Well Brett Vichy Greedy went out and got one. Chiefs went to the piggy bank and brought it all out today to get something done with Kenneth Walker, the third sign. The MVP of the Super Bowl, another one is now in Kansas City. That's kind of a nice ring to it, right? Multiple MVPs.

1:00We're going to get into it and answer all of your questions. Welcome. This is Argy, your football. That's Dan Harms. I'm Ryan Tracy. Nice to see you, Daniel. We'll start right at the top. I know you guys have questions. Every Super Check gets an answer tonight, so get in there quick and we'll get to them as soon as we can. We'll try to hit all the other topics. Well, I know there's an ongoing on, but your initial reaction, A, what was your likelihood that they would do this, particularly with Walker? I know you like him, but what's your reaction now that they did and you saw the numbers and all the stuff? You know, honestly, I thought that they were going to pass because of the money, but when you look at his contract and Travis CTN's contract, give me Kenneth Walker's all day long. It's really not close for me because he's two years younger. He's 25 years old. It's only a three year deal and the guarantees are mostly up front. That's what this is going to be. You're not going to have to worry so much about a running back who was 20, who was going to be in his 30s, age 30 season at the end of the contract with Travis CTN.

2:03I mean, Kenneth Walker's going to be in his late 20s and the thing about the Seahawks is that up until the end of this past season, there wasn't much trend on the tires. Yes, he's had injuries. That's true. But they used him in Zach Charbonne as a 1a and 1b and Kenneth Walker is going to be the 1a in this backfield. He's going to be, they're going to have somebody else as well to do the same thing. And I like going to like the contract. I don't think this is a bad contract to pay a running back of his caliber. And again, 30 million is guaranteed over three years. Less than $30 million is guaranteed over three years. That's pretty good. If you don't like the contract, I'm not sure what else to tell you. I think this is a very good, you're going to be paying Jeremiah Love in the top 10, a ton of money as well. But the thing, the difference here is that Kenneth Walker has the NFL experience. I'm not saying Jeremiah Love is going to be bad by any stretch, but Kenneth Walker has done it in the league. I think one of the big differentiators here is that while the chiefs probably want to get back to running some outside zone.

3:06Kenneth Walker is probably better between the tackles vision based and he is stretching outside. And if you watch the Seahawks defense offense, which I'm getting into, tons of pitches, like they told him run outside, run outside, run outside. I think he's vision is better than he gets credit for because he was coached to take these outside and really to be an outside based running back, but he has good vision between the tackles and specifically from inside zone from shotgun. That is something that chiefs have struggled with with the running backs for years. You know, that's something that I think Kenneth Walker is going to be bringing some value to in the backfield. I like that and I agree with you. It's, I mean, any money at this position like this is a lot for me, but I agree with you relative to the other deals that went down at this position. I'll take this all day long and it's you nailed what I think is probably the thing that people don't think about enough.

4:06You nailed the most important thing. He's a proven commodity chiefs take no chances on this long as you keep him healthy. You are in business. And I think that's where it came down to because I think that this is what this tells you bigger picture. And I'll share this with folks on lock on cheese tomorrow. I'll just put it out here tonight. I think it shows you that they have a bigger plan. They have expectations that Patrick will be healed enough to play and they have to protect him with that running game. It's more important now because they know that it's going to be iffy the first season, but this is not to be a wasted season. They think they can get back to a championship this year and by doing this that signals it to me that they're willing. The only thing that I'm concerned with and from there is I appreciate you being here. Thanks for smashing the like and I know you have your own shows to be recorded in my buddy. So take it easy and thank you for showing up. The only thing that I disagree with is I think much more set it on on X that they don't have to dedicate themselves to the run.

