This is an unspoiled network podcast. This is unspoiled covering supernatural. Season 5 episode 11. Sam interrupted. In this episode I was led to believe that it was going to be Sam that was interrupted. But both of the boys are interrupted. Caught me off guard. Then they're, boy, they are, I've never seen so much rupting. It's something. It's rupting. Welcome to unspoiled. Carry on my wayward son. There'll be peace when you are done. Lay your weary head to rest. Don't you cry no more. Welcome to the show everyone.

I am Natasha Amrishan. Alright, so this one was alive even though it's not necessarily like a fan favorite because we just said it was going to be alive without really thinking about whether people cared about it or wanted it because it was just an automatic. So here we are. If you're wondering why did they choose this one. I don't know. We did. Just enjoy the treat. It's just a little fun treat. It's fine. It's fine. So this is full of surprises. So by the title, Sam interrupted. Did that give you a clue? Did it be like a mental hospital situation? Definitely. I was not sure what the sitch was going to be. You know, because I was like, is something going to happen where Sam actually like has a breakdown or because why not?

Is it going to be something where people think he's having one but that's not what's happening? So when it starts off with them just saying what exactly is happening and it's only Sam and Dean's rolling his eyes, I really of course was just assuming this is the perfect set up to get Sam in here and Dean will remain on the outside doing some kind of recon or you know. So when Dean chimes in and he's like, he's just been like this, it's not your fault. The apocalypse was going to happen anyway. I was really like, oh, okay, that's not okay. Well, that's both of you in there, huh? Okay. Well, okay. I just really had to reset my mental image of what was about to happen. And honestly, I don't want the boys split up.

So I prefer this, but there was a sense for me of like, there's a very real possibility that you aren't able to get out of there. Yeah, if you're both in there, then like you need like one on the outside and you're like, okay, he's there to bust the other one out when it's time. Right. But if they're both in there, it gets a little biceier. Yeah, which I will say, I'm not mad at it, but we just skip right over them actually getting outside back to their car in a way that is inadequate. Yeah, they're just like, there's no time for that. Nobody, they just got out. Trust me, bro. Yeah, that's about it. And like I said, it's fine, but I really was expecting there to be more pushback on that specifically that they were going to try and just leave. And it would be more difficult than they were expecting. No, which, you know, that's not really the thing that's interesting.

So sure, right? That's fine, right. We've seen them get out of enough situations and use their wiles to, you know, escape from. They're a masculine one. So yeah, it's not like something we necessarily needed to see. We can fill in those blanks of how it went down. Some guys got roughed up, you know, some guys got their heads smashed and their heads put through a fucking window. Right, exactly. A board that. Christ. Yeah. Yeah, so we start off with a lady who is being interviewed by a clinician. Yeah. Yeah, she's having a, in the biz, we don't call it an interview. It's just more of a session session. Okay, I was going to call it an interrogation. She's having a session with like the head psychiatrist. And he is his best side manner.

I don't like it. No, I didn't care for it. Yeah, of course, initially there's a flicker for me of like, is he the one? I just didn't think so somehow. It's both a combo of it being like a little too obvious and there being like a sense of him really being frustrated, which certainly could have been him just play acting, you know, but I just kind of went, no, I don't think so. But that doesn't change the fact that he feels very intimidating. There's like an energy that comes off him that I'm just like, yeah, this is a guy who takes life seriously. Yeah. And I just immediately was like, I don't want to fuck with this dude. I feel like in popular culture, whenever they have moments that are centered around people being in a mental hospital, there's always like a heavy, the doctor's always a heavy. They're very like no nonsense.

They've seen it all. They don't, you know, they're so logical to the point that they don't give any credence to anybody's delusions because they can't because everybody is having delusions and they're just like hearing nonsense all the time. They're really, really rigid. And I don't know if that's become a trope or not, but I feel like he just fits really well to the point where the heavy becomes the bad guy, even though they aren't necessarily even doing any engaging in any bad behavior, but they become the bad guy like a... They're just like the obstacle we have to overcome. Yeah. Yeah. So, he is talking to her about, this was actually really funny because there's a post that goes around sometimes where people are talking about bad exposition in movies and television shows and it'll be like a girl getting water and a guy walks in and

she's like, good morning, brother. How is our mother the alcoholic? And the brother being like, hello sister, she's still drinking after dad left us a year ago. And it's just like the most awkward, you know, and in this scene, he's like, I understand that you're grieving. She was your roommate. What happened was difficult for all of us, you know, she's like, okay, put it up. There's no getting around that we have to do this to what degree so it's fine. But yeah, this woman clearly has seen something, but she's also seeing her son who died in a fire, which apparently is meant to be the impetus of her being committed. Like she lost her shit, which you would. Yeah, that'll do it. That'll do it. And then like, we don't know this at the time, but in hindsight, we know that the race makes people, you know, hallucinate.

So there's a very good chance that she really is like, you know, seeing the dead son is not necessarily a symptom of her already existing fragile mental health, but, you know, the effects of the toxin or whatever from the race. But yeah, he's not just like, there's no such thing as monsters. And you're just like, well, famous last words. Right. Yeah, they build their own hell life supply the Legos. Yeah, the Legos are her son tragically dying horribly. Yeah. And I appreciate that in this conversation, she's like, because he says you're schizophrenic and she's like, I know. And I've seen my son. And I know he's not there. But that's not what this is though. Yeah. And I was like, okay, yeah, she's got the awareness and I trust her.

And I felt like that did seem to bring him up short a little bit, but he doesn't know what to say. What are you going to say? What are you going to say? Fair. So then we cut to the boys with their, what looks like we're trying to commit Sam, but then winds up being both of them. Yeah. There are axles and Eddie Van Halen in this episode. I believe are they? Alan and Alan and Eddie Van Halen. I think they're names. They use. I love that those don't raise any eyebrows, but Dr. Babbar is definitely making him stop. Yeah. I think isn't that an elephant? I was just like, you know, things can have two names. I'm sure there are people out there with less named Bernstein. That doesn't mean that they're cartoon bears. Oh, that's one of those Mandela effect things. Yeah. Bernstein versus Baronstein.

It's a stain, which I just can't accept. I lost my chain. I thought that face. Oh, I'm sorry. Mandela effect. Oh, the. No, that was after we're talking about the Bernstein bears, but the. Oh, the Babbar joke. That's another fledged joke too. Oh, okay. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, so it's it works on the elephant levels as a joke in a into in and of itself, but it's another fledged thing. It works on the elephant level. It's wild. So yeah, they both wind up being involuntarily admitted committed. Is there another word? It's committed if it's involuntary and admitted, I think if it's voluntary. I thought that they're okay.

I could have sworn there was like a third word, but maybe I'm just making that up. And we cut then to the two of them in their comfy robes and they are hanging around in the day room. And it turns out they are here to meet a hunter who specifically got in touch with them because he knows some shit's going on. That is not kosher. And once then to check it out and is not up to the task himself. Yeah, when in the cold open after we watch Susan talk to the head psychiatrist, we didn't watch her be murdered in hers. Well, I really did just skip right over her. She's like she's like in her room, uh, huddle on the bed, not under a blanket, which you rightly pointed out. If you need protection, you should be under a blanket. Yeah. And the vent, the screws on the vent start to, you know, come on done. And there's another patient in the hall that can like hear her screaming and see

her face like in terror. And then, uh, we don't see her kill. But then when the camera comes back to her, she's just on the floor with both her wrist slit. Yeah. And then it, you know, does the opening. So it's another apparent suicide though we all know. Is it? Enjoy big savings with Red Hot deals at Vonson, Albertsons. And it's sort of a weird thing when you find out who it is that like the coming through the ceiling vent thing. It may not be what's really happening like we know this lady is hallucinating

because of what so exactly we're all sort of thinking that this is the mo of the monster. But it very well may be part of the delusion that she's been infected with. It might be the like monster just fucking with her because it enjoys the taste of people who are bonkers. And thus I accept the fact that this like the nurse could just go in there. You know. Yeah. But also if the nurse just goes in there then everybody knows the nurse just was the last person in the room with the lady who died. So that's pretty much giving the game away there. And they don't really the episode doesn't really dig into that too much. No. It happens later but when they're in group and the guy isn't succinct that he saw a monster and the other girl starts chiming in with what it looked like and he's like yourster claws. You're not helping. He says stop helping which I did think was really funny.

No. Stop. Stop helping. Oh that got me. But yeah. So yeah, both mothers are admitted and we meet this very chipper nurse who's escorting them you know into the exam room and she's just very perky. Which is like a dead giveaway right? I don't care for this bitch. I think there was just something about her whole vibe that was very much giving. I am enjoying the shit out of this. It just in me like she's just got a sort of shit eating grin as they say. I've never really understood that expression because eating shit is bad. So if you're smiling like you ate shit I feel like you wouldn't be smiling like I don't get what that phrase even means but it's the thing so I'm gonna say it because you get what that means. But yeah the the whole tone that she takes is just very unsolicable.

