Storm System Wreaks Havoc Across US

A massive storm system brought wild weather to much of the United States on Sunday, with heavy snow bearing the upper Midwest, fierce winds battering, the planes, and severe flooding hitting Hawaii. A Minnesota and Wisconsin, more than one foot of snow had already fallen by Sunday morning, and forecasters expected several more inches around. Minneapolis under blizzard warnings, with even higher totals possible, and parts of central Wisconsin and Michigan's upper peninsula. Roads turned impassable across Minnesota, Michigan, and Wisconsin, prompting urgent warnings from transportation officials to stay off the highways. Due to low visibility and deep drifts, air travel grounds were hauled too, with over 600 flights cancelled at Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport, and dozens more at Detroit.
