Terry Naughton Shares John Candy Memories

A long time Disney animator named Terry Notten recently shared warm memories of working with the late John Candy on the 1990 animated film, Rescuers Down Under. On a recent episode of the nostalgia tonight podcast, Notten described Candy as the coolest guy, just like the fun characters he played in movies. He recalled how Candy invited the animation crew to tour his production company called Frostback Productions during filming. When Notten asked Candy to attend the movie premiere, the actor joked that he would bring the beer and he happily posed for a group photo. Candy first gained fame on the Canadian sketch show SCTV and starred in hits like Stripes, Uncle Buck, and Home Alone before passing away at age, 43 in 1994.
