0:00On April 5th, a stabbing attack hit the Morton Hall area of Barry St. Edmunds back on March 22nd around 10.15pm. A man in his forties got rushed to the hospital with life-threatening stab wounds, but he's stable now. Suffered police called it targeted, with five suspects in dark clothes and face coverings fleeing the scene. Fast forward to early April, and Sebastian Smith, a 47-year-old from Luisham, got nabbed in South East London on April 2nd. They hauled him up to Suffolk for questioning and slapped him with an attempted murder charge. Police say this doesn't threaten the wider community, which is a relief amid the shock in the neighborhood. The victim pulled through the worst, and folks are breathing easier knowing it's not random violence. Two other men are on police bail after arrests on suspicion of murder. A 44-year-old from Brixton picked up March 25th in April 3rd. Plus a 38-year-old grabbed March 30th. Smith showed up at Ipswich Magistrates Court this past Saturday and got remanded in custody. He'll head to Ipswich Crown Court on May 5th, as the case pushes forward.
