Spring Training Players Tee Off on Golf

Spring training players in the Phoenix area are making the most of their downtime between workouts and games. They're focusing on activities that help clear their minds and build team bonds away from the ballpark. Golf has emerged as a top choice for many to relax and stay sharp. Several players have taken of golf in a big way this spring. One is honing his short game at a local course with excellent chipping and putting facilities. The nearby PGA Tour event, the WM Phoenix Open, has inspired even more interest in hitting the links. Not everyone sticks to golf though, some are trying new hobbies like building LEGO sets to be boredom, others catch college basketball games, cheering for teams like the Indian Hoosiers while dealing with the ups and downs. Hanging out with teammates is a common theme too. They grab meals together and enjoy Arizona's great weather. It's all about keeping things light before the intensity ramps up.
