SNL UK: A Promising Start

The American original has run for 50 years on NBC, launching stars like Eddie Murphy, Tina Fey, and Will Farrow. Sky helped to capture that magic with a homegrown version, and so far, it's off to a solid start. Expectations were sky high at Sky headquarters with some worried about pulling off live sketch comedy in today's crowded streaming world. Still, the opening episode impressed many by blending familiar format with fresh British twists. Critics had plenty to say. One comedy site called it a strong opener with real promise.