Yeah. Like you want the nurse to be kind and compassionate and empathetic and not like crude or you know impatient but you don't want them like you know looking to chop. You don't want them to go that's my job. Yeah that's not a good sign. So and we get like a very thorough as they put it exam for the two of them which I definitely was like maybe she just shoved something up their butt because apparently she was both of the more rectal exam which did surprise me but I suppose that people just smogled stuff in sometimes like they would imprison. I was thinking the same thing like more of a cavity search than a you know exam but you know that's I thought there would be another fresh joke there because that's a very famous bit from the movie where he gets an exam.

Oh really okay yeah it's a famous bit he starts singing Moon River. Oh man that's stupid. Makes me annoyed like a very bad joke that I still laugh at. Oh yeah the boys are in the break room and they finally find Martin who is the person that asked them to come. Yeah Martin is very twitchy. Clearly not okay. Yeah and uh yeah they ask if he got a chance to like look at the bodies and see and he stutters over the words as he's like I don't spend any time around bodies anymore and he's just like but but bodies and uh they say at one point we know what happened in albacurkey I think it's albacurkey. It is and

he says you don't know to half but we don't ever get to find out. No it's never told. Now just something bad enough that he'd never hunt it again afterwards. Yeah. I want to know. Is that just me? No I'm curious too. I want to know. I like this actor too. He shows up a couple of different places like as a character actor and I always enjoy him. If I'm not mistaken he used to have a recurring role on a show in the late 80s, early 90s called the pretender. That was a wild show. I don't know if it holds up. I don't know if anybody in a chat is old enough to remember it but that was a wild show. I want to have enough familiar with. But yeah this uh this guy it's just like you know he's saying that he knows enough to know whether there's something hinky happening.

Yeah. But the problem is there's nobody who has seen anything who isn't also seeing lots of other shit that isn't necessarily there. So it's not like we've got really reliable witnesses and the fact that it's just this amorphous like it's a thing that even it's M.O. like it looks like they committed suicide but is that how they actually died? Like the whole thing is a complete mystery from top to bottom. So we've got to do the entire investigation. Yeah. And uh I it seems so clear to me in this moment that like he is not doing well. So later when they try to involve him I was just like what are you thinking guys? Like they're thinking. They're thinking if we can just snap them out of this he can just you know we're we're regressed right back into Hunter mode. We've got to shake him and let him know how important

it is and you know and he'll snap into it. Yeah it's it's wildly unrealistic and not reading the room appropriately at all. Yeah it's like I'm glad that the show doesn't decide to have him overcome it and and help after all. Like he does help eventually when shit is going really really left because there's kind of you know but I like that initially it's just very much I cannot do that and him walking away and not them like continuing to pressure him. It's just the fact that circumstances get really dire. So like you know it's gonna come for me next is sort of the I was gonna say sometimes but it's really just the text. But yeah I I also kind of like wondered if in the end he was going to leave with them because we were gonna find out that a lot of

what he is dealing with was a result of this poison that she is able to like inject somehow through the skin to make people begin to see things and have these hallucinations and I thought maybe it's going to turn out that like he was doing a lot worse than he would have been otherwise. But it seems like she waits to target different people. It's not like she's going around making everybody a target all the time. It's been like five people in the last couple of months is what he tells the boys. Five people in four months. Yeah so and it sounds like he's been locked up longer than that. Yes and so it's so long enough to notice a significant change and that makes me think that whatever he was in for was like legit. Yeah you know

yeah he decided he needed to be there for you know whatever his reasons are um but so I was kind of glad that he didn't leave with them. I'd like once like I was like I accept that he that is his illness is actually dealing with this trauma. I just wondered if the show was going to do that and have it just be like kind of it would have been too easy but sometimes they like to be too easy and so I was sort of feeling also like I don't want him left there but the threat's gone by then so he can be left there it's okay it's safe now. Well yeah let's hope I think yeah so sorry I'm jumping over to the next scene because we have the boys who get split up and yeah the doctor has dean in the afternoon group separate from Sam

which is because they have a codependent relationship which yeah it is correct it is a correct uh he has made a wise observation. Can't argue with this I really can't and it kind of uh makes you think maybe he doesn't know what he's doing. Uh huh. Yeah this I think is meant to and did cause me to stop and kind of be like okay is he splitting them up because he knows what they are and that's what this is that he doesn't want the boys together because they are hunters and he's aware and he wants them to not be effective. Right um and it it was possible but I just did kind of prefer that he just actually knows what he's talking about and he calls them dangerously codependent. Which I feel like you're editorializing a little here but you know but you're also not

wrong. For for codependent brothers though I really do think they split up a little bit too much so I don't know if I'm just rooting for them to be even more codependent and that's my toxic trait potentially but yeah I definitely had a moment of panic and then when he said that I was like is the fact is the very fact that I am panicking and indication that he is right because that's how it can be in therapy when they start to do a thing or ask a thing and you're just like no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no we're not we're not doing that and then you suddenly realize oh that's why we're doing this because I acted like that in response to it I see. or canelope are 199 each with digital coupon enjoy fresh and delicious savings for every meal hurry in these deals won't last visit vons or Albertsons dot com for more deals and ways to save maybe you've got a point yeah hate those moments I know you know so we get Sam first as he is in a circle with the guy who was across from the woman who's murdered at the beginning of the episode who watched her get killed and screamed for help they utterly ignore her it's pretty awful I this is just this plays into a fear of mine which is the idea that you're like asking for help and nobody believes you that's the thing that I find the creepiest is not just that nobody helps that sucks and there can be a lot of different reasons that they

don't help you that also suck but specifically the fear in me is people are seeing that you are suffering and they do not believe the thing that is happening to you is happening that particular fear is just something that when it comes up in media I have particularly a hard time with because it's just so the terror of that idea of not being believed I think is directly tied into a fear of being misunderstood that I have so there's just this whole like it's part of why I just oververbalize because I just really want to make sure you get what I'm saying and understand you do right you know so this guy you know is trying to say that he actually saw this thing this will be attempting to

help group is starting and the doctors like who wants to start us off and this guy Ted is he's putting his hand up and the doctor is pretending like anybody else literally anybody else want to go this this doctor just long suffering sigh he just reminded me of the beginning of death becomes her have you seen that not in ages but I have seen it there's just a whole bit with a woman who they ask if anybody has anything to say and she raises her hand and they ignore her and find nobody wants to volunteer anything and she finally they have no choice and they're like what is it that you want to talk about and she says the name of like her arch enemy and everybody begins to scream because apparently she's just been saying that name when she is asked what she wants to talk about now for like you know three straight years or something and so there's a part of me though that's like y'all didn't volunteer anything so I do feel right if you didn't want to hear

you should you should have spoke up yeah maybe this is a little bit on you I don't feel like this would have had room to happen if you decided to step up and open up a little bit perhaps but Dean looks at the doctor very intently when he is saying to this guy quite firmly one could say angrily monsters are not real yeah Sam yeah oh okay but it's Sam and Martin in the group yeah and they are giving each other the eye as soon as he starts talking about monsters they're real flight what's this mm-hmm giving you know and then that's when it starts going off the rails because the blonde girl starts piping up about the lobster claws and everything and then yeah doctor leads in and threatens basically Ted like we're not doing this conversation it's not good for group do I need to call the orderlies yeah and that kind of shuts shut some down