5:08No, they don't have to. There's nothing, you know, a point of gun in their head. But I do think that this signals that they need to and they are going to at least temporarily until packets back on his feet. I think this is signal that we're putting that much money into an asset like this. And we're going to use it. We're going to rely on it more than we have because we feel that we need you to protect Patrick. Well, that and I think that they have Eric be enemy back with the Marco Murray for a reason. Like this was not a we're going to just put the band back together and do the exact same thing we've always done. No, like I think that this is they don't make this signing if Matt naggy is the offense coordinator. I guarantee you they don't make this signing if he is the offensive coordinator because he doesn't have the run game install to really make this work. Eric be enemy is going to bring a better run game. Okay, that's one thing I can I can almost guarantee you right now from under center from shotgun. It's going to be more creative. And when you can be more creative in the in the run game specifically and you're not just using the run to throw the ball. If you're using the run to run the damn ball like Eric being is going to do, then you can actually be successful with it.

6:13And that is one thing that we haven't really seen. It's been more of a yellow run the ball just because we kind of have to to keep defenses. Court on quote honest, but this is not signaling that to me Eric be enemy wants to run the ball. He's going to bring some of what he knows along with what he some a little bit of what he learned with Ben Johnson last year and they want this to work. I think that's the biggest thing is we have seen changes in the philosophy for Kansas City Andy Reed fired half of his offensive coaching staff. They just spent big money on a running back. They brought the enemy in but they changed their running back coach to an actual running back someone who played the position and then coached it in college. Changes are happening because they were just getting by with being smarter than everybody else. And then everyone's like you know what screw you guys we're going to stop you from throwing the party. So this is how you go back and answer that call with the enemy and the run game in a different way to still throw the ball but be effective running it. Yeah, because that shit is over too high cover for cloud six that stuff's gone folks.

7:19That's what this does most more than anything is force them that we're going to crush you with this run. If you choose to stay there because now we have somebody you can take a narrow hole and make it an explosive. That's what they need more than anything. Appreciate you 900 nice to see a minute you nice to see and appreciate you if you guys would hit the like that helps. I will say this too. Mint you got like five times four times his salary here this year. So by getting hurt going like 13 passes. So didn't he get he made like eight million dollars on this contract kill. He's signed with the chiefs for like 1.2 didn't he? I thought it was 1.7 but yeah close enough. You do what? It's like a way of times. Yeah. He's now a competitive historic pick formula for the chiefs next year. Yep. That's great. Yeah, it's nuts and I do think that that is part of the equation that we're all seeing here folks. I've been stacking as we go we have a bunch in there. Yeah. We have some of our mods in here tonight nice to see you call appreciate you.

8:19We're going to get to a mall here and get started. I will say this that Kyris the signing of Tonga makes me happy as well because now the chiefs have a full back. I mean defensive tackle. They can do what they need to do and I think he helps Chris. He's not an ultimate pass rusher. He is a more athletic as stronger Derek naughty at this point. They'll play first and second down. Oh more Norman lot will come in when he's healthy rush the passer. I think this is a commentary down myself on the defensive tackle class, which I've been saying the guys at the top are not that good. Peter Woods is not an all pro like about to be. That's how I feel and I think this kind of rings true that they're seeing it the way I am. How did you read this about Kyris Tonga? I thought that this was going back to their need for ask kickers. How long have we talked about this they need guys that are just going to. Play to throw you to the ground. Chris Tonga plays or cut Kyris Tonga. Sorry plays the way you want a defensive tackle to play a nose hack of a play.

9:21He doesn't give a shit. He is going to eat blocks. He is going to not only make you feel his presence every single down. But he's got better pass rush juice than any defense nose tackle the chiefs have had for years. He's not like a great pass rusher, but he's got way more juice than any of them. And honestly, this should allow the chiefs to let Omar Norman lot lose 20 pounds and go back to playing the way he's supposed to be playing. Because them realizing maybe that wasn't the best idea is also another self-reflecting act. When he comes back from the injury, what the playing way it looks like, what he looks like on the field. But this again, why I've been so happy with what we've seen this off season. Is it feels like that they are really looking. They're really reflecting some of the decisions they made last year. It's no mistake that the first two moves that they make this this off season in the free agency period. Running back and defensive tackle to positions they sorely neglected and we told you they were that they did that.

