Sun Devils Sweep Utes, Prepare for Kansas

This victory gives the Sun Devils their first season sweep against the Utes and march their 5th straight home win in the series. With records now at 15 wins and 14 losses overall for Arizona State and 6-10 in conference, they showed strong defense while keeping turnovers low. The team overcame an early 14-5 deficit, outscoring Utah, 68-46 the rest of the way. They shot nearly 53% from 3-point range, hitting 9-17 and held the use to just 39% from the field. The bench contributed 27 points to Utah's 14 and Arizona State dominated inside with a 36-26 edge in the paint. Players stepped up big despite some nagging injuries. Redshirt sophomore Santiago Trué posted his 5th double-double of the year with 12 points and 10 rebounds plus 3 blocks.

Reserves like Anthony Johnson with 13 points and Bryce Ford with 8 kept the momentum going. In the bigger picture, Arizona State improved to 19 wins and 13 losses against Utah and Tempe winning 9 of the last 12 meetings. Overall, Coach Bobby Hurley has now swept the Utes three times at home. They also moved to 9-0 when holding foes under 70 points.