I felt bad for a man and the way that the doctor's like or are you going to behave and that kind of language is just so infantilizing and I I understand the need for it in this sort of situation but it also just feels like shit yeah this episode is kind of like triggering for me for a lot of different reasons but you know being hospitalized and not taking seriously being treated you know like you're crazy even if you are a legit you know crazy but being treated that way being like sort of patronized yeah you know it just it's all like like yep you know yeah no good no good so yeah then we leave group oh go ahead I'm sorry there was just a line from one of the Vorkosigan books where somebody is reflecting on how people react to madmen as he's putting it and he says

something like sometimes I think that what people call madness is just somebody dealing with pain in a way that's irritating to them and I was just like oh there it is that's it that sounds about right it's yeah I don't I don't want to see it I don't want to hear it just you know like you're so annoying there's a whole like the phenomenon of like we just lost what's your name Hayden Pannitari and so there were people talking about how you know we prefer a dead mentally ill person to and alive one like once they're gone then we have all the empathy and support and kindness you know towards their memory but when a person is alive and experiencing a crisis whether it is substance abuse or mental condition or whatever those people tend to be kind of unlikable because of their you know their struggles they can be unpleasant to be around they can be you know

and we don't want to deal with that so you know but then once they're gone we're just like oh you know if only they'd reached out well yeah it's anything it's unpleasant it can be disruptive to your life uh so yeah a lot of people just and and again I'm not that cast in judgment because it can be really disruptive to your life oh yeah over your life and sometimes you do have to make tough choices to protect you know your your own life but it's just sort of a cultural you know societal phenomenon the way we treat it you know when they're living versus when they're dead kind of like we treat unborn babies yes you know as being like the most sacred thing and then the kid gets here and we're just like yeah yeah it's um it's the if only they had reached out thing always gets me because like on the one hand they may have and you mean for very good reasons not

really have had time for them like this happens and then there's also they may have but they're insurance didn't cover it they may have but they couldn't not go to work they may have but they were on a wait list and nobody can see them like we just have a system that doesn't reward reaching out for help at all it's true it just penalizes you on a variety of levels and then it's just like why why aren't you doing well how does this happen so weird I mean oh my god it's such a mystery so this group is followed then by Dean getting to chat with a doctor yeah whose name is Erica Cartwright I could not help yelling Cartwright because of that that's just in my brain when I hear that name now from the sign felt episode Cartwright Cartwright Marshall and I were just like

yelling that at each other in the kitchen last night too so I was like very forefront to play pretty very nice nice um and yeah he's all she's like a nice looking young lady so of course Dean is just like oh hello there um and they have what do you think of this conversation because he's like I got some questions for you and she's like that's good because I have something for you too yeah I thought it was surprising how much she was willing to give in exchange that was the thing that kept tripping me up is that retreating this like it's an exchange both of us are treating it that way when normally they they will really insist on focusing on you and point out you continuing to change the subject is like a tactic and they're not going to play along and so the fact that she was

actually answering his questions was what kind of caught me off guard but it was not like it caught me off guard enough to really suspect anything it was just enough for me to be like oh that's surprising okay but that was it you know what do you think about the conversation now that you know that this was all in Dean's mind and these are the questions that he basically was asking himself I don't remember what she asks him very well uh let me go back I was just there so I'm jumping over there too here we go when she sits down this actress too I've never um she looks so familiar but I can't place her somebody says she played Nora Allen on the flash I don't know if that's helpful to you or not not feeling but so the first question she asks she says um where we at I guess questions for you he calls did he does a little Hannibal

much he drinks as well and uh he says around 50 a week yeah yeah he says i got to sleep sometimes so he starts to want to mad seven times that it uh some were in the mid 50s i he doesn't drink that much look maybe he it does feel like he's trying to be shocking right that like he's being flippant um but also and this is uh was at the very beginning of that was it beginning episode maybe it was a little bit later when sam is talking to dean about how he's been behaving since Ellen and Joe and how he's not right and dean is like we got to push all that stuff down that's what we do you know so i appreciate sam just being like you do this every time

just like sir you don't think i know your ammo by now i'd be like come on it's insulting so i think it's possible in the weeks since that happened with the the devil not you know cold not working on devil losing Joe and Ellen i think it's possible that he has not been sleeping as much and that he has been drinking too much because yeah i could see how he was how he copes i can say that yeah if we want to like dig into why he's asking himself these questions it would be because he knows that the way he's coping is not sound or helping so he's interrogating himself about his you know his behavior this is the thing that's so interesting about our own psychology is like that if you if you ask and really like stay open to the answer you know

so when you're fucking up but you've got to make yourself stop and ask and actually listen and we are just really professionally adept at not letting anything in between all of the other things we're so busy with that it's a watertight space and nothing can get in and get you to ask that question yeah you wish your pipes in your house were sealed as well right yeah right up until the moment that it isn't sealed and then that one little pin prick hole turns into an explosion but that's how it happens kids it's either you there's a hole and it just all goes to shit or you get laid low some other way and there is nothing to do but ask yourself that question because the other means of distracting yourself are taken away somehow you know

and i do not i really can't imagine how it must be for the two of them with these deaths to kick like if they're not talking about it what is going on what are you doing then you know like did you not weep or did you manfully in the bathroom and Sam pretended he didn't see and then you came out and just wouldn't talk about it and Sam knows that he can't cry in front of you so that's like an on starter that's how i imagine exactly how it went yeah i guess it's just one single thing or maybe unsustainable this uh this this this sort of the whole thing and Dean says about you know shoving it down and

bearing it and putting it away so that we can do what we have to do is a recipe for disaster yeah it is you cannot live your life that way uh trust me i have tried it does not work uh it will come back and get you um and again what did she say you you know you create the hell i just give you the lego's or whatever you know yeah uh and the visions that Dean is having as opposed to the ones that Sam is having are very different yeah they are you know um which i think is really interesting uh well they are at first i cast later they're more similar because it's just like Sam having everybody blame him for everything which is sort of what Dean is also doing but it just comes sooner and from one person where Sam is like dealing with everybody accusing him

yeah Dean is hallucinating race everywhere yeah like you know a monster that's everywhere that he can't fight that he can't get to um where Sam is envisioning um people that are attacking him um and accusing him and calling him names and all that stuff and then finally Dean's last hallucination with the fake doctor is her herlling all the all the accusations at him that he already feels but hasn't verbalized you know at least with Sam we know that these are things that get him because these are things that like him he's been called you know a freaking monster and that but yeah as far as i just thought it was really interesting their their hells are similar but distinct to each brother yeah yeah the um the the fact that he's seeing

monsters everywhere specifically that is kind of like what is that in comparison to people attacking because it's still kind of like they're not attacking Dean but there's just threat everywhere mm-hmm which and yeah and not attacking is almost worse like yeah and Sam's not seeing monsters attack him he's seeing people yeah attack him you know um yeah interesting um so this conversation you know we we have this back and forth and then we go to Sam and Dean in the hallway talking about any leads that they may have had Dean insisting that they need to get the fuck out of here and then a attractive young woman comes up to him and plants one on him very enthusiastically and uh then walks past and smacks him on the butt and he's like all right

i spoke too soon maybe this place is all right this is also where he says i just got three no that's later now it's right now it's now oh really yeah because he's referring to the conversation with oh because that ends with her being like let's talk about your father right okay yeah yeah okay i don't care when he comes up i didn't care for it either but it but it made me think and this is my god the nineties were weird time guys but there was a time in my life where i was around a certain type of people and uh they were always finding they were like conspiracy people but it was pre-internet and they were always finding like messages and like you know mk ultra they were obsessed with that and the therapist was one of the big ones and it would be like yeah why you can't trust them well you know it's just if you break it down it just it's the rapist that's what it means oh my god yeah yeah i just like that just like oh my god

guys oh yeah there is a funny like one panel cartoon where somebody is painting psycho the rapist on a door and the guy is walking up behind him going i said psychotherapist oh it's funny um but yeah any any any time that we're gonna toss around the r word as just like oh it's a funny because a thing that i didn't like happened i'm never gonna be on board let's just yeah let's not do it let's not do it um so this this trick that kisses him there's a moment later where it's like oh she like maybe somebody infects us with something and oh the kissy girl is what i am assuming but i will be honest i probably should have thought it

was weirder that she kissed him than i did i just really didn't get phased by it and she raised no red flags for me and either way it could do it through saliva i didn't think of her like for a good second or two because just the urge to walk up to him and lay one on him i just understand so profound it was so relatable you're like there's nothing weird about that behavior at all i can't like how am i supposed to fault this woman you know i mean she's just um this close to being being like we're all thinking it you know um but anyway so eventually there does come a point where she walks up to sam and kisses him sam is way less interested than dean is mouth is shut like a steel trap and i did kind of enjoy how like very much he's just

going uh uh no no no and her saying i want him now he's larger i love dean is like assuming she's here for him because he starts telling her no no no no not this time not right now she's like fucking goes right past him and it's what is there a thing there's a look on his face it's just like wait a minute i thought that was my did what we have mean nothing to you enjoy big savings with red hot deals at vans and albertons this week at vans and albertons baby back pork ribs are 299 per pound with membership where applicable limit three racks and ballpark hot dogs or hamburger buns eight count are 299 with digital coupon plus personal seedless water melons or canalope are 199 each with digital coupon enjoy fresh and delicious savings for every meal hurry in these deals won't last visit vans or albertons.com for more deals and ways to save booking a verbo vacation rental means you get verbo care in 24 seven life support verified

