With the 2026 NFL Combine now in the books, Draft Analyst Adam Stark has released his third Mott Draft for the Detroit Lions. He focuses on defensive playmakers and bolstering the offensive line, picking high upside talents that match general manager Brad Holmes, tough. Physical Style Stark grabs cornerback Jared McCoy from Tennessee in the first round. McCoy missed last season with a torn ACL, but shown as a sophomore, earning top grades in coverage and run defense. In Round 2, he selects Ed rusher Malachi Lawrence from UCF, a Combine Beast with a lead speed and jumps to pair with Aiden Hutchinson. Safety needs are huge with Brian Branch and Kirby Joseph's sideline early, so Stark guys bud Clark from TCU in a later pick. Clark crush Combine testing, topping charts and sprints, verticals and broad jumps, despite

middling tape grades. This addresses death right away. Stark loves running back Pac-Cougan as a 5th round steel, a guy he's mocked to Detroit multiple times for great value. He also likes K-Tron Allen from Penn State later, part of their strong backfield duo before the team's collapse. The mock factors in recent trades and a potential compensatory pick, expect homes to trade up, maybe into the third round, using extra 4th, 5th and 6th.