10:24And it just dismantled their ability to be effective in both positions last year. They had to go get there. Notty and we were seeing as they have a check on cream hunt. Do nothing for them. You neglect positions like that. You have to reflect. And so we're seeing that right now. I'm encouraged by that as well. I think it's great that they're a pair apparently being more self-aware. I think that's what we've been asking for. And if we get that, I think I'm going to be pretty happy with it. Casey, 19. I'm just going to tell you this. We're holding off for now on on the film breakdowns because of exos and exos. I'm going to call you out. If you want to try to take down every time we put film up there. Then hey, we're just not going to keep paying you. And I'm not going to pay the lawyers anymore. So hey, this is what we're going to do. I am going to tell you the TJ Parker is in my top four in this class. And I hope that that makes you happy there. Casey. It makes me happy because I think now this tells me a reaction to this draft. Is that 29 is the spot they have to target for an ad rusher. I even think being could fall to them at nine.

11:26And I say. Take both of my enemy past your first draft fix. Why not? They're putting together the old Georgia of national championship defense out in Las Vegas. So why not get a pair here? Why not? Do what you got to do, right? I don't care. Again, this is what we kind of told you where they were going to do. They're going to fill out positions so they can just take best player available. This is, but this is a good situation for them to be in right now. We'll see how defensive and plays throughout the rest of the free agency. There is going to be a body brought in. But right now, they're in a good position with a true starting defensive tackle next to Chris Jones. And you're running back who was going to be your starter this year. Those are two good spots. Also. Weird. I don't know. I feel like I've been talking about this for a while, but kicking shit on the entire time. They've been sniffing around the right tackle market. Oh, weird. They don't feel very good about the right tackles. Yes. That doesn't mean they're going to draft one at nine. I'm just saying.

12:26But they don't feel very comfortable with you anymore starting right tackle next year. And at the very least, they want to have better back up because I think they want. Isopole to be the left tackle back up. Not at the right. Yeah, I think that's probably right. And we make. We make more out of it that you can just become a swing tackle. It's not that easy. Not everybody can do that. Not everybody can flip from right to guard the left. You know what I mean? So it's a little bit. It depends on the guy. Some guys are just more. The verse to one side or the other. But thank you, Casey. We'll get started. A minute. Thank you for giving away the memberships. That's how you get the deals. And if you get the deals. I don't think it's it's a future thing at this point. Do you think that Bane will go in the draft? Or where do you think Bane will go in the draft? Because we need him. The earliest he will go and the latest he will go. So I'm a little bit more hopeful from what I'm hearing that he falls a little bit. There's not falling out of the first or anything like that. But I do think there's a possibility that he makes it to nine. We'll see. Where do you feel? I think right now because of what the jets have done at defensive end. I feel better about his chances to come down because I feel like they might not take

14:28our bell. Risa too. Like they might not do that. So we might end up seeing a little bit of a fallen defensive end at that point. And I think that there's a good chance that he's around nine. I think he's going to the top 10 though. I really do. I do too. I think it might even be the case. If you were to get past Casey. And they did and they were one of the teams that just took him up work. Because of the arm length threshold. And I think he can play that through that for the most part and for two reasons. Not only does he have heavy hands that he he combats the tackle with. But he's quick enough to keep guys from watching on to him. Especially if he's playing against Malino and practice all day long. He knows he can't let him get a hold of him. Because what's Malino has his hands on you. You're done. I don't care who you are. So I think that is what's going for him. It's a bit more of a stretch. It's a bit more of a risk. But I do think there's a chance. But he won't get out of the top 20. So I think that's your range there. And I think somewhere in the middle is probably the most the most thoughtful. Thanks, Ted. Appreciate you. Appreciate you. How did I fix the depleted defensive back room?