and i'm just like oh right he's ripped his hell and like glowing with like a golden tan and just larger yeah and uh you know the thing and i am rachon rachon is into smaller guys but uh but i do i like a strapping lad so yeah the sorry i'm i'm i got in my head there for a second um yeah i was like where did she go so we hear this poor dude yelling for help and they try to get to him and by the time they get there he is hanging from the ceiling now i was like get him down from there because hanging takes a minute and he could very well still be alive but it is revealed that he was killed by other means and then just strung up to make it look like a suicide which really does indicate how poorly done

the autopsies or even just basic medical exams are with these patients how can you say she's slitter risk when there's clearly like an entry wound by her scalp what are you doing? what is the thing though right like when the wound or the mortal entry is so apparent then we don't even look for anything else you know that's like that's just the nature of the business like but this will even really require looking when you're just cleaning up the body i wouldn't like it's in a spot that's like a little hard to see but it's yeah by no means super like it's not like a puncture mark from like a hypodermic needle you could figure whole finger in there yeah it's like they put a q tip in it and like wiggle it around a little bit and it opens up a bit more um but it just it i think to your larger point it just like these are people

that aren't considered aren't they're considered not worthy of a second book all of us okay no yeah they're just sort of uh you know well praise people going to kill themselves what they do right you know um no foul play here no need to you know take a second look at anything which is another reason why this makes like perfect feeding ground like yeah the whole setup is perfect the between having captive victims having victims that won't be believed to have indebted won't be investigated long as you make it look super obvious um yeah well this is when they uh pull out the brain this is i really thought because like they they stick the q tip in there and you all know that i'm already like not on board with that and then sam says well i think we gotta like go in there and look so over at i think

that that looks very much like an actual grinder but uh yeah i believe that's just like a bone saw and um dean waits outside i do think it's interesting how dean doesn't have the stomach for a lot of the like medical parts of things and sam does yeah i'd say i'd say i'm all day long yeah uh i really had hope that we just hear the saw and then go in and he'd just have the brain out and we wouldn't have to do any of the uh no we had to do it we have to do it all we really had to do it haha sam gets all up in there pulls the cat back he he lays it nicely on the table it's just it's it's the way the top of the head comes off it's just so it's like a fucking cow-bunjar full of candy you know

like and the brain is like a piece of charcoal it's like yeah it should explain bro i said fling brooed on the line but i thought i could like i say oh it is crispy it is it has been completely sam says suck dry but i feel like more than that like it's not it's not it's more than just being sucked dry something else is going on here uh because this shit is just like a black flaky crispy like i thought it was going to turn to dust in his hands if he kept holding it too long right yeah it was uh stiff you know which i think is where it looking like it's been charred come because like even if it were drained it would still probably be like the right color and maybe be like gumming whatnot but still a little floppy but it's it's just all wrong yeah it looks

almost like it's completely necrotic like like just you know like that black that happens when you're when you're working just starved of oxygen when you're in all that like yeah it's bad but uh and and dan dan is out there watching and then he alerts that uh somebody is coming so we get this little seed of sam putting the brain back in the head and trying to put the head back and that head closed like it's a jewelry box my god and it's uh it's our nursery walks in and she's just like you know what are you guys doing in here and Dean drops his pants and waves his junk around and yells pudding i really do like there's like a very long pause and for a second i was like if you guys weren't brothers i would be suspicious of sexual activity right

you know but um don't worry we get a sexual activity joke anyway fine oh god the the first thing that his brain goes to being drop trow hot Dean it's very very predictable in a lot of ways but it works it works whatever works and you know this is the nurse that i don't like so she knows perfectly well what they're in here for and i bet is just smirking to herself a lot yeah because at this point she's already got them poisoned so she knows what's coming she just has to bite her time uh huh it really is so insulting leader when she's just like you hunters i'm really not impressed everybody acted like you were something to really worry about yeah yeah not really and even though they wind up getting

the better of her in the end it is such a close thing that i can't help but kind of be like she's she's not right like you know but there but there but there are incapacitated as she's fighting them so you know uh i mean but that's the thing is that she was able to do that to them because as she puts it they're just talking about monster hunting as they come in which makes it very clear to a monster that those are hunters i want to keep i want to i want to i wonder if she's uh it's a funny thing to think about that uh because people can show up with all kinds of delusions and uh there must have been something about her their story specifically that made her feel like huh you know i would like what did they say to give it credence you know yeah and if there was anything about like the

apocalypse maybe that she's hip-2 or you know like or you know or maybe she doesn't at all maybe she just you know she says you guys came in talking about being hunters and that was a dead giveaway but i'm just imagining like people probably come in and say they can do all kinds of things there you know they're hunting vampires and or their aliens coming or they're you know like Anna was in a mental institution because she heard angels and it really does seem like being in an apocalypse is like the news out there so like i accept that she just hears about that and knows about that someone they come in and it's like oh i caused the apocalypse and there's an angel and there's there's you know yeah that what they're saying is just so specific that she's like oh okay she already knows about martin 2 so it's also possible she's just observing him and she sees that he calls for help

but yeah i think i think the uh talk like because everybody seems to know about the all the people that are hip know about the apocalypse and a lot of people demons and other you know know who starved it so if there was any doubt she'd be like oh okay these are the boys um this checks out two boys around that age yeah this checks out oh boys so when they go to talk to martin after that yeah this this poor dude he got like there's all these pictures of clowns on the wall deenis like are those gaseys oh but look i know that some of this is like the art gets it out of your head you know mm-hmm but i just can't imagine it's good for your mental health to be surrounded by drawings of clowns it can't be good for anybody i just think that's the best circumstance you know like i

just think that's bad yeah even even if you're like doing well in life right you want to be surrounded by clan what is that is that the good place where Eleanor gets in her house they just like full of clowns everywhere yeah oh god i forgot about that we know how much you love clowns so oh if that reveal is the worst i think there's even like that that that that like music playing or something it's just she's got that weird that weird lift in her apartment where everything is like raising it and so she just has to weirdly climb up this like it's like two feet tall it's like really a little too high to just jump down she's got like body roll across it to get a neck i need to do a rewatch my head together it's such a good show all right so the the consensus that we come to

is that there are there is a rath more than likely that feeds on people's brain juice mm-hmm don't like that and um they can be seen for what they are in reflections so we post up dean by the nurse station to watch everybody passing and see if anybody is a monstrous horrible creature enjoy big savings with red hot deals at vans and albertons this week at vans and albertons baby back pork ribs are 299 per pound with membership where applicable limit three racks and ballpark hot dogs or hamburger buns eight count are 299 with digital coupon plus personal seedless water melons or canelope are 199 each with digital coupon enjoy fresh and delicious savings for every meal hurry in these deals won't last visit vans or albertons.com for more deals and ways to save

could uh i'm sorry i think you just said it passes human yes right yeah okay um um and then yeah the doctor goes by and Dean sees his reflection as a race and it's very clear and very convincing mm-hmm I was convinced first time I watched it I was like oh well there he is yeah I'm same same it didn't even occur to me that like this is an untrustworthy like why would it literally why would it um so it's and it's also just such a startling you know what i'm saying like uh there's a movie that i haven't seen in a long time but it had one of those jump scares that just stays with you and it was um the oh my god I can't believe i'm forgetting about it now the devil's advocate do you remember that one with uh alpichino and alpichino yeah yeah yeah

and alpichino is the devil and the whole thing is like kiano is being tempted to compromise himself on every level for great fame and riches and women and whatever and he is married and part of the way that they're winning him over is their lavishing gifts on his wife as well mm-hmm and she goes out shopping with two of his like demons who are beautiful women yeah the wives of like the other senior partners yeah yeah and they're all at like in this shop changing and one of them is like pulling a sweater up over her head and for just a split second as her face comes out from under her arms it's like a demon's face and it's just so sudden and so gone that for a second you're almost just like did i that was real right which is so perfect because

like the whole thing turns out to be the wife seeing shit and they're sounding more and more unhinged until eventually she's committed because it just seems like she's losing it and that gets her very tidally out of the way so that we can have fun with hot women um but anyway that kind of jump scare the supernatural just be doing all the time and i just think that's mean i you know how i feel about jump scares mm-hmm so uh you know they're not my favorite thing i just feel like i i am here for a good time but why did you feel like you had to do that that's not in the spirit of the thing that's not a good time yeah come on but uh but yeah so we're thinking that it's him honestly a little surprised because it just

seems so obvious to make it him yeah but before we see him uh Dean's doctor car light comes over and leans up against him and they have another little conversation about what is he doing and he's being very forthright i'm hunting looking for monsters and it could be anyone and she's like it could be me and he looks at the mirror and he's like no you're clean and then she asks him why does it have to be you um yeah and he's just like who else is it going to be and she starts talking about it's you know you're responsible for saving you know six billion people want to plan it or whatever that seems like a lot for one person um and he's again still being very flippant he says like you know it has to be me because i can't find anybody else dumb enough and then he says oh but it's my job uh i have to save people's asses and she says is there a quota how many people do you have to save and he says all of them

