So we need to go back to the Lord our God our source to encourage us to build us up to

1:02allow us to experience him and hear his words so that we can continue walking in his ways and be faithful in what Christ has to teach us. So that's why we're here today to worship the Lord our God and to guide right into the Word of God so that we may hear what he is saying and be faithful to carry out his mission to plan the seeds of the gospel and to save more souls. Yesterday I was trying to fix this big, big table that was in a conference room and then the table started falling and then I caught it with one hand and then I just held it and then let it have one safe landing. 3:09to go through trial tribulation test of our character as we go through our life and that is life we're going to go to ups and downs ups and downs and during the high moment that's even a test of character how will you react when you are blessed with a heavenly blessings and you are blessed with everything that the world desires blessed with joy and peace how would you react to when you are in the lowest moments of your life would you turn to God or would you like give him praise and rely on him and trust in him because this is something that so many people struggle with and they do not know what to do during the test and we are going to be touching on a test of character of Judas and also Peter Judas and Peter. 4:15are here we can make this quick because I have a meeting stream so March chapter 14 verse 43 to 52 and just as he was speaking Jesus was speaking Judas one of the disciples appeared with him the crowd of people armed with swords and clubs sent by the chief priest the teachers of the law the scribes the elders and now the betrayer who Judas arranged a signal with them he said the one that I kiss is a man arrest him and need him under God and once he goes to Jesus and he said rabbi teacher and he kissed him and then the man quickly seized Jesus and arrest Jesus and then one of those standing right next to Jesus was one of his disciples who revealed Peter to his sword and struck one of the servants of the priest and serving him in the Jewish like religion high priest by the high of the high and the servant have a high

5:23honor of being a high priest and his ears was being cut off and then Jesus said am I leading a rebellion no I'm not that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me every day I am with you in the temple synagogue teaching in the temple court and you did not arrest me but now during the darkest time now you come out with the army armed by the scriptures must be fulfilled the scripture must go on the prophecy of God must go on then everyone the disciples of Jesus deserted him and fled this was after they promised and swore that they were not abandoned Jesus even to death and the young men wearing nothing but linen garment with following Jesus and when they seized him he fled naked leaving his garment behind and this is crazy this shows the following disciples who was a traitor to this his strategy was that he was one of the disciples he was one

6:26of the closest people to Jesus he followed Jesus since the beginning of the ministry when he was 30 years old to 33 years old Jesus for three years he followed Jesus then he betrayed Jesus and led a crowd to Jesus which was a pre-arranged sign because in the Lord's supper God Jesus said you are going to be betrayed me you are going to be turning your back on me and then he had a hypocritical deception that he said as soon as he came out he goes straight to him and said master master and kissed him whereby kissed him and he betrayed Jesus Jesus what he betrayed at the very end Jesus rejected before he was born by the end keepers he was rejected by his hometown he was rejected and then he found his tribe his 12 people disciples that he can mentor and build up and then now one of the 12 stood up and betrayed them have you had a friend that was so close to you stand up and betray you before and that's so painful to feel I cannot imagine being betrayed I cannot imagine

7:33being hurt by the closest person to me I cannot that would be hard-broken and this is exactly what happened to Jesus hey happy Valentine's Day but we will still be the word of God and the word of God must keep going on praise the Lord but he is good now the man who misused their hands on Jesus arrested him they they just came up to him and took him away and say hey you are now under our under our control Jesus because you were pointed out by your disciples that you are guilty and then the disciples who were courageous the disciple one disciple he was courageous but he was mistaken he drew out that one sword and then he sliced and cut off the ear of one of the slaves of the high priest one of the servant but then Jesus he actually healed the man's ear so that

8:33I would know emotion so that there was no additional things that happened during that incident so pretty much like forgiving the sins the mistake of what Peter did and then the Lord showed a striking sense of serenity in the midst of the mass confusion he had a piercing question that pierced the heart of the high priest of the servant of the disciples and he said well you guys come out with swords with straps to take me like I am a thief like I am a criminal you guys come out to take Jesus away like I am doing wrong things you could have done that when I was in the synagogue with you without preaching the word of God you could have done that in the midst of the whole crowd but you did not now you're doing it in the dark and secret man people abuse power in the past in the in the high places right you can see abuse in power in so much places where people who are not rooted in God in Christ they are corrupt

9:37yeah they are prone to doing wrong things and not thinking about other people but Christ he said what did he say he said I will be obedient to the scripture I will be obedient to the mission of God I will be obedient to what God has prophesied and I that Messiah and I am God and because I love you so much that I will lay my life down for you I will humble myself it's not my will but yours be done man you increase and I decrease and I will follow my father's plans and will so that you may be saved in the name of Jesus with a salvation of Christ amen so they arrested him and he did what he did and he gave people the power over him because gave people power over him by arresting him and the disciple who promised to be with him to the very end they forsook him they forsick him they left they ran away with fear and sometimes we can feel

18:09that he caps into the power of God to get the word and to get the it wasn't from human no it was from God and God himself and so that's why we are going to be tested are you going to run away when things get hard are you going to stop believing are you going to stop reject God when things get hard and say this ain't the life I want to live but in reality this is the best life that you can live in reality Jesus is the best friend that you could have in reality God had promised it for you and the covenant for you to fulfill and give you so much in your life this is our Lord and Savior Jesus made a way when there was no way Jesus is the way the truth the life no one comes to the Father except through Jesus himself Jesus was ready in unwavering determination to face whatever

19:09challenges that lies before him he knew he was going to be accused he's going to be whipped he's going to go to extreme pain are for us so in times of crisis we can follow Jesus his example and find strength in the Lord in the Spirit find strength in the name of Jesus to stand resolute and committed to God's will amen because he will never let us down he will give us a strength to present here he will give us the power and the words to say in times that are hard in times of confusion he makes way amen amen so how do we act changing circumstances how do we act do we act just in panic in anxiety in depression do we act like man I give up

20:10or do you react as Jesus did ready standing ground and some of us are not ready for the things that have to come but in the name of Jesus he's able to equip you with a wonderful counselor a friend holy spirit to walk in you to guide you and lead you through these dark times amen he's able to teach you and grow you in so it's going to be a test of character I have fallen fallen rock hard bottom but you know at the bottom Jesus is the rock he's the rock down there and he held me intact and he held me there and then eventually he elevated that rock and elevated me above and beyond I what I can ever imagine and he can do that same thing for you amen praise God so what ways what gets in the way of you responding with Christ like character what gets in the way well there's so many distractions this day and age I might start binge watching I might start playing a game I might start turning to the
