Folks in St. Petersburg and nearby areas woke up to the strange sight and started sharing photos of the glowing cloud drifting across the dawn sky. Local meteorologist Courtney Jacobazi identified it as a nocta-lucent cloud, a rare effect from rocket plumes high in the atmosphere getting lit up, just as the sun peaks over the horizon.
