The Walton County Sheriff's Office received a report on March 3rd about the incident involving an exceptional student education student. Another school staff member also reported seeing a suspicious encounter between Jones and the student on campus that same day. Jones was immediately placed on administrative leave and removed from the school. Debidies took him into custody at his home nearby Holmes County, and he is set to be extradited back to Walton County. School principal Brianna Levins addressed the community, saying the events have deeply affected everyone, including staff.
