Tesla's Cybercab Robotaxi: Production Begins, Autonomous Push

Tesla kicked off production on its CyberCab Robotaxi this week, straight from Elon Musk's announcement on Friday, April 24th, 20th, 26th. The CEO dropped a promo video on X showing the driverless ride rolling off the factory Florida gigatexes and hitting the streets, no steering wheel, or pedals in sight. Earlier this week, Tesla smashed first quarter profit expectations with $477 million, and they're aiming for volume. Production of both CyberCab and the Tesla Simi later this year. Musk said initial output will start slow, but ramp up fast by years end. Musk plans to roll out unsupervised full-self driving software in about a dozen states by December, taking a cautious approach after early access. Tests kicked off in Austin, Texas last June.
