It's April 29th. I'm Corey with The Story, and this is Entertainment and Celebrity News today, AI-powered and star-driven. The Devilware's Prada 2 dropped in theaters this week, 20 years after the original smash hit. Meryl Streep reprises her icy Miranda Priestly with Anne Hathaway back as Andrea, Stanley Tucci as Nigel, and Emily Blunt as Emily. Director David Frankl and writer Aileen Brosch McKenna return, too, trying to update the Fashion Mag world for today. Runway magazine faces big trouble now, all digital and chasing viral hits instead of glossy trends. A sweatshop scandal hits after a glowing profile, so chair-earth hires Andrea to fix features. Miranda's back-and-charge somehow, but a tech-brow son of herbs, played by BJ. Novak shakes things up, plus Emily's now a de-or-exec with Justin Theroux as her rich boyfriend. Fans love the nostalgia, and seeing these stars together again, especially Streep after five years without a big role.

But the sequel feels like a milder succession in heels, less bite, more Hampton's trips, and Milan jaunts. Mid-life career shifts, just don't pop like the original's newbie assistant versus tyrant boss vibe. Camille's role in from Carl Anthony Towns, Cara Swisher, Kenneth Branagh as Miranda's violin hubby, and Lucy Liu, but the real miss is the edge Miranda. Even has two nicer assistants now, one sharp like old Emily, the other super chipper. No Adrian Grignet return either, and everyone's too polite for that classic devil energy. It's PG-13 for language and suggestions, runs 119 minutes, earns two stars out of four. Solid reunion vibes carry it, but if you're craving Streep's sharpest cuts, the first one's still queen.
