 than they were in 2025. Obviously down the stretch, they were about as good as anyone. Couldn't beat the bills. They need to be bold. They need to be aggressive. I believe James Gladstone will pull off something this off season, whether it be via trade, free agency, whatever it is that surprises people, that surprises Jaguars fans, and I think that they will push to get this thing over the line.

3:05I think they're going to do their part, management-wise, and I think they should. Look, James Gladstone has said it, they are never going to shy away from making an aggressive move to boldly push the Jaguars in a better direction. They're never going to shy away from that. Yesterday, the Rams, who of course, the Jaguars are like LA Rams, Southeast, with James Gladstone and Liam Cohen and everybody, and there's just so many connections. The Rams just pulled off another blockbuster deal, traded away another first round pick. Of course, fortunately for them, they have the Falcons first round pick from last trade for James. That's looking back for the Falcons, right? But yeah, so they also have a first round pick, but they just traded away 29, couple date, three picks, a 2027, third round pick, four, Trent McDuffy.

4:13I cannot wait to see Trent McDuffy versus Jackson Smith and Jigba three times next year. Yeah, you're at that right. I think it'll happen three times. That'll be a good matchup. That'll be a very good matchup. So the Rams aggressively pursued another star player, and I do hope that you see a lot of McDuffy in the slot. I mean, that's where he is a superstar outside. He's a good player in the slot. He's a great player. But can the Jaguars once again, you know, they shocked the world last year with Travis Hunter, shocked the world? Can they do it again this year? I think they can. I think they should. Now, you can't just force a trade. It takes two to Tango. It has to be the right move at the right price. All these things have to align, the stars have to align. Like the Jags, they were trying to get Quinn and Williams before the trade deadline. They ended up getting to Kobe Myers, which was huge, but they were also trying to get

Now this off season, again, I think that a trade would be huge.

6:17I think that they should try to execute a trade that can upgrade this football team and give them a superstar at an important position. I think they've got a superstar at quarterback, at least a star, somebody who has the ability to be a superstar. I think at receiver, you feel very good about Jacobi Myers, you feel very good about Parker Washington. You like the potential that Brian Thomas Jr. has and kind of what he showed down the stretch a little bit last year? I don't think making a move for an offensive lineman would qualify as kind of going all in or making a blockbuster move just because like your two tackles are locked in. So what are you talking about? A center or a guard and so I don't see that being the case. Defensive line. Yeah. Absolutely. I mean, interior defensive line. I think that's where everybody kind of has circled could be edged rush to because you

7:22could look at Trevon Walker playing a lot more on the interior, which I don't think he should be an interior permanent player, but like if you're talking about on pass rushing downs, which guess what? A lot of downs are pass rushing downs, playing him more on the interior, playing him more next to Joshine's Allen. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. So who's it going to be? You know, Max Crosby? Could they potentially make a swing for like a Dexter Lawrence? I don't know. I don't know who it's going to be, but I do think they should be aggressive to go pursue somebody who can raise the star level of their defensive line of their pass rush. That's what I would like to see personally. I'd also be good if I mean, there was a cornerback out there, like, you know, Trent McDuffy, I think he would have made sense for the Jaguars if they needed a nickel. I don't think they do. Obviously Travis Hunter playing outside, but if they wanted to have two lockdown corners,

8:28I think that could make sense. I don't know who would be available, but that could make sense. I don't think you do it for a linebacker. I mean, you've got a linebacker. You could just sign if you wanted to bring back Devon Lloyd. So to me, defensive line, one way or the other, the Jaguars should be very aggressive to pursue defensive line this off season. And again, it might not work out. They tried it with Quinn and Williams. It didn't work out. But if it doesn't work out, I still don't, I don't think that if, if they can't land this big fish via trade or via free agency or whatever it may be, that doesn't mean they can't be aggressive in the draft. That doesn't mean they can't upgrade that defensive front in the draft. I absolutely think they can't. They've outlined that. Like, if you're able to land like a Derek Moore and a Grayson Houghton on the first two picks of the draft for you, 56 and 81 or trade up whatever it may be, I think that that

9:31could dramatically change the outlook for your defensive front. But relying on the draft is always a little bit more risky than relying on, you know, proven superstar talent that it's in the prime. So, you know, like Max Crosby, but the Jags, they have three third round picks. They have a fourth round pick, two fifth round picks, bunch of seventh round picks. To me, I would have no problem if the Jaguars decide that they want to pursue trading their first round pick in 2027. Plus picks this year for a superstar talent. FM picks.
