A 16-year-old boy faces charges after allegedly stabbing another teen during a fight on a bus in Perth's northern suburbs yesterday. The incident happened on Gran Boulevard in June de Loup, where a group of juveniles clashed with the victim, also 16. They all got off the bus before the stab teen collapsed nearby. He's now in critical but stable condition at Royal Perth Hospital, while the detectives charged the suspect with intent to cause Grievous bodily harm. State Minister Don Punch called it an appalling act, stressing the need for safe streets where folks can go out without fear. Newer knife laws kicked in last December, giving police more power to check for hidden weapons and the suspect's due in Perth Children's Court today, as authorities push for community safety.