15:29Now that everybody's in LA living it up. I mean, it's pretty straightforward. No Williams is a starting player on this team right now. Christian Folten has to be a starting player on this. Yes, Dan. Take that back because he had it called. Folten is a starter on this team right now. Yeah. Right now the best player to play the nickel in my opinion. Is CRW, but I wanted to play safety unless they get a free safety, which they probably actually should do. Yeah. They think Kevin Knowles can play in there. I'm not so sold on that. I like him, but I'm not sure that he's quick enough out of the transitions. So I think that there's still at least a possibly two cornerbacks coming to this team. Whether in free agency or not. I really liked flat as a free agent. And then he got 15 million a year today. And I was forward. I thought he would get a third, you know, a summer team 10 and 11. Holy cow. I did not see that come. I didn't either. And a lot of Taylor got a big contract as well. 20. So right now we're looking at probably I think Roger McCreary is an option for nickel.

16:33I think he's going to be a lower cost option as well. But the chiefs will be coming away with three defensive backs and free agency on the draft at minimum. They have a need. We know that good thing for them. This is one of the best DB classes I've ever seen. It's just so much talent from safety to corner. First round day two into day three styles, you know, long guys. You've got tons of nickels. You have big safeties. There's a legitimately tons and tons and tons of players at DB in this class. So that's how you fix it. You do identify that this is a really good class. And you say, thank you for your service. Jalen Watson. You're going to count against the compact formula next year. Trent McDuffy. Thank you for all the picks from the trade. We appreciate you guys a service in Kansas City. And we are going to retool. Broncox is going to be a starter for the Cincinnati Bengals. I don't like see anybody from Kansas City go to the Bengals, but he's going to start for them. He's going to get you a compact too. I mean, there's there is plenty going on here.

17:34Yes, they're starting to look like Philadelphia a little bit in that. They knew they had to go spend. They have to get some of it back, right? Info. Did you see the ability to save money. Yes, I personally don't like to help them get it to the end, especially if you're outside the home. You know, but I don't really like to be there, I really like to be positive. I kind of like being an extended free banish. In case you particularly sat on our hands again with the obvious need to extend him before Lindervo. I mean, he just got extended a year ago. Last year, right? Like that was during this thing. Yeah. I caused it to extend him just jumped. I'll check it. Just because I don't remember this specific. But I thought he was a three or four-year extension just last year. So no, I I don't think it felt that that was a big mistake I don't either, and you can't project Tyler Lindobom making that much money. He over the amount they overspent on Lindobom was astronomical. He made like, I don't remember the number, it was like 50% more than Creed Humphrey did in a total deal.

18:34And Tyler Lindobom is not a top three center in the NFL. He's not. He's included in the best center, and Tyler Lindobom is a very specific player. He's a smaller guy who can be bullied at the point of attack, but he fits exactly what they want to do. And when you have a center, who's going to be at the apex of your brand new quarterback that you're going to draft number one overall, you have to prioritize that. Yeah. And that makes sense. You need the experience at that point, and that does. So Creed's under contact for three more seasons, 26, 27, 28. Yeah. I'm going to make 18 this year, 21, the two following. I will say this. If they do anything else, they likely have to go to restructure someone. It could be Creed, where they just give them another year at another 20 or something like that. And it's probably happy to take it. This Lindobom is enough out as a outlier that I don't know that it would cause Creed to be like, hey, you owe me 10 million bucks if you want to extend me. I don't see that happening, but we'll see how it pays out.

19:34Ryan, Drake Greenhall, League of Minimum Sign, Veech Rehab Pickup. Maybe the injury thing, he's still not playing consistently, not even last year. So it's a lot of risk. I probably wouldn't take it. I'm with you. I don't think I would have put a flyer on that unless we're getting to the point where he's not being signed anywhere. And it's like League of Minimum. Gotcha. And your opinion is KO down's not the best option at nine, with Coke going. I mean, again, he's the best player on my board, because he's the number one player on the Liberty's report, the draft board. So value speaking in terms of best player, absolutely. I'm telling you guys right now, you're not going to like it, but corner is now coming into play at night. And absolutely yes. And I will say, if your mod McCoy's medical is check out with the chiefs, I would say it's him and not Mansor Delane. I said that a couple of days ago, people lost their minds. And I'm like, okay, I get it. It's a risk. That's what they do with Josh Simmons. And I know nine is not 32, but he's long.

