A 19-year-old man from Edmonton wanted in two Ontario killings has been arrested in Calvary. Isaiah Thomas Badger was taken into custody last Thursday and now faces first-degree murder charges for the deaths of two men earlier this year. Toronto and York police made the announcement on Sunday. The first victim was 37-year-old Shandon Kumar Raja Nanda Kumar, a software engineer from Brampton. He was shot around 3.30 p.m. on February 7 in the parking lot of Woodbine Shopping Center in Atobikoke. Police found him in a car with life-threatening wounds and he later died in hospital. Investigators say Badger acted alone in that attack. Friends remembered Raja Nanda Kumar as kind, helpful, and soft-spoken. He was the third homicide victim in Toronto that year and police believe he was targeted. The news hit his community hard with many shocked by the loss of such a gentle person. The second case involved 65-year-old Sergio Lopez from Richmond Hill.
He was shot multiple times just after 1 p.m. on January 26 outside his carpentry business in Vaughan. Lopez, a respected community member and devoted family man, also died in hospital despite emergency efforts. Meanwhile, another 19-year-old Jacob Wallace from Mississauga faces charges in Lopez's death for allegedly driving the getaway car along with. Arson after police found a burned black SUV nearby. Wallace was arrested on March 5 in Musin the Ontario. Badger also faces an arson charge as the cases move forward in court. From your city, powered by AI, this is Canada News Today.