yeah you think you have to save all of them and he says yeah and she goes well how and he doesn't like answer right away yeah and then he gets very serious and he's like it's the end of the world it's the fucking apocalypse and if i don't stop it and save everybody then nobody bull and everybody will die mm-hmm yeah yeah yeah and she tells them that's horrible and he's like yeah i know yeah it says not the apocalypse part like apocalypse no apocalypse it's still horrible that you feel like you're responsible for six billion people mm-hmm yeah yeah that's the one that and eventually just how do you get out of bed the morning which he's just like oh yeah that's a really good question actually mm-hmm mm-hmm mm-hmm mm-hmm mm-hmm but

it's interesting how things like progress because this how do you get out of bed in the morning it's we're we're approaching the point mm-hmm and as we get further and further into this stay it becomes more and more clear that like they're they're they're just she is taking him so seriously with everything that he is saying in a way that i was like unsure how to interpret right where it sort of could be well we're just going to like follow this train of thought and see what exactly is behind it because this may not be real but it's real enough to you that it feels like it means something significant that we should look at but there doesn't seem to be any like

further like it's just these these leading moments and there's just seeing like now let's talk about your father and then we cut away mm-hmm just felt very much like well it seemed like we were getting to the heart of things there and but we don't even get to see that part so how much is that actually happening and it's just supposed to be you you meet a person where they're at with this delusion and then you like walk with them through well this is what could be going on with you you know what you're seeing and because we never really go there it wasn't like i was thinking she isn't real i was never in a million years guessing that she's not there but it did seem strange that we only have her accepting what Dean is saying and never her really trying to challenge it at all she asks questions but that's not really the same thing you know

and then and the one time we start to we get like a cutaway so i was really like i don't know what to think about this lady i yeah there was a little bit of a suspicion like is she the one but i didn't even really think that it was just something smells off you know i love that when she starts asking when she starts poking or what really he's poking right but when she starts poking about that's a lot of responsibility how are you carrying it you know that's the moment he sees air quotes the rath yeah you know it it because something else pops up that enables him to no longer have to continue on the schrain of thought or continue this conversation yeah like it like so many of us will do you know you get to a point and then you just like no done look at that shiny shiny bobble over there right yeah i just finding out that she's not real though

i really felt like a dumb dumb i should have noticed this is a classic trick right it's in everything we're in a mental hospital there's a person that you're talking to you never talk to them with other people are around or if you do they're not directly involved in the conversation there's just so this is all over the place and i never saw it coming and i felt very silly i just it's duh duh duh and there's like an orderly at one point when he's talking to her later that is in the background but still in focus in such a way that i was like is he gonna do something like i thought the orderly was going to wind up being a threat or i don't know what and all it is is just that he's like yeah he's just observing Dean having a conversation with somebody that isn't there yeah which is like a Tuesday over the orderly you know so it's not

anything to get to worked up about he just is like noticing that Dean is getting a little agitated and it's just like you know simmer down buddy right but like the fact of Dean is having a conversation with someone who's not there is not not bothering this guy at all oh no bro is seeing it all and he is not impressed so i'm sorry i'm just trying to get to the okay so we have the attack finally on the main doctor yeah they've got the the silver plated like pin like envelope openers whatever they got windy comes up kisses Sam as she chooses him now larger and this is a this is a nice little little red herring i guess for later yeah definitely figure out like how things are getting transmitted you know she's like oh the girl kisses everybody it's gotta be her that's what i thought when i first saw this i was like of course it's her

yeah i can't believe it never occurred to me that like i just i was just like yeah well you know it's gonna be like that is it yeah and when they're in the hallway planning the attack on dr fuller this is when they try to get martin they try to recruit martin into the plan and he's just like you know no i can't i can't do it i'm not that guy anymore and um we know what happened in albacurky no you don't no you don't know what happened why would you say that and martin says i used to be just like you too i think i was i thought i was invincible and then well i found out i'm not which is like a heavy sentence yeah um i thought i was invincible and i found that i'm not and uh they're still like you are hunter no you're not you know i i love the helpy but i just can't do it guys i'm so sorry i can't and he walks away just leaves

them in the hallway looking kind of like i don't know what these expressions on their faces actually as they're watching him walk away i'm trying to find the spot here where he's like arguing with him uh the sam looks like he feels sorry for him and dean looks frustrated is what i would say they both reacting to this very differently dean looks annoyed yeah and also i can't help but wonder if there's a little is that gonna be me this is gonna be me some like i think there's just annoyance with the fact that like oh you can't snap out of it so is that what happens that you just can't escape anymore you know i i think it's that and also there might be a bit of resentment because dean has just expressed that he can't turn his back on his obligations right he's got to do this thing and then he watches this other hunter literally turn his back and say no i can't do it it can't

be me and walk away and dean is like how fucking dare you yeah i can do that McDonald's is putting value back on the menu whether you're craving a big mac McNuggets or sausage egg and cheese McGrittle's make it a meal and save your favorite is now your wallets favorite two extra value meals are back get a big something extra with a big mac or 10 peacemaking nuggets fries and a medium coke all for just nine dollars limited time only promotion pricing may be lower than meal pricing Toyota's easy choice sales event is on whether you're looking for the performance of a camera the versatility of her app for the efficiency of a corolla or all electric driving in the BZ there's a Toyota that's just right for you and with great deals across the lineup now's the time to find yours but hurry these deals won't last long Toyota's easy choice sales event and soon

we make it easy Toyota let's go places discovered top rated stays loved by guests rated highest by real guests throughout then to review verbal book of vacation rental loved by guests and also maybe low key jealous like you know what it you know like must be nice walk away you know that's an option i didn't realize i was an option i can just say no uh-huh no one ever gave me an option to say no before i was it was you know drilled in me that this was a duty that you can't step away from yeah um and watching this man be like yeah no i gave everything i had and i don't have anything left to give which i gotta imagine is how dean is sort of feeling like i've already given everything i've got running one fumes here yeah and uh like you're walking away the fuck that's that's how this works who do you think you are you know yeah hmm yeah i could see that i wonder if Sam is thinking about

himself at all it's so it is coming across as purely like the poor guy but i'm wondering if there's more in there than that you know i don't know hmm the thing that they do with sam this episode uh because sam is a fucking monster and i mean that and like he's a beast and he's fucking these guys up in his hallway he's way the he tosses them it is yeah yeah like i don't we don't i mean we've seen Sam you know do his thing but i feel like we've never seen him and plus he's just humans these going after so that's adds a different element to it because they're not as strong and in like slot monsters strength and demon strength these are just dudes and he is tossing them around like they are nothing and uh there's all this talk in this show about the monster that's in sam right yeah you know what's in him what's gonna do it what's gonna dark side and blah blah blah

and he is low key like a monster here and it's just him it's not demon blood it's you know granted he's got a little bit of toxin in him but that's not really what's going on either yeah um it's and he admits that at the end of the episode like that's that's just what he's riding with which is insane yeah yeah this uh i have all of this rage and i don't even know why or what to do with it relatable yeah and i feel like dude it's not even that much of a mystery way i have so much rage yeah rage like your mom died when you were a kid everybody kind of made it your fall you're like the reason she died you've been manipulated in light too uh you've been used uh to other people's nefarious you've got a laundry list agreed the mystery is why you're mystified actually

i mean why are you angry you had john wishes or father i feel like that could just be a complete sentence right there yeah he's uh difficult so this winds up thank god he's kind of what's his face martin like he has his back unexpectedly yeah because dean is about to kill the doctor oh my god why i don't know christ natasha sam is about to kill the doctor and martin comes up and is like no it's not him he's not and finally sam resurfaces enough to realize that like there's a reaction that should be happening when he's touched by this silver that's not happening and is shaken you can see by the fact that he

very nearly murdered this dude yeah it was uh hair's breath away yeah it was about to happen yeah it was about to it was about to go down um and it's unfortunate because he's just working on the information dean gave uh you know um so it's not even like his fall i mean it is because he gets so in it that he's not even seeing yeah this this is evidence in front of him that he is ignoring that if he were in this headspace where he's probably just being the it's the start of him being affected by the tongues and i would guess um he probably would have noticed that this the reaction i'm expecting isn't happening but it's just not clicking for him because he is caught up in this rampage yeah it's uh rampages an actual perfect definition of what's happening in this hallway