20:38He's a press guy. He's got an attitude problem. I mean, Dave Merritt said it today, come in here, grow, and then you can go. And then they're going to do it again. And they're going to do it again. And who better than to get somebody with some edge like that? I still think they're going to take a corner there, but it's definitely in play. Like people want to put their head in the dirt. It's definitely on play, guys. And if the medicals are questioned, he might be there at 29. That's fair. Could be another Josh Simmons things. One of the odds that D isn't a reach and available at 29. In my opinion, Zion shouldn't be a first rounder, but he may solely be because of scarcity. I think that's he's he's on the edge there for me. I think he's see the five or six. I have Parker and Messador above him. And then I think it's him. And then I think it's Derek Moore on my board right now. And I'm almost done, folks. That's going to get released for you. See my rankings. And like Dan said, he only has bleached your report right now when he puts his full board together. You'll see all that before the draft.

21:39Like we always do. That'll be ready. I agree. I have Zion. I think probably in the 30s. If he gets pushed up a little bit, it's a whole hell lot better than it was picking Felix at 31, where I had a 60 grade on him. So I don't I don't think it's too much of a concern for me. How do you feel? I think it just depends on how you feel about the drop off from 29 to 40. Like if you don't care about 29 to 40, but you don't think you're going to get him at 40, take him at 29. Like that part doesn't really bother me. Like if you if you have a top 40 grade on this player and you don't think you're going to get him at 40, you take him at 29 and you're fine. But again, if you have to talk yourself into taking him at 29, just wait till 40. Yeah. Yeah. If it's that much of a push. Jay chief. Yep. We're with you. Jeremy asked about the new coaches. How much do they have influence here? And they definitely do have some. I think what we've learned the last few years, especially on the defensive side,

22:42is that beach listens to spags and gets guy spags lights. And that's why when people are like, oh, you keep saying go this. The change you're going to do this because, but he's not the best player. No, he's not, but he's their type of player. And that's really the difference. Yeah. I think that's what we're seeing, too. Like you said, Dan, did you see the report? Thank you, Tony, that the report about red options. He's comfortable parting with him for pick 29 or 40. No. You know, you don't think he's up to par for that. I was thinking 40, but I don't want Brian Thomas Jr. on this team. No. Okay. I don't. He is not a he's not a separator. He's not. So if you're he's a vertical player. So if you want to just keep bringing in vertical players, don't bring in a guy who's going to end up being more expensive. And plus I also saw that pretty much debunked for the most part of the game. If they're actually serious about trading him, then they are trying too hard to justify drafting Travis Hunter where they did. Just let the man play. Like if you're going through all of that trouble or you just not a scheme fit for you,

23:42that's that's on you for taking the head coaching job and then saying, I don't want this player like that. That's ridiculous. Find a way to utilize him. Yeah. I mean, it's a it's an asset. Make the most of it. Welcome, Perry. Hope you're doing good. Getting crazy here. Okay. Okay, sticks. With first two round picks. Is there anyone you would package a deal up to go get in the top five? RL races the best on my board, because I think he can play two positions for you if you need to. Yeah. I still wouldn't package both to first round picks to go get him though. Is there anyone you'd go after? No. And this draft. There really isn't anybody you should be going. Packaging first two first round picks to go up and get in my opinion. Tony, hypothetically speaking, the chiefs win first. When 12 games next year. They're the two seed. What went right for the team? What had to happen to get there? Good question. What do you think? I mean.

