Strome & Klapka Hit Milestones at MSG

Ryan Strome and Adam Klapka are both set to hit

big career milestones when they face

the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

Strom will play in his 900th NHL game,

becoming the sixth player from the 2011 draft class

to reach that mark.

Meanwhile, the six foot eight-winger Klapka

suits up for his 100th contest.

Strom was traded to the Flames just last week

from the Anaheim Ducks after a 13-year career

that started as the fifth overall pick by the new.

His family, including parents from the Toronto area

and wife and kids back home, are cheering him on from afar

with phone calls and usual game day.

Klapka took a different road, going undrafted

before signing as a free agent from Czechia.

He never dreamed of reaching 100 games

when he joined Calgary, but he's locked down

a steady fourth line spot this season,

playing in nearly every game.

Both players shared excitement about their achievements.

Strom called it a chance to reflect on his long career

and look ahead to more challenges

while Klapka hopes to add a couple hundred games to his total.

Flames coach Ryan Huska praised Klapka's growth

into a physical force with strong puck skills.

The game holds extra meaning for the 32-year-old Strom

who played 263 games for the Rangers

and racked up his most points there.

Huska expects the team to handle the special night well