um and he is like uh he's out of his mind yeah uh but he is not like hallucinating or anything like that but he is he is not seeing clearly yeah yeah yeah it sucks yeah and he does look crazy there's like a shot of his face when he's like kind of coming out of what he's done but before before like it's him being like oh my god what have i done it's just like a freeze of just like him in in the throes of it yeah and he looks like like unhinged um and in the next scene is him medicated oh he all fucked up is it him i am spec at least as far as i am awesome yeah take a minute to get the word awesome out and he finally does and then i am spectacular

which is pretty good he does like they gave you something he's saying says they gave me everything good for you buddy uh but they have a moment here he's like brings Dean close to him and he tells them you know the doctor wasn't the wreath and uh and they're trying to figure out like well it does make sense because i saw it in a mirror yeah and then sim was like maybe you are going crazy i mean you've been crazy for a long time or at least half crazy the way that he just plants this in his head of just like i know maybe you're crazy and as things go on you just start to be like oh oh no oh is that oh no he's like yes and she got back from hell maybe even before you went to hell he he maybe you finally cracked his fight like it's not the support of pep talk you want

in this moment but it may be what Dean deserves he has tried to have be the support of brother and reach out and you have been uninterested so maybe this is what you get you know uh did he grabs him and says it's okay hey look at me it's okay because you're my brother and i still love you i love you and he like tears up he blesses us he boops these no this is so weird because like the last thing that i finished was dungeon crawler carl where the very last word of the book is boop and and then to have him do that here as well i was just sort of like what does happening why is it where are we all booping left and right what's going on

some days you got a boop some days you just need to boop there's just nothing else to be done about it can't be helped no i don't like the way that came out i take it back i regret it deeply this is not to represent who i am as a person you mind the chat says that sam is all of us in 2026 america oh god that's so depressing oh it really is hey it um so sam leaves i'm sorry Dean now i'm doing it Dean leaves sam to sort of recover and he's on a mission to find the rate and his lady doctor doctor doctor cartwright shows up again and it's just like you missed our session today he's like i'm fucking busy you know yeah i'm busy i got other things to do i don't have time for this and this is

when she starts talking about how you can't save everybody all the skilch are carrying and then she gets nasty she just turns on him yep and i'm like beginning to suspect something weird is up but it's such an abrupt oh and also your piece of shit who smells like garbage and your face is stupid and i'm just like what what just happened yeah she is vicious yeah yeah it's bad it's bad and he starts raising his voice and she says um he says i'm fine i'm fine she goes you don't even you don't believe that and all the skilch's killing you you can't save everybody and then she starts talking about alan and joe and yeah he can't save anybody and it's just you shot loser for but you couldn't gank him which is now she's talking in his she says gank i love that you couldn't gank him

what all all you do is fail and he she quotes the gd and give him how attitude that he said you know while ago in another episode um and he's getting more and more agitated and ask her how does she know all this who is she and the orderliest like settle down i do love the orderly just like all right i see things are beginning to escalate over here i don't know what this argument is he's imagining but we certainly can't have all that yeah yeah oh teen is like who is she dude is like come on bro and teen is like she's standing right there and the guys like dude nobody is there and then she says to him you know i'm not here you're going crazy and then he can't see her anymore yeah me wow the orderliest just standing there like are we done here

it's this little this is this is done this is a little weird episode that you're having could finally coming to a close can we move on with our fucking days right i've got other things to do other people to rough up and restrain um and as dean is leaving this is when every mirror he looks in is reflecting a rayback to him everybody that he sees is a race and he ends up like cowering in a corner yeah sinking down to his knees just completely like overwhelmed and terrified yeah hate it so that great i don't like seeing dean curled up in the fetal position call me crazy yeah it's not it's not encouraging yeah this is not something that i'm excited to see and i want him to begin to put it together a lot sooner than he does yeah this isn't right you know but yeah understandably when he's losing it he's just like well yes i'm losing it because i am

a loser mm-hmm but when sam starts losing it is when he's like okay what no no no soton's what is this which uh is very telling actually it really is it says a lot right yeah it really does so we go back to sam who's an isolation from his attack and uh he has asked the see doctor fuller and doctor fuller comes and sam does this whole apology you know i thought you were a monster i was out of my head i realized now that i was deluded but i've had a moment of clarity he apologizes for almost killing this man this man for some reason except that apology i would have remained unconvinced i mean he kind of is he says i'm really glad to hear that but i saw what i saw and you being deluded that i'm a monster is it the least of your problem exactly he he he he

acknowledges that you may have had a moment of clarity about your delusion but there's a much bigger thing going on that's scary yeah uh you know he says he says you look like a man that was possessed mm-hmm um which is uh which would be ridiculous what normally get out of here i don't even know what you mean yeah and uh i wanted i mean i guess it doesn't i felt like i wanted that to hit sam a little bit harder which part about being possessed like a man that was possessed but uh i mean it does hit because he speaks about it later but i think i mean in like the moment like in his face um he's kind of taking all this in uh but he doesn't um i don't know he's just kind of like

huh like a little chagrined but not like called out hmm you know what i mean i do know what you mean well i don't know this is one of those things where it's definitely also just personal preference and baggage because for me when he says you were like a man possessed internally i was like boy yeah okay okay we get it mm-hmm but i can also understand why you feel like you really underreacted there Sam so yeah i don't know yeah i um i didn't expect it to be a kind of reaction that would necessarily create any additional questions from the doctor but i kind of wanted to see Sam like like like there's a face Sam makes it the very end of that scene

this what i'm looking for it was just the timing of it was different you know okay like there's a there's a because he's like doctor's like i'll let you out into the room but you're going to be supervised and if anything else happens i'm gonna send you someplace where they you know won't be as forgiving yeah and to that Sam's face looks like kind of what i wanted to see in that other moment just kind of like a buck you know yeah like it's like a real kind of not a fuck i'm in a bad situation or a fuck i might not get out of here and i might end up someplace else it's like more secure but like a fuck what is what is what is in what is going on with me yeah yeah yeah and then they let him in a day room and he immediately starts to loosen maybe and it's like instantly i mean that doctor must just be like oh i really right okay i guess i should i deserve this and uh yeah the things that um all the people are saying are you know black spot on

your soul we're all gonna die you're a freak you're a loser you killed us all um and it's just a throng of people seeming to be around him completely surrounding him and he is wailing on them yeah i'm not really there so it's just him spinning around punching air for a minute which is like pie and Dean is watching all of this from a table like he can't even move yeah and he's just he's just saying over and over what's happening what's happening what's happening in an orderly's common sand decks them too because yes what you gonna do i mean the the imaginary people that he's fighting he's going so hard for that even if the orderlies weren't if like even if he couldn't see the it just you don't want to be anywhere near this man the way he's swinging six yeah what like come in the chart grab his arms yeah let him tell

tires of how people who do this stuff for a living have got to be some of the strongest most committed pun intended i mean i just can't imagine i would never i would never want any parts of it yeah yeah i i agree it is a different type of constitution you have to have i think to do that type of work um and hopefully um in order to do it with any sort of compassion and care and dignity is takes another level yeah um but yeah i wouldn't recommend it it is a is a opportunity for employment anybody if you have another choice thing opportunity for employment

so dean uh sneaks into martin's room and almost catches a i jami because martin wakes up swinging this this dude for all that he's not a hunter anymore is fucking already i i must respect it um you're right and yeah i was just making sure where i'm going ah so uh this is when dean is like i think i'm going crazy too i'm seeing things i'm hearing things sam is in lockdown crazy is the clue he says and this is the clue he just sort of like trail saw yeah and he has to be brought back he says crazy is the clue again he's like yeah you just sent that i cackled because like this is what it's like dealing with people who are fucked up is they like lose their train of thought and then they come back and they just repeat it i mean this is also what it's like dealing with me with the ADHD but we'll set that aside and we'll talk about it in a different way but yeah this whole vibe of

just like i i am thinking so hard that i can't focus which is just a weird place to be but if you've been there you know yeah he is uh and it's a this dean also starts talking about this is how we're gonna end up you know drooling like a couple of you know crazy as bed bugs and he looks at martin goes no offense and martin very sincerely to me it's just like no take and like he just truly just let that roll off him but you know but dean is putting the pieces together he's like but you know maybe we would end up like this if we live long enough being conscious but both of us going this crazy on the same day something something's going on yeah and they start to theorize that maybe the race doesn't just feed on people who are insane but maybe it makes them that way maybe it you know it makes them crazy and uh he asks dean says does that seem possible does that

seem real and martin says i'm not the most reliable source i appreciate you martin just being like asking me the question does that seem real so isn't gonna get you the clarity you're looking for so you're gonna rephrase it he's like but it does sound it does make sense uh and then dean is like yeah maybe we got infected and then he starts to trail off again he's like maybe it's my dad and martin's like come back buddy yes come back but yeah for for a second dean is like his dad pops back up into his head maybe if it's just for a split second yeah cuz that's my dad's in there what how yeah right maybe it's my dad making us crazy like why why would you think that why would you think that

