An 18-year-old named Zeyshan Afsal was stabbed to death in the car park of a Smithwick mosque on February 20th. The attack happened just before 9 p.m., as Ramadan prayers wrapped up at Jamia Mazajid on Oldberry Road. A 17-year-old boy has now been charged with his murder. He appeared in Wolverhampton Crown Court last Friday and cannot be named because of his age. The killing took place right outside the mosque grounds, leaving the local Muslim communities shaken during the Holy Month of Ramadan. Zeyshan suffered serious wounds and died at the scene. Prosecutors told the judge that more arrests could come as the investigation continues. Police are still piecing together what led to the fatal stabbing. Authorities expect further updates soon, with the case moving forward in court while detectives follow new leads.
