Talladega County Hit by Strong Storms, Home Damaged

0:00From Birmingham, this is your March 16th update. Strong storms swept through Talladega County, Alabama, overnight, knocking down trees and power lines while damaging roads and at least one home. Emergency officials reported issues on several roads, including arm-brest or lane and munford, Glover's Fairy Road in Alpine, and spots in Talladega and Silicaga. Around 3am, a large tree smashed through the roof of a house on Lancaster Street in Talladega, hitting a bedroom where a young girl was, sleeping. Her mother said the girl heard the wind and moved just in time, escaping serious harm as the room was destroyed.