24:42The two seed. What went right is the bets that they made on the running back and the coaching staff. I think that that's exactly the first thing where we start. I think what has to happen to get there is that any read news to continue this self reflective movement is recognizing that. Running the ball is not just a means to an end to throw the football. Running play action is not just a means to an end to throw the football. All of this has to matter. All of it has to mean something and running the football is coming back into vogue. Not just because it's more successful, but because it's important. You have to be able to run the ball. You have to be able to enforce your will as an offensive line. It's not just a means to an end. Like hopefully Eric the enemy can help him see that. And get through to him that this just like him and Matt Nagy were just like, this just means to an end means to an end means to an end. It has to matter. You have to mean it. So I think that what ultimately has to happen is he needs to keep this self reflection going.

25:45And we'll see what the options continue to tell us. Yeah. And I hope that that's a possibility. I know it is a tall order to continue to look deep in the mirror when you know you've got issues. Yeah. But that's what has to happen. And in the end, I think they can get that done and that will help them long term. So I'm here for it. I think what will have happened is that Patrick healed up. They were able to protect him early. And they were able to get not just two, but three receivers involved to counter traps. And they were able to attack like they used to by pulling down one of those top safes. That that's my guess is how you would get there. Yeah. I'm with you. Perry, really all surprised about the cost of some of the D line contracts. And where do we go now that obvious targets are gone? Honestly, I think they're there's a couple of interesting guys. But nobody that I'd spend a ton of money on and for you. So they're probably going to be waiting. I think they're going to wait and see what happens with the rest of defense events specifically. They're going to have a body come in. I'm sure. But right now the money being thrown around is too much for them to really play in,

26:46especially with Travis coming back a little bit more than I expected him to come back at. But it is what it is. And no, I don't expect Ray Hendrix into lands here. I know absolutely not. He's not a specs guy. I don't think he's got the juice anymore. I would be willing to take a flyer. I was thinking about a guy just a little bit ago. I don't think he's going to have a big market. I think maybe five, six million. Even a one year would work for him, but I'd probably do two. Um, chase on who just played in New England. I think he's shown a little bit of progression. I think he might be able to work better here. Give him a shot. Why not? I'm out of goods. This is another one. I just. He's a past pressure. He's not like a great run offender, but he's going to watch the pastor. I'm okay with that. Absolutely. Trade twenty nine for Brian Thomas, then go defensively. Drawed. I'm not. I can't. I can't get behind twenty nine forty. I was thinking was a possibility, but it was a stretch. But dad's got a lot of good points. Um, and so you're out completely on him, right?

27:48I just. I will have to go back and rewatch his film to be sure, but the player that. I saw. Last year. The player that I saw when he was coming out. Is a guy who was a vertical for a really, really good vertical threat. Don't get me wrong. A very good one. They manufactured his touches his first year. And that's why you saw, you know, they manufactured him in space, but in terms of pure route running. Like if people are complaining about the chiefs not. Being physical and being able to separate against corners, he. He's a problem. He's not helping like that. That's not what it is. But again, he is a very, very good. Vertical threat. So if you want to change the way things are going, then then fine. But I think it's a steep price to pay for someone that you can probably just draft and be again, it's not that much younger, but you know, yeah, I get it. I'm with you. I don't want to trade assets unless I know. They're going to pan out. And I'm not sure that the jury's out. It's still on the top.

28:49They get. Sorry, just real quick. Josh Williams going to the Titans on until your deal. Oh, shocker. Shocker. Shocker. I'm honestly surprised that there are not more chiefs going to Tennessee. I would go other places first, but it's moved up in the pecking order. Yeah. I'm with you there. It's. This is doing what Brad Feach does. Smooth everything out. So you have more options. Again, they also face the fourth fewest light box, sorry, fourth most light boxes in the NFL that you do because of Patrick Mahomes, which changes the math a little bit. But again, Kenneth Walker is fantastic against light boxes, but everybody knew they were running ball. So he has lots of experience against eight, nine, seven man boxes. They're not so much against six and five. He's going to see a couple of those. He's going to take advantage. He's going to have some fun. He's absolutely going to have some fun with that.