uh fair enough fair enough his dad has made them crazy i think that's just like that's just a thing right yes so now they think it's windy because they're thinking about the saliva must be how to toxin is spread we get dean doing this this walk down the hallway oh because he can't step on the cracks yeah the way that he is twisting himself into knots to try and like and he is chagrined when it's pointed out like he is aware i know this makes no sense but you he can't stop himself anyway because that is how that shit is it's like look i don't want to be doing this but he says it's literally like i can't i can't step on the cracks i noticed this ridiculous i'm so sorry we're moving so slow i don't know what else to tell you i

can't step on the cracks yeah it's just the facts oh it rhymes but yeah so this uh uh pilgrimage it's just like they're moving so slowly that's all i can think to call it in this moment it's just like very slowly making their way um i'm trying to get he eventually comes across the because there's somebody screaming for a second and it gets off right yeah they're on their way to see windy who they think is the race right they've been kissing everybody but windies actually in the process of being attacked yeah poor windy so they're on their way to her room and they hear the screaming and then they bust in and catch you know catch the race in sort of in action yeah um dean and the race are fighting martin goes over and like checks on windy um

um then the fucking knife falls out at dean's hand i think martin gets it and like gets his wife at the nurse and we see her hand um like what do i want to say the hurt when she gets like like crackles and pops and like oh yeah it like sizzles like it's uh sizzles that's the word i want yeah and uh they go check a windy who's like who's still alive there's a creepy quick moment too that she opens her eyes or something and she's like whoa well what's that yeah for him it's like she is laying there so still and when she opens her eyes there's no accompanying like you know like the kind of thing that you would be expecting so it just feels almost like was she just faking it is she about to do something and then it just cuts away so yeah it was just that she was uh unconscious but i definitely for a second was like does this like turn you into something for a second or is she gonna be a monzen now yeah you know with those things and her paw and her wrist who can tell who can tell oh

and dean again is in the corner cowering watching and martin is like you got to go you got to go after her because the nurse is like left the room and it called out to the orderlies and uh orderlies come in martin jumps on them and like ties them up and it has to yell at dean like hey snack out of it yeah you gotta go you gotta go now and dean is like i can i can't and it's it's a moment of dean being just like what the fuck are you gonna do you gonna what are you gonna do are you gonna be able to do what you have to do and eventually he does like it up and leave the room um but meanwhile she has made her way to the room where they have Sam restrained yeah an actual padded room which i don't know if he's a real so these like exist in a real way like this is one of those those movie conventions that you see all kinds of stuff that you find out later in life that's not really how any of that works and i know this is gonna be a weird example to give but the one that i always think of is how

in and i actually i think i told you about this it wasn't until i was like 29 that i encountered an ice cream truck that had soft serve oh my god that was simply not a thing anywhere i lived and i'd see these in just saying like that's not real and it's like truck had a hard ice cream our ice cream truck had pre-packaged ice cream bars like a you the fact that your mind did not go to that and went instead to hard ice cream like they're scooping uh like i'm asking robins uh-huh no it's just like the bars that you can get in the front case of like a convenience store that's bananas it's not rishon it's standard you just live in a really yes oh my god yes by far it is standard it requires way less equipment it requires next to no cleaning it's way cheaper on so many levels

oh my god yeah definitely you don't have to have containers there's barely any weight because you just grab it you don't have to serve it up there's no toppings and sprinkles to deal with yeah now oh my god i'm so sorry look me too i took a photo of that ice cream when i got it because i was just like what this is and i still have that photo in the same stacy saying all right you can check said the same thing i never see one with ice cream you guys are blowing my mind right now it's really tragic like oh i i think about this a lot because you know i've moved back to a place where it's definitely once again going to be bars if we ever had an ice cream truck show up which we don't um which is surprising because there's a lot of kids in our neighborhood they really should but yeah it's uh the the padded room is a thing that feels to me like there's two places in the country

probably they have one of these and it's like low-key illegal and not really used anymore you know what i mean i have a a weird memory of seeing a padded room but it has not been substantiated by the other people who were there that day okay we all have different versions of what we saw it's very very weird um and my recollection of the event is very different than other people who were there but i have a distinct memory of seeing someone it didn't had a padded room interesting okay yeah i went to visit uh someone who was in a in a hospital in the like institutionalized um and i remember the room being padded but when i talked to my brother and my mother about it they're like you know i don't think so so i don't know if my mind just you know filled in some blanks for reason stuff and i don't have a lot of even though i was old enough to have a full memory of this i was like

15 yeah it might as well i might as well up in three years old like the memory is so fractured hmm it's just one of those things that your brain just like you know your brain does weird things kids it really does and you know if there's some information floating around in there that it doesn't want you to have to be bothered with it will just be like it's scary it's really scary i've had so many things where my memory tells me something and that memory seems vivid and fresh and then i will go interact with the thing and i was so far off and you would never have been able to convince me i was wrong until i went and saw with my own eyes and even then i'm almost like this is wrong is this is it yeah memories yeah not to be trusted that it's what was that meme it's like a it was like a picture of like a Chinese place or something it was like no longer calling them trauma we're calling it spicy memories or something

that feels right yep um so Dean finally does leave the room and it is a ordeal yeah like he can barely walk at this point yeah um and he's trying to make his way to say um this nurse whose name i cannot remember i don't even really know they say that yeah she comes in and the first thing she says to him is you are far too angry to be out in the world and Sam looks at the mirror and goes it's you as she says of course it's me that was so disrespectful just being like yet idiot oh he's so gross obviously it's me what the fuck they lowkey deserve that honestly they really do um damn yeah and this is when she starts talking about how they just made it very easy to spot

coming in here talking about monsters talking about being hunters uh oh my god i'm so sorry you guys your mind and chat says i have that postcard on my fridge you need constant villages with your own brain you can't trust that shady slippery bitch yes i forgot about that i did too vigilance yeah the other one stay out of your brain that's a bad neighborhood that was well yeah was on a tweet or something that's an a-a thing ah okay yeah something they say an a all the time i appreciate that one um so yeah she just decides to like toy with him a little bit because she actually likes the flavor a lot better when they're crazy because they just secrete all of these delicious hormones and adrenaline and yeah like like Laurie salt like Laurie seasoning saw ages you know

i would say adobo but you know everybody has their thing and she reveals finally we get to see her little instrument her weapon and it's like this this piercing thing this little i don't know what we saw that when she was attacking what's her face it was extended yeah oh it was out it was out in that scene you're right it was already out because she was just about to go in yeah you're right this this this it's sliding in and out of her hand nope um um like it's because it's kind of a cheesy effect and yet somehow it's very upsetting yeah i think it's because it looks so boneless that it almost makes you feel like is her bone just coming out and you're like yeah you know that's not what it is but it does kind of hit this visceral almost familiar kind of thing that you're just like uh why when she has it going almost to his head and he finally breaks it and you know that's what's going to happen to

it right when you have that shot with his out you know that's what he's got to do so you know it's coming and yet he breaks it i didn't expect it to be so much blood in it i don't know why i didn't expect like i what i expected was for her to just be like damn it but she's like a dream like it looks like it really fucking her it's like he broke one of her fingers off like he just ripped it off yeah it's a lot yeah it's a lot of blood comes out she is like incapacitated by this by this injury and he's able to pick up the letter opener off the floor and stab her basically she should have had on a bungee which we established during the life why are they not using the bungee i thought we agreed boys you know i don't i'm we discuss this i'm so disappointed in this turn of events yeah and then they uh they basically get at all yeah there's like an alarm that goes off which i'm not really sure what spurs that

it like there's it's all hectic right now you know but i like i don't think it's that she was discovered there's still in the middle when it starts going off right so my my assumption is because Martin is dealing with the orderlies and the orderlies know that Dean got away so they got a like soundly alarm maybe get home with Martin let everybody know there's a patient that's not accounted for which is Dean because as far as they know Sam is so in the lockup right so that that's my thinking is the alarm is because they got the situation in Martin and they've got a patient on the loose gotcha okay whoopsie daisy back you're right yeah i just knocked something over but it can be picked up later it's fine and so i go through life i saw it i just now pick it up later and just my floor is covered and stuff that i just never bothered with see and then is there making their way to the card Sam stops to have this like

