More than 3,700 customers remained without electricity as of 12.45 pm, including 800 in Garner 6, 100 in Raleigh, and 1,100 in Holly Springs. Duke Energy expects to restore power by around 5.45 pm. A cold front swept through Central North Carolina early that morning, delivering much needy rain along with cooler temperatures. Officials warned that storms could intensify later in the day, especially south of the triangle, toward Fayetteville, Goldsboro, and Pinehurst. Several counties like Johnston, Lee, Harnett, and Cumberland stayed under a severe thunderstorm watch until 5 pm, with risks of isolated. Tornados, hail, and wind gusts up to 70 miles per hour.