conversation not now it's an important conversation and i'm glad he wants to have it but not now not now for the love of god have a fucking clue there's a time and please yeah yeah um yeah Sam stops in order to the car like they're pretty practically at the car but Sam stops and Dean is like what do you dude what are you doing i can't get in the car and go let's hit the fucking road i get so hooked by this lack of urgency in anything and the boys are usually so good about it to have him be the one that stops and it's like i need to talk about my mental health right now i'm like yeah do you is this because you want to go back inside i was gonna say like i was gonna say like do you need to go back up do you want to go back if you want to go back then just turn around but don't drag me into it but yeah this is i'm a man all the time and you know i've been blaming it on this i've been

blaming it on that but it's not any of those things it's me it's in me and Dean is just like suck it up buttercup basically as he puts it is okay so you're mad so and what's that gonna do are you gonna like you know like what basically he has the attitude that i have on my worst days where i am just like yeah so you're sad well guess what many people are sad life goes on let's fucking get a move on i have very very little patience for myself a lot and honestly to a degree it's true you do just gotta go on like you know but long as you can and so you can't but the thing is like i have this and Dean has this as well of acting like acknowledging that you have the pain

is wallowing which it's not wallowing if you never have acknowledged it before exactly and that's what he's acting is if it's like you're just being so self-indulgent which to be fair right now he is because as we've said not right now so yeah so this is a little bit like please but in a greater sense talking about your feelings is not inherently self-indulgent nope you know and we really do treat it like it is you know we really do act like all the jokes about i mean it's it's changed you know over the years generationally it's a little bit different now we'd have a little bit more respect or pretend at least i have more respect about mental health therapy and all that stuff and like the sigma is slowly kind of going away but it's still it's still active but you know but i distinctly recall and it hasn't been that long where saying somebody was seeing a

therapist was shorthand basically for oh they're so self-indulgent they're so self-concerned you know they are too wrapped up in themselves what a waste of time is a naval gaze and you're paying somebody to listen to you talk about yourself can you think of anything more ridiculous or disgusting you know yeah that sort of mentality was so prevalent and it uh really informed everything you saw it like in stand-up you saw it in movies and tv shows and like it was like a one-off insult you could say to somebody somebody would tell you i can remember i can remember holding those kind of thoughts as somebody who's needed mental health support themselves i can distinctly remember time especially in my teen years and my very early 20s if i found out a friend was had access to mental therapy i would just be like oh

oh yeah must be nice that throw a hundred dollars away to let hasn't might listen to you you know i mean yeah and it was it was such a common common common way of thinking um and and even though we've gotten better around specific conversations i do think that sort of what do i want to call it that dismissiveness it's still kind of there we we maybe hide it a little bit better but because we know it's not as it's acceptable to say it out loud yeah right but i think the attitudes do kind of remains you know that um seeking that type of support you know acknowledging your feelings acknowledging that you're not okay that you're struggling or whatever is seen as oh you're just wallowing in it get up get up and do something different if you if it sucks a bad get up and change it you know don't sit around don't sit around talking about it do something about it that

that energy yeah you know as though talking is not equal to doing when it's really like the very first that yeah that's the that's the main thing again where you're allowed to talk about it if you've never talked about it because how are you supposed to know what the next step is until you've actually know what the problem is and this is something that i've run into with Marshall's grandmother is like she just has zero tolerance for complaining of any kind in a way that i think is so toxic and it's like i you know we'll be talking about doing home repair stuff and i'll be like oh yeah and our floor is just absolutely shot and really needs to be replaced and she'll be like well you know it still works as a floor though right like you can still walk on it so wow if that kind of thing we're she'll just cut me off in a way that's almost like did you built our house like why are

you so defensive of this but she's like that with everything and i get so frustrated there was a day recently where we were playing a game and my phone was blowing up and it was Candice texting me uh several paragraphs angry about an anime that she was watching that i've never seen and this is a standard thing where Candice will just she knows i've never seen it she knows that i can't i have nothing to offer but she needs to say it to somebody and so she just will go off and i'll so i put my phone on do not disturb after checking it and i sort of smirked as i put it on do not disturb and marshal was just like what's going on there and i was just like oh Candice is mad about an anime and he's like ah and his grandmother is like that's a friend i just like yeah and she's like and she's just like texting you to complain about something and i was like yeah and she goes does she complain a lot and i said yeah it's one of my favorite things about her and his grandmother

just was blank for a second it was like what and i was just like yeah well complaining is super fun and how are you gonna like fix anything until you complain about it and know what's wrong so and she just seemed to not know what to do with that so we just shouldn't suspect after that but i felt like i really wanted to sort of hammer it home oh my god it's fine sometimes you know i'm like it makes me wonder if she thinks i'm judging her when she complains of course i'm not like i complain 80% of the words out of my mouth that's what it is what do i care i mean what else is there there's not a whole lot that you know i mean there's a lot to complain about there's so much to complain let's all very real you know there's less that i mean i know that there's good things to celebrate and blah blah blah blah but really the things that complain about are just like endless like you just go one and one forever about it and i am a person of action as well i complain but i also do stuff i am just that's how i work is i will wine endlessly but i'll do it my

my parents didn't raise a quitter they raised a complainer i'll do it and i'm gonna bitch and mone you will know about every single little instance of inconvenience but it will get done and if it's done well too i will really commit to it but i will also really commit to that fucking complaining and i'm not gonna apologize for that i just think that that is how it should be done everybody's motivation and engine and their catalyst works differently right so if it's getting a job done then it's it's serving its purpose yeah exactly anyway i think we get on this oh not wanting to talk about our feelings because we're a man child right right right yeah and and Dean just ends up shutting all that shit down and end up with the final foot of being like and if we don't compartmentalize if we don't

push it down we're gonna end up just like martin which is just hilarious yeah like the idea that this is not exactly how martin maybe wound up where he is that this hasn't seemed to occur to him is agonizing like i and in the moment there's a sense almost of like say i'm nose couldn't be about damn well this is bullshit but he can also see Dean is not gonna hear anything so he just drops it because i think that's just him going okay you know what obviously we're not doing this so yeah fine we're not doing it i think the thing that's that scares Dean i mean i don't notice me this is not the show this is me but the line that sticks out for me the most is when martin says i was just like you too you know i thought i was invincible until i learned that i wasn't or until i wasn't something like that yeah and it's

um it's it's it's it's set in a way of like you know i used to be a better hunter i used to be somebody to do stuff like this i used to be brash and brazen and all that stuff but it's also such a stark warning yeah you know it's saying that there's going to be a thing that you face this point to shake all of that confidence right out of you you know which is like kind of they both died so i do feel a little bit like if that were going to have happened it probably would have happened at this point like you know we've faced death and been there done that and i don't know maybe it's just something that looks different for them mm-hmm i don't know um it could be somebody has to kill a person they love which we have died

but we haven't had to like hurt each other so maybe that's it i don't know and they've also like like even more so than the average hunter right even more than a martin these both because they have both died and they're both still here yeah so that is got to make them feel more you know what i mean um yeah so like a normal person would probably break but because because they've had that happen and they're still kicking we literally got yanked out of hell you know so so you kind of i would imagine sort of sort of get this attitude the dean display is more than anything of like come at me bro what do you got you know you you can't tell me nothing yeah um but and sort of sort of minimizing that there might be some things out there to control them a thing or two

you know yeah yeah yeah so yeah not an episode that i necessarily you know thought that needed to be a live watch but i think it's a good enough episode uh and um i was wondering if you would be into it or not the reason i said i wasn't sure how you'd feel about it was not because of the episode itself but because we get this it's because we left on a sort of a very big moment level and then we come back and remember like this was a season finale right so we had to wait like two months and then we get this episode which is not picking up that thread at all so i wasn't sure if this if the episode would be interesting enough to you to like make that not an issue it's funny because like i have gotten so used to this and not just with this show there's a few other things i cover as well where there'll be this major fucking moment and then the next episode we

almost don't even talk about it you know um this show is especially bad about that though and so at this point it's just much more like i don't expect to deal with it right away because of the track record cool all right but it was also like a much more major death and usual so if i had stopped to think about it maybe i would have been more like what the fuck but i it didn't really like even make me just stop and think for a second oh cool cool yeah what that makes me happy yeah but i was there another episode this season that you wanted to have be yeah yeah what other yeah or anything coming up soon or i'm going to double check i mean also the the season finale is kind of like a toofr like a two episode kind of deal okay um so that's

already two episodes that we're gonna do live for the end of the season and there's a a couple of good ones in between does what i want to do for funsies and then i so we might end up doing a total of four more i have to definitely two more for like a given for the finale and i think there's two more i want to i want to slip in there but i got to double check the episode guide and uh see when they come up okay and if and remind myself of the episode to see if it's really you know if it's really worth it and i do want to check in on the discord too and see if there's anything particular the people want to see um and maybe that will align with what i'm thinking all right so i need i need to hop in there and just put a little message up and tell people to just how you want to see you gotta come find me on facebook and tell me
